I am just like my heart is like bursting. I'm just so happy right now. My client results are next level and my old 13-year-old golden retriever is laying right at my feet right now and my kids are healthy. Things are just really really good feet right now and my kids are healthy. Things are just really really good and I'm just having an overwhelming moment of gratitude and I just wanted to talk about that. But you know I have been through the ringer in the last couple of weeks, so you know it's nice to feel this way. But what I'm so jazzed about are the client results that have been flooding in. It was so fun. I'm actually recording this on a Saturday and I don't normally record on Saturdays, but I opened my work email up to emails from a client who was like you won't believe it. I just signed a dream client biggest deal ever and it's like it's going to be huge, it's going to like ripple into other things and I'm like fuck, yes, because that's what it's all about. But I actually want to talk to you about one of my favorite subjects that I work closely with, with one-on-one clients, and I, honest to God, have no idea why I have never talked about this ever. Why have I never talked about this publicly? I've never even shared it with you, and this is the art of getting exactly what you want without hustling. So, in other words, we're going to be talking about negotiation today. Okay, the art of negotiating. So let me just paint a picture for you.

I walked into a car dealership not too long ago. I just got a brand new car, my dream car, and I'm a mom of a three-year-old and a two-year-old and my husband is obviously here and we don't have any family here in Texas, so if I've got to be gone, I need my husband to step in, because no one's going to be going car shopping with a three-year-old and two-year-old who would God bless you if you have. But I walked into a car dealership with a very specific vision. I knew exactly what I wanted fully loaded SUV, top of the line and I wanted it at a price that made the most sense for me, which I already had in my head and I wasn't there to settle.

Speaker 1:

Now, most people when they think of car buying, they shrink down. I want you to now like do you love going to buy a car? I have never met a single person outside of myself who loves that and outside of my dad, because a lot of the skills that I've learned are actually from him. He is a masterful negotiator and I think I have outdone him. What is that like? Like young grasshopper, you have like mastered it all. Like is that Karate Kid? I don't know. Obviously I don't. I'm not in that phase yet where my kids are old enough for that, anyway.

So, like I said, now most people they might walk into a car dealership feeling nervous, normal, or feel like they need to accept whatever deal that is offered to them, like their hands are tied. But that's not me. No, no, no. So here's what happened. I negotiated $6,500 over asking price for my trade in for the car I was trading in, and I walked out with my dream car, fully loaded, for $15,000 off the sticker price. Literally, the GM told me, as we were wrapping everything up, I have never seen a deal like this before. Well done, and she obviously signed off on it and it's amazing.

But let me tell you it wasn't luck, and it wasn't just good timing, and it wasn't just manifestation and yo girl over here loves manifestation but actually, my friend, it was the power of owning my power, which is negotiation. That same power is what I teach all of my clients who work close proximity to me. One of my clients walked into her boss's office and negotiated a $10,000 raise. Yeah, when she was given a raise just six months prior, another one completely rewrote the contract of her division like rewrote a contract because she shot her shot. I have endless examples that I can give to you with, like housing and rent or a mortgage and like, honestly, I can give you so many stories, but the thing is is that owning your power and learning how to negotiate which is owning your power, by the way will change your life, and today that's what I'm going to talk to you about. I want to talk to you about the actual how, so what most people get wrong when it comes to negotiation, and I want to set the record straight.

Negotiation is not about being pushy or aggressive or difficult. That's the story and the lie we've been told and, honestly, it holds everyone back, you included, I'm guessing. Here's where most people get it wrong. They think that negotiation is only about the money. Spoiler alert it's not. It's about creating what feels most in alignment with you and your desire and staying true to it. They think negotiation is about getting more from others. Absolutely not. It's about recognizing your worth and clearly communicating it, and most think that it's a skill reserved for certain types of people. Like what the hell is that? But guess what? Negotiation is a skill that anyone repeat, anyone can learn, including you today. So let me ask you this how many times have you thought I wish I could have that, but stopped yourself because you didn't believe it was possible or it was out of budget. How often have you wanted to ask for something but decided to just settle instead? Time to get honest with yourself. If you're nodding along, this episode is for you entirely what we're about to head into. I want to share a few stories next, because I think it's so important to see what's possible when you step fully into your power and learn how to ask for what you want by clearly communicating what I just shared.

One of my clients was very nervous about asking for a raise, as most are. She was just given a raise. She's like there's no way, but I feel that I'm undervalued here at this company. So we discussed and she was saying like, what if they say no? Or, worse, what if they think I'm too demanding? But I worked with her. I did my framework, my strategy. We worked on her confidence. I reminded her who the hell she is, I helped her with her language, I helped her craft everything and I, most importantly, I helped her with her energy. And she walked into that meeting and she didn't just get a raise, she got a $10,000 bump, a 10k bump. She locked in $10,000 in one day, like hell freaking. Yes, that's my world.

Speaker 1:

Another client was stuck in a contract that honestly, didn't even work for her anymore. She's like I'm barely getting paid for what I'm delivering. The company's making money hand over, fist off of me. This is bullshit, I want more. It felt restricted to her, it felt unfair and, honestly, it was for how much she was producing. So we worked together to rewrite it and shoot her shot to the powers that be in a way that aligned with what she felt she was worthy of and deserved. And not only did her boss agree to the changes, she got a raise out of it. Like no joke, she got a raise out of it. So they implemented and rewrote this contract and gave her more money. Like insane.

Speaker 1:

Writing the contract actually affected other people too. So like that's the level of negotiating and the skills that I equip you with when we work together closely and it just like it gets me so passionate and get so fired up. And then another example is just me, I've negotiated a C-suite executive role and title when I was 31. How many C-suite executives do you know at 31? It might be more of a thing now because things are like changing. But I know how to clearly communicate what I want and I know how to present myself, and so, in doing so, I've negotiated better pay, c-suite titles. I've negotiated aligned partnerships, even daily boundaries, that allow me to live my life with freedom.

Negotiation isn't just about deals. It's about deciding what you're available for in life and learning what that is and clearly communicating it. So why does any of this matter? Well, it's because negotiation isn't just about getting a deal. It's about reclaiming your power. Hint, hint, hint. I've been saying that this whole time.

When you master this, everything shifts. You stop feeling like you're at the mercy of other people. You stop walking into rooms and conversations like you're out of control. You stop settling for good enough. You start creating a life that feels aligned, expansive, abundant and ultimately yours. Think about it. What would your life look like if you knew how to exactly ask for what you wanted and felt confident that you'd get it? Can you just sit with that for a second? How would your relationships change? How would your business, how would your confidence? If you walked into every situation confident that you knew how to exactly ask for what you wanted? Your life would do a full 180. And I bet you're not doing that right now, and the reason is, like I said before no one teaches you these things and I feel bad that I have not talked about this up to this point, but it just hit me like a ton of bricks driving the boys to school and I was like it was like a download, like why are you not helping more people with this? And I only help my one-on-one clients with this. Like more people got to know. So here's the shift that changes everything.

Negotiation is not about taking. Negotiation is not about taking. It's about creating win-win scenarios. If you're my client, you freaking know how often do I say this when we talk about this. Can we find a win-win? Can we find a win-win?

Speaker 1:

It starts with getting clear on what you want, believing you deserve it and showing up with confidence that you will get it. So here's a little exercise for you. I want you to take a piece of paper and write down one thing you've been settling for. Maybe it's a work situation, maybe it's a client, maybe it's a boundary in your personal life. Whatever it is, maybe it's something you've been afraid to ask for. Write down what that is, and then the next thing is you want to write down what you actually want instead. Now, I don't want you to write down what feels reasonable. I want you to write down what you actually desire, and then the next step is how can you start showing up in alignment with that desire? That's where the magic begins.

So this episode really isn't just about negotiation You're probably catching on. It's all about empowerment. It's about stepping into your reality, where you don't just hope for more, you fucking claim it. Because when you master this skill, you don't just get better deals, better clients, better scenarios, better partnerships, you get a better life, and I don't even say that lightly. That's the only thing that makes sense. It's not me just doing the woo, only, there is something called the law of action. That's the only thing that makes sense. It's not me just doing the woo only, there is something called the law of action. This is the action. It's learning skills to own your power, to walk into every situation and always get what you want, or, better yet, finding a win-win for both scenarios, because that's ultimately the best negotiators, because it's not a taking game, it's a win-win game.

You start showing up in rooms differently when you learn this. You attract aligned opportunities that literally are like how is this even happening? Because people have been given a good vibe from you. People respect you. When you go for a win-win scenario, you stop settling for good enough because you're getting a win-win scenario and you start creating exactly what you want. You start building a life, exactly what you want, because you're unavailable for anything else. So let me ask you what is one area of your life where you're ready to stop settling and start negotiating? Are you ready to claim your power and walk into every conversation and not play small, not shrink yourself down in every area of your life, every part of your life where you're like I'm walking in claiming my power and I'm going to find a win-win situation? Now, of course, this goes much deeper than me telling you find a win-win situation, and a lot of people usually then need help cultivating the confidence, finding the words, asking the right questions, and that's where I come in.

And I'm like this is incredible, like who knew that? Me just going to you for personal things. All of a sudden, you want to hire my services because of the way I conduct myself, the way I bring what I bring to the table, the conversations, the vibe, all of it. All of it.

You are your brand, whether you're online showing up as her or in person showing up as her, so got to always remember that. All right, let's make this year so fucking epic.
