How are you doing, gosh?

Speaker 1:

It feels like it's been a minute since I've sat down and recorded a solo episode, and I know it took like a week off there, but my parents were in town. It was so, so fun to have them come into town and just always show them new areas of Texas, as we've discovered this place, and have my mom stay a couple days later. She's so kind. She decided to stay three days, four days actually, later than planned. My dad went home because my horse actually had to have a second surgery. Yeah, you're hearing that right. He actually had white line disease in his front left hoof, which was what we thought was an abscess. So if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I've been talking about that. But it turned out it was white line disease. And get this. It took four vets. By the time I had the fourth vet out he's the one who's like this is not an abscess, this is white line disease, and white line disease does not cure itself. You got to cut that sucker out. So it's basically a diseased part of the hoof that separates the outer hoof wall from the inner hoof wall, and you got to get that infection out by cutting part of the outer hoof out. And so now poor guy is in his stall for like at least a month, possibly two, and it's just. Oh, I thought he was handling stall rest well, because he was after his first surgery, but it turns out he was just in so much pain Like it's not, I'm not laughing, but he was in so much pain that he just didn't want to get out. And now that he's feeling completely himself, he's like get me out of here, get me out of here. And I'm like I'm so sorry, I can't. Anyways, things are finally. Finally there's the dark cloud has been lifted off of my horse in the barn where I keep him at, and I feel brighter skies ahead. So, anyways, I hope you're doing beautifully. What else can I fill you on? Oh, my gosh, my oldest turned four. That's crazy, like crying over that, but it's also such a gift. I'm so lucky to have a four-year-old.

Speaker 1:

I always say, from both sides of the coin, you can always look at something in a sad way or also in a grateful way. Okay, I want to talk to you about power moves and how to own your power and command a success in your life, and this isn't a strategy that you can just go plug and play. All of a sudden, boom, you're going to now have all these crazy results. This isn't something like that. This is an embodiment conversation that, when I shifted it. My results did change. Everything in my world did shift, and I'm not talking just with my finances and business. Every encounter I had was always in my favor, and I talk a lot about that on my she Is Redefined Instagram handle. If you're not following me over there, definitely head over there, because it's just when you realize where you're giving power away and then how you can claim it, everything in your world starts falling into place. So I want to tell you a little story about when I first started my business and if you're an OG, you probably know but I used to think if I just continued to put in the hours and worked harder and if I proved myself enough, then success would naturally follow.

Speaker 1:

And yes, I've talked about this in the past, but I think we need to tie it back to how this plays with your power and how it played with mine. So I would took every client who showed interest. I'd answer direct messages at all hours of the day, I would bend over backwards to make sales happen or to get a new client on, and the entire time I was exhausted, I was undercharging and I was honestly feeling very stuck overall, like I wasn't feeling like I had made it or I even had a successful business because I wasn't operating it like that. And then I had this one client who was not a dream client. She was more demanding, always needing one more thing, one more thing, a lot of inconvenience, a lot of pushing the boundaries. And the kicker is she was my lowest paying client but she actually required the most work out of me and I hate to say, she was a headache. But it just wasn't the best fit and I knew that at the start. That's the thing. I knew that.

Speaker 1:

But I was too afraid to not take the sale in the first place and I was also afraid of letting that client go. So I told myself well, at least I'm making money, at least I'm growing my business, at least I'm building my business. But I finally had to snap out of that. I was on a call with her and instead of me doing my typical kind of like you know, being okay with her pushing the boundaries, I was continuously bending over backwards. I stood my ground and I said this is actually how this works and if this is not a fit anymore, then maybe we need to go our separate ways. And she actually did not love that feedback and agreed and we're fine. Now. Nothing's weird between her and I and I still believe that she listens to my podcast but we had to both take a hard look.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't just me, it was also her. She was feeling like she was needing something else, and so this was also like my first year in business, and so I was learning. I was learning how to do things super green in a lot of ways, a rookie, if you will and she was also starting her business, and so she didn't really fully understand what it would be like to work close, but she wanted close proximity. But after we had that conversation, I signed a dream client, I think, maybe two weeks later, and it was triple the price All because I decided to have the difficult conversation read the tea leaves, if you will. Then I had the difficult conversation, and I did that for both of us, because I don't think she would have brought it up, because we were both kind of like these, like newer in business. She wanted to learn everything from me, but it was not very clear or clean.

Speaker 1:

It was kind of messy, and so in that moment, the biggest thing that I learned was I was giving my power away to her to money. I was not building the business where I attract and I have boundaries in place and that I'm not reliant on money, because money is an abundant resource. I don't have to worry or stress or take any kind of client I can get. And I had been waiting for someone else to tell me how to run my business and how to really take on clients who are the best match, and that's why now I have an application process, by the way, like I was like waiting for someone, the way I was waiting for someone, it was like I was waiting for dream clients all of a sudden to find me. And I was waiting for a certain time when I hit a certain milestone where, all of a sudden, things would be effortless and people would respect my boundaries and I don't need the money I attract. And it was like no, no, no, no, katie, I had to decide that for myself and start operating as that myself. So the biggest lesson I learned is power is not given, it's claimed. You don't wait for it, you take it.

Speaker 1:

Most women in business don't even realize that they're doing this. You might be thinking, oh well, I've never had that experience or I don't really give my power away. I feel like I'm in power, I've got my power, but let's do a little quick check, okay. Are you saying yes to clients who aren't actually aligned just because you're afraid of turning down money, like I was just sharing with you? Or are you setting your prices based on what you think people will buy instead of what you actually deserve? Are you waiting for your content to go quote viral before you believe in your authority as the business owner that you are? Are you low-key, hoping people will see your value instead of you embodying it? Do you have people who are walking all over you, no boundaries, and you're just saying it's okay because you're getting paid from them? This is the real conversation and here's a real gut check.

