I'm so happy that you're here Today.
Speaker 1:We're talking about something so many of us fall into, and that is rushing, trying to get things done fast, fast, fast, racing to the goal line, if you will. You know that feeling of sprinting towards your goals, trying to check off all the boxes as fast as possible, thinking that if you just do more and you go harder, you put in a couple extra hours, you'll get there quicker. I know, you know what I mean, but let me ask you this how is that working for you? If rushing was the magic formula, wouldn't you be where you want to be already? Like? Think about it, because the truth is, rushing isn't the answer. Hurrying through things to try to come up with a new offer, create a new program, whip something out and post it quickly on social media and send it to your email list it's actually not the answer. In fact, it's probably slowing you down. And there's a better way, a formula that works for me and has worked for all of my clients and this has been the recent shift in my business and it starts with chilling out. Everything I'm going to walk you through today in this potent, yet like powerful, short, concise episode is going to be around my experience from going wound super, super tight to chilling the hell out. So let's dive in.
Speaker 1:We've been taught that success comes from hustling harder, doing more and going faster and faster and faster. But the thing is, if that approach was foolproof, if that approach worked, we'd all be billionaires by now. I mean, truly, if there was one playbook that got you from where you are today to becoming a billionaire, we would all be billionaires, wouldn't we? I want you to think about that for a second. But the thing is, if rushing through life was the secret. Then there would be one playbook. We'd all follow it and boom, hey, I'm a billionaire, you're a billionaire, cool. We all did the same playbook that, like, was the secret that we finally got our hands on and like, boom, yeah, cool, look at us just sipping our champagne and like living our best life. But look around, let's bring it back down to real life. That's not how it works, and if it did, we'd all be there.
Speaker 1:So think about the times that you've rushed. Maybe you're rushing right now, whether it be starting a project, building a business, trying to scale your business or maybe something completely different like eating healthier or a fitness goal or weight loss goal. Did it actually lead to faster, sustainable results by rushing, or did it just burn you out? Maybe you feel burnt out right now. Maybe you're feeling frustrated and maybe you even feel further away from where you want to be.
Speaker 1:I am literally speaking my experience in this department, because I would be the fastest one to create offers, literally. I was in a mastermind one time and the coach was like I can't believe how quick you move. I can't believe it and I'm like, yeah, I move, and I thought it was like a great characteristic, but what it actually was is me working off of desperate energy, trying to rush through everything to get goals faster, because I was so desperate for money. I was so desperate for the money wins, to prove myself, feel accepted, feel worthy, feel important. And me rushing there actually made me look more chaotic than anything. It actually made me look like I didn't have my stuff together and I'm grateful for that time in my business because it really showed me what doesn't work.
Speaker 1:And I'll tell you that it's rushing, it's trying to get somewhere faster. But I have to ask you why? What is the rush? What do you think is going to come when you get there? Because when I've been there, trying to rush through strategies, thinking speed would give me the edge. Thinking every time I can get something done faster, I'm closer and closer and closer. Guess what? That feeling never ended.
Speaker 1:So I got there and I didn't know how to hold it and I've talked a little bit about this, but this is a different spin on it. So I ended up missing steps when I'd rush. I ended up looking like I, like. I remember having this feedback from like it just looks like you've got so much going on and I don't think that was the best feedback, but I learned from it and I'm grateful for it. I made mistakes and not saying mistakes are bad and again, I'm not even sharing that this led me anywhere. Bad, it was all for me. It all taught me what I now do not do and how I now just chill the hell out, and rushing isn't the path. It's actually the detour. Rushing will take you the long way, if you even ever get there.
Speaker 1:So here's why rushing didn't work for me and why it doesn't work for clients is I find that they do not know how to relax and they're constantly living in a state of fight or flight response. So when you're rushing, your nervous system is in overdrive. It literally is like there's a saber tooth tiger every minute of the hour, every hour of the day, every day, every week, every month, every life and your life feels like just one giant chaotic mess. Can anyone relate to that? You're not thinking clearly, you're not making aligned decisions. You're literally reacting to life because you're trying to get somewhere you're not at.
Speaker 1:Let me remind you, we've talked about this so many times when you are right now is where you're at. Where your feet are is where you're at. Your feet is not in your brain thinking of 80 different things that could be happening, or thinking about all the things that happened in the past, like yesterday or even an hour ago, and when you're operating from a place of stress, you're not relaxed and you're not in flow of what your life is in the moment it's happening, so that looks like you being robbed of that moment. Maybe you're in the car with your kids and you're just wishing that they could stop talking to you because you're thinking about things with business and really you'll regret not listening to your kids talk to you and want to talk to you, right?
