What happens when someone who has been spoken down to, underestimated, and made to feel less than — decides she has something joyful and important to give the world anyway?

In this uplifting episode of The True You Podcast, host Paula Burns sits down with Judith Waters — CEO of Jolly Fun Ltd, published author, entertainer, and one of the most genuinely joyful human beings you will encounter on this podcast — for a conversation about resilience, self-acceptance, and the extraordinary power of deciding to bring light into the world despite everything that tried to dim it.

Judith's journey has not been easy. Living with dyslexia and sight issues, and having spent years being spoken to negatively and made to feel small, Judith knows what it means to doubt yourself — deeply and for a long time. But over the years, through a journey that was at times very difficult, she came to a profound and hard-won place of self-acceptance. Of truly knowing who she is. And of deciding that who she is has something the world needs.

That something became Jolly Fun Ltd — a business born in lockdown with a beautifully simple mission: to bring joy and fun to everyone. Her books, suitable for virtually all ages and abilities, have found their way into care homes, schools, nurseries, and homes across the UK and abroad — because joy, it turns out, has no age limit and no postcode.

In this episode, we explore:
— Judith's journey of overcoming dyslexia and sight issues to become a published author and CEO — and what she wants other women facing similar challenges to know
— What it does to a woman's sense of self when she is consistently spoken down to and underestimated — and how Judith found her way to genuine self-acceptance
— How Jolly Fun Ltd was born in lockdown and grew from a simple idea into a business reaching care homes, schools, and nurseries across the UK and beyond
— Why bringing joy to others became Judith's mission — and how living that mission transformed her own life
— What self-acceptance actually feels like when you finally arrive at it — and why the journey to get there, however long and difficult, is always worth it

This episode is for every woman who has ever been made to feel like she is too much, not enough, or simply not the kind of person who gets to build something wonderful. Judith is proof that she absolutely is.
