Welcome back to the Joyful Shaman. I am Naomi, your host with the most, and I am glad to be back with you. I know I've kind of changed my intro quite a bit because, number one, I forget what it is that I say and I've decided to stop doing music because, let's be honest, it's just too much work for me to do with editing. I'm trying to work smarter, not harder. So if you care about those kinds of things, well, you're going to have to get over it. But here I am this week and I wanted to come on because I want to talk today about astrology, and I am not a person that reads charts, even though I know my own chart. I have studied with other astrologers and I'm going to be talking about three astrologers that are highly, highly recommended and I'm going to be putting their information in the description of this episode. But the reason I wanted to come on is America is heavy right now. Over the weekend, for the first time in history, america bombed a nuclear site in Iran and I never, ever thought I would see that in my lifetime first Trump presidency. That was always my biggest fear that he was going to start World War III and Iran was going to like send nuclear missiles to our country, and this weekend a big part of me thought that was going to happen and I had to take a step back, like a real big step back, and do some research, number one to be like is this a reality? And then I realized, okay, well, they can't get to mainland USA, but there are sleeper cells in the US and I totally believe that. I believe that this could incite violence, this could incite something. I don't know if it's going to escalate. I feel like hopefully it was a one and done thing, but right now the world, the US, it is absolute, freaking chaos, and I have been following astrology for so long that I knew that this was coming. Now I can't say like I knew humans were going to behave like this. But the energetic weather I saw that today on social media from an astrologer and I really liked how they wrote that the energetic weather is right for this behavior. So it was almost like we can't tell you what's going to happen. We're going to predict, based on transits and what's happening, with people in charge, the country as a whole as its own entity, its own energy, and the world as a whole, the collective. And so I'm sitting here and I'm like, oh my God, everything that I thought was going to happen, even a year ago, has happened.
Speaker 1:I'm the one that predicted in January that there was going to be riots in June. I also predicted that Trump and I haven't said this out loud, so here's the first time you're hearing it I think he's going to be impeached and possible starts of impeachment could happen this summer. Do I think it's going to come through? I don't know, but he's doing some real heinous shit. So it's a very strong possibility that there could be obviously there's mounting evidence for it, but there could be a strong possibility that someone is going to stand up and say we are bringing forth articles of impeachment towards him. So, that being said, I'm sure all of America just like held their fucking breath this past weekend, including myself, and that just really brought into mind how strong astrology is woven into human behavior.
Speaker 1:Now, I love astrology, um, and those people that work with me know me like I'm. Other conversation is this is what's happening in the transits. It's like just part of my daily speak, but when it comes to astrology, I can really see how the planetary shifts and movements really affect human behavior and it's very mirrored. So the three astrologers I want to talk about, number one is a sweet friend in Chicago. Her name is Sarah Ashley and her business is Sarah Ashley Astrology. She's a tarot reader. She does like soul astrology. She also does Akashic record astrology. I'll put her contact information in there.
Speaker 1:But I had a reading with her last year around Christmas time like a birth chart reading, and then I just recently got my solar return reading within this past week for my birthday and I love talking to her. I love following her on Instagram because she's so real. You know she's not like oh, placating to this and that or whatever, like this is the way it is. Be careful about this. If this is you, you know, change your shit because you're being affected and you know people have free will and everything. But she's just really raw and honest, just like how I tend to be. I still feel like I'm a little bit more gentle in in my delivery sometimes, but I keep it real here on the podcast. So let's just say that.
Speaker 1:But I had my solar return chart done and that is different than a natal chart. So the natal chart is like the day you were born, at the time at the city. It gives you the all-encompassing view about who you are in your astrological soul map. Your solar return is actually based on your birthday of that year, where you are located at the time of your birthday and still I believe you're like birth time as well. So my solar return was June 13th, 2025.
Speaker 1:I was here in Lakeland, florida, and so she pulled all the information and it was very, very interesting because apparently I'm going to be having a very Venusian ninth house year about self-love, caring for myself, going super deep into my spiritual message, my spiritual teachings, traveling nonstop for the retreats and boy is that super happening. And she gave me like a month by month breakdown of what the major transits were in my life, how they're going to affect me, and I'm listening to her and she records all of this via Zoom live and she sends you the recording and then I'm going back and listening to it again and then seeing how it lines up in my life. Like I did not realize that when I planned Mount Shasta, which is July 24th to the 27th, my first retreat that I am leading, like I planned myself, happens to fall on the full moon in Aquarius, which is huge, activating for me brand new ideas and I'm going to be apparently channeling so much on the mountain that I'm like, holy crap, how did I know a year ago, when I had this dream, that this was going to be happening? Obviously my soul knew it was giving me a premonition, but that's how astrology plays into it. And then, when I'm going to Glastonbury, didn't realize I'm going to be in Stonehenge on the day of the partial lunar eclipse. I can't make this shit up and I'm just like, fuck, that's so goddamn powerful. I'm going to be standing on those ley lines, put my hands on the rock. I mean, obviously I want some kind of imaginary outlander situation to happen in my head, but I'm just going to be there channeling that energy, you know.
Speaker 1:And then I had an invitation to go to a retreat leader summit in San Diego in October to give the blessing. I'm still deciding if I want to go or not. I want to make sure it's presence and not performative. And then you know my other retreats around Scorpio season, which is the goddess retreat in Islam, mujeres for the goddess Yishal. It's really embodying a lot of divine, feminine energy and activating that within me. And also a big part of this year is creating joy for the sake of joy and implementing joy into my spiritual work and just having fun and enjoying life and being really creative.
Speaker 1:You know, I do have a bit of a secret and I will share it with you now, because I'm only going to share it on this podcast, because I'm still working on it. It's in the preliminaries, but I am going to be creating my own shamanic oracle healing deck. I'm going to call it Medicine Woman Codes and it will infuse elementals, spirit guides, archetypes and other activation cards in it as well. I call it kind of like my all-in-one tool for someone that is new on the path or long in their path and would like to have something that they have a little bit of everything to help them. It will include affirmations, rituals on every card, a really comprehensive guidebook, and I'm going to be working with a local artist here in my community to do all the artwork for the cards. So that is kind of my big project that I am doing.
Speaker 1:I've never been one to desire to write a book. I still don't. That might change in the future, but I was like why not do an Oracle deck as kind of a way to create something that can be hopefully easily published? Well, spirit and astrology is definitely supporting that, and so I'm excited to see that unfold over the next couple of months. So the solar return I've just been like really really pondering it and reading everything that's happening astrologically right now in the world.
Speaker 1:Uranus and Gemini you know big time Gemini energy. We're in cancer season. We got new moon on Wednesday in cancer, like we just got a whole bunch of stuff going on and I'm just like man, the revolution is just barely getting started. I'm excited to see how it all lines up over the summer, you know. And then I've just been reflecting on my solar return chart and how important it is to understand number one, your natal chart, to understand who you are more than just you know your son.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm a Gemini. I'm a hardcore Gemini in my natal chart. I have to like in, like I'm a hardcore Gemini in my needle chart. I'm Gemini and I have a lot of Gemini placements, but that's not really how I always see myself. I have a very strong Capricorn moon and I have Capricorn in Neptune as well and I have a little bit of Capricorn in my solar return for 2025, but it's mainly a lot of cancer energy in the ninth house. It's a lot in spirituality and deep love and relationships and collaborations and things like that. So really showing up to be seen, really like stepping up, owning my power, my voice, and getting deeper in my medicine and making sure I make a discipline of it. So there's some big differences between solar return and natal birth chart.
Speaker 1:Like I said, I am not an astrologer. So even if this sounds like convoluted or just messy, just know that getting a natal birth chart reading and a solar return reading and a solar return reading every year for your birthday, signs you up and gives you an indication of the energies that you're going to be working, that you're going to be experiencing karma, that you're clearing karma, that you're still working on gifts, talents and possibilities of moves. It's actually in my astrology. As I talked about it with Sarah Ashley, I told her I'm like listen, next summer I'm really done with Florida, I've got to move. And she's like your window of opportunity in your 2026 solar return she's like is going to be July 2026 through October 2026. She's like it is the biggest time for you to make a home move. And I was like great, because that's when I was planning it. So now I have like a blueprint of what I can follow and when I can go and make discovery trips, when I can go and make connections, when the energy is going to be supportive and open for me to make certain steps. I mean, you can't get any clearer than, month by month, how you should be moving in your life and different windows of time that may be beneficial and more supportive for you. That's why I love astrology.
Speaker 1:For a long time, I didn't think that astrology was like a real thing. You know, I was always like on the sidelines. I'm like okay, yeah, cool, I can see the synchronicities and the coincidences. But I can tell you over the years it's just become stronger and stronger in my life that there is absolutely no way that it is not real. Even Mercury retrograde that is 100%, very, very real for all of us, and it starts day one you know.
Speaker 1:So that's Sarah Ashley Astrology, the next astrologer I've worked with. Her name is Jessie Eccles and she's based out of Nebraska Eccles, and she's based out of Nebraska, and I'll put her information on Instagram Now. I did a six month, or almost six month, container with her last year to really heal and learn more about myself. She also does gene keys in human design, which I'm not even going to get into that because it's really difficult to explain, but it is a combination of old esoteric teachings like numerology, the I Ching, kabbalah. That's human design. But human design also infuses astrology elements into it as well.
Speaker 1:So she was helping me really understand myself last year as I was going through six months of just like extreme upheaval and it was really really rough for me because I was preparing to launch the Joyful Shaman and relaunch this podcast as the Joyful Shaman, from like January until really May, and just really wanting to make sure like, is this the right thing for me? You know, these, these are my plans. I wanted to move away from like body work. I wanted to move away from, like this whole old identity and really I was just shutting and that I was getting into retreats and then deciding if I wanted to be in the retreat world. So I was like doing all of this stuff with her and I'm so glad that she navigated everything with me. I still have all the paperwork and everything and I know my human design.
Speaker 1:I'm a six, two profile emotional authority. So if you know, human designed um, I'm supposed to be the exemplary human showing unconditional love, being the teacher, my astrology, my human design, um, and my soul contract based on my name, 100% has me as a shamanic healer, as a teacher, a spiritual guide, a person that has to live their life a little bit harder than other people to be the example and to speak truth. And I hold power in my voice, I hold power in the way that I teach and I can create safe spaces where people are, feel are, can feel seen, be heard and be loved, and so, of course, the spiritual counselor aspect is in every single healing modality that I've ever done. So I know that I am a hundred percent living in my truth. I think it's just about unfolding and me sometimes I say like catching up to the healing um that is already determined by the stars um and by other healing modalities that far exceed my lifespan, um.
Speaker 1:The last astrologer is my amazing friend, tiffany George, and she is based in Austin, texas, and she teaches in person at the Aurora House on astrology and she does astrology classes. She does birth charts. She's also an amazing goddess yoga teacher, so if you are in Austin, you must go take a goddess yoga class. It is phenomenal, you will love it, but she is like an astrology coach as well, so she infuses astrology in with life coaching, and she's also a clothing stylist too. So, you know, I love the way that she teaches because she's just very real, very honest. But she also has a spirituality element of almost putting together like journal prompts with astrology, which I think is really cool because it makes you sit there and think not just okay, can I understand what this transit means? How does this apply to me? Like, how do I possibly feel this energy? And if I don't, what could this transit mean for me, regardless, you know. So those are the three astrologers that I highly recommend, and I'm very excited to see not just my life unfold but to see the collective unfold as well.
Speaker 1:And in shamanic practice, astrology plays a huge component in many indigenous cultures. In the Mayan culture, the entire Mayan calendar is their version of astrology. There is Mayan astrology as well that works a little bit differently with the months and years, and it's so interesting because the Mayan calendar is still really hard to decipher and understand, you know, because it's so ancient. But there's something there that can be seen in regular astrology and in shamanic and Egyptian astrology as well, and in Vedic astrology that is based out of India and Chinese astrology too. There is a lot of overlap in there and I mean, you're talking about cultures and countries and creations of these astrological studies that vary in time and age, and so there's got to be something concrete there Now.
Speaker 1:Whether it's aliens that came down and taught all the people this, that is a very real possibility. I'm not going to knock that. But there's the study of the stars and there's something there about lunation, stars, the galaxy, the planet gravitational pulls and us as people, and this has existed so long, so, so, so long. There has to be something real to it. So I just kind of wanted to bring that into perspective. As to what's happening in the US right now, what's happening in the world, what's happening within the collective of the vibrational energy of people right now and right now is we're really diving into cancer season, like literally the day diving into cancer season, like literally the day after the solstice started. I like cried my head off so great initiation into cancer season and really activating that cancerian year for me with this solar return. But there's something there.
Speaker 1:And if you feel that you want to know more about your personal astrology, like who you are, what your soul purpose is, what your karma is, what your deepest woundings are, what your gifts are, what your strengths are, how to use this, how to work with that energy. Get a natal birth chart reading and get your most recent solar return chart reading for this year. I'm telling you it's going to change your life. It will give you a concrete blueprint to follow and it helps you to really reflect and ponder about who you are.
Speaker 1:I work with so so many people that come to me and are always asking me what is my purpose? I feel stuck, I feel lost, I hate my job and all of this and I want to change my career and my relationships and la la la. And they have merit to them. But it's also like there are so many tools out there that can give you insights from different perspectives and perceptions about all of these questions. It's about knowing what they are and finding access to it with reliable, trustworthy people. These are the three people that I absolutely trust wholeheartedly as accurate and passionate astrologers that are about giving the facts without infusing their opinions into it. They keep it neutral. They keep it as it is. They provide a lot of information on their. They provide a lot of information on their social media a lot of information on their websites and it merits an experience to at least learn and see how it resonates with you.
Speaker 1:Not everybody's going to resonate with astrology. My sister always rolls her eyes at me when I talk about it. She's just like God, you and your gobbledygook. But it's very real and it's very real to me and that is my truth. And it's taken me probably until, honestly, this year to really believe astrology is very real and I am living it literally week by week, month by month, and it blows my mind every day and it's just part of my studies, part of my discipline. Helps me to check in with myself, keep myself accountable and give myself realistic timelines and timeframes for projects, for connections, to be wary of things, especially when I'm traveling. You know, some of it might be like, hey, you might get rerouted. Hey, your luggage might get sent somewhere else. Hey, you know, you just got to be down with it and plan things if I want to experience that more or maybe minimize the possibility of it. You know, like I said, astrology creates energetic weather for things. You take aligned action to make things happen. There's just maybe better supportive windows of time so that it's maybe not as difficult and you can see quicker results. So that's my view on astrology Right now.
Speaker 1:I am just taking a break right from social media this week because, as much as I can, at least from like the news and stuff, I have found some really cool music, um, from this incredible young artist who is very dashing and, um, he is English. Um, so all of you that listen to me in the UK, I'm sure you know who this is, if you love rock music, if you love punk music and I grew up on classic rock and punk rock music is Youngblood and he has a new album out now that just got released on Friday, june 20th Idles, and I was listening to it. Like my Facebook algorithm feed just started showing me all these videos and I'm like, who is this handsome young guy Like oof, you know, dark romance boy, and I listened to the album over this weekend and, wow, so powerful. And I was watching some of like the old videos and listening to some of his old music and I remember hearing about Youngblood about five, six years ago, like on the indie rock station and I was like, wow, this kid. You know he sounds really different. You know he's infusing hip hop and punk. You know, he has that heavy Northern accent, um, which is really unique, you know, and his singing, and I was just like, wow, you know, I hope this kid goes somewhere.
Speaker 1:You know, and I have I don't always listen to, like the indie rock station and stuff like that, but this weekend, like his videos popped up and I was like, oh, wow, that's that kid, you know, and I was like man, this kid grew up. You know, I'm 10 years older than him, but you know, a guy that's nice on the eyes doesn't hurt. And so I was listening to his album and, wow, you can hear the Cure, you can hear David Bowie, you can hear Iggy Pop, you can hear some Led Zeppelin, you can definitely hear Queen. You can hear some Led Zeppelin, you can definitely hear Queen, you hear. So you hear U2 in it, like so many amazing artists' sounds and just the use of his instrumentation with live orchestra, the raspiness of his voice and, you know, do I feel like he's like the best melodic singer? No, but he has a unique way of singing that is really cool with all of these sounds, and I think he really loves David Bowie because he has a few songs on there that I was just like, wow, this is like David Bowie incarnated into this young man's voice. I hear it. So I did a really ballsy thing.
