Trusting yourself is the ultimate shortcut to success because it fundamentally changes your energy, actions, and how others respond to you – this isn't just feel-good advice but a neurological shift that attracts opportunities and accelerates results.
• The women who move fastest aren't using different strategies – they simply have more conviction and trust in themselves
• We're conditioned through education and society to follow formulas instead of trusting our instincts
• Self-trust literally changes how your brain works, shifting from looking for failure to seeking evidence of success
• Your nervous system moves from fight-or-flight to calm certainty when you consistently trust yourself
• People are naturally drawn to leaders who operate with certainty
• Three ways to build self-trust today: make decisions without second-guessing, keep promises to yourself, stop outsourcing your power
• Stop asking "should I?" questions which reinforce the belief you don't have the answers

Trusting yourself is the only shortcut to success, not because it's some vague like feel-good concept, but because it literally changes everything that you do, the way that you move, how people respond to you and how fast things can come together. You are the power. Move Like you. That's you. Welcome to. She is Redefined, the podcast where we break free from societal expectations, redefine our identities and step fully into the woman we were always meant to be. I'm Katie Smith, your host and guide on this journey of transformation. Here we're all about embracing change, cultivating confidence and living life on our own terms. Each week, we'll dive into topics that inspire, challenge and empower you to redefine what it means to be you. So if you're ready to rewrite your story and live life that's bold, authentic and unapologetically yours, let's dive in. All right, welcome back. Okay, you probably have noticed this about me I'm not really a small talk. Let me get you caught up on my life. If you want more of that, let me know. I am such a driver buyer. If you know the different personalities of buyer, this literally brings me back to my corporate days, when I would do trainings and train people on sales and negotiation, and if you're a client of mine, you know how freaking good I am at that. Literally, I've been asked by not one, not two, but three one-on-one clients of why I didn't become an attorney, because I've been able to help them negotiate like the craziest things. That is my jam. If you have not known that or if you don't know that but look at me just getting off on tangent oh, I'm a driver buyer. I like to like get right into it, just like myself, like I don't really care about people's lives of the podcast people that I follow, like shoot me, I don't like sorry, I just want the goods Right. So I am very much like that when I do my own things. That's maybe why you're here so I could give you all these updates under the sun about my family, but I'm kind of like who cares? I don't know. So tell me if you want more of that and I can share more of my life. But anyways, let's get to the secret at hand and it's all around trusting yourself, and trusting yourself is the shortcut. Most women think success is about getting the right strategy, posting at a certain time or the right time, working harder than anyone else, putting the time in. I mean, I do feel like that paradigm is shifting, but I don't see people talking about the power of trusting yourself and that, like anything and everything is all around how much you trust yourself. The women who move the fastest have conviction and trust within themselves. They actually don't have a different strategy than you, and if you've invested in yourself at all like multiple times, you would know that everyone's saying the same dang thing, but someone has a different approach and energy around it. So let's be real for a second. Why doesn't anyone teach us how to trust ourselves? No one does Like.
Speaker 1:I didn't learn that in school. I learned that by my entrepreneurial journey. Which. Who said it? Oh, my gosh, bob Heilig, is that his name, I think. He always said that entrepreneurship is personal development with a paycheck, and I cannot agree more. So when I grew up, I wanted to always seek approval. I took that well into. About two or three years ago. I had the good girl conditioning. I just did that short riff on religion and God. If I wasn't a good girl, I wasn't liked, I wasn't accepted.
Speaker 1:We are taught in school and it's not a bad thing. I feel like I used to talk a lot of shit about this stuff and then I realized it's not a bad thing, it's just part of human earth school here. But like we have to follow a formula to get it right. Right, the grades they teach us to do all these things where it's like you are going to pass if you get it right. So you have to follow a formula instead of trusting your instincts. Right In classrooms you really got to sit down and shut up. That's why homeschool is such a hot thing right now because they don't want their children to grow up like that. They want their children to follow their internal instincts and trust themselves.
Speaker 1:But school and society, for many, many reasons, we're taught not to do that and that's okay. That's your path. It's supposed to happen that way. Another thing is like we're kind of taught to overthink every decision because we're always trying to get it right, and this can be down to getting a blueberry muffin or something, or what do I want to get to drink for coffee at the coffee shop? It's literally so overwhelming at a restaurant, do you feel me on that? Yeah, but when we operate this way, number one, we're not trusting ourselves. Number two, we're second-guessing ourselves at every single thing, at every turn. We're stuck in this energy of like, what if this doesn't work. Is this the right choice or not? Am I going to get it wrong? And we're always waiting for clarity instead of deciding that you already have it. And if you've ever felt like you need to fix yourself before you can fully show up, this is why. This is totally why.
Speaker 1:But the women you see soaring and growing and not stopping and scaling their business, they really don't do any of the things that I just listed. Like they don't wait to feel ready, they just move. They have a level of trust within themselves more so than you do if you're not making the moves that they are making right. They don't hesitate before making a move. They don't hesitate before making a move. They don't hesitate before investing in themselves. They don't look at a certain price tag and say they're not worth it. They don't look around for permission. They're moving completely different. Like that's the best way I can say this Now.
