My son’s 8th birthday just passed… and it reminded me how quickly childhood moves.

How are they growing this fast?

The truth is, motherhood feels like a blur sometimes. Not because we don’t love our children — but because we’re exhausted and busy. Overstimulated. Living in a culture that keeps us in constant “go mode.”

In this episode, I’m reflecting on what celebrating another year of my son’s life revealed to me about practicing presence — and why it feels so hard in today’s world.

Because we were raised in systems that trained us to:

  • Measure our worth by productivity
  • Prioritize productivity over connection
  • Push through exhaustion
  • Override our bodies

And those systems don’t support regulated nervous systems. They don’t prioritize maternal mental health. They don’t protect mothers. They don’t honor slowness, rest, or sacred connection.

So when you struggle to be present, it’s not because you’re failing.  It’s conditioning. You were conditioned to survive in environments that disconnect you from your body and your children.

Inside this episode, we explore:
