What if you already have everything you need to be confident? In this powerful conversation with confidence coach Star, we explore how to unlock the self-worth that's been inside you all along.

Star shares her remarkable journey from someone who struggled with confidence to becoming a beacon of light for others. "I didn't always have confidence," she reveals, describing how past relationships and criticism led her to question her worth. But through persistent self-work and affirmations, she discovered her true value – and now helps women do the same.

As a personal trainer who evolved into a confidence coach, Star noticed something profound: while clients initially sought physical transformation, their greatest needs were often mental and emotional. "It's good to be healthy, it's good to take care of your body," she explains, "but if you're not taking care of your mind, then what are we doing here?" This holistic approach helps women recognize that confidence comes from within, not from external validation or appearance.

The conversation offers practical confidence-building strategies anyone can implement. From daily affirmations ("you are beautiful, you are smart") to setting boundaries ("stop letting people walk on you"), Star provides actionable steps that transformed her life. Perhaps most powerful is her commitment to community-building through "Baddies Breakfast Club," bringing women together to form meaningful connections across all life stages.

Ready to transform your relationship with yourself? Listen now and discover why Star believes "when a woman has confidence, you cannot touch her." Your journey to unshakable self-worth starts here.

Speaker 1:

You're listening to Confidently Beautiful with Sierra, a podcast to help you stay confidently beautiful, because we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out and I'm here to show you how Body image, dreams, parenting, style, personality and more. Here we cover it all. Get ready to stay confidently beautiful. All right, welcome back to the Confidently Beautiful podcast. I am your host, sierra, and I'm so happy that you tuned in to listen. Today I have a very special guest. Her name is Star and she is a confidence promoter. She's a personal trainer, she has so much to offer women and she helps women to feel like their best selves. And, star, I am so excited to hear from you. Can you just tell our listeners a little bit about you?

Speaker 2:

All right. Well, my name is Star. I grew up here in St George, utah, and I've known Ciara for quite some time. I went to Dixie High School. I was on the soccer team. I ran track. I went on to run in college. College led me to go to Weber State and from there I just realized I don't really want to run track, but that got me into personal training. So right now I'm into personal training. I'm a personal trainer and now a confidence coach.

Speaker 2:

One thing I have always loved is to just help people. I knew I had one goal and that was to spread light. My name is the one thing that I think I just live by. I'm just a light for others. I just want to help others. I want to help others see that they're enough, that they're beautiful, that they're handsome, that they are enough, and that's one thing I take pride in.

Speaker 2:

I didn't always have confidence. Confidence came from multiple experiences with, I guess, just my dating situation, where I felt like I wasn't enough. People told me I wasn't beautiful, I wasn't smart. They made me feel like I wasn't good enough. That's one thing I made. A mission was to first of all make sure I knew that I was beautiful that I was strong, that I was worthy, that I was enough. Once I finally got that confidence up, I was like, wow, now you start sharing it to the world. And that's when I really started pouring into people and where I knew I actually have a brand.

Speaker 2:

I'm writing a poetry book. It's called Pure Heart, and I realized my heart is pure. I'm not a bad person, I am a good person. I want what's best in the world, and so I think confidence was what I was meant to share with the world. It's what people need. Everybody needs confidence. Everybody needs to know that they're enough, come in and they're always trying to work on their physique, but a lot of people need their mental health worked on too. They need to know that just because you're working out, it's good, it's good to be healthy, it's good to take care of your body, but if you're not taking care of your mind, then what are we doing here?

Speaker 1:

That's so true. I just did another interview with a nutritionist and she was talking about that very thing, like how there is so much that like nutrition and I'm sure it's the same for exercise it does for you more mentally than we realize, like there is a lot that goes on in the mental part.

Speaker 2:

So yes, there is the. It's a battle, but I, when I see my clients start to feel good about themselves, their confidence goes up and it's such a beautiful thing to see, because even today I had this client come in and she still came into the gym but she was crying over a man and it's okay. But it's like she's getting more confident and realizing that she can do this. She, she can do hard things, and I think that's what my favorite part about personal training is is just seeing people fight through the battles of their day-to-day life, but still choosing themselves, and I love to see people choose themselves. It's one thing I love and I want to help more people understand is that you are worthy. You wake up today, no matter. You don't have to be anything, you don't have to say this or do anything to be enough, and that's just what I want the world to know.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I really love that you, you are your name, you are a star, and so thank you for sharing that with the world, and you know how many more people feel that way. It's so important. So let's go a little bit back to your business side. So you talked a little bit about why you kind of went into this, which I think is an amazing, amazing path to take your career, but you started as a personal trainer, so tell us a little bit about your personal training. Who do you train?

Speaker 2:

Like any experiences that you've had like that have helped you to be able to teach more people about confidence in, specifically in your training gym and this guy who believed in me and saw that I could really help people, he took me to his private gym and I started training people and I realized that first I like to train kids too, but most importantly women. I really like to train women. And so I was at that gym for a while and then I stopped training and then I got into my own business because I was under him and then I realized I was thinking to myself am I even good at this? Do people even want me? I was like I don't know and I would pray about it. I was like God, like is this for me? Should I personal train?

Speaker 2:

And then one day I had somebody hit me up and she was just like hey, I'm trying to feel more confident. And I was like, girl, I got you because I have, in the time, been working on my confidence. I took a time for myself to really pour into me and I felt like in my training, personal training was like my gateway to really like talk to people and help them know that they are enough. So once I started training women, it's really when I saw women really need it, like women need to know that they are beautiful, that they are strong. I don't care if you're big, skinny, tall, short, it doesn't matter. And so personal training was really just the gateway to opening up my confidence. Coaching.

Speaker 1:

Personal training was like the perfect gateway into your confidence coaching. So now tell us what are you doing with your confidence coaching? How are you helping women? Who are you specifically trying to help?

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I'm trying to help all women and so I would go for my youngest. I was just training a very 16-year-old girl and she is very much. She's very aware, actually more aware than I. Felt like I was at 16. And she felt like she wasn't good enough and she'd be like I'm ugly and I look like this and I just want this.

Speaker 2:

My nose is too big and as as somebody who's such a young client of mine, but I was like girl, like you don't even see your beauty, you don't understand that you are more than enough, because everyone needs to know. Hey, what you're doing is enough. Who you are is enough. You are beautiful, you are strong, you are doing enough for your kids, you are doing enough for your husband. And I realized that there is not a range that I cut off at. I don't care if you're 95. I don't care if you're 14. I feel like all women specifically need to know and that's not the cutoff myth but I'm a girl's, girl, I am all for the girls and I just think that girls need to band together and we don't need to be jealous of each other. We just need to know that we are strong individuals and once we get our. When woman has confidence, you cannot touch her. You cannot touch a confident woman, you cannot tell a confident woman nothing. And so, just working with women and realizing that this is truly the path I want to go on, I really want to work with all ranges of women and when I work with them, I really help them to understand.

Speaker 2:

Firstly, like, why don't you feel like you're enough? And that's really the first question I ask them is what is it in you that you feel is not worthy? Like, why don't you feel good enough? And they're always like oh, I'm my weight or I look like, it's like an outside thing. Okay, that's something you can fix. Everybody thinks it's outside things that make them or they feel like they have to be enough because they don't look like this. So let me change this. It's not outside, it's all inside. You are all worthy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I have a slogan here on the podcast and with my business is we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out. So that sounds like you are perfectly doing that Like and you know, we're all born. We're not born like feeling, like we're not worthy, we're not enough right, it's there, like it's born in us. We just need to like, let it shine and bring it out, and so I think that is a really great message. So what do you do specifically in your coaching? Do you have like a specific practice you take people through, or what are you? What are you doing right now?

Speaker 2:

Honestly, I just it's really based off of the person I really like to gauge how they're feeling, what. What's going on in their life. So, like for a 16 year old, I just try to understand what is it going? What's going on in your life? I just I try to be friends to them. I'm not really so much so somebody who's like, okay, we're going to do this, this and this, it's really just conversation.

Speaker 2:

I really just kind of go through and I try to understand where you're lacking so much love or why you don't feel enough, and I think I just go off of that. So if a woman comes to me and she's like I don't feel like I'm good enough because I feel like I can't do anything right, and it's like, okay, you don't feel like you can do anything right, do you? Do you know what you do do right? And they can name those things and I really just try to feed off that.

Speaker 2:

I try to let my clients know that I know that you all feel like you have lacking somewhere, but what I try to steer their attention back to is where they are great, because we all have lack and we all we're not perfect human beings but you need to start recognizing where you are good at, where you are strong at, and I just try to point them towards those strong suits and then we just work off of that and then I just try to go know a little bit more about them. It's just not like a learning experience just to talk and I don't really want people to feel like it's something like I'm I'm just sitting there and I need to know everything about you and I'm writing it all down on paper like a therapist, like I just want to have a conversation and understand you and that's what I seek to do with all my clients is just to understand and help. So it's just it kind of varies.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, that's really good. So you talked a little bit at the beginning of like your personal confidence journey and how you were struggling with some confidence early on. Were there some specific things that you did that helped you and your confidence to grow that maybe people listening who are struggling with confidence in certain areas could take and they could implement into their life?

Speaker 2:

So when I was working on my own confidence, I started looking at myself and I started to be like you are a beautiful star, like you are smart because I always got told that I was not smart and I believed them. I used to believe them. So I really started doing affirmations like you are beautiful star, you are smart star, you are smart, you are strong star. People love you, people care for you. And I just really started doing those affirmations over and over again and it was honestly just some little situations where if I didn't feel good, I would speak up about it. And that's where confidence comes in. Like somebody says something to me that's disrespectful to me, but I didn't like that. Don't say that to me. You're not going to speak to me like that. I'm not disrespectful.

Speaker 2:

But I started standing my ground a little bit more. That's also something I found to be very helpful with my confidence. Standing your ground and not letting people walk all over you is like the number one thing I will tell people. Stop letting people walk on you. You don't have to be disrespectful, but what you will do is clock anybody who feels like they can put you down, because once you know that, you can be a good person but also a stern person, and I just think that's where a lot of confidence comes in. I used to let people walk all over me, walk all over me, and it was crazy. I was like, wow, I was such a timid star. I really used to just back down to anything that would slightly scare me. Not, no more, not anymore Watch out world.

Speaker 2:

Watch out. I'm coming for you Cause you huh, what did you say about me? Yeah, let's talk about it real quick. So it's really just. It was truly a beautiful journey a lot of crying, and I will say this it takes a lot of time alone to find that confidence in yourself. I spent a lot of time alone and kind of just praying and finding that peace within myself. It's a beautiful thing to think about. I can remember going through hard times and being like this needs to happen, this has to happen, and I was picking myself back up and it was really just me never giving up on myself, and that's where my confidence grew. I didn't give up on me. I'll never speak down on myself. I really try to catch myself, and so that's also in the process of growing and becoming more confident. I'm watching the words that I speak out of my mouth about myself, because if I can't speak good about me, why do I expect others to speak good about me? And why would they, as long as I love me, speak good about me? I'm good.

Speaker 1:

A lot of stillness, a lot of alone time, time with yourself, getting to know yourself. It sounds like it was a journey, a long one, yeah. Yeah, I think we all are going to always be on it, cause I feel like in life you feel confident in like a certain area and then something happens, like you know, something's thrown at you or something changes with you or with your circumstances, and you're going to maybe have to like go through that journey again, because it's going to be a constant thing, and I think there's never like confidence isn't like a destination, like we're always on that journey to confidence, and I think that's a good example of that it definitely is an ongoing journey.

Speaker 2:

It's a beautiful journey, though.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I would call it a beautiful, beautiful pain sometimes. Yes, yes, yes, cause it sometimes can be painful, but it is beautiful. Yes, yeah, I agree, you just started a group. Do you want to tell us about your group that you just oh?

Speaker 2:

my gosh. If you live in St George Utah, listen up, ladies, because this is for you, okay. So I just group. It's called baddie's breakfast club and it is for all women, all ages. Of course, if you're like 12, your mom needs to come, but other than that, you're good to go. It is for women who want to get together. We go on walks. I'm trying to do it at least two times um the week in the week, on tuesday and saturday right now. So this saturday we are going on a walk for an hour and we are going to start with the farmer's market. But this group is going to be like sisterhood. We're going to do activities, we're going to plan travel trips, we're going to have little activities where we have friends giving and we're going to decorate for the holiday season or maybe go to the pumpkin patches together. It's just a group of women on the internet they all came from the internet, from TikTok who are telling me I need more friends in St George Utah, and I didn't know that all of us were struggling.

Speaker 2:

I'm working upon myself to create a group of women who can just come together and support one another, show love, and I am also in there just encouraging these women. I have created from that group a 75-part group. So I have created from that group a 75 hard group. So I have women who are in there doing 75 hard. And if you don't know what that is, it's where you stick to a diet plan. Two workouts, one in the one, no two 45 minute workouts. One has to be outside, drink a gallon of water, read 10 pages of a nonfiction book, take progress pictures. I think I already said that. Stick to a diet plan, no alcohol. And I have women who are doing this. We also have a book club group in the midst of this group. So it's just like we have these little groups among the big group where women are finding what they like and we're creating groups from it and we're just making sisterhood, making friends, making memories. And I'm just so excited for I created this and it's more than I could ever imagine just to have women who can come together.

Speaker 2:

Moms, all these moms are bringing their kids in the strollers, going on walks because they don't get out the house. You know, some moms are always at home with the kids. It's all my, bring your kids. I want everyone to know they're welcome. I don't care if you're 95, 16. I want you all to come and feel welcome and that's what the main purpose of my, my group is. Baddies breakfast club for all the baddies I love that.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so you're gonna have, like you know, if you're bringing in all these different interests, you're gonna have a lot of groups going on. Are you gonna be? I know, I'm just groups.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't run all the groups, so some of the girls like there's a girl who runs the book club group, so I don't run all of them. Thank goodness, not I you're like.

Speaker 2:

I can't do that. Some girls are like you guys have plants, let's, let's talk about our plants, and so they have that group. But I've known a lot of people have branched off into um a lot of their interests and it's just been a space where you can find your group of people too. So I think that's what's been fun to see is, uh, girls find their space and it's like, okay, well, maybe you guys aren't so interested in 10, five or four, but you guys like to read or you guys are interested in plans, so it's just cool. It's cool. I love that I'm creating a space for people who can really make some friends. I think that's my most important goal, that's my biggest goal is to have women who can just have someone.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because I think if you have someone, your confidence grows Exactly. Yeah, you do need to, like you said, you need to spend time alone and to help, to help kill your confidence, but I think eventually you need people you know to help you continue to grow with that. So that's, that's a beautiful thing you've created, so congratulations.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited, thank you, thank you, and I hope to have more enjoying. We have more joining every day and the TikTok keeps just getting more and more comments. It's hard for me to even keep up. I'm like, wow, this is hard, but I'm excited, it's going to be worth it. I'm trying to make some shirts, that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

All right, well, I will include it in the show notes, like how they can get involved in that group, but can you tell us, like where they, where they could go to try and find this group?

Speaker 2:

So if you go onto Tik TOK, it's called star fit, underscore 23. Um, and there's going to be a lot of QR codes. You can personally message me if you really want. If it doesn't work for you, but you have to download telegram. That's the first thing you have to do, um, and then from there you need to go onto my page, screenshot it and then go to your camera, hold it down. It's going to take you to the link. It's going to say, like Safari, you'll click that and then it should take you into the group.

Speaker 2:

The code is the easiest way, but again, if you really are interested, I would just say from podcast, that would be the easiest way for me to know that you are somebody who hasn't seen it from my TikTok but you're interested in the group still. Or Instagram, you can message me on there and I can just send you the link directly. That'll be a lot easier and my name on there is fitstar, underscore 23. And, yeah, just message me and say you want to be in the group and I will add you in and it will be as simple as that. Make sure you got it downloaded, though. I've been having to preach that to all these women. They're like it's not working. Is the app downloaded?

Speaker 1:

No Telegram.

Speaker 2:

All right, I can't do that one for you, but yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, so Telegram is how you're going to communicate, how you're going to tell people about all the events and the different groups, and all that.

Speaker 2:

Oh yes, we have a Facebook group. It's also called Daddy's Breakfast Club, so if you want to even join that, you can do that as well, and that is the name, okay.

Speaker 1:

I will include all of those links in the show notes of this episode. So if you're listening to this episode, you can just click on the show notes and there should be links there so that you can get them. But you can also reach out to me or Star and we can help you out. But thank you so much, star. This was so good. One thing I like to ask all of my guests is what is one thing that you try and do every day to help your confidence?

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I go on walks. I go on walks every day and it's really when I cross the street because people are watching you, I try to keep my head up high, I try not to look on my phone and I just walk, and that's just one thing I do on all my walks. Whenever I cross the street, I keep my head up high and I tell myself this is your world, this is your world. Well, I sound cocky, but this is my world. You guys are all just living in it. But in your, your world, I'm just living in it.

Speaker 2:

That's the one thing I do every day and I think that helps my confidence a lot, because I it's kind of scary walking across the street. I don't care what anybody says that is, and that's just one thing I do that helps build my confidence. Don't look at your phone. Keep your head up, maybe even look around, stare at somebody straight in the eyes in their car, like that is something that I see, I love to do, and I also do affirmations every day in the mirror as well.

Speaker 2:

Um, starting off like I am beautiful, I am enough, miracles happen for me, um, abundance is always flowing to me, um, things like that, just to help me know well, just to help me remind myself that good things are coming, I'm doing what I can do every day, but, most importantly, that I'm beautiful and that I am enough. And those are the two words that I love to say to myself you are beautiful, you are enough, and if you're listening to this podcast, know that you're beautiful, know that you're enough and you're worthy, and you don't have to do anything but wake up and be yourself. Thank you, star. Thank you for being here. Thank you, it's been a pleasure.

Speaker 1:
