Why Most New Coaches Can't Get Clients (And What Actually Works)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If getting clients feels like pushing a boulder uphill, you might be solving the wrong problem. We dig into the quiet reason most new coaches stall: not weak content or missing scripts, but identity and adaptive challenges that leak doubt into every conversation. From the first hello to a paid engagement, people feel your state. When your offer sits on shaky beliefs—Who am I to charge? What if I can’t help?—no tactic saves the call. When your presence is grounded—clear on value, calm under pressure, service-forward—simple steps suddenly work.
We pull apart technical vs adaptive problems with real-world examples, including the “lost 100 pounds” story that reframes how lasting change actually happens. You’ll hear why tactics matter only after you align who you’re being, and how to speak to what clients think they need while holding space for what they truly need. Then we give you the cleanest, most reliable client-getting system around: meet new people, tell them you’re a coach, ask if they want help. It’s simple for a reason. The friction you feel is usually an adaptive block—old outreach baggage, fear of rejection, or uncertainty about your skill—disguised as a strategy issue.
We also share how to build mastery fast: stack meaningful reps, get tight feedback, and reflect to upgrade beliefs so the next rep lands stronger. Whether you prefer in-person conversations, thoughtful DMs, or podcasting, the channel matters less than the presence you bring. When you understand the brain, can spot adaptive vs technical challenges quickly, and trust your process, prospects lean in. They’re not buying a script. They’re buying your certainty that their change is possible.
If you’re ready to stop chasing algorithms and start having human conversations that convert, press play. Then try the three steps today with one person you can genuinely help. Why New Coaches Can’t Find Clients
SPEAKER_02What is going on, my people? And welcome back to another powerful topic today. We're talking about why most new coaches can't or they struggle with getting clients and what is actually working right now. Super pumped up to be here. Usually I'm in the same room as Teresa. We're downstairs, but uh we decided today to separate a little bit. So um we have a really powerful topic today uh because a lot of people reach out to us in the coaching space. They know that we have um we've been certifying and teaching people how to coach for a while. We have our high impact mastery academy, and a lot of people like um are in the space of coaching and they're like, how do I find clients? How do I get them to take the next step? How do I get them to like make because I want to make an impact in their life? Um, but it feels like it's impossible to do that. And so today we're actually going to talk to you about the solution to what it is or where exactly you are right now. So, Cynthia, good morning, my friend. Cynthia is one of our master coaches. What's up? Baron is here. Oh, it's only like we have a bunch of master coaches here. Laura, what's going on, friend? What's going on? Good morning, good morning. And Teresa, hi. I haven't let you talk yet. I guess I just talked too much. How are you?
SPEAKER_00I'm great.
Technical Vs Adaptive Problems Defined
Who You Become Matters More
Reading The Client’s Real Problem
Confidence, Energy, And Sales Calls
SPEAKER_02Awesome. I almost called you friend. Hi, friends. Well, you are my friend. You are you are my best friend, actually. My best friend. All right. So um, today we really want to talk about this, guys. Um, because this is the thing that we have seen a lot of coaches and like they they learn the skill of coaching or they're in the process of learning the skill of coaching. But if you're uh if you miss the component that we're that we're gonna find out today that we're gonna share with you, um it could feel like it's just like you're spinning around in circles. You don't have anybody to talk to. You're not able to um to find clients as a coach. And um, and to be honest with you, it's because you're trying to solve the wrong problem. But we're gonna get into that, okay? We're gonna get into that. Now, today we want you to lean in to um some of the different ways that we want you to think about not only coaching, but finding clients and making a true impact in their life. So today is gonna be a little bit, um, there's gonna be moments probably where I just do something dorky and you laugh. But there's gonna be some serious moments where I say something that might feel like um a little bit tough. And the reason why is because a lot of what we're talking about today has less to do about what you do as a coach, but more to do as who you are when you do it. All right, now we're gonna get out of theory land and we're gonna get into actually how this works, but it's really important to identify one thing today. And that is get to the root of the actual problem that you have. Um, I got a question for you guys, first off, before we actually dive into this, is I know a lot of you guys are coaches in different different industries. You help people in different ways, right? Some of you may be um leaders in different organizations. I want you to think about this. Like, first off, let me let me just get an idea. Like when you think about um this for this, for the six of you guys who are here live, um, what industry do you help people out as when it comes to a coach as a coach? So whether it's what problem do you help them solve, um, usually it's health, wealth, or relationships, mixture of those. Like when you think about um where people are and what they need help with, what is it that you help people with when it comes to um being their coach? So type it in the chat for me because I really want you guys to hit on, I'm gonna hit on something real quick to get you to see um something you maybe didn't know about yourself. Okay, so we got health, got a lot of people probably in health. Um anybody else? Anyone else outside of health uh in terms of that's where you coach. And here's the real reason why. Um when you think about, um, Cynthia says processing pain. Okay. When you think about the people that you help, what do they think they need? What do they think is their problem? So think about it from their perspective. Um, Laura says helping women work through the anger of divorce. Awesome. Um, family issues, awesome. Um, all things that people need help with, right? So when people come to you, what do they think their problem is? And number two is like, what is their actual problem that you have seen by guiding them, by understanding where it is that they are, by being able to help walk them through it? What's what do you actually see as their problem? Now, the reason why I'm asking you these questions is because a lot of times when we see this from the perspective of a coach and we're helping someone, we know the language that they use in terms of like what they think the problem is. But then we know what we what their actual problem is. And because we're a coach and we understand what that is, we will typically lead with the the first thing, right? Talking to them in the respects of what their problem is and the pain that they're going through right now. But once they actually get into our ecosystem, once they start to learn what their actual problem is, then they have an opportunity to change their life. So um, needing new perspectives, hearing themselves talk through the problem. Yes, overwhelm. Okay. So here's the thing. When you are trying to help clients, I'm gonna take it back to the health and fitness, all right? So um, this is something I shared on the Dad Edge podcast. And for some reason, everybody keeps like um calling me uh uh or or saying that it made a huge impact for them. And I want to share it with you right here. And that is like when when I lost a hundred pounds, okay? I lost a hundred pounds, I've now kept it off for like 16 years. People always ask me what I did to lose a hundred pounds. They never ask me who I had to become. So I want you to sit with that for a second. Because when people were thinking about losing weight, they're thinking about meal plans, about which workout they should do, which calendar should they follow, which book should they read to keep them motivated. All of those things are important, but it's not important if it's not your real problem. All of you guys could Google search, just like I could, nutrition plans. We could all use AI to decide which workout programs to do. But that, my friends, is a technical solution. If we don't have a technical problem, any number of those things are not going to work. And so the reason why I want to bring this up is because when you think about this whole idea of wanting to find clients, it's very similar to how you help clients because initially they think they have this problem, but you get them to see that they have an actual different problem in and of themselves. And this is really the power of what coaching can get us to do in the respect for uh um like the difference between a what we call a technical challenge, which is like the steps, what to say, the scripting, and then there's the adaptive challenge. This adaptive challenge has a lot to do with the identity of who we are and doing things not because we have to do them, because it's just a part of our operating system, all right. And and being able to think differently, like you guys have said, needing new perspectives. Those are adaptive challenges. And so when we think about, and I'm gonna give you the the um the technical like uh ideas around wanting to grow your business, coach people, make more impact, make more money, right? I'll give you some of the technical answers to this, but if you're trying to solve a technical um uh, or you're trying to solve an adaptive problem with a technical solution, you're gonna run into spinning, encircling, and circling. So I want you to think about this. How many of you guys have um invested in social media courses or invested in um, you know, how to how to reach more people, or invested in ads, or done things like this where you've been a part of a group, um, a teaching, a training, a course, and you're like, this is gonna be it. This is gonna be that thing that fully like gets me to rise to the level that I want to as a coach. And then you get to the end of that, and nothing really has changed. Well, the truth is, is like I've done that dozens of times because what I thought was I had a I had a technical problem. I just need to learn what to say. I need to learn how to market better. I need to learn how to use graphics on Instagram, I need to learn a DM strategy, I need to learn all this, and all of those things were not actual things that actually move my business forward because I wouldn't do them, or I would do them inconsistently, or I do it from a different energy of like, I just got to do this and check the box. And so what I didn't realize is that I actually had an adaptive challenge to overcome and not a technical one. That's why