Bye. Welcome to Well Nice, a podcast brought to you by a collective of wellness junkies conspiring to curate contentment. From fashion to fitness to floristry, we'll delve into the small pleasures and self-care practices that make us feel well nice. SPEAKER_00Mixing anything from crystals and elixirs and art and interiors to bed raving in the feel of newsletters, this exploration is not just wellness, it's just Well Nice. Hello, Lizzie Bland. Hello,
SPEAKER_02Lizzie Doherty-Cole. We're back. It's so good to just be chatting to you with the kids running around downstairs and we're just like talking wellness. We're back. Love it. We're back, we're back. Where have we been? What have we been doing? What have you been doing? We've had a few kids and we've moved countries, so we've both been pretty busy. We are back this series without our gorgeous Nia for the time being. She's spinning a lot of plates. We are just, we're going to hold the fort and we're going to dig, deep dive into wellness trends, things that we want to try, basically just trying to keep our wellness up. This is going to encourage us to, and hopefully we can use our payments and write off all our payments for all these health and wellness trends as a tax thing, no?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely, absolutely. So we're just jumping on here quickly just to give everyone a little taster of what's to come in new season. It's mainly going to be, isn't it, our experiences and opinions, I would say. We're heavily focused this season on our opinions.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would say we're aiming to get some guests on down the track, but we have a lot of opinions. And I would say we have different views on wellness and different like wants and what the things we want to try are very different from each other. So I think it's a good...
SPEAKER_00And I think our experiences as well, like the list of things we've tried. When I look back on the list, when we first were coming up with a concept for the podcast, I was like, whoa, I've really wasted like thousands of pounds on things that are going to make me well. And I'm still not well. So we've
SPEAKER_02got a lot to
SPEAKER_00talk about.
SPEAKER_02Is that why your current obsession is now water, the cheapest?
SPEAKER_00If you say that, though, it's actually not. But yeah, that's definitely one I'm very excited to talk about this season. See, as
SPEAKER_02any listeners will be like, there'll be some listeners that will be like, oh my God, yeah, I love water. And I'm like, not to tell the difference if I was drinking out of a pond to if I was drinking from your whatever you drink. But then I remember you walking in Bondi, she would walk out of her house and... Just go, especially for this bottle of alkaline water. And I'm sure you don't even drink alkaline. Is that so 2020? It's
SPEAKER_00so delicious, that water. It was just silk. I can only describe it as silk on the tongue, honestly. I've got filtered a big water filter here at home. If I'm out, I will get or an Evian. But then you've got face microplastics. But anyway, this is a whole other episode on water, guys. Guys. Anyway, so back to it. What else? What are you going to be talking about in this season, Lizzie?
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I'm going to probably be diving into a bit about running. For anyone that listened to our previous seasons of Well Nice podcast, I've always said that I am not a runner and I hate running and it's not me and I only do Pilates and weight training. And then I moved house and I joined a run club and now I'm like a proper runner. Shout out to Bronte Run Club in Saffron Morden. However, I'm now out of the run club because I've sprained my ankle doing half marathon. So I haven't been running for a few weeks, but I just... I was just always that person that was like, cannot run, don't want to run. And then I just found somewhere that I felt like I could be a bit shit for a few weeks and just get better and didn't feel like pressure and like everyone was going to go faster than me. And I just genuinely really enjoyed it. So I'm massively missing it at the moment. But yeah, I've just, yeah, I feel like it.
SPEAKER_00so proud of you for that actually because you really yeah did used to hate it and just was like completely wrote it off and what I love about it is what we're going to get into a running episode so I don't want to go too much into it now but just love that about wellness it's all a journey isn't it even if you circle back to it now and then there's just so much to unpack there because community is essentially what helped really blossom your love of running yeah
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And I also think it's so fine to change opinions. Like two episodes in, I'll probably be talking about water as well. Like I'll be obsessed. I just feel like you can change your mind on these things and it's fine. And then there's a few other things I wanted to go through that in like past few months I've been doing like whoop. So I want to dive into that, which I am not wearing anymore. So I want to do the pros and cons of that. And then baking. There's a few others. But yeah, we've got a list as long as our arm, haven't we? Things we want to go through. Yeah. Japanese head massage. If anyone has had a Japanese head massage, please send us a DM at well underscore underscore nice. We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions because that just seems like a dream for me. You lie back and this waterfall just goes through your head and it basically massages your head. Incredible. Any other topics that you are excited about going forward? I'd
SPEAKER_00like to try the castor oil packs. I haven't tried that yet. A bit of liver detoxification. Yeah, although it does look a bit faffy. I'm quite also interested in the whole taping of the face, like the Botox-free facial wrinkle taping.
SPEAKER_02Two things you said, I have zero idea what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, we'll have to get into that. It's a big commitment. I'm not going to lie, I'm probably not going to be able to do it. It's too much time heavy, but I'm interested maybe to try it. Yeah, but I haven't tried those things. I have tried mouth taping. We could, yeah, talk about that. A few things that were not for me, maybe took one too many supplements at once. That's an episode down the track that we'll probably need to talk about. But yeah, I'm just excited to be talking about wellness but as we always say it's in so many facets and one of them is getting to talk to my friend every week about it so yeah
SPEAKER_02let's celebrate it we want to hear everyone's opinions and thoughts and recommendations of what we could try what we should try so again please send your suggestions to us it really yeah it gives us a bit of a understanding of what you want to hear about and what you want to learn about as well. Like you're very into your weight training at the moment. And I think that's also really cool for as we get older, how important weight training is and how I would say we're such Pilates girls. And we've always, not that we've ever had this opinion, but it's always been like, oh, you do Pilates as your strength training. And then, oh, you can do the other thing. Do you know what I mean? You can't be one of those CrossFitters. And I feel like there was always just, I don't know, this kind of divide, which is silly, but how it's a holistic thing and we should be able
SPEAKER_00to do a bit of everything. Definitely. And that's the approach I've been with exercise. And I noticed the difference. It's like your body needs a bit, especially at my age, I would say, I'm finding my body needs a bit of everything. The weight training definitely works. Also works for my schedule because it's not run to class, got to be there at this time. It's really all about what time you want to go and how long you've got to dedicate to it and how you're feeling that day and what you want to work and then yeah Pilates definitely still has its place and so does yoga because I've got to stretch this old tight body out so yeah and then even a little bit of running where I channel Lizzie Bland
SPEAKER_02for you are you have always been like you did city surf and stuff
SPEAKER_00I feel like no I didn't do it actually no I never did no but I've always dipped my toe in and out of running only because I like the aspect about being outdoors and the fresh air and like I live by the water so I love like that and the vitamin D so that sort of is my motivation for running really and a good playlist or good podcast always get that lined up to know that's going to inspire me to get out the door but yeah I have been enjoying the weight training so yeah we can explore that a bit a little bit more too yes very excited
SPEAKER_02We look forward to hearing from you. Remember to like and subscribe, as they always say, and follow us on Instagram at well underscore underscore nice and send us a DM if you'd like to hear more. We'd love to chat to you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, please share with your friends too, as we'd love to, yeah, get it out there a little bit more. Amazing. Bye.
UNKNOWNBye, love.