Speaker 1:I think I was just very much in my cancer feels. I never message people like celebrities on social media, public figures. I don't really follow any of them, I just don't feel the need to. I'm not following him because then I would just like go off the deep end in my cancer season right now. But I did send him a message, you know, and I was just like I've got to say like I just found your music. I think this is really powerful, I think it resonates with a lot of people. It's beautiful how he's singing experiences of his life. Like I feel like it's a journey of self.
Speaker 1:And then I kind of looked a little bit of information about him and he's always talking about he's 27. Well, he's about to be 28. And here's a little astrology tidbit that ties into you know, my weekend fandom over here he's about to enter what's called his Saturn return and he's already been feeling it and this album is a representation of his journey thus far. And, as a spiritual person, looking at somebody that is in the public eye, and you can sense that he struggles with mental health, as we all do, and just trying to be true to himself and work on knowing who he is and standing in his truth and healing wounds within himself. This album screams Saturn Return.
Speaker 1:Saturn Return is when you turn 28 or 29, depending on when your birthday lands and it is the initiation of the universe of spirit, saying welcome to spiritual adulthood. Your life is about to get flipped upside down. You know. Relationships may end, big things may happen. You're questioning everything about yourself and it's just like welcome to actually being an adult. You're now fully conscious, hopefully. You need to be aware and you've got to start making some changes to align yourself to your true path, to who you really are, and I feel like this album is the start of that and I'm just really curious to see where he will go in the next couple of years.
Speaker 1:You don't have another saturn return until you're 51 and 52 again. So those of you that are listening, that are around those ages if major things are happening in your life and you're like what the fuck? You're going to have your second Saturn return when you are in your thirties. And this is very much what Carrie Bradshaw said in Sex and the City. Your thirties are for lessons, and that is very true as someone who is 38 and in a tower year, so to speak, but still the self-love year, your 30s. You're going to experience huge changes, from 35 to 42, it's going to be your hardest time in your life because it's a great spiritual awakening. So marriages, divorces, sickness, moves, accidents, career changes and you having to completely deconstruct your life and come back into alignment if you haven't been doing the work since your Saturn return. So seeing someone like that, I'm just like. You know he's just becoming very, very conscious and I hope that other people, other performers, other athletes, celebrities are being as conscious as he is. And he does a lot of work with people Like I think he has a foundation, works with a foundation for mental health and does so much for his diehard fans, especially in England, and I think that's really beautiful and really refreshing because his generation is all about positivity and working through your shit and facing your shit and building community and being there for people.
Speaker 1:You know, I grew up with those classic rock albums which I still have in vinyl in my office that I listened to, you know, and I grew up with pop punk, but I also loved old school punk, you know, like the Smiths and the Ramones. Like put that on on a rainy day and I'm just like in it, you know, and like fucking the cure. Just put red lipstick on and just dishevel my hair and I'm listening to it. But I can tell you like, for me growing up it was Green Day's Dookie album their 1994 album and Jimmy World's Bleed American album is what got me through in my teenage years. So I feel like Youngblood is the younger generation's version of all of that that we had, you know, growing up, that we inherited, that our parents showed us, um, you know, through music, we had cool parents like that.
Speaker 1:Um, I think that he's that person and I I'm just really happy that there's more musical talent that is leaning and reflecting on past musicians and bringing in this positive message. So just another tie-in with music. I know that's off topic around astrology, but I just wanted to share that because I was like wow, that was really big of me to send a message and he may never see it and I may never get a response and God bless them. You know, I know what it's like to work with celebrities. I work with celebrities for five years as a massage therapist in the early part of my career, so I know what their world is like, and that would be super hard. And who's to say I might work with celebrities again as a shamanic healer you never know but I'm just really happy to see people at that age being so much more conscious and awake. So that's what I've got for you.