Speaker 1:When we don't trust ourselves, there's actually some science behind that. Like that's a real thing. Trusting yourself literally changes the way your brain works, because when you trust yourself, your brain stops looking for the proof of failure and it starts looking for the proof of success. So that's why two people live completely different realities, because we create our reality with what we tell ourselves upstairs in our brain, and can't forget about the nervous system. Your nervous system shifts out of flight or fight and into calm certainty when you trust yourself over and over and over again. So what that means is the energy that attracts high level clients, clients who pay in full, higher offers, people who will pay you for your higher offers. The energy that attracts more money, more opportunities that's when your nervous system is chilled the fuck out and more living in a state of certainty. Another thing is people are drawn to leaders who are certain. That's why my book of business is completely changing, because I started operating myself completely different. Of course, my messaging started to change, but I started attracting more leaders. Because that is what I'm doing. I'm paving my path of rich with ease, freedom and flow.
Speaker 1:But insane success without this is trusting yourself. When you trust yourself, it's not some stupid mindset trick that I'm trying to tell you about. Like, we are so far past that, my friend. It's a power move. Trusting yourself is a power move. Why am I going to water myself down or shrink? Because whoever I have an encounter with has more power over me. I don't care if that's a boss figure, an authoritative figure. They don't have any more power over you.
Speaker 1:If you can go into every encounter and this is what I break down in Power Moves, that activation audio series like you need to get your hands on it, the testimonials are insane. But like you don't have any less power over anyone you come into contact with or interact with. Like you get to say, you stepping into any situation, a car dealership walking in, you can control how it all goes if you move with certainty and power and you are in control of your attitude and your nervous system and you don't think you don't know all the things. That's just a simple example. That could happen to anything with your school's teachers, with the principal, with your bank, with your mortgage, like, whatever it may be. You would be shocked if you even started playing around with this energy. You can tap all into that in Power Moves. I'll link that down below. I have to write a note, okay, because ultimately, like when you trust yourself, like your energy shifts first and the results follow, it bends. It's like the 51% rule I say this all the time Like can you be 1% more in favor of what you want by how you're holding yourself Again, not a mindset trick, it's literally do you trust yourself to have things work out for you, do you? And do you trust yourself on a minute-by-minute basis to where it can?
Speaker 1:I was just working intimately with a one-on-one client about helping her walk within her edge and helping her find all this, and it was a beautiful, beautiful work. And I gave her literally a cheat sheet this, and it was a beautiful, beautiful work. And I gave her like literally, a cheat sheet. It was like half a page long so that she can always course correct to make sure that she is staying within her edge, which is specific to her. This is what I do with one-on-one clients. I find your specific edge that's unique to you. I help you own your uniqueness and step into the world in that where you are undeniable, un-fucking-deniable, not one option of many. You're the only option because no one else is you. And guess what, when you figure out your little cheat sheet codes that I give you to walk within your edge, content improves your life with relationships, improve your health and your body improves. You're in alignment where everything flows. It's like weight falls off. It's like all of a sudden, you look more youthful and young and brighter, because you're actually walking within your edge of your uniqueness of you.
Speaker 1:Had to go on a little tangent there because I'm just so. I love this work. It's so liberating, it's so freeing. So what can you do today to trust yourself? How can you step into full self-trust today If you've been second-guessing yourself, waiting for clarity, hesitating on a move? Here's how to shift into a quick little I got this moment. You can do this today. So can you make a decision and not to second-guess it Like move. Can you do that today around anything? The fastest way to build trust within yourself is keep a promise to yourself and do what you say. So this is everything down to going on a walk, putting on makeup, doing your hair, whatever it is working out, whatever it is.
Speaker 1:Second thing you can do is just move first and let the proof follow, and then the last thing is stop outsourcing your power. So every time you hesitate and you ask is this the right move? What should I do? Should I do this Like remove, should, like? Is this the right move? What should I do? Should I do this Like remove, should, like shoulds? We don't want to talk about shoulds anymore.
Speaker 1:Anytime you do that you're reinforcing the idea that you don't already have the answer right. It kind of makes sense when you look at it like that. So instead decide, just decide and move and know that whatever move you make is always going to work out Like, can you just walk around like that today? Whichever move I make, it's going to work out either way. Even if there's a bump in the road, don't care, we're not going to play this game of.
Speaker 1:I should have done this. Maybe would have been differently. Like, who's to say? No one is to say. And if you, if you heard someone tell you that, oh, you should have done this for x, y and z, they're taking your power. You're not. Instead, you just have complete conviction of, like everything worked out, no problem. If you have that, that conversation wouldn't even be brought up. I know I'm talking like really high level here. So, like, hopefully I'm not losing you at all.
Speaker 1:All right, I hope this message landed for you. This episode did. If it did, will you please let me know, tag me on the social, send it to somebody you know, leave a review.
