Each week, we'll dive into topics that inspire, challenge and empower you to redefine what it means to be you. Dive into topics that inspire, challenge and empower you to redefine what it means to be you. So, if you're ready to rewrite your story and live life that's bold, authentic and unapologetically yours, let's dive in. Oh my gosh, hi, welcome back. Did that sound like I was answering the phone? Welcome back to another episode. I am so happy that you're here, so excited to talk with you.
Speaker 1:I've got to fill you in so you know how I was like oh my gosh, I keep getting sick. I keep getting sick. What is going on? It ain't sickness, it is allergies. These are allergies, and so, literally, as I'm recording this, I hope you cannot hear the cough drop in my throat. You can probably hear a little bit of my voice. It's a little raspy, a little horse, horse-like no pun intended, since I love horses, so we got to roll with the punches. But something about the ragweed. What the hell is going on with the ragweed and you know it's funny is I was all like perplexed and like up in arms about this.
Speaker 1:I'm like I don't have allergies. It's ridiculous. Like I'm better than this, like ridiculous, hilarious. I'm laughing at myself. But we've never been in Texas in the fall, so it's like brand new. You know, I thought like allergies only happen in springtime. Well, think again. Jokes on me. The damn ragweed is out to get me and here we are, but I'm fine. I got my cough drop just because I get that little tickle in my throat and we are good. Okay, I hope you're doing wonderful. I hope you're having like the best time and moment as you're listening to this. Whatever you're doing, whatever you're doing, I just vibing, loving that you're here, but anyways. So today I want to share something personal with you, something that was crazy, but it's a recent decision that I made and it might surprise you.
Speaker 1:I recently turned down a nearly $50,000 deal for my business. Yes, you heard that right. I turned down a deal that was $48,000. That was going to be a partnership ready to go, and I said, no, this was a huge opportunity, obviously, financially, professionally, but I just had to say no and I want to tell you why. But there's so much more to it than just the money.
Speaker 1:So, to get into it, the client only wanted strategy, and I can do strategy in my sleep. They weren't really interested in anything outside of strategy. They weren't interested in the complete transformation that I love to offer. And the complete transformation that I offer it's beyond the tactics, it's beyond the tips and if you know me, you know I'm here for, like all of the good stuff. Like I'm not a small talk girl, I love deep conversations. I want to know your daddy issues, I want to know it all. And that goes so much further than strategy.
Speaker 1:And when you have the shifts, you completely redefine how you approach life, how you approach work and how you approach freedom and all of a sudden you have a completely different life. This is outside of the strategy. So today I want to dive into my decision process, why I value transformation over strategy and how it all ties into creating a life of true freedom, Because ultimately, that's the only thing we can get right. Like, money's easy. We've talked about this. I used to talk about money all the time. It was so stupid. Money's easy. What's not easy is freedom. What's not easy is living in the moment. That shit's hard. So if you're ready to go behind the scenes, let's just, let's dive into it.
Speaker 1:So, to give you a full story, here's a bit of context. So this client was actually referred to me by a one-on-one client of mine and they were ready. We like had many conversations back and forth and they were ready to pay me $48,000 for my time, my expertise and my guidance, and that's a massive amount of money. I have never had a $48,000 day. I've also never had a $48,000 month. Like what an opportunity.
Speaker 1:Okay, and the idea was that I'd be working with their team to develop a super focused, super detailed strategy to help their business level up. Now duh, that's like my middle name. Like people come to me for strategy because that's honestly how I started my business and then I moved into more of the mindset energetics piece only within like the last year, not even. So it's natural for people to be referring me when they were my OG like content strategy clients and I'm like gotta have a shameless plug. I gotta toot my own horn here. I am so freaking good at strategy. It's insane, Like the new people who have been coming into my world and the new clients I even have, like brick and mortar type clients, like those people I'm blowing their socks off and I didn't even like I know I've been good at this stuff. But when I, you know, have all these different, wide variety type of clients, then also be like, oh, I never thought about like that, and then they implement it and, and then they implement it, and then they see like literally a 500% increase in growth, I'm like yeah, you're welcome.
Speaker 1:So anyways, on paper, this offer it looked like a dream, like what that would do for my business, like are you kidding me what I could annualize for this year coming in, you know, closing out 2024. Monumental, I would get to help them create a detailed roadmap. I'd give them the tools, I'd give them some powerful plans to put in place and then done, boom, we're good. Voila Chef's kiss. But here's the thing she was only interested in, only strategy. She's like I want it yesterday, strategy, plug and play, let's go. They wanted the how to the, the play-by-play, absolutely no interest in exploring any of the deep work, nothing about the mindset, nothing about identity shifts, nothing about alignment which all turned strategy into real, lasting success. But she wasn't interested.
Speaker 1:So I'm like, okay, that's what gave me the pause. I'm like gosh, I really had to think about this. Do I just do that because I'm really freaking good at that, or do I stick to my gut here? Like stick to my guns. Listen to my gut, which is telling me, like it's not an alignment, katie, like you don't want to be doing this stuff. You don't even talk about content strategy anymore on social media. Like when's the last time you have? So why are you going to take this on? Oh, because it's going to be a milestone.
Speaker 1:Like I really had to ponder and think about this. All my first reaction was, of course, like dude, this is going to be monumental. I got to do this. $40,000, that's a lot of money for a project. That's a lot of money for my time. Are you joking? But the and the more I just sat with it. It just didn't feel right, and so I had to make the hardest decision and tell this potential client no.
Speaker 1:But I realized that without the willingness to dive deep with someone, to commit to an all-in transformation with someone, the deal just wouldn't actually work out for either of us, because someone who's looking at strategy, yesterday were the words. You're always going to be looking for a strategy to implement. You're probably someone who wants to pay for ads, thinking that you're going to all of a sudden become a millionaire overnight because you paid for some ads and you didn't think about anything, about the version of you, the mental shifts that have to take place and the version of you who has the ability to hold and harness lasting success. Like you want a flash in the pan, go for it. Pay for ads, get a strategy yesterday, implement all the boring things I'm sorry but it's boring and you'll probably see an increase. Why wouldn't you Probably see a cash injection. I love that for you. But if you want to constantly be chasing that flash in the pan, feeling the cash injection, feeling strategy is going to be your way to go. But if you want it to be lasting, that's a deep transformation, man. That is like getting in and like figuring her out and then setting her fucking free, like that's the biggest thing. The next couple episodes I'm going to be doing are going to be around setting her free, like setting your inner boss babe completely free into that flow life. So stay tuned for that.
Speaker 1:But next I want to talk about the difference between strategy and transformation. So, as I've already stated a little bit already, like, strategy is great. I love a good, solid plan. Hello, we all do. It's. Your step-by-step guide tells you what to do, when to do it, why, like, yeah, sure, but the thing is, strategy alone can only take you so far. Like I said, it's a flash in the pan. I can give you every single tool, every action step, every strategy that's worked wonders for me and my clients. Like I can deliver that to you. But if you're not willing to go deeper, my friend, it will be a flash in the pan. It will not last. It will not last. And then you're on that fun little hamster wheel I just referred to Transformation.
Speaker 1:On the other hand, it's about who you become, and it literally lights me the hell up. It's about shifting into a new version of yourself. It's about letting go of old stories, embracing fresh perspective. It's about learning to operate from a place of true freedom. It's about not giving in to the whole busy work and productivity and put in my time. No, no, no. Transformation changes you from the inside out, making success feel effortless, because it aligns with who you are. It's inevitable Like I love that stuff when I work with my clients.
Speaker 1:We don't just talk about what to do next, like I give them a strategy. That's part of my gig here but we talk about how to think, we talk about how to feel, we talk about how to slow down, we talk about how to show up. How do you show up in a way that creates sustainable change? They walk away with tools. My one-on-one clients and even clients outside of my one-on-one work they walk away with tools, yes, but they also leave as an entirely different person than when they started. That's the magic that I'm here for. That's the magic of transformation. That's where the real results happen and that's where the lasting results happen.
Speaker 1:And so that's why I turned down this $48,000 deal. Does it hurt to say that? I mean it did at first, when I'm like I'm really not doing this, but I've let it go? Because, honestly, what lights me up more is what I just talked to you about. I could have gone in, given them a killer strategy, seen some immediate results, cool, yay, we're all excited. But without that commitment to inner work and the alignment I knew it wouldn't stick, and I don't want my reputation to go down as like, yeah, we paid all this money, we had a huge lift but it wasn't sustained. Like I don't want anything to do with that territory and, honestly, I only want to work with people who want the whole enchilada, the whole experience, who are ready to redefine their success from the inside out. I freaking love that.
Speaker 1:So now let's talk about what this decision has actually taught me about myself a little bit more. First of all, I'm growing up, yay, but turning down this deal was actually a huge moment of clarity for me when I really slowed down and thought about it and kind of got into my feels about this decision. I knew the decision that I had to make and it forced me to get really clear on my own values on like what really matters in my work, who am I really trying to talk to and what am I really here to offer? Like sure $ values on like what really matters in my work, who am I really trying to talk to and what am I really here to offer? Like sure, $48,000 would have been an amazing financial win, but what I realized was that my integrity and my commitment to my mission and to what I'm trying to do as a part of my movement here on the little part of the internet that I have, means so so much more. It was like a reminder to me and maybe this could be a reminder to you that saying no to something that doesn't align is sometimes the best thing that we can all do for ourselves. When you know what your core values are, every decision becomes clearer.
Speaker 1:I had to ask myself do I want to be a strategy consultant? Is that really where I'm going? Or do I want to be a mentor who helps women transform every part of their lives? Like they wake up feeling just jazzed to be alive again. The world is their oyster. They get to do whatever the fuck they want to do today and like thank you for giving me another day to live. What is today going to bring With the utmost excitement. That's what I'm all about. Saying no made me realize that I value integrity, transformation and alignment over money or fast results, which kind of gets boring after a while. I'm not gonna lie and I truly believe that by staying committed to these values, I'm creating space for clients who actually value the same things too.
Speaker 1:Maybe you're listening to this and wondering am I ready for that full transformation, or I'm just looking for the next strategy and the next strategy and the next strategy. And here's how to know if you're ready for a deeper experience. Number one you might be open to inner work. If you're willing to look inward, examine your beliefs and make real shifts, that's a sign that you're ready for a deep transformation. Number two maybe you're tired of quick fixes. You've bounced around a lot, you got some wins, you know how to make money online, but you're kind of sick of it.
Speaker 1:When you reach a point, when you're done with the temporary solutions and you want something that lasts, to where, like, you actually get that time freedom, you're moving towards transformational work. Or three you want freedom, not just success. Another way of saying that is you want freedom and not just the money. Strategy can bring success, which brings the money right, but transformation brings freedom. If you're looking for freedom in your time, your mindset and your life, my friend, transformation is the path for you. That's your next step, okay.
Speaker 1:So if these resonate with you, those three little like, if you're ready for it, those three things you're open inner work, you're tired of quick fixes and you want freedom and not just money or success, then you're ready for more than just strategy. You're ready to not keep buying all these courses, you're ready to stop buying all these little memberships to try to learn something from someone, but you're still missing out on that true accountability with a mentor, then this is your sign. I would take this as your sign. You're ready for a journey that changes you, one that gives you the tools to create lasting results, because you're no longer looking for the next big thing. You're redefining what big even means for you.
Speaker 1:So, to wrap this up, saying no to $48,000 might seem wild to some, but for me it was a defining moment. Like I have chills actually even saying this. It reaffirmed that I'm here for deeper work, for helping women like you create a life that's defined by freedom, ease and alignment, not just a to-do list and a strategy to check off your list. If you're ready to go beyond the surface, if you're craving transformation, I would love, love, love, to help you. Where I would start is the Freedom Society. It's my free, exclusive group that anyone can join. I'm in there weekly and that would be a great first place for you to start. But if you're looking to go deeper, you can find me on Instagram. Always slide into my DMs, because you know that's where I'm at all the time.
Speaker 1:So remember true freedom, it doesn't come from having the perfect strategy. It comes with alignment. It comes from aligning your life with your deepest values and desires. That's the path I'm on and it's what I help my clients experience too, and it lights me the hell up over a boring strategy. So that's it for today. Big deal, big news. But I always tell my clients, if there's someone who's willing to do, if you've got one person who's willing to pay you, that there's at least 10 more. So in your situation, if you've had an inquiry, know that there's at least 10 more who are thinking about it. It's the best mindset to have and, honestly, it's just fun feeling on top of the world. It's just fun.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much for joining me today. I like love that you were here. If this episode spoke to you, please share it with someone who needs this message, who can get something out of it.