Speaker 1:

How often are you waiting for someone else to validate your work, give you words of affirmation, before you move with confidence in how you show up? Are you relying on your 3D external environment to prove that you're worthy, to prove that you can increase your prices because you are getting words of affirmations, compliments, wins from your clients? This was me for way too long and honestly, it was a power leak. It sucked. It was an energy suck and when you're waiting for that external validation, you're giving someone else control over your success. You're saying I'll believe in myself when they believe in me first, and that's why your results aren't exactly where you want them to be. So where in your business are you waiting for permission instead of taking your power and making your power move? So to me, I see this shift happen in my clients all the time, and it's the moment when everything clicks where all of a sudden they go game over. I'm done.

Speaker 1:

I had a client who kept lowering her prices because she was afraid of rejection and losing her repeat buyers and the bulk of my business are repeat buyers, by the way, I don't know if any of y'all know that. I think I've talked a little bit about that. And so there's renewals that happen, and so for this client, every time a renewal would happen, she would lower her price because she was so afraid of losing the client and losing that recurring income. So this client of mine, when it would come up for renewal, she would always offer a discount for people to continue to stay. Or if she would get inquiries from possibly new clients, potential new clients the second she mentioned price she would get in her head about the energy and she'd immediately offer a discount before they even responded to the price. And guess what? She wasn't signing any new clients, people weren't renewing with her and she'd get ghosted all the time. And then, of course, that would send her into a frenzy, which I don't blame her, I used to be that. So we had to flip the script entirely. I had her practice owning her price. I had her saying it with conviction and standing firm through the work that we do intimately. And then what happened next is she signed her next client full price of what she wants to charge and a pay in full, at no hesitation, like dream client dropping in. And the reason is because when you own the outcome, people trust you more and people feel that there's a lot of times where clients come to me and they have an idea for a business or they have an idea for an offer and they way undercharge it.

Speaker 1:

Now take this with some context. When you're launching something and you don't have a cohort who is experienced yet, you have to play the strategy to get some actual, real testimonials and all that. We're not talking about that. I'm talking about women who have this idea and it sounds brilliant. And from the woman who's talking to me I'm like oh, I bet you she's going to tell me that this thing is going to be like $2,000 plus and the words that come out of her mouth for like an eight-week program she's talking about like $500. And I'm like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. People actually won't buy that because you give off a vibe that you're luxury, that you're high end, that you're expensive and you would get a lot of value. And then when people see that sticker price, you're not going to be calling in dream clients with $500 for eight weeks of your time. That is not a match because a boss babe who wants high level, close proximity to learn some awesome stuff is going to look at that and go, wow, what am I going to get out of that? Eight weeks, $500. And so it depends on what the container is, what it looks like, and are you actually pricing yourself with how your energy, is your worth and your knowledge?

Speaker 1:

When you start moving like a woman who knows she's worth it, the entire game changes. You stop asking and start deciding Clients, money, opportunities. They start to chase you instead of you chasing them. You walk into every room or every negotiation or every sales conversation knowing that you don't need to prove yourself. You just are. You are that woman. You command a presence because you're walking in your power, like when I negotiated my car deal. I just got a brand new car. I walked into that whole entire situation knowing I was getting the deal that I wanted, not like hoping, wishing, praying, not letting them play their stupid head games with me because I am so good at sales and negotiating that I know exactly how to play the game. No, I walked in knowing and because I owned that outcome. I got over $6,000 for my old car, which like when does that ever happen? My trade-in, and I got $15,000 off my dream car. No hesitation, signed deal. What is that Deal? Signed, delivered, whatever the saying is, boom. Even the general manager was like I have never seen a deal like this before. Like way to go. And it wasn't with a man. I'm a woman, I went in by myself.

Speaker 1:

This is what happens when you move with certainty. People feel it. We are all energy. People feel energy, they respect it and they match your energy. And one thing that I talk with my clients about all the time is can you be 1% more in your favor, holding your energy just a percentage higher than the other person in the room or other people in the room. It doesn't take 20, 30, 40, 50% of you outweighing anyone. It actually is a minute small some would say negligible difference that changes the scales entirely, shifts it entirely into your favor. So you might be thinking oh yeah, I've heard this before, it's just another cool mindset thing. No, it's actually not. This is all embodiment. You need to embody this power, your power. And here's how you can start this today. Why don't you just stop waiting for the perfect moment and just start deciding right now? Power moves aren't made with permission. They're made with conviction. So start doing that today.

Speaker 1:

Number two set the standard. You don't wait to see people and see how they're gonna treat you. You teach them how to treat you with how you're embodying your energy in every situation. You own the room, you own your price, you own your energy. And now, the last but not least, stop over explaining yourself and start embodying. Powerful people don't need to convince they command. Your energy says more than words ever could. So which one of these are you going to implement? First? I want to hear it all. I just shared it with you Again. I'll do a quick recap. Number one decide instead of waiting. Number two set the standard. Number three stop over explaining and start embodying. I want to know which one you're going to implement first, because I promise you, when you move like a woman who expects success and no, this is again not some cool little mindset trick, it's embodiment Things show up every single time, every single time, like it'll shock you. It'll shock you. So, to wrap this up, power is not something that you're given, my friend, it's something that you claim. The second you stop playing small and start making power moves, everything changes.
