The kind of magic that changes your week isn’t luck—it’s planning less and feeling more. We sit down with Emory Goobler, co-founder of Girls Gone Magical, to explore how a women-only Disneyland getaway can lift the mental load, build real friendships, and bring your confidence back online. Emory opens up about the quiet seasons that inspired her “joy project,” and how thoughtfully planned trips—tickets, lightning lanes, hotels, matching shirts, carpools, even the road-trip playlist—give you permission to show up, exhale, and belong.

We get tactical without losing the wonder. For families, you’ll hear three evergreen strategies: bring the stroller if you’re unsure, pick a few story-linked must-do rides, and schedule downtime with shows and parades so little legs and big feelings can reset. For grown-ups, shift the goal: laughter over checklists, snacks over stress, and night rides that amplify delight. We trade notes on favorites like churros, Dole Whip, and Tigger Tails, plus the simple budget trick of splitting plates to taste more and spend less. And yes, riding Thunder Mountain during fireworks really does feel like a core memory in motion.

Underneath the itineraries is something deeper: travel as a confidence practice. Emory shares how faith, love, and small daily rituals—like a hug that says “you’re seen”—steady us for the long haul. Girls Gone Magical keeps groups small and monthly so connection stays real and safety stays high, making it easier to rediscover the part of you that laughs loud and rests well. If you’re ready to trade decision fatigue for delight and remember who you are outside your roles, you’ll feel right at home here.

If this conversation gave you a spark, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a break, and leave a quick review so more women can find their way to joy.

Today's episode is for all of my Disney lovers. So, travel dreamers, anyone who just wants that little bit of extra magic in their life that Disney brings. I know I am a big Disney girl. I love Disney and I don't go nearly as often as I would like. But I am going to be chatting with Emory Goobler. She is the co-founder of Girls Gone Magical, which is a company that helps women experience the joy and confidence that comes from doing something fun just for themselves. So Emory and her sister Tara have created this amazing space for women to connect and travel and rediscover their sparkle. And it starts in the most magical place on earth, which is Disney. We all love Disney. So we're talking all things Disney trips from trips with going with our kids or how to make a magical experience for even adults. And she's going to be maybe sharing some of her favorite rides and snacks because, of course, Disney is all about the Emmy food. And what is next for Girls Gone Magical? This is a brand new space that she and her sister have created. And so we're excited to share a little bit more about it. So, Emery, I would love for you to introduce yourself and to start with kind of the heart behind all of this. What inspired you to create Girls Gone Magical and what's your purpose and your mission?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, first of all, thank you so much for having me. You are the cutest. Oh, that's exciting. Her daughter just had a little baby boy, and he's just a few days old. So she sends her best. But yeah, she is busy being grandma, and that's the best place to be. So, to answer your question, the heart behind Girls Gone Magical. So it all came about because we wanted other women to feel the same joy and spark of happiness again, the same feeling we had on our sisters' trips. We've been going on quite a few sister trips over the last couple of years, and they, I can't even tell you how much fun we have. So those trips were so full of laughter and connection that we realized how powerful it could be to share it with other people, to take a little time to rediscover your joy. So we wanted to create that same experience for other women, and I love planning. She loves planning. We love planning. And so it was a perfect mix of everything we cared about. So that was the main reason. But for me personally, I was in a place where I lost my sense of purpose and belonging for a little bit. I struggled with feeling alone and with depression and with uncertainty of how to make friends. Our life changes so much as women as we go throughout different periods of life. So I didn't want anyone else to feel like that. So I just wanted to bring joy and connection back into my own life and hopefully help other women to do that too in the happiest place on earth.

SPEAKER_00:

I really love that whole purpose and your whole reason for starting it. I think that it is obvious that your heart is in it because it is personal to you. And so I think that any business that has like that personal element is going to succeed because there's, you know, there there is a reason why that why it was created. So I really love that. And I think connection and making friends as a mom and a woman is so hard. And so is. And it changes too. I think like, okay, when my my kids, when all my kids were like babies, it was a lot different process of making friends. Now I have elementary age kids, but I also still have babies, and like that's a different process in making kids. And then I imagine like where you are with teenagers and older kids, like that's gonna be a new process. And so I think making those connections is something that is constantly going to be changing in a woman's life, depending on where she is. So I love that you've created this space.

SPEAKER_01:

I am so excited, and I don't really think of it as a business so much as my joy project right now.

SPEAKER_00:

I love that. I love it. Okay, so let's just dive in for those that are listening and you're like, yes, give me Disney. I just like let's just lay it out there right now. What is your very first trip that you have planned and what could people expect if they decided to join you on the trip?

SPEAKER_01:

All right, our very first trip is coming up, and we're going for Christmas time, and I am so excited. It's going to be December 12th through the 14th. And we also have one coming up in January, January 9th through 11th. And let me just put a plug-in for the January one. It would make a great Christmas present for your husband or someone special to gift to you. But what is awesome is we plan everything for you. So when I say everything is planned for you, I mean everything: lightning lanes, matching shirts, tickets, hotel, the drive, even the DJ. It's all taken care of. So we carpool, we take a road trip all the way to Disneyland together as a fun group where we can laugh and smile and just have fun. So you would just show up, bring your matching t-shirt, relax and have fun. And we want it to feel totally stress-free. Like all the details are handled so you can just focus on having a magical time. Because as women, we're so busy all the time. And we're the planners. We always get to plan everything for our families all the time. So we wanted to give this to you to for you to experience what it feels like for someone to take care of you and for you to not have to worry about a thing.

SPEAKER_00:

I love that. That's so fun. So are you and Tara joining people on these trips or how are you planning it?

SPEAKER_01:

So we have put it everything together and we have signup forms, and then she and I will travel with you. We will provide the transportation, and then you join us, and we'll all meet at one location and travel down to Anaheim together.

SPEAKER_00:

This is so fun. So you're like the tour guide that literally. I love it.

SPEAKER_01:

To share my excitement about Disneyland. And I'm not even a travel agent. I really should look into that. But this just seemed like just a fun experience.

SPEAKER_00:

That's really fun. So this will be your very first trip in December. And I'm so excited to see like what kind of the friends that you get to make, the connections that the women who go on this trip get to make. I think it will be really fun. Why did you choose Disney? What is it about Disney that just feels so magical to you, especially like as an adult? Because I know a lot of people are like, Disney's for kids, but I'm there's a lot of adults who love Disney. So tell me what it is that brings you to Disney.

SPEAKER_01:

I completely understand. I had that same feeling. Like, why would you go to Disneyland without your kids? And I happened to go for the first time with my husband for our anniversary. And he suggested it. And I was very surprised because we hadn't gone very much. We'd taken our kids uh here or there, but it was magical. It was amazing. I love my children, but as a mother, and it's you plan everything and you have to think about how long do we have until the next person needs a bathroom trip? Or uh how do we feed everyone? And you just have to keep answering all these questions all day long. So it's not necessarily your vacation, it's your child children's vacation, which is a great thing, but to go for yourself. So Disneyland is just tailor-made to make you happy. Everything is clean, it smells amazing, and the cast members are just incredible. So everyone there is working to spread joy and that energy, you just that's what makes those Disneyland fans super fans because the energy is just contagious. It's not just a theme park, it's a place where you can escape real life for a bit and connect with people and just feel pure happiness. And it's just an experience that fills your heart. So yeah, Disneyland all the way.

SPEAKER_00:

I love Disney. I know I always say when I take my kids' places, it's either uh it's usually a trip if I take my kids. It's just a trip. But if I go somewhere with like my friends or my husband, then it's a vacation.

SPEAKER_01:

Then it's a vacation.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, I like that. Yes. I'm like, yes, I totally understand. Like, you know, thinking all of the kids' schedules in your mind. So I love that you chose Disney for adults for that reason.

SPEAKER_01:

Like it's just, yeah, it's just and for women, so we can laugh and have a good time. Because can when women get together, yes, oh, all your cares go out the window. It is, it's a magical thing.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. So okay. So we these this and your trips are for women, but what are like if there's a mom listening that's just like, I just want my kids to experience this, like, even though it's gonna be a trip for me, like it's not gonna be it's not gonna be a vacation. Like, what are your like top three tips for moms who want to take their kids to Disney?

SPEAKER_01:

All right. So I have gone a few times with my family and absolutely love it and they enjoy it too. They're actually quite jealous of this trip and say, I'm just, you know, let me just hop on in the van with you. You won't even notice me. But it is not for them, it's for us. But when you go with your family, one of the things, um, if you're on the fence about whether your kids are too old for a stroller, like if you're even slightly on the front fence about it, bring the stroller. You'll thank yourself later. Those little ones and their little tiny cute legs get charged way too fast, and it makes all the difference in the end at the end of the day. Uh, second, I would say plan ahead because if you have never been to the park before, or even if you have, figuring out the kids' favorite rides. You can look them up online, or you can get them excited about, or if they have favorite Disney movies, just plan ahead to the things that you want to do most because you might not get to everything. And you have to, you kind of have to accept that when you're taking kids, that the magic is just being there. And maybe uh the last thing, definitely building downtime. So there's great ways to like take breaks and let your body rest. So grab those snacks, sit down to watch your parade just to give your feet a break. Um, those little pauses keep everybody happy and they really help you enjoy the moment more.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, definitely. I love like all the shows and stuff that they have there and just like strategically placing them throughout your day. Like have a have a little break, but still be entertained and feeling the fun. Okay, so that's with your those are your tips for kids. What would you say for your must-do's for adults when they go to Disney without kids?

SPEAKER_01:

I very much support doing both. But if you are going to go on a girls' trip or even as adults, the biggest tip that I have is to let yourself have fun and feel like a kid again. Because that's where the joy comes. Don't overthink it. Just let yourself soak everything in and just have fun. It really is the place for you to forget all the other to-do lists and the dishes and all the chores and the errands. You get to go and just have fun. And the biggest decisions you make are what should we eat next? You know, you just take in the atmosphere, eat all the snacks. May I repeat, eat all the snacks. Calories don't count at Disney. Um, don't quote me on that, but I believe it's true. Um, ride your favorite rides and laugh till your cheeks hurt. I'm not really like, I don't love to wear the Disney ears, but I love matching shirts. I love seeing all of the many things that Disneyland has to offer, but just seeing everybody so united in enjoy. Oh, soak it all up. Just soak it all up.

unknown:

Yes.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay, speaking of the food, we have to know what your favorite Disney food is. What's your favorite treat? What's your favorite snack?

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, so my sister Tara, I asked her this, and she is your classic dole whip girl. Yeah. Okay. Has to get one every time. For me, I'm not a pineapple girl. So I really am a churro girl, hands down. Like there's just something about the fresh, warm churro at Disney. It's just pure happiness. But I also cannot, you know, walk away from chocolate. So give me a good Tigger tail. And the Tigger Tails are like a mix of marshmallow, caramel, and chocolate. And they look sparkly and fun. And I'm a sucker for sprinkles too. I don't know why. But yeah, when we go as sisters, we eat all the things. All of the things.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay, do you have like a favorite spot that you go for like a lunch or a dinner, like a meal?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, the Mexican restaurant has some really yummy food.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

And I love getting their tacos or they have a really yummy salad. When I go with my family, you know, their chicken strips and fries. It's easy and it feeds a lot of people. So I am all about enjoying Disney, but I also am very budget friendly. I don't always buy all the things I say that uh I spend more on food than merch. Um, the food is my merch. But uh but when I go with my sisters, it's always kind of fun because we we just get a couple of things and we're like, hey, do you want to try my taco? And I'll try a little bit of this, or you you get a variety of desserts and you cut off a piece of each of them, and everybody gets a taste of everything. It's just with girls' trips, it just makes it so fun to turn everything into a magical moment. It really does.

SPEAKER_00:

What's your favorite Disney ride or favorite moment, like a parade or something in Disney that you just love?

SPEAKER_01:

All right. For me, it's riding Thunder Mountain at nighttime. It Thunder Mountain is always amazing. Don't get me wrong. I it's my favorite ride, but riding it at night during the fireworks. You're just enjoying the ride, the music's going and the fireworks are bursting, and it's just magical every single time. And Tara, my sister, she had the hardest time answering this question. I said, just pick anything. And she just started laughing and said, everything. I can't pick just one thing, it's everything. So I honestly think that's per a perfect answer because the whole experience just feels magical just from start to finish.

SPEAKER_00:

Is so if you do Thunder Mountain during the fireworks, do you typically find that it's easy to get on?

SPEAKER_01:

It's easier, yes. But it is it is a catch 22 because the fireworks are so amazing too. So it's just in that moment how you're feeling because you can still ride Thunder Mountain at night and it'll still be amazing. And usually that's something I do if I have multiple days at the park. If you have just one, I'd say enjoy Thunder Mountain during the day or in the evening and then enjoy the fireworks shows separately. But it's really an awesome experience.

SPEAKER_00:

Your brand, your page, it's all about creating joy-filled experiences, connection for women. How do you think that travel or just getting away and doing something fun for yourself or with your friends can really help a woman to feel more confident and just alive in herself again?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I love this question. I think one of the most powerful things women can do is take time for themselves. I personally know for so many years I felt guilty. Like, how can I spend time on myself? It feels selfish. But honestly, we're moms or busy with jobs, and it's easy to put ourselves last. But when you take a few days to step away, it changes everything. It you are able to come back refreshed and with a feeling of fulfillment, or you just feel more yourself again. You're you have more to give to everyone else. When you fill your own cup, you can give more to others. And that's really what Girls God Magical is all about. It's about creating a space where you can laugh and connect with other people. Uh, I don't know about you, but when I had young kids, uh just being able to have another conversation with another adult was something I looked forward to. I couldn't wait for my husband to get home so I could have an adult conversation. Uh, and having, you know, other women to just share your joy of life with and and remember who you are outside of all the everyday roles that we play.

SPEAKER_00:

What's next for Girls Gone Magical, this joy project of yours that I love so much? Um trips, but anything else that you kind of like have in the making?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, more trips. You know, it has been planned like quite often, hopefully once a month. So lots of different women can experience it because right now we are just small and sweet and are taking a group of about five or six women, and it's it's a road trip. And so to offer it to multiple people to have that chance, uh, we want to do it for a variety of times throughout the year. Um, and it's all about laughter and fun and new experiences and helping each other discover or rediscover the joy of Disney. But at the heart of it all, Girls Gone Magical is about lifting one another up and encouraging each other and celebrating who we are. It's about womanhood, friendship, and finding joy together. And so that's why I'm so glad you had me on this podcast because when I learned about your podcast, I was just like, oh my goodness, that is exactly what I love, that what I want. And to bring the magic, you're bringing magic into everyday life. And that's what I hope to do on our trips to Disney.

SPEAKER_00:

I really love that. Okay, so people need to make sure they're following you. You're on Instagram and Facebook at Girls Gone Magical. Is that right? That's right. Okay, I will include those links in the show notes. Um, but Embry, one question that I like to ask, this does not have to be related to anything Disney or a girls' trip or anything, but just something that I like to ask all of my guests is what is one thing that you try and do every day to help you feel more confident?

SPEAKER_01:

That's a hard question. Honestly, it it really is because confidence is tricky. And I love that you're talking about it because we have confidence, but then we lose our confidence or we forget who we really are or how strong we are. So I'm gonna first answer for my sister Tara and then answer for myself. She says she finds her confidence in and remembers it more in a simple hug from her husband. She said it just makes all the difference in her day, and that small moment reminds her that she's loved and supported. And I love that because confidence can come from all different places. For me, it's my faith. My confidence comes from trusting my savior and knowing that I'm not alone. I think that the world can be such a big place, and often we we just we doubt ourselves. As women, I would love to say that we're always confident, but we we do we doubt ourselves way too much, and it's it's really tough. And so I have to trust in my savior and know that I'm not alone. That knowledge gives me peace and strength every single day. And I think between Tara's answer and mine, it's just faith, love, family, and connection is how you can gain confidence in so many ways.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it's just the simple things. It's really, it's not, it doesn't need to be anything complicated or hard. So I love your both of your answers. So thank you for sharing. And I'm glad that you got some of Tara's answers so we could have her here in the podcast, even though she's not here. But I'm almost more envious of her because she is like perfect little baby. I know, I know, it's true.

SPEAKER_01:

My baby is almost 11. Next week she'll be 11. You know what? This week she'll be 11. And they it goes by so fast. It goes so by so fast.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, thank you, Emery. That was really fun. And to tell Tara thank you. So thank you for tuning in. And I think I love how Emory and Tara are combining travel and community and confidence into something that just can remind us that it's okay to step away from like the daily routine and to find something joyful and find that connection. So if you want to follow along or join them on one of their upcoming trips, then make sure you go to their Instagram at Girls GoneMagical, or you can find them on Facebook and tell her, tell them that you heard about them through Confidently Beautiful. And as always, thank you for listening and sharing and being part of this beautiful community of women and for choosing confidence and joy and self-expression every single day. So thank you again, Emery. And I will talk to you guys again next week. So thank you. Thanks for listening. Connect with me on Instagram at confidently beautiful podcast and share this episode with someone in your life who could use a little reminder of just how amazing they already are.
