Confidence doesn’t require a full makeover or a packed calendar—it grows from small, seasonal tweaks that actually fit your life. As the air cools and routines shift, we walk through four simple, high-impact changes that help you feel grounded, radiant, and genuinely you: a smarter beauty refresh, practical mindset shifts, light-touch routine upgrades, and easy style swaps you’ll want to repeat.

We start with skin that can handle fall’s drier air—think richer moisturizers, hydrating serums or primers, and gentle exfoliation that makes makeup glide. From there, we explore low-effort updates that still feel fresh: berry or burnt orange lips, deep green nails, and lived-in hair color with face-framing brightness. If you’re toying with change, we break down approachable trends like French layers, rich brunette, copper hues, and polished bobs, plus a simple way to make weekly masking actually happen.

Next, we turn to mindset—the quiet engine of confidence. Micro-affirmations posted where you’ll see them, an evening gratitude routine that calms anxious spirals, and ten-minute yoga or breathwork sessions that reset your nervous system. You’ll hear why reframing “I have to” into “I choose to” creates instant agency and how short morning walks compound into steadier energy. Then we layer in routine tweaks that stick: a candle-lit evening window that signals wind-down, a weekend reset with seasonal outings like pumpkin patches or a family park bucket list, and quick outdoor movement breaks that sharpen focus.

Finally, we make style effortless: sweaters and leggings, boots, textured knits, and cozy two-piece sets that feel like pajamas but look pulled together. We share specific pieces we love, how to rotate rich fall hues like burgundy and forest green, and why fewer, better options make getting dressed faster and more fun. By the end, you’ll have a choose-one-from-each-list plan that makes fall feel lighter, calmer, and more confident—without the overwhelm.

If this helped, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a fall boost, and leave a quick review to help others find us. Tell me: which small shift are you trying first?

SPEAKER_00:

You are listening to Confidently Beautiful with Sierra, a podcast to help you stay confidently beautiful because we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out, and I'm here to show you how. Body image, dreams, parenting style, personality, and more. Here we cover it all. Get ready to stay confidently beautiful. But I am loving this pumpkin spice and everything nice that is coming along with this season. I've already been enjoying all the pumpkin things, including the mini pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from Swig, but I am just itching to get out my cozy sweaters and my leggings and enjoy like the cooler mornings. We are getting little bits of glimpses of it, but it is still 80 degrees here. But since it finally dropped down this week, I am just enjoying what I can get of the little bit of cooler weather, but I'm also a little bit sad to see the warmness go away because I love it so much. So I just I just can never be happy apparently. I just want to I just want a little bit of everything. Today we're going to dive into four simple ways that you can feel your best this fall. A beauty refresh, confidence mindset shifts, new routines, and easy, simple style swaps. Let's dive in first to the beauty refresh. Switch your moisturizer for something that is richer and maybe add like a hydrating serum or a hydrating face primer before you put on your makeup. Your skin is just going to be craving that moisture the more we get into winter. So as we're getting in these cooler months of fall, make sure you're giving your skin the hydration that it needs. Another fun way for a beauty refresh this fall is to do a weekly face mask or like a little at-home spa ritual. A tip to get this done is to leave your mask in the shower. So that way when you're in the shower and you have a few extra minutes, you can throw on a face mask and just have like that little nice feeling of being at the spa quickly at home. Or another thing would be to pick a masking day. So you know, every Sunday night is going to be masking night or whatever day it is for you, then you know that you are going to have that little break and that little pick me up with your fall beauty refresh. Another one that I thought was so fun as I was preparing this episode was to look up the seasonal hair trends that are going on right now. So I found an article on instyle.com and it had the nine fall hair trends. Suede blonde was one of the popular ones. French layers. So this is like long layers where you have the longer hair and longer layers in your hair. Rich brunette, which I feel like is a classic fall color. Polished bobs. I don't know that I could ever go for a bob, but that is in right now. I used to have, it was actually probably more of like a pixie cut, which is the next one, the tailored pixie. Except for it wasn't quite pixie. It was like it was to my chin, and that is the shortest I have ever gone, and that was like right out of high school. So that was a long time ago. Um, but polished bobs and tailored pixies, those are both in this fall. Soft caramel is another color, and copper hues. Those two shades are in this fall, and Birkin Bangs. So this is like the soft lash grazing fringe bangs that would probably drive me crazy because they would just be touching my lashes all day long. But this is very, very trendy this fall, and a lived-in color look. This is actually more of like what I currently have, so I was happy to see that hear this because I'm actually sticking to the trends, which I very apparently rarely do. Um, I just do it whenever I'm liking, but this one is a very popular trend this fall. It's like the natural through the roots and your mid length, and then a little bit of blonde on the ends of your hair and around your face. Fun seasonal nails or lip color swaps are a really easy way to just feel fresh and up to current trends this fall. So you can go for berries or burnt orange, deep greens. That's a really, really easy way to freshen up your beauty routine this fall. What I have been doing with my beauty refresh this fall is I'm wearing more browns, greens, burgundies. I'm focusing on the warmer colors for my nails. And I have started trying to paint my nails each Sunday night. It has brought me so much happiness throughout the week as I can look down and see that my nails are beautifully painted. And I've I never thought it would bring me so much joy, but I am not one who's ever gotten my nails done regularly. I would love to do that someday, but it's just not for me right now. And um, but having that little DIY nail painting every Sunday night, and then having being able to look at it throughout the week has brought me so much joy. I have loved that. So that is one of my fall refresh things that I'm doing. Another thing is I keep Crystal Ball in my shower. This is a face mask, it's like an at-home microderm abrasion treatment, and it's exfoliating, and I keep that in my shower. I keep it in my shower year round, but I usually only do it like once a week, like typically on Sunday nights is when I would do that face mask. But in the fall and winter months, I up it to two times a week, and my skin definitely needs it because it's just drier, and so I need to get all of that dead skin off. And I love the way that it makes my skin feel, and it also helps my makeup lay so much better. So I will include a link to that in the show notes if you want to try that out. Once your skin and hair feel refreshed, it's amazing how much more confident you feel. That brings us into our next tip, which is confident mindset shifts for this fall. Small mental shifts can bring a huge big confidence boost. There is something about this time of year I feel like we get it a few different times of year. We get it in January as the new year comes, we get it in August as the new school year is coming, and we also, I feel like, get it at the brand new times of new seasons. So we're entering the holiday season, we're entering fall, and so it is a perfect time to have a mindset shift. So some easy things that you can do are just little daily micro affirmations. So put sticky notes where you can see them, or have a timer come up on your phone with a reminder that has like an affirmation on it, something that can have just little daily micro affirmations. So start your sentence with I and then whatever it is, just to feel help you to feel empowered. So like I am strong and confident you could do something like that and just have these little daily micro affirmations either on sticky notes throughout the house where you'll see them through the day or in your car, or have your reminders on your phone pop up like every so often with an affirmation. That can be a really good confidence mindset shift and help you to boost your confidence this fall. Another one is gratitude journaling or like a self-reflection journaling. So more this is different than just like your today. I did this and this and this and this. It's not just a daily reflection, it's more of thinking of specific things you are gr grateful for or self-reflection of like areas in your life that you felt proud, where you felt confident, where you felt like you were appreciating yourself and grateful for who you are. So if you can focus on self-appreciation this time of year, then that can be a really good mindset shift. And I have actually started to do my gratitude journaling at night instead of in the mornings, and I have found that it has helped me to calm my mind before I go to sleep and to focus on something good right before I go to sleep has helped me to sleep better and to wake up with less anxiety and just to feel more confident in myself. Another thing is yoga or meditation. There's something about like this time of year, especially with uh yoga or just breathing and meditation. I love to do this before bed. Um, there's Apple Fitness has like the best yoga practices, and they have some really, really great ones that are only 10 minutes long. So on nights where I'm feeling tense, I can just put on a yoga practice on my Apple Fitness and just do 10 minutes, and I feel so much better. And I feel like it's very grounding for this time of year where we are so busy. Speaking of being so busy, you can reframe your I have to blah blah blah blah blah into I choose to. So change that I have to language to I choose to, but also at the same time be mindful about what we are choosing. So yeah, there are some things that we have to do, there, but there's also some things that we get to choose to do or we get to choose not to do. So just to be mindful about what we choose and then to reframe that language to I choose to do this instead of I have to. And then embrace imperfection this season. This season is crazy busy. There's going to be a lot of stuff happening, and there's gonna be some balls that are dropped and some things that aren't done that we want to be done, but if we can just celebrate real moments and be grateful for those cozy, beautiful fall moments that we do get. I have started most of my weekday mornings with a walk, which has been really nice because the cooler weather is here, and so I don't feel like I am going to melt the second I walk out the door. And so I have started getting my kids out, my older kids off to school, and then starting my mornings with a walk. And the cooler, cooler weather has really been helpful for that. And I've noticed a huge shift in my mindset throughout the day. If I can start my morning with a walk, and I just feel so much better by getting outside in the sunshine and getting that walk-in. So feeling confident is easier when we support ourselves with little daily routines, which brings us into the third way that we can feel our best this fall, and that is with new routines. It is a new season, so let's put in some new routines. It doesn't have to be hard, they can be simple, but they can be like a refresh, and um, as the season is changing, our routines can change a little bit, which can help us to feel not like we're doing the same mundane thing all the time, but that we are getting a boost of energy and focus and calm. So some morning ritual tweaks. Think about your current morning routine. What are you currently doing? What could you tweak? Like, could you add like a five, ten-minute stretch? Could you add some journaling? Could you add listening to a specific type of podcast or specific type of audiobook or maybe a talk that you enjoy? Could you add something like that to your routine? Could you add some mindfulness? What's something that you could just add to your routine, or maybe take something out of your routine and replace it with something different as we are in this new season of the year? And then another thing that I have started to do that I've loved is to have an evening window. I always seems like have an evening routine, but something that I have started to put into place this fall is to light a candle with my evening window. So I'm doing my exact same routine that I typically always do, but I've just started it by lighting a candle, and of course it's a pumpkin candle, and I have that pumpkin spice smell, and that has been a really great evening routine for me. A weekend reset. I'm focusing a lot this fall to not just use weekends to like be productive and have it as like this is a great way to tackle my to-do list. I have the whole weekend, but I am trying to do something that is like seasonally fun. So something that is fall-like. I want to try and do every weekend. So corn maize, pumpkin patch, go hiking, have my little boy and my husband go fishing, like something that is like specific to fall. I am really trying to put that into my weekend and to bring that fall season to our week as we finish out the week and then start a new week. Quick movement breaks during the day because it is cooler outside, we can actually get outside more. My little boys have been playing outside basically every single morning, all morning long, and I have loved it because I can have the door open a little bit, we can feel hear the birds and have the cooler air early in the mornings, and of course, it's just gonna get cooler as the days go on, and I can also take time during the day to just take quick movement breaks, whether that's just walking to the mailbox in the afternoon or doing something where I can actually get outside because it's not so hot out there now, and I can enjoy those little breaks. And then another thing that I, of course, am doing that I'm sure everyone is doing, is I am adding cozy, healthy fall soup recipes. I went to the grocery store the other day because I was making a soup, and it was a perfect, like it was a stormy day. It was like our first stormy day of the fall, and I was like, oh, I should go and get some more rolls because I had put some out that I had in the freezer, but I only had a few, and I was like, I'm gonna want some more. And so I went to the store hoping to find rolls, and of course, all the rolls were gone because I think everyone had the same idea that I had, and everyone was making soup on that rainy day. Uh, but it is the perfect time to just bring out some of your favorite fall recipes. Mine are always soups, that's like my default. I love soups, and I have soups all year round, even when it's 115 degrees outside. I'm just crazy like that, and I love to make soups, but having soups in the fall is the best. So, something else that my family is doing this fall, kind of going with like our weekend reset that I'm trying to do, is we are going to try and visit from now until the end of the year. I don't know if we're gonna be able to do it because there are a lot of them, but maybe we will. We are going to try and visit every park like in our area, so like within like a 30-minute radius of where we live, we want to visit all of the parks. And we're gonna have like a park bucket list, and I want to take pictures of the kids in front of each park, each playground. And at the end of the season, we will make a book that has like all the pictures of us at all of the parks, and I'm really excited to do that this fall. And once your body and your mind are feeling supported by refreshed routines, it's time to make a few simple and easy style swaps to fully embrace this season. So, of course, style swaps are what we want to do as we are transitioning from this summer to the fall season, but we want it to be effortless, we want it to be easy wardrobe updates that just incre instantly increase our confidence and our joy. You can swap out your summer dresses for more sweaters and leggings. All the oversized sweaters and leggings is like my favorite fall look ever, and I don't think I can ever get rid of that. I love it. You could, if you're into scarves, you could pull out your scarves, you can pull out your beanies. Uh boots are my definite go-to. I love wearing boots in the fall. And you can, like I said earlier, transition your bright happy colors to more of the rich fall hues, like the burgundy and the mustard and the forest green, and you can upgrade your loungewear, which is like another thing that I love about fall, is I can have those comfy two-piece sets that I just love, and they can be comfy yet still chic and elegant, and I love two-piece sets so much. And you can also think about different textures this fall, like maybe pull out some of your velvet material clothing or your knits. I love the knits in the fall. My personal favorite two-piece set from Amazon. It's a navy blue two-piece sweat set, and I love it. It is so comfy and it, but yeah, it's like so cute. I can have it really casual and wear it down, but I can also kind of dress it up and make it a little bit nicer. So I feel like I'm wearing pajamas, but I could still go out in public, and it's one of my favorites. So I will include that in the show notes because it's a good one. So if you're looking for a good two-piece set, then make sure you check that one out. Beauty refresh, confidence mindset, new routines, and style swap. Those are all really simple ways that you can feel your best this fall. You don't need a full-on makeover, you just need small tweaks in these areas that can just leave you feeling radiant, confident, and joyful this fall. Now we don't have to do these things just because it's fall, but I do think it is a fun way to bring out our confidence and help us to feel a little bit better about ourselves and like there is some excitement happening in the air as we are transitioning from the warmer months to the cooler months. So pick one thing from maybe each of these categories. Just one simple thing. Try it and see if it makes you feel any better. See if it's fun. If it's not, then you can always go back to what you were doing before. But if you loved this episode, I would love it if you would share it with a friend who you think could use a little fall boost, who maybe loves the fall season.