today we want to hit on both of these two challenges, the adaptive and the technical. But I'm gonna spend a little bit more time in the adaptive because when we think about taking action, do it consistently, reflecting, and finding a different path. It's important that we tackle the adaptive challenges, or all of the technical solutions in the world will not work for us. Now it pains me to say it, but so many of us think we have a technical problem. If you did, you could Google search it and you could just use AI and you'd be great. But I actually find a lot of people nowadays are using AI and they're getting thrown off track because AI is not necessarily a coach, can't really help you with a lot of adaptive challenges. It can help you with technical challenges, which is great. I want you to do all those things, but not if you have an actual adaptive uh problem, right? So that's what we're gonna go into today to today is like actually getting to the root of what's holding you back from finding clients. And it's not Facebook's algorithm, it's not the YouTube structure, it's not any of those things. It has a lot to do generally with the things um that you tell yourself, the perspectives that you lean into and really the adaptive problems that you have. So here's what I want to do. Um first off, I know Teresa is gonna jump in at any moment, whenever she has anything. Otherwise, I'm gonna keep talking. Um, but I really want you to um to be able to see an adaptive challenge that could potentially come up for you guys, because we coach a lot of people around this, so that you can see what it could look like in real life. All right. Now, um, when when somebody is first jumping into um coaching and they start to learn some of these philosophies and they start to like really dive into the perspectives and the way that their brain works and getting them to take action, when they're in that environment, um, uh they start to flow through taking these actions, getting results, right? Because they're actually working through these adaptive challenges. But then either when if they, if they don't really understand the whole idea around coaching or the philosophy of coaching, or afterwards they get out of this environment, they start getting back into thinking that all of their problems are technical versus adaptive, right? Now, like I was saying earlier, when you when I first started to lose weight and I first started to help people in that realm, I actually didn't know how to help people through their adaptive problems. All I did was like, hey, this is the workout I did, this is the supplement I drank, this is the group that I was a part of, this is a personal development book that I read. Like, this is gonna help you. And and very few people would actually follow it through and take the action, right? And it's the same when it comes to um coaching through the things that we're doing. All right. It's the same thing that happens in coaching. Uh, and and so what usually I will hear is somebody will come to me and they'll say, Hey, I'm struggling with finding clients. And what they want is they want to know which platform they should use, social media, um, what their messaging should be, um, what are the scripts, what's the content that they should put out there to really be able to attract people. But the truth is, is like I said, most of the time it's an adaptive situation. So when you think about this, when I think about adaptive, I want to give you some ideas of what I mean. As a coach, if I sit down and I have a conversation for with somebody, I can get to the root of what's actually holding them back. It's it's what we teach in the High Impact Mastery Academy. It's not just fixing broken arms with band-aids, it's actually finding what's actually holding them back. Sometimes, very rarely, it's actual technical thing. And I can guide them through that. I can ask them some questions and they can figure out the path for them to take, depending on where they are in their business. But a lot of times it's adaptive stuff. Stuff like this is I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to actually help them. Maybe, wait, who am I to charge for this? Or even something like, what if they bring me something that I can't handle and I can't actually help? Now, here's the thing. Like um, uh when we think about these kind of perspectives of like, who am I to help? Um, I'm not sure if I if like who am I to actually charge them money? Or um, what if they bring me something that I can't handle? This may not be at the forefront of your mind. Okay. When we're actually like taking action, when we're having conversations, when we're thinking about messaging somebody, we're thinking about like um uh we're gonna go through a three process today, which is like um talking to new people, telling them you're a coach, and inviting them to or see if they want to actually work with you. When you're going through that process and you have underlying meaning, unconsciously, you're telling yourself, well, who am I to charge for this? They're way further along than me. I don't want to be sales-y. Any of these things that are like rooted in our brain, we don't even have to consciously think, but it comes through when we're having conversations. So we don't send that message. Or if we send that message, we're kind of like uh showing up in a way uh where we're not uh confident, right? It's kind of like, oh, um, yeah, I might be able to help you with that. Like, um, yeah, I think I think I can do something like that. Versus you're having a conversation