It's an honor. Dr. Kielitz, welcome to the ketones and coffee podcast, man.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Lorenzo, it's an honor for me to be here with you. So thank you so much for the invitation. I always love sharing energy of helping people heal their lives and, and live more fantastic.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Absolutely. Absolutely, sir. I'm so, you know, stoked to have you here. You know, it's a pleasure to, you know, be in your presence, man, and have you on the show. I have such a, I told you this before we went live, such an appreciation for your work, helping patients get, you know, obviously pregnant, right? I have four year old myself, a four year old daughter, and another one coming. And the joy that she brings to us, man, such a blessing to have. And that is what you help bring to other families, man. Of course, through nutrition and lifestyle intervention, man. I want to get to how you How you got there, man. And also with that, you know, you also have recognition as a matter of fact. You know, the wall street journal wrote a piece about your clinic in Syracuse, New York, your practice spanning decades. And the most incredible part is that women from all over the country. Come to you for help. How has that clinic over the years in terms of, you know, patient care and treatment option, right? What is it about your practice that makes it special? It's a special place for women with fertility issues.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, we take care of individuals, men and women, single married same sex, opposite sex, everyone and anyone that is, is looking to build their family. And I started seeing my fertility back in 1997 in upstate New York. I'm the kid from L. A. Kicked out of school in a gang. Couldn't read. Father in jail. I always, that's my elevator speech. But I went on to go into medicine. I was inspired by a hippie doctor when I was 19. After breaking a leg, I ended up in upstate New York doing OBGYN and starting a fertility practice up there, seeing my fertility. And I sort of thought, Oh, this is going to great. I'll do a couple hundred cycles a year. I'll be happy as can be. And over the next 25 years, it grew to one of the largest IVF centers in America. We focus on affordability, access, quality, integration, Eastern and Western medicine integration. You mentioned we Nutrition because we focus a lot on nutrition and mindset. And, and we've just stayed, I think price wise, more affordable. And a lot of it is cause that's always been my focus is how to take care of people that could at least afford the high price of fertility care in, in America and, and I'm committed to that. I'd love it.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Man, that's incredible to be able to help those people, especially in need. Right. And I, I was reading, reading this piece about your clinic and You know, women from all over the country come to you for, for help, you know, and that says a lot about your practice. That's basically not offered anywhere else. Right. I want to go back in time with you though.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Yeah.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:you've had a remarkable career. Personal health journey, right? You talked about it, discovering the benefits of lifestyle changes, right? No keto, the carnivore diet. Could you walk us through the events? Maybe that you know, your thought process, maybe, which led to you realizing the potential of diet in improving, maybe, you Also your health and, and plus also within your patients in, in your practice.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, about 20 years ago, I began to integrate a lot of mindfulness, meditation, acupuncture, massage to reduce stress and improve outcomes for those that are suffering from infertility. And some of my patients were getting pregnant on a paleo diet. I had no idea what paleo diet was. And so I started digging deep into paleo diet. And then I found keto diet. And then I tripped over carnivore diet and, and recognizing that diet is a most important component of our health and wellness. And I generally believe that we're all eating an unhealthy diet full of plants and not enough. Animal fat, and I recognize that inflammation being the cause of all disease is mostly caused by high processed foods, which are mostly all made from plant products, and we're not eating enough fatty meat, in my opinion, and so the inflammation causes every disease, a diabetes, hypertension, cancer, stroke, depression, anxiety and including infertility. And when I started in company, incorporating this into my lifestyle, I suffered arthritis, psoriasis, kidney stones, migraines, bowel bleeding. All of these diseases I went from pale from standard diet. To, and I'm Mediterranean, Italian. I mean, I, I ate a healthy diet. I was eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, a lot of seeds and nuts and lean meat, and I was suffering when I went to more fat and eliminated most of the plants personally. I was feeling fantastic. And then when I went to strictly animal based, a diet of bacon, eggs, butter, beef, and salt, that's kind of my baby's diet focus. I suddenly felt better. And then as I shared it with others and I wrote more about it, seeing more and more that are, Reducing inflammation, succeeding in their fertility journey naturally and, or improving their assisted reproductive outcomes. I was like, okay, this is the most amazing thing. So I can help you conceive naturally by simply changing your diet. I mean, I've got to put it out there and I've been writing about it and blogging about it and talking about it. I can't stop talking about it, but ultimately. Inflammation is the cause of all disease. Inflammation is caused by plant sugars, plant chemicals. Heroin, cocaine, marijuana, nicotine, caffeine are all plant chemicals that can damage our body. And then lectins, oxalates, phytates, which are plant antigens, are very inflammatory in our body. in our gut. And and, and those are kind of the main reasons why we're all suffering. And by eating a fatty diet, adding more fat, even as a vegan vegetarian. You can simply add more fat, reduce inflammation, and then eat less frequently that'll also significantly reduce inflammation. So again, you know, 20 years ago, I started into this journey and, and the more and more I learned about inflammation and sharing this concept, I've seen so many more people succeed.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:mm, man, the key there is successfully being successful in their fertility journey is, you know, you certainly stumbled upon such an amazing ingredient in life is protein. Which is, you know, changing your lifestyle, right? Changing your lifestyle, eliminating seed oils, processed food, grains, and sugar. And just focusing on just eating real food, right? You know, getting rid of plants, just eating real food, right? The way we're supposed to eat. And we talk about inflammation. So, can you elaborate in why inflammation plays such a, You know, devastating role with fertility issues. And how does that work? And
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:And our reproductive potential is the most important thing. And so many more people at younger and younger ages are suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, which is inflammation in a woman's pelvis that damages the ovaries, tubes, and uterus scar tissue. Ovarian cysts bleeding problems, significant pain and, and not ovulating or irregular menstrual cycles or heavy bleeding. So, so basically inflammation and the cardinal symptoms or signs of inflammation are redness, swelling heat and pain. So if you get a bug bite, mosquito bite. Or, or a scratch, you'll notice that it suddenly gets red, it begins to enlarge, it gets swollen. If you touch it, it's a little warm and it begins to be a little painful. Well, those are the cardinal signs of inflammation. Well, inside of our body at every cellular or organ level. Level the same thing happens on the inside that happens on the outside. So, when there's things that damage the cells of the uterus tubes, ovaries the prostate, the testicles, the penis all of our organ systems that are related to reproduction get damaged because number one is plant. sugars. So plants break down to sugar. A high sugar diet causes glycation or browning or rusting of the cells. So because we're eating a 3 to 6 plant based meals a day, there's a lot of sugar circulating in our body and the ovaries and the testicles are very sensitive to sugar. that damages the eggs and the sperm. So you don't even know it, but you feel fine, but your eggs and sperm are dysfunctional, just like arthritis, just like back pain, just like stomach pain or migraines. All of those are signs of inflammation that you can feel. You can't always see from the outside, but you know it on the inside. So. The reproductive organs are damaged by what you breathe, drink, and eat, and causes inflammation. And again redness, swelling, heat, pain, cellular dysfunction, damage to the normal function of that organ system, and then failure of that organ system. So polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is common in younger and younger women, plant caused ovarian sickness, Causes many cysts in the ovary and the ovary doesn't ovulate normally. And so, you know, the, the, why part of things, if you ask most doctors and most people, we would say, we don't know, but, but what I believe is again, when you eat food, and, and and just a quick little you eat the whole plants, right? Nice, healthy vegetables. And then you eat them, they break down in the gut and the bloodstream takes the products of that into the, in, in the, your, in your body and delivers it to the organ systems. So you can get the, the sugars and the other. Chemicals and plants, by the way, make estrogen and progesterone, which happens to be the components of the birth control pill. So could it be that because we're eating a high plant based diet? We're consuming a lot of natural estrogen progestins that may be damaging our body that that is the probably the leading cause it's, it goes right to the uterus tubes, ovaries, it damages the cells, the blood flow is damaged and the cells aren't functioning normally anymore and there's a little more complicated stories to this, but on a simplistic level, we know that Diabetics. So diabetes is a disease of a high blood sugar level. It's secondary to a high plant sugar intake and it causes loss of eyesight, heart, Kidneys, limbs, and more, your reproductive organs are just another organ system that's damaged by those same components.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:this is just another symptom of inflammation,
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:That's correct. So, so you, you may not be hurting or see any redness or swelling. But if you're not getting pregnant naturally, or if you develop uterine fibroids or endometriosis or adenomyosis, then then you always have to think about, I've got inflammation. That's why I'm not getting pregnant. It's either happening to the testicles or to the ovaries or to the uterus, which is the implantation environment. And so we're again, Hey doc, I'm healthy. I eat healthy. I feel fine. I'm not getting pregnant. Let's do IVF. Let's do IUI. Let's do surgery, where maybe if you look towards some lifestyle changes, slow it down, cool down the body, because excessive exercise heats up the body, which also heats up the core, which could damage and fry your eggs. And, and then by looking at nutritional changes, you can also reduce the glyco the the glucose load that's damaging your ovaries or your testicles to name two particular organ systems that are damaged secondary to a based low animal fat diet.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:You're talking about PCOS endometriosis, which these other conditions make it. Are we saying make it difficult? To be fertile. Is that
