Jesus is baptized by John, the Holy Spirit descends upon Him, and a voice from heaven says, “You are my beloved Son.” The genealogy from Jesus to Adam.

John preaches a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. He speaks of One who is coming who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. Herod arrests John.
1193 Luke 2:39-52 Jesus Grows Strong in Spirit and Wisdom
Joseph and Mary return to Nazareth. When Jesus is twelve years old, He goes to the temple and questions the teachers. He grows strong in spirit and wisdom.
1192 Luke 2:21-38 The Dedication of Jesus
Jesus is dedicated at the temple. Simeon prophesies over Him and tells Mary that He is destined for the fall and rise of many. Anna tells everyone about Him.
1191 Luke 2:1-20 Jesus Is Born
Jesus is born in Bethlehem and placed in a manger. Angels announce His birth toshepherds. They visit Jesus and broadcast what they heard and saw.

John is born. At his circumcision, Zacharias names him, and his mouth is opened to prophesy about John. John grows and becomes strong in spirit.

Gabriel visits Mary and tells her that she will give birth to the Son of the Highest. Mary visits Elizabeth who says that she is blessed. Mary magnifies the Lord.

Luke gives his purpose and method of writing his Gospel. The angel Gabriel appears to Zacharias while he is in the temple and announces John’s birth.
1187. Mark 16:9-20 – The Great Commission
Jesus makes many resurrection appearances. He gives His disciples the GreatCommission and promises signs that will follow. Then He ascends to heaven.
1186. Mark 15:42-16:8 – Burial and Resurrection
Joseph of Arimathea buries Jesus in his tomb. Women go to the tomb Sunday morning. An angel tells them Jesus is risen! They leave, afraid and amazed.
1185. Mark 15:21-41 – Jesus Is Crucified
While rejected as “King of the Jews,” Jesus demonstrates that He is the Son of God by dying on the cross to fulfill Scripture and open the way to God.
1184. Mark 15:1-20 – Jesus Is Tried by Gentiles
Pilate tries Jesus and attempts to release Him, but the crowd asks for Barabbas. Pilate delivers Jesus to be scourged and crucified. Roman soldiers mock Him.
1183. Mark 14:53-72 – Trial and Denials
Jesus stands trial before the Sanhedrin in a mock trial. He confesses to be the Christ, the Son of God, and they condemn Him to die and beat Him. Peter denies knowing Him three times.
1182. Mark 14:32-52 – Events in Gethsemane
Jesus prays in Gethsemane while His disciples sleep. Jesus tells them to watch and pray so they don't enter temptation. Judas arrives with the mob and betrays Jesus with a kiss. Jesus is arrested and the disciples flee.