with somebody, you're like, absolutely I can help you with that. Let me show you the two ways that I could actually do that, right? So here is your problem, here's where you are, here's where you want to be, and here's that gap. Let me show you what I can do to help you through that gap because that's what my coaching does. Can you guys feel the difference in energy when you're like that? Right. It's not because I have all of this to technical knowledge, it's because I understand how the brain works and I can really help them with their adaptive challenges. So when you do that, when you show up that way, you're gonna start attracting people. You're gonna start getting people to go, that's I I need that in my life. That's not something you can do through a social media post. It's also not something you can necessarily do through like even a live video like this. Like we try to recreate it here, but in reality, like when you go out into the real world and have a conversation with somebody, they can feel whether or not they can, you can help them or not. They can feel whether or not you have some type of limiting belief preventing you from inviting them to that next step. And when you're able to step into that, there is a component of it that that is a part of it on them, right? If if like you are showing up as your best self, you could still give the best presentation ever and have that person say no. But when you really are able to attack your adaptive challenges, it has nothing to do with you anymore. But I've seen a lot of people who say they're struggling with getting clients, and then I watch some of their conversations they're having. I'll look into their DMs, I'll get onto a like one of their to watch one of their sales calls, and you can feel it. And it's because people can sense your hesitation. They can sense that you're quote unquote new with this. And when you actually are having that conversation, that is what will really not only help them see that you can actually help them, but get them to take that next step if it is the right move for them. And it's not about social media and saying the best thing. No, it's being fully confident that I'm gonna be able to help you because I understand how the brain works. And I'm also doing this myself because I understand how my brain works. And I'm not gonna allow that to me for me to not step into this room confident because I know I'm gonna be able to help you. Now, like I said before, like a lot of people are like, but what's the script? The script doesn't matter. What matters is who I am when I say the script. The certification really doesn't matter as much as who I am when I actually step in, not only to the certification, but using the framework. And when you can come through this identity level, you will start finding conversations. You'll find your, you'll be finding yourself getting into more conversations, putting yourself out there based off of your strengths. And I also don't believe that everybody should do the same thing every single way. No, that you got to find your way of doing this, tapping into your strengths. But when you do that and you're your best version of yourself, and you've been able to coach yourself through this process and you know that you're stepping in there, you can help them out with anything, you'll actually have um the opposite problem, which you're gonna have to start figuring out different ways of opening up your schedules so that you can have more clients. Now, I have to call this out. This doesn't mean that it's easy. It doesn't mean that it's easy. It means are you walking through the same thing that you're asking your clients to do, which is feeling those emotions, processing it, figuring out your adaptive challenges that are actually coming up for you, and then creating a plan to be able to get through them. That's really how you will start finding more clients. And then from there, if you start, whether it's um uh having more conversations with people, um, and I'll, like I said, I'll tell you in a minute how to tackle the technical difficulties or the technical challenges, but you'll find yourself putting yourself out there more. I mean, think about this. I know a lot of you guys have actually been certified before, right? And you've been in a room, you've been coaching, and you think about like the impact that that makes outside of that room, right? When you're in this space and you are confident because you're coaching yourself, you're you're in an environment like that, and then you go and you talk to other people, it's kind of like your energy is a little bit more contagious. It's like, I fully believe in it, but I also do this, and this is how I can help you. And when you start second guessing yourself, you don't show up that way, right? So that's why whenever I hear people talk about, like, hey, I'm struggling to find a client, I ask them three, four, five, 15 questions, and I find out there's something in here that is actually preventing them. It's something in here that's convincing them not to reach out to that person. There's that person that you're thinking of that's like, I could really help them, but I'm so nervous to reach out to them. Reach out to them, right? But it's figuring out what's going on in here that is preventing you from doing that. It and all of the technical things like won't work if you don't actually figure this out, right? Now I briefly want to go into the technical part of this process. And Teresa, I told you that I'm gonna talk too much. And you told me not to probably ask you to share.
