Sirens, Slammers and Service - A podcast for Female First Responders

As a former correctional officer in Alberta for almost 2 decades and the founder of Blue Line Fitness Testing which provides law enforcement fitness testing and wellness workshops, I started this podcast as a way for female first responders to be able to share their stories including the trials, tribulations and triumphs of their daily work. Our episodes cover female correctional officers and caseworkers, military personnel, female paramedics, firefighters and dispatchers, as well as feature female Edmonton Police Service officers, drug dog handlers and female tactical team members. I want to showcase the unique perspectives, skill sets and personalities that women bring to a first responder career and work to encourage more women to apply for these careers and step up to learn more about what we do.

My name is Nikki Cloutier, and I was a former correctional officer and manager in Alberta for almost two decades and am the founder and CEO of Blue Line Fitness Testing. I started Blue Line Fitness Testing because I saw the need for supportive, technical-based training and testing facilities and witnessed firsthand the overwhelming demand for physically fit individuals in first responder and law enforcement careers. As I navigated becoming a female entrepreneur, I had the opportunity to network with some pretty amazing female first responders and hear their journeys through their careers. I was so inspired, I wanted to share their stories with as many people as I could - And so Sirens, Slammers and Service was born! I hope you love this podcast as much as I do!

Bridget Truxillo

Bridget was a Deputy Sheriff in Florida, and after spending time in patrol, she transferred to the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit (NOCU) and joined the SWAT team. Bridget knows the challenges law enforcement officers face, both outside and inside their agencies, based on her experiences with her agency and with the public.

Although Bridget loved serving the public, she realized she wanted to serve the law enforcement community in a different way, so she left and went to law school as a means to glean the knowledge and skills necessary for this purpose.

Bridget launched Lady Law Shield to help law enforcement officers and first responders alleviate legal worries.

All legal services are designed to provide comfort, ease, and support for a more balanced and joyful life.
