The Gratitude Confidence Reset
Holidays can feel like a beautiful blur—busy, emotional, and a little overwhelming. We’re taking a beat to reset with a simple practice that lifts mood, quiets comparison, and strengthens a real sense of self: gratitude. Not the fluffy kind, but the science-backed shifts that raise dopamine and serotonin, reduce stress, and build a competence-based identity that fuels everyday confidence.
We walk through why gratitude works on the brain and how that translates into self-belief you can feel. Then we make it practical with a 20-second morning or evening reset: one thing you appreciate about yourself, something you’re proud you did yesterday, one thing you can handle today, and a moment you felt confident. You’ll also learn a stress reframe—asking “What is still good right now?”—to move from scarcity to strength in seconds. To extend the lift, try the three-person gratitude ripple by texting three people with a specific thank-you to boost connection and oxytocin for both of you.
Along the way, we share heartfelt thanks to the community supporting Confidently Beautiful, from the moms and working women showing up on messy days to the customers championing our journals, makeup, and skincare. You’ll hear a listener review that made our day and a simple challenge to write three gratitudes about yourself—not your home, not your plans, but you—to anchor confidence where it grows best. If you’re ready for a quick, compassionate reset that actually fits your life, press play, take a deep breath, and let gratitude work for you.
If this helped, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a boost, and leave a review so more people can find these tools. Want a simple way to keep the habit going? Check out the Daily Confidence Rainbow journals at confidentexpression.com.

You're listening to Confidently Beautiful with Sierra, a podcast to help you stay confidently beautiful because we all have confidence inside us. We just need to bring it out, and I'm here to show you how. Body image, dreams, parenting style, personality, and more. Here we cover it all. Get ready to stay confidently beautiful. Hey friends, and happy Thanksgiving week. I know this season can feel busy and emotional and beautiful all at one time. So today's episode is going to be short and sweet. I am actually on round three of recording this episode. I just can't seem to get it right. And so I'm just keep trying and I'm we're hoping that third time is a charm. Sometimes that's how it is with my episodes. It's like sometimes it just takes multiple times. So just know that nothing in life is perfect and nothing has to be perfect. But if you need to keep trying to do something over and over again, then it's okay. You can keep trying. And then you can also just let it be what it is. So I just want to give you a quick research-backed confidence boost through something super simple this week, and it is gratitude. So we're talking about how gratitude literally rewires your brain for confidence. A few habits, you can start today. And honestly, I just want to take a moment to say thank you for being here. I think this is why I've re-recorded this three times now because I just I want to get it into words like how much you mean to me. This podcast is not, it would not be what it is without this amazing community that has been built around it. So thank you for supporting Confident Expression, my shop. Thank you for being part of this community for Confidently Beautiful and for being women who just show up for themselves even on messy days. You allow me to show up for myself on my messy days and show up for you on my messy days, and you show up here in our community on your messy days. So I just, I am so grateful for you. So take a deep breath. Let's settle in and let's do a quick confidence reset together before Thanksgiving happens. Why gratitude builds confidence? So, what's the research? Gratitude shifts your brain chemistry. Studies show gratitude increases dopamine and serotonin, your motivation and your well-being chemicals. When these chemicals rise, your belief in yourself is going to rise too. Gratitude reduces comparison. Research from UC Davis and Emmons shows that gratitude lowers stress and negative self-judgment. When comparison decreases, confidence naturally is going to increase. And number three, gratitude strengthens identity. Psychology research shows that when people recognize their daily wins, they strengthen their competence identity, which is essentially your confidence. This means you see yourself as someone who's capable, growing, and doing enough. So isn't that crazy? The power of gratitude and what gratitude can do for ourselves and for our confidence. When you're grateful for what you're already doing, even the tiny little things, you stop feeling behind and start feeling grounded and capable. So here are three quick gratitude habits that will boost your confidence. So maybe you can try implementing one of them into your week this week. The 22nd morning reset or evening reset. So one sentence that you could just complete to yourself, either writing it down in a notebook or just saying it to yourself or putting it in a note in your phone. Something I appreciate about myself to finish the sentence. Something I'm proud I did yesterday to finish the sentence. One thing I can handle today, these are going to build evidence of self-trust. And then, of course, my personal favorite, today I felt confident when. These are all going to grow your confidence, and they are going to help you to reset into a gratitude mindset. The gratitude reframe can come when stress hits. You can ask yourself, what is still good right now? There will always be something that is still good, even in the stressful moments. So just shift yourself, pull yourself out of the stress and say, What is still good right now? This trains your brain to focus on strengths, not shortcomings. So it's going to get you out of the scarcity mindset and into the abundant mindset. Number three is the three-person gratitude ripple. I just picked the number three because it's just a good number. Things usually come in threes. I don't know. But it doesn't have to be three, but just pick a number. I went with three. And thinking you can just send three texts to three different people thinking of you. I'm grateful for you because whatever, however, you want to finish those texts to send to the three people this week. This is going to boost connection, increase oxytocin, and raise confidence in you and also the person. Going back to episode 88 that I did last week, see and be seen. This is going to help you to feel seen and to help the other person feel seen as well. So thank you for showing up. Especially you moms that are juggling a hundred things. You working women who are juggling a million different tasks all at one time. No matter who you are, like I know you're busy, but you showing up here means the world to me. Thank you for the customers who support confident expression and my new journals. And of course, my makeup and my skincare, which I have been sharing for years now. I am so grateful for you. Thank you to the community for just this community of people. If you are listening to this, you are in the community. Thank you for providing a place where confidence and joy can be shared and it's not performed. We can show up on our messy days and we can support each other and turn each other on. I wanted to share a review for the podcast that I just love and I am so grateful for. She said, Sierra is easy to listen to and shares great information. She keeps things simple and shares tips that I can implement immediately. I'm always looking forward to her next episode. So thank you for your review. I really appreciate it. And one simple challenge for this week is to take a couple minutes today, sometime really soon, and write down three things that you're grateful for. Trying to make it that is something about you. It's not your kids, not your home, not your holiday plans, but something about you that you are grateful for. This is going to help your confidence grow. Confidence grows where gratitude is planted. You are doing better than you think. Thank you for being here. Share this episode with a friend who needs a little confidence boost this holiday week.