Teresa On Perspective And Trust
SPEAKER_00Well, I was gonna interject just ahead. I didn't want to mess with your flow because you're in the flow right now. Um, but I I did want to talk a little bit about like what you were saying um regarding like people's perspective, right? What we're thinking about. And you know, if we're thinking, you know, like who am I to charge this? Or, you know, I'm not sure if I can help this person, right? When we think about that, we show up in a different way, just like you said, we're not gonna show up fully confident, and that's because we're not focusing on the right perspectives, right? Or the right perspectives for us. Um, they're perspectives that kind of bring us down and keep us in the loop. So think about the other people. Think about your potential clients. They have the same thing going on as well. And the way that you show up, they're gonna be thinking different things too. Um, you know, they're are they gonna be thinking that they have more clarity now when you talk to them or they feel certain? Do they trust you? Right. So these things are going on in their heads. Now, I'm not saying that we're gonna be able to control that, right? We can't control other people, but we can control how we show up, and it starts with our perspective. So that's what like is really important is thinking about like how how do you think about being a coach or how how do you feel about being a coach? How are you showing up? And that is how you can control the external, because we can't, we can't necessarily do that directly. We do that internally.
Mastery, Frameworks, And Reps
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yep. Um, as you were talking, I um uh so I was on a call this morning um with an incredible coach. Um, she had already been previously certified. Um, and she knows how to help people, like on a just entirely different level. And she hasn't been like coaching often. Um, so she's like, I I don't even know if I know how to coach anymore. Like, I don't necessarily feel confident when I'm doing this. And um, and I made two very distinct um uh uh comments to her, and I want to make sure that I make them here to you guys too, um, because it's very much in alignment with what Teresa was saying. Um, and that is like uh when it comes to being able to help people, when it comes to knowing that you're gonna be able to help them, um, no matter what it is that they have going on, um, it doesn't require a certification or a framework, all of these kind of things. Like it's you have that amazing power inside of you. But if you really do believe that that you need to continue with the practice, you need to elevate your confidence, then it is 100% true that you need something like that. So, like, there's a lot of people who can coach and can ask great questions and they don't have any certification and they are fully confident in what they're doing. They're like, I am good to go. I mean, Teresa was talking about this the other day. There's like somebody who posted up about um, I really do believe that all coaches should not have a framework. They should just ask enough questions to be able to surface some new things and things will just, you know, um uh work themselves out. And um, and I do believe like being able to ask questions and being able to surface things. I mean, that's what we do, right? Getting people to to see things they didn't know exist, right? Um, but also saying that that nobody should do that, like everybody should feel confident just jumping in and asking questions. Um, I've known a lot of coaches who ask a lot of questions and their clients do this the whole time because they don't have anything that they're guiding them through, right? And it doesn't mean that one coach's way is better or other, but it's like when we can step into what makes me feel confident. So for me, feeling confident is continually, every time I possibly can, elevating myself as a coach, having my own coach, being a part of coaching communities, leading coaching communities, listening to podcasts around coaching, reading books that will help me understand coaching deeper. This for me is it not only does it help me with my confidence, but it helps me to be able to teach people on a different level. And when I do that, I know, hey, when I'm in this environment, like that gets me to show up on an entirely different level, then I should keep doing it. Right. If it doesn't, then I would stop, right? But just thinking that you need all those things in order to be able to succeed is not true. But also, if you believe you do, then it's also something for you to take a look at, right? Especially if like success leaves clues. If in the past you did feel on fire, you felt like you were in control of those things, of these adaptive challenges, and you had that confidence. Like we said earlier, like if you don't have that confidence, it's very hard to sell people on their dreams when you aren't even sold on yours because you're kind of like going back and forth of like, hