This is the preposterous situation that young, dull, moss-loving idiot Gunston finds himself in throughout The Haunted Underpants, a rip-roaring comedy adventure featuring wizards, Granddads, enemies, ferocious mothers, shetland ponies and, of course, underpants. Gunston, a rather dull and very uninteresting boy, had obtained a pair of talking underpants, was then forced to go swimming and now his talking underpants had vanished, probably by Vreeland, his arch-enemy. But his replacement underpants had started talking too!