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Reduce. Yeah. So, so, you know, there are plenty of unhealthy people that have babies and we're like, well, those unhealthy people have babies. But. But you have to think of, of health of an organ system, reproductive system, cardiovascular system, neuromuscular system, the, the, the skin system and in your eyesight and ears and things like that. So you might have dysfunction in one area and function in another where someone else is damaged in different areas from the same diet. You know, it's why some people get damaged. By one thing and not another, but essentially, right. It's damaged to the organ system. You have a Ferrari or, or whatever car you have. They all get damaged at some point, not always at the exact time and the exact things, but we know that our brakes are electrical or the, the body or the paint. The tires or the carburetor, the engine it's always, something's going to break down at some point. Yeah. We are essentially a Ferrari. And would you put sugar in the gas tank of a Ferrari? sugar would damage the, the, the Ferrari. We, if you put sugar on the, on the, on the paint and left it there for a week, could that damage the Ferrari paint job? So that's, what's happening to us, our consumption of a high plant based diet, which is essentially breaks down to sugars and other chemicals. Is the cause of almost all of our disease.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Mm. You know, I, I wanna get to help somebody who experiences symptoms of infertility. Let's get there. What are some of the symptoms of May, maybe when should they get checked? Or what are the symptoms that manifest that should, you know, prompt them to get checked? Mm-Hmm.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:the usual reason is, Hey, I'm not getting pregnant after six months to a year of trying. Some people wait longer or something to go earlier, but if you're having regular relations with your partner and it's more than six months, you should start beginning to think maybe I should get evaluation to figure out what's going on. Why I'm not conceiving. And then some people, they have very irregular, infrequent menstrual periods or they have a lot of pelvic pain. Some people have so much pelvic vaginal pain or, or erectile dysfunction. They can't even have relations. So they're not even able to try. And so right away is a good time to, to seek help in, in that, in a fertility doctor and OBGYN doctor might even be talked to your primary care doctor, but, but nowadays it's, you can talk to a fertility doctor that day. If not within a week or two,
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Mm. And you talk about. Irregularity of menstruation. That's something that is very, very common with a lot of women that has weight issues. Mm hmm.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:well, very common in women who are overweight or underweight,
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Mm
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:but, but for women who are overweight, the weight is not the cause. It's the, it's the inflammatory and toxic food they're eating that causes the damage, but they blame the fat. It's not the fat. Now, if you're too skinny, It's because you're not, you don't have enough fat on your body because fat is the building block for a baby and the healing of your body. And it's the fuel for your body always. So essentially the, the too skinny just needs to gain some weight. The too fat doesn't need to lose weight. They need to change their diet or their lifestyle habits. And I recommend things like eating less frequently, spreading out those meals, even as far as 23 hours and adding more fat to reduce the inflammation. That'll help
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:hmm. Okay diet and lifestyle. We talked about that, how it can reduce inflammation. I want to talk to you about traditional medical treatments, though, for infertility. Often, you know, it focuses on diagnostics procedures, right? What are some, what are some of the standard approaches you've observed? And what are their limitations? Mm. Mm
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, every, every diagnostic test has an error rate of being a hundred percent right, or a hundred percent wrong or something in between. So, so, quite often we're looking, you know, it's in the history first. I always ask people, are you having regular menstrual cycles every 28 days? Do you have any other associated medical problem? Are you able to have relationships? And then it goes to, hey, let's check the sperm to make sure your partner has sperm. Or, Let's let's do an ultrasound to take a look at your uterus, a vaginal or abdominal ultrasound. Let's do a hysterosalpingogram, which is a test to place contrast in the uterine cavity to see if the fallopian tubes are open. And so those are some really simple tests that could be done. with either your OBGYN doctor or a fertility doctor to check a sperm count. Nowadays, you can even do a sperm count at home. If you check out CNY Fertility's website we have some advice on how you can do that. And also you can even collect a sample at home and ship it to us. And we'll be glad to do a sample and look under the microscope. But The interesting enough, if you do a hysterosalpingogram, the dye test to see if the fallopian tubes are open, just flushing out the tubes can help you get pregnant within the next three to six months. And we think it reduces inflammation in the pelvis or just kind of flushes out the tubes a little bit of a rotor rooter. There. But those are some simple things. And then there's some blood tests that look at your ovarian reserve. An a MH a, a low a MH, less than one may mean diminished ovarian function or lower egg quality or quantity. If it's higher than three to five, then it may mean you have polycystic ovarian syndrome. Metabolic syndrome or a diabetic or pre diabetic condition, which are very, very common. And then, and then we look at some other hormone levels, estrogen, progesterone, LH, and FSH both in the male and the female. We look at liver function. We look at metabolic parameters like a hemoglobin A1C, a fasting insulin, a fasting glucose. We may look at some inflammatory markers like a C reactive protein or a erythrocyte sedimentation rate or a white blood count or a platelet count. These are some simple parameters to kind of give you some definition to inflammation, but I always say if you're not getting pregnant naturally, And, and it's likely inflammation.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Mm hmm. At what point that a patient can conceive, right? Because we all know this, that your doctor, you know, do not advise for you to get pregnant if you're, you know, pre diabetic or you got to lose more, you got to lose more weight because you'll be in, essentially, you know, will be in critical condition. I don't know if that makes sense, but how, how, how does that how does that work and how, how do, how do they get healthy? How do they get there?
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, well, first of all, the proper human diet as a good friend, Ken Berry has a coined, which is in my opinion, it's, it's animal based. Fatty meat was better eating less frequently. And, and, and, and eating organ meats, I think are really good. And that's the kind of number one eat less frequently and eliminate Any, any drinks with calories and it, I stay away from energy drinks, coffee, tea, whiskey, wine, or beer are not good. So lifestyle change, I think is one of the, the most important things that, that we can encourage people to do. And, and excessive exercise may be one or, or, or too sedentary, you know, laying around doing nothing and just eating and eating and eating. But I do believe that. Weight is not the cause of disease. It's the diet you're eating. When people do the work to lose weight, they're essentially going on a lower caloric intake diet or they're excessively exercising. But I would say the, the lower caloric diet, Reduces the inflammation in the body, which allows women to conceive at pretty much any way morbid obesity that you, you can't get a raw around normally. You know, if you can't get up and go hunting and gathering, you got the, you're, you're over overweight. And, and you got it, you got it skinning down, but, but it's, the problem is we're focusing on on diet for weight loss rather than on a dietary change for healing and helping. The amazing part to carnivore and keto war is that your brain feels better. You're more motivated in life. You don't, you feel vibrant again, and you're able to do the things that you are depressed about. And so it's a mindset, which as I think the foundation of lifestyle changes will, which will then allow your, your, your, your entire body to heal and then pregnancy happens naturally. That's really the game here.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:You know, I, you're probably one of one because. A lot of the doctors, fertility doctors would look at their patients and say, Hey, you're, you got to lose weight, but the patient doesn't know how to, right. They may go on a very strict diet fail to lose weight and, you know, give up completely. Right. They don't know that it was, it's so vague of an advice that the patient would go starve themselves just to lose weight. But we all know that's not the solution to the problem of fertility.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:what, what, when we use the word starvation, starving to lose weight, you can go on a month, two or three fast and you're not starving. That's, that's not starvation is when you have little to no fat on your body and you're not eating.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Yeah.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:But if you're carrying extra fat on your body, the fat is actually the fuel and the building block of your body and your baby. If you look at bears, if they don't get fat enough, they may fertilize an egg, but it won't implant. Then they have to hibernate for six or eight months before they, and they deliver their baby in hibernation, by the way. And, and essentially they're not eating. And so their fat is our fuel fat is our building block. The reason we get fat is because in times of, of stress or food abundance, the universe says, get fat, get fat, get reproductive and then fasting. But historically finding few food was very difficult. I mean, we've created, I mean, we are so good at hunting. We decimated most of the hunting grounds. And fishing grounds and we're so good at agriculture. We've provided more food for more people that we have trillions of people in this world. And we're trying to figure out how to lose weight. Well, the majority of our, of our, of our evolution was not having enough food. And not being able to get enough calories in. So, you know, our, our patients don't know how to do it because our doctors don't know how to do it. I mean, most doctors are probably not that healthy anyway.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Yeah.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:What's our, what's our, what's our method of losing weight. Go on a caloric restriction diet, eat salad, right. And run a laps around, around the the campus, but ultimately evidence has shown the more exercise we do, the more weight we gain. Because it's all connected to the improper human diet. We are not grazing animals. We came out of the trees, not to eat the grass, but eat the grass. Eaters. So we are being taught today that meat is bad for you and you should eat plants. So that's, that's basically brainwashed into us before we're born. I mean, the marketing of the world is, you know, fruits, fiber, vegetables, seeds, and nuts grass and grains, fruits and, and pasta and pizza and bread, which ultimately we all love. I mean, I grew up with that stuff. I love that stuff. But why are we getting sicker again? I had as a child, I had migraines, dyslexia, ADHD, OCD. I was incorrigible. I was in a gang kicked out of school. And so why was that? Could it have been the highly processed plant based food I was consuming? Now, I lived on a place in Southern California. We had fruit trees. We had great food. We had lots of pasta and salad and vegetables. Did I eat cookie cake and ice cream? Sure I did, but that wasn't until later, but I suffered at earlier ages. My parents cooked food at home every day and it was always freshly cooked. Why was I sick? And that's what I asked myself as a physician, because my job as an MD, as a scientist is to dig deep into why, because I'm not going to treat you willy nilly, here's a drug, a surgery, a dissection. I know how to do those things. But what if I can get down to the heart of the matter, what's hurting you and how we can remove the poison, allow your body to heal, and then you can see naturally or whatever other disease you're suffering from. It too can heal naturally,
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:You know, what's fascinating to me is how you were able to, you know, share this with people, not keep it to yourself. Obviously you know, doing wonders now, but certainly when you started, how were you able to adapt this very unconventional kind of treatment to your practice?
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:hard,
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Hmm.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:hard. And, and I, I, I didn't know the right way, but you know, you keep on pushing forward at it and the beauty of COVID, it brought a lot of people online together, and then I was meeting all these other carnivores and keto wars and fast of wars and faith of wars. And and health of wars and realize, Oh, my God, they're like so many more people out there. Now we connect together. But I, I, I do. I got, I write books about it. I blog about it. I share about it. But I question science. I question medicine. My 1st question is, how Is that really true? Is it true that fruits and vegetables are good for you? And how do I do it? I guess I just, I, I keep at it, keep at it. Some people say, I don't want to hear that Dr. Kiltz. And, and, you know, and then, then sometimes they come up to me, Dr. Kiltz, what should I eat?
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Hmm.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:And, and so, you know, just, I w I get, I'm a, I'm an MD doctor. I was blessed and lucky to manage to get into medical school and become a doctor. My, my best friend from medical school, Dave died of cancer at 52. My sister Maria died at 52 of diabetes complications. I've seen so many people suffer and die. And my job as a doctor is not to just look, toe the line and go to whatever they say, whoever they are. I'm not blaming anyone, by the way, there's no blame game here. That's we in medicine as doctors and scientists, all of us. Step back and question, gee, I wonder why they got cancer or heart disease, or, or, or suicidality or depression or criminality or, or, or infertility. And, and again, eating art, this way of living doesn't mean something's not going to happen. By the way, it has, this is just, this is just what I've seen improving our odds, but it doesn't guarantee that, that you're not going to get sick and die at some age that you and I, you know, we have no idea. Or you're not going to suffer from infertility. You may be a carnivore and you may have these same problems, but all I can tell so far is it really, really helps. Carnivore to me is up here. Ketovor is here. Everything else is just, again, not as good in my opinion.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:I thought that was skepticism. Like, how were you, I mean, the, the resistance that probably you get from the medical community is probably a lot to manage for, for anybody, you know, regarding, you know, dietary intervention, right. We've seen like people lose their jobs for it.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Oh, well, well, I mean, look at what's happened over the last number of years over infectious disease things. And, and and, and certainly I have been, I have been counseled to not talk about this at the hospital I work at. And, and I'm like I, and I just said, okay. And I went ahead and talked about it to those that were open minded because, because I asked the question, well, what's the cause of disease to medical students and residents and many other people? And the answer is usually, well, I don't know. Although most of them have been coached now on the answer, which is inflammation and what causes inflammation. But you know, we're all going to die and wouldn't it be better to know you're going to die having done something to help others. And I'm, I'm a believer in Jesus. I'm a believer in, in faith, in religion, in God. I, I focus on Jesus Christ Christianity, but I've read the Quran, the new, the old Testament, the Bhagavad Gita. I listened and learned from ancient philosophers from ancient tribal peoples. And I'm always, you know, we're always looking to learn in life and we might as well do that before we die. Is this going to happen in the money, in the bank and the stuff you have is not, doesn't
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Yeah, man. I love that, man. You you don't have to be on podcasts. You've done so much already. You're already helping, you know, your local community and now you're, you're still spreading the word to this day, man, after, you know, 30 plus years of practice. You're still going, man, you're showing us you're what, what are you now? Like, you know, you, you still look very young for your age and with such energy that you show us, and man, you're, you're such a. impactful person, you know, in the community, not just the carnivore community, not just the health community, but, you know, just people just for people who wants to get healthy in general, right. You, a lot of people look up to you and, and for, for definitely great, great reasons, right. I want to talk to you about such, You know, complete, compelling success stories here. You, you've seen where, you know, diet significantly impact outcomes. Like, let's talk about some, you know, good vibes here. Good success stories. Like what, what can you up top of your head? Tell us a
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, well, well, I mean, there, there are, you say there's so many, it's really hard to do, but I got a call from a gal. And she, she's from San Francisco and she said, Dr. Kilts, you don't know me, but a friend of mine just got pregnant at 45 on your diet and she never came to you and, and can you help me learn about the nutritional things that I need to lifestyle changes that will help me on that journey also. And, and so we know it's out there and I've seen more and more. Everyone's got my cell phone. My, my, my cell phone number is out on the internet. Everyone text me, call me, share your stories. And, and that's the most important thing that inspires me. Your story on the way out of the office today. I ran to a gal. She hasn't conceived yet. She's 31 and, and it's, it's like, okay, you got my number. Great. Let's talk. Let's figure out what are the things that we can do. Cool. To encourage you and one of the most important things so I kind of got started in the blogging world 20 plus years ago. I did a, a, a daily blog for over a year. I, I did a daily intention. I kind of did a little video, a poem, and, and it was about mindfulness. And it was about vision boarding. It was about seeing the things that you wish as if they are giving them up to that higher power and letting the universe bring it all together. And so that's kind of one of the most important things that I think it's, how do you get the mindset changed so you can have faith in order to keep at this journey? But, but for sure. And, and in, so in my books on keto carnivore and our fertility books, the stories are the most important part. My friend Carrie man, Homestead, how putting together a healing humanity movie. And, and it's, we talk about, it's the stories, your story in this. And, and, and the more we tell the story, then we're listening and learning to other stories. So this is really just Storytelling, especially with polycystic ovarian syndrome, where irregular cycles, irregular cycles, nothing's happening, nothing's happening. You do keto or carnivore. And I always kind of put them together because many people kind of started the keto, they might get success, but They're the few, the, the rare lions out there that get to carnivore, but more and more are showing up by the way. And suddenly, Hey, I'm having regular periods and I got pregnant. And I've heard the same thing on the guy's side, by the way, because the sperm may look normal and the woman looks normal. Everything looks normal, but who gets blamed the woman. But, but I've seen where the man has little to no sperm, bad morphology, motility. And goes carnivore and suddenly she's pregnant. He's got better sperm. And again, we know that sugar is the leading cause of all disease. And sugars, we're talking about plant sugars come from plants and again, all plants are made of carbon dioxide in the air that you and I can't see. They make this long chain carbon particle Starch or carbohydrate or, or cellulose or fiber. And these things are very hard by the way. Okay. And then you try to digest them and, and, and the microbes in your gut, love them. By the way, the microbes are eating the, they're eating the fiber and the vegetables and the, and the fruit. They're making alcohol. So our Children that are eating plants are making alcohol in their gut, and we're wondering why they have autism, ADHD, OCD, depression, dyslexia, just to name a few things, and I've certainly seen all of those diseases clear up on a keto carnivore diet.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:you know, What can we do? I mean, what, what, what do you see? Like, how, how can we change the landscape? You know, do you see any trends that you foresee in the field of fertility medicine, like in particular?
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Well, obviously this is my, this is my day job. It's my passion. I don't work. I go to my studio where I help people that are suffering from infertility. I go to my pottery studio and painting studio. I fly airplanes. That's kind of my other little passion in life, but the most important thing is going to be, I love going to work. Well, and today it's so much telehealth, it's video health but helping people. So I think the more and more we, your blog, I mean, social media is a game changer in the world. I think that's going to bring freedom to more and more people in the world. It's going to be access to more and more knowledge and information that, that you, most people, most humanity did not have access to. The doctors and the professors and the politicians, the elite, remember it was a small class essentially, because they're the ones that went to the were accepted into the universities and then the postgraduate work. But today. Anyone can gain this knowledge on these devices. There's more information on these devices than I had access when I was in medical school and at the university. Okay. So be whatever language you want. You could convert that language into your language quickly with, with the AI. Um, and the knowledge is there. So this is really the game changer. And the more people, the more we just put it out there. I'm not looking for monetization of what I do here. I'm looking for mommization, meaning more mommies, more men. More masters. That's my my, my, my pay is the more people that succeed in life and find their, their passion enjoy for life, but it's this, these platforms Google, whatever you're doing to find it, whatever those words are, and then, you know, the, the words are always changing, so we can't get too caught up in them, but. The, you've gotta reprogram your mind. This is, I watch a, I, I do watch a lot of YouTube'cause I fly airplanes, so I'm always listing and I do pottery and I'm always watching and listing. I used to do a lot of woodwork. I love to watch people do wa woodwork, but I also love archeology. I love, I love the nature shows because I then wanna learn about. animals, organisms, because ultimately there's no hierarchy to any organisms in the universe. It's all one. It's all, it's all God's work. And so, I mean, we're smarter than a, than, than a plant, right? We get on a rocket ship and go to outer space and go to Mars. But does that make any sense? Not to me.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Man, you're certainly doing God's work for sure. For, for some, for the people that's inspired by your approach, man. How, where can people find you? Where, where can people find your work? I know you have your, your blog, you have your, your clinic where can people find more, more of your stuff
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:just Google Kilts, K I L T Z, Dr. Kilts. I'm a, I am a reproductive endocrinologist, an OB GYN, fertility specialist, but I'm a Motivator, entrepreneur, podcaster, a potter, a painter but I'm just another human being because these labels are nothing but yeah, you can just look on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Tick Tock, all those crazy things, which again, it's just it. For me, it's connecting more with other people because. I love connecting with people and listening and learning from them. And, and I'm really grateful for being able to share these ideas and words. It's, you know, it's one of the, this is an idea that you have to listen several times, if not more to try to get it. And so these platforms are critical. I go, we're going to be in we were in Austin, Texas last month. Uh, or the being this month again, remember they're all coming together early this month. I'm going to be in Orlando, August 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for the Orlando keto Orlando summit. And again, keto paleo fasting ketones are just, are just interesting words. That get us to open up and learn more about these ideas because that's what we, we, we need to do. And I'm on at 5 AM, Monday through Friday Eastern time for the mighty morning meetup, which is about global inspiration. I read, I read positive quotes. I say hi to people. They said to me. We ask questions, answer questions and, and, and many people meet new friends from around the globe. I mean, you know, I'm happy to, I went to Spain last week, two weeks ago. I'm actually going to France next week. I haven't done this twice in a year, like ever. And I'm really excited to do it because we need to meet other cultures. And that's what you're doing here is is introducing all of us to different cultures, religions, all different views of life. And by simply, you know, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook. I don't think they need to take them away from our, our, our students. I need, I think they need all, we all need to learn how to do them better and share better. And maybe we need to open up the classrooms that you're, Hey you can go to any classroom in the world and learn from what they're teaching people because we need to open access to knowledge and information through what you're doing.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Yes. Yes. And everything
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:That was a long answer.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:and, and everybody now has their own devices, right. And they're, they're on why, why can't we use a device to. You know, spread the word, spread knowledge, spread knowledge about health. Right. Why can't we adapt to that technology and use that for the better? Now, I know kids nowadays, they learn different now, right? Athletes nowadays, they learn the sport different. Now they get better different now, as opposed to 10 years ago, right? Absolutely. What you're doing with your podcast, with, you know, being online, being on podcast, I can't imagine how you juggle But you know, I appreciate you have that energy of somebody who, you know, just want to help that one person, right. Even though it's one person.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:88. Well, it's always a one person. You're right. That that's, see, this is for one person at a time. The word is the way in the beginning was the word language listening. I'm a one that learns by doing kinesthetic, right? And I, that's, I learned to fly that way. And by, by By watching other people do it, then we begin, our brain is already doing the work inside. It's already moving the muscles, even though the muscles aren't moving, right? And this is where vision boarding comes in. But this is, I think, the most important thing. And if you don't believe in carnivore or ketovore, just listen and be open to the possibilities. I listen to vegan, vegetarians, Mediterranean. I listen to all views. I've done them all. I'm not against anyone doing anything. I now, again, we are identical by the way, in our physiology our, our, our metabolism is the same. Now you might have some unique genetic predisposing predisposing parameters that cause you to be more. Affected in one area than another, but ultimately 99 percent it's, it's the same. And so that's why I think it's, we're, we're sharing a concept and idea that I think is game changing for all of humanity because we are carnivore like you can eat plants, but Anthony Chafee said, well, you can eat dirt too. But should you write, you can get minerals and vitamins from dirt, and actually you can get some, you can also get some, some molds and bacteria that has some nutritional value, but overall we're, we're hunting animals and we're meant to eat the meat, raw fatty, and the organ meats also
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:If the naysayers just know how good they feel once they try it, or, you know, it's, you talked about being a game changer. It's a life changing experience for me. I, six years ago, I was, you know, in such a deep depression, major depression. And I went keto to lose weight, but then realized that my energy, my symptoms of depression went away and went carnivore, got a lot better. I didn't know. I could get, I could feel better from keto to carnivore, which I did. And it's, it's life changing. It's, you know, imagine a life without depression, right? Imagine a life. I couldn't imagine life without it before. And now, you know, I, I was able to do a lot of things with, with myself and, you know, the possibilities that it's endless, right? It just gives you a lot of energy, clarity of mind, more, you're more productive. Yeah. No inflammation in the body. I mean, there's a lot of things. And you know, I've interviewed so many people on this show about, you know, different types of conditions, right? And these people, the reason why they become so successful is they are so fed up with, What was going on and the pain was so great that something had to change, right? And lifestyle
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:huge. Well, and the. As again, I would go to the doctor with bowel bleeding, arthritis, psoriasis, K fever, couldn't breathe. I was on all these drugs. I get these dissections and I had kidney stones for years. Did a doctor ever say anything about goitrogenic or, or oxalate causing foods? Never. They don't know this. And when I look at, and then, then I did this one month. And I didn't need any more of the drugs. I felt better. And, and it's like, okay, I'm 68, almost 69. I always tell people I'm near 70. I feel I'm about 15, 16
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:Heh heh. Mmm.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:is like radical. I mean, I do a hundred pushups a day. I do mostly walking now. I do some weights. I don't overdo it. I'm not trying to be a Mr. Olympian. I just like to like to feel good every day. And that's, that's like getting up early. So getting up early every day, the early bird catches the worm, meditation and prayer early in the morning. I do my, I do my little bit of exercise, my, my a hundred pushups. I do some cold water work. I do some reading, getting ready for my live at five. And, and I don't typically eat a meal until the evening. I do a two to three day fast once a month, a five to seven day fast, January, July. We have our. Five day fast coming up July 8th kilts mighty tribe. I didn't mention that as another place to find kiltsy KMT kilts, mighty tribe, which is we do video meetups, but there's a great group of people again, Well, it doesn't matter. You're vegan, vegetarian, Mediterranean, pescarian, or carnivorean, but we're there. We're learning from those that have been doing this because, you know, you may, you may, you may sync with me. You may not sync with me, you know, that guy, Kelsey, you know, let me go to Amy or, or, or Patty or, or, or you know, one of our people in our group and there's so many other groups out there today. And, and it's amazing. And some of them, you know, you're, you're, you're putting a monthly amount. I'm I do, I'm a member of SBG and, and Chafee's group I love, and there's so many groups out there that, and again, you don't have to go anywhere. Again, for those people who are stuck at home, the beginning starts with this. Listening to like, Oh, this sounds a little crazy. Wait a minute. I used to, I used to, Oh, I had, I, I herniated my disc and my back and I terrible back pain for years, carnivore healed, no surgery, nothing, no more drugs, no more injections, nothing. And, and so, I think that this community online, it doesn't, I mean, whatever you want, community wise, the beauty is it's there and. You know, but get out, get out also into nature, really get out to nature. I go bike riding and, and, and walking and. And I, I fly airplanes. As I mentioned earlier, I learned to fly at 55. I'm like, I was just like one day I was in a plane with a friend and, and it was like, well, I don't want to be in the backseat. I want to be in the front seat. And so I started learning and I started learning online and then, you I bought a plane and now I fly a jet and the more and more I learned, the more I do, the more I grow. And that's what life is about. Lifelong learning is a really important part to this story because, because it's not like, oh, I can't wait to get out of school. It's kind of, I can't wait to continue. Learning every single day. And where's school? It's right here. What are you, what are you reading? I buy books. I buy audibles. I'm always asking people, what's your favorite book? Because these are so important parts that, okay. Keto carnivore is great, but what else are you doing with your life? Right. What do you, and you may be doing all keto carnivore books and speaking and cooking and all sorts of things, which my good friend Maria Emmerich and Craig Emmerich, Maria taught me keto way back when. And, and Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I, I, I, I, I I learned again 20 years ago on paleo, and then, and then I found Maria and Keto and then, and then I, I go carnivore 15, almost years ago. And like, I've never, never felt better in my life, but I didn't really talk about it until c. Cause I was just like, well, I don't want anyone to think I'm crazy, man. Now there are many crazy people out there. Now I have a much better, better bigger group to be part of a crazy group.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:heh heh. Man, you're an inspiration, man. I I commend you, man. I mean, if what did you say? What did you say? You're 68?
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:68 I'll be 69 in March. I, again, I've never felt better in my
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:If I look like you at six to eight, I probably already, I won. I won in life. Yeah.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:Love you, my friend, Lorenz. Thank you. Thank you on your kind words. And I've really enjoyed this conversation and, and what you're doing again, to share this is is critical and there, you know, whether it's keto now I'm off coffee now for two months, I'm not against coffee. I love coffee. I was off it all last year. Then I started back on it and I just. I just said, you know what, between no coffee no and, and no alcohol. And, and and I'm gonna say no carbs, but I do occasionally eat a cookie cake or ice cream and my french fries, but that's rare enough. And, and, but oh, the fa the fasting, you know, do something hard. It builds spiritual strength. And, and that's what this is all about. It's like, you know, I can't do that. I don't want to do that. Well, you can do it. And we're inspired by other people doing it. Amy Perrin in our group is going to do the lion's diet, which is fatty meat, salt water, and, and she wants to, she wants to heal up a little bit. She's going to be 70 on, I think, Sunday or Monday coming up. She's part of our group. She's a type one diabetic, really reduced her insulin. And you know, it's like, I have to put a disclaimer. I'm, I'm a doctor, but I'm giving you, I'm just talking. This is entertainment. I'm not giving you medical advice, but because what I'm now is you're responsible for your medical advice. Nobody else, right? But in medicine, I'm liable for your medical advice and I'm liable. If I mentioned the same thing, they told me to do that. I did. I'm like, okay, but ultimately. I mean, I make mistakes. I make mistakes in medicine, in surgery and in science and relationship. But because we're all human beings and, and faults and failures are part of the journey. And that's the part that I think is the most important. And again, faith is first.
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:man, I love that brother. I appreciate you coming on, sharing your story with us today, man. Yeah, such an inspiration, man. Just your holistic approach with health, with, you know, spirituality and just your energy coming on here today is just such an incredible you know, It just spreads across the world, man, with what you're doing. It's just an amazing, amazing opportunity for me to be able to share your, your message here with, with the listeners today. And so I am so in awe of you. So thank you so much for, for your mission. Your, your, please continue on your journey. You're inspiring a lot of people out here. You inspired me and your, your energy, man. I mean, I, I, I can't. When you said you're 68, I could not believe you're 68, brother. That's amazing. Amazing work, man. That's, that's a kudos to your craft and kudos to how you were able to build such a healthy body, such a healthy mind, sir. So, congratulations to you, man. You already won. You already won in life, sir. Thank you.
dr-rob-kiltz_1_06-25-2024_160015:God bless you. Thank you. Thank you. Really appreciate your time here and your best to all of those listening. God
lorenz_2_06-25-2024_160015:All right, sir. Thank you so much. Bye bye.