Speaker 1:I'm talking about my own experience, because I remember when I'd have an AirPod in my ear trying to listen to something and my three-year-old's trying to talk to me and I would be like telling him to stop talking. I just want quiet time and I refuse to live my life like that anymore, when I know one day I'm going to beg him to talk to me. He wants to talk to me, I want to listen. And so me thinking that I had to educate myself on something that I was missing to get me to my you know, that billion dollar playbook that I thought was out there, that I didn't know yet, was robbing me of the joy and the life I was living in that moment with where my feet are. And, side note, I just did an awesome episode on another podcast that I was a guest on. It's called All Seasons. I will link it below, where I talked about what success means to me now and it's being where my feet are. And what that means is my mind is actually where my feet are. My mind is not wandering off somewhere else with my kids, for example, or with my husband. I'm actually focused in that moment with my kids or my husband, with my horse, whatever that may be. And that is true success to me, and that's kind of the overarching message that I want to share with you here today in this episode. The second thing I want to touch on when we think that rushing is the answer, is you're assuming that there's a universal playbook, and I kind of already talked about that. But if rushing worked, we'd all have the same step-by-step strategy to get to the top. Right, we talked about this.
Speaker 1:But success isn't a one-size-fits-all. Your journey is unique and you can't rush your way into alignment. You can't rush your way to having the path unfold for you. That means you're trying to like put a square peg through a round hole. Sometimes it works if you really have enough brute force, but you end up feeling like you'll never be able to sustain that, and the other thing is it robs you of the presence of where you're living and what you're doing right now, which we kind of already talked about.
Speaker 1:When you're rushing, you're so focused on the destination that you miss the purpose and the magic and the process. You miss the lessons, you miss the growth, you miss the small wins that are worth celebrating and, let's be honest, if you're not enjoying the journey, what is the freaking point? You're rushing, you're rushing, you're rushing, you're going, you're going. How do I get there faster? What is the point? Where are you trying to go? I don't know.
Speaker 1:So if rushing isn't the answer, what is the answer? It's chilling out. Spoiler alert chilling out, and I know what you might be thinking. How am I supposed to chill out, Katie? I've got big goals, I've got debt, I've got plans. Christmas is here. Like what the hell are you talking about? Well, let me explain.
Speaker 1:Chilling out doesn't have to mean slacking off or giving up. Doesn't mean ditch the ambition. No, it means aligning your energy, calming your nervous system and trusting the process. It means having more fun. It means follow your joy Like truly. That's the secret sauce and here's how this works. You relax your nervous system. There are several tools that are out there where you can learn how to relax your nervous system. But when you're calm, you make clearer, more aligned decisions. Instead of reacting out of panic like what do I do? You're responding with intention by listening to your body, by calming your body down and listening to your body and what feels like the most right decision in that moment. This isn't just a mindset, it's literally biology.
Speaker 1:Now I'm going to go off on a little side note here, because my kids I want my kids to be raised with a calm nervous system and tools and modalities to do that, and for me it is deep breathing. Oh my gosh. I love taking deep breaths and I'd like to ask you when. The last time you took a deep breath was? Because I bet you you couldn't even answer that, or maybe you're ahead of most and you know how to do that. But like humming is another fun way to calm your nervous system.
Speaker 1:But whenever my kids are like they cannot contain themselves, they're just having a tantrum episode, meltdown. I know that's not them just trying to be a pain in the ass Like. I know that. I know that enough. I have enough emotional intelligence to give them grace and a break. I didn't get that when I was growing up, because my parents didn't know how to do any of the things that we're talking about. Like the consciousness of the collective has evolved to where now we know why people react the way that they do. Have you heard the saying hurt people, hurt people. That's what I'm talking about, and so I have enough emotional intelligence to.
Speaker 1:When I see my son, either one of them, having a complete, utter meltdown, just like acting like a baby when they're a little bit older than that, where I just I don't ditch them, I don't leave them high and dry because they're annoying to me. Instead, I teach them how to calm their nervous system. Their needs are not being met in that time. So what is that? They either don't feel heard, they don't feel seen, they need something and they don't know how to communicate it. You have to treat your nervous system like your little child, if you have one. So instead, see what's going on, calm yourself down. So I teach my three-year-old and my two-year-old how to take a deep breath with an audible exhale, and so they literally know how to do that. And what's so beautiful is, whenever I have my moments of where I feel like I'm not grounded, my three-year-old will literally tell me to take a deep breath and I feel like, let me just wash my hands, my job is done here, like if I'm teaching him how to support someone in that and not just walk away or, worse, shame them over it. I literally feel like I'm nailing the parenting game.
Speaker 1:So, first things first, relax your nervous system. Second thing is focus on your own timeline. When we compare ourselves to others and we compare our journey, that's when we want to rush, because we feel behind. When I'd like to know where in your map of life, where are you behind? Your success isn't on a stopwatch, my friend. I hate to break it to you. It's not about how fast you can get there. It's about how fully you can step into aligning yourself with your goals. It's about how can you enjoy so much abundance in your life now that it's so freaking juicy good that more is more. Because you feel full, you feel satisfied. And then the last one is enjoy and embrace the process.
Speaker 1:Think about the most successful people that you admire. Did they rush to where they are now? Like, truthfully and maybe you're thinking of some that you see on social media who have Well, I'd like to ask you, how many hours a day are they working? Because I bet you you don't want to work 10, eight to 10 hours a day. I mean, why would anyone? Or did these people that are super successful in your eyes, did they master the art of patience, persistence and enjoying the ride? Right? I tell you every billionaire I've seen and watched closely, and millionaires that I know and have worked with, they enjoy the ride and they're chill AF. When you chill out, you're more present, you're more creative, you're more open to opportunities that rushing would make you miss. I've been there, I know. So here are some examples.
Speaker 1:I want you to think about a time in your life when you weren't rushing. Maybe you were in complete flow, you were relaxed, taking things one step at a time, trusting that was what was meant for you was going to unfold. Maybe you were planning your wedding, maybe you were planning a baby shower. Did you rush through that process? I didn't, and I'm not even like the kind of girl who, like, had her wedding plan when she was eight. I'm not that girl and, with the baby showers, not that girl either, but I was intentional because I wanted it to be an experience that I would remember.
Speaker 1:Can you relate any part of your business to that? Because I sure can. Can you relate any part of your business to that? Because I sure can. Can you relate any part of your life to slowing down, taking it step by step, and apply that to your business? How did that feel when you were taking each step one step at a time. You know, like, what's the theme of the wedding or baby shower, what are the decorations, what are we going to eat? Were you rushing through that process? I doubt it. So how did that feel compared to when you were in a frantic rush, like I don't even know what's happening? So I personally have experienced this shift. I've talked a lot about that.
Speaker 1:When I stopped sprinting my little booty off towards my goals and started focusing on, like feeling good, being in alignment, a relaxed nervous system, things literally started to fall into place. I tripled my income in two weeks with a mix of these things, but the forefront was chilling the hell out. Opportunities came out of the woodwork, woodwork when I chilled out and there's a whole scientific thing, energetic thing behind this is because you're actually more in a receptive mode when you are relaxed. So opportunities started dropping in out of nowhere. My referral business ticked up a ton and decisions felt lighter. I literally knew what to do all the time. I still feel that way.
Speaker 1:I feel confident with anything that comes my way, because I know how this whole thing works and I just am going to truly follow what lights me up and I can feel the best about not hustling, rushing, because I got to get something done, because, oh my God, I could have this huge payday and I was no longer exhausted at every turn. This is why chilling out works. It puts you in the driver's seat. It lets you own your energy. It lets you own who you are. You get to ground yourself in who you are, your decisions, you making a decision. You're entitled to make every decision and choice that you want. So why are you not making the ones that feel the freaking best? And when you think that money is going to make you feel the freaking best, girlfriend, this is not the podcast for you. You have missed the mark entirely. I say that with so much love, but it's the God, honest truth, and we need to have more vulnerable, honest conversations about this, because a life you chasing wealth, you chasing money, is not a life anybody wants to live. I'd rather live an abundant life where I'm full right now and I can find a bazillion ways to be full right now. So you're no longer chasing success, you are creating it, and that's the freaking vibe. Okay, to tie this up with a beautiful bow.
Speaker 1:My question for you is what's the rush? Why are you sprinting towards something that might take longer? Not because you're failing, but it's because it's meant to. Why are you sprinting? If rushing hasn't worked for you yet, maybe it's time to try something new. Relax your nervous system, trust your timeline and give yourself the freedom to enjoy the process. Chilling out doesn't mean you're not working hard. It means you're working smarter, you're in alignment and you're moving with intention, and that's the formula for real success.
Speaker 1:Real talk straight from me to you, someone who's been on one side and I'm now on the other, and not nowhere near where I wanna be, but damn happy with where I'm at. So really let this sink in. Listen to this a couple of times if you need to, but I'm so honored that you were here with me today. Thank you so much. If this resonated with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it as well. I feel like this is the best gift you could give someone as we head into the holiday season. None of this end of year push all this other stuff Like. If you want to talk strategy on how to end the year with a raise, I got you. But that's not rushing, it's working smarter. It's literally doing things, leveraging other opportunities, back-end strategies that I do teach my VIP clients. And if you want a conversation around that, that's sliding in my DMs. I'm happy to talk to you about it. I just had my Black Friday deals go off.
