The Ortho Plug is the podcast that delves into the minds of some of the most inspiring orthopedic surgeons in the country. They share their story to orthopedics and the strategies they used (or wished they used) to get to where they are now. But what makes this show so special is that each guest either comes from an underrepresented background, or are actively supporting those that do! Few things are more inspiring than hearing the stories from amazing orthopedic surgeons who you resonate with. It will continue to be this show's goal to share as many stories as possible with the hope that you find confidence and empowerment in your own.

JR Smith is a former Duke University Track & Field athlete and current medical student at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. He is pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery with a particular interest in sports medicine. Mentorship is at the root of his passions and he hopes to provide resources for other students that assist them in achieving their goals.
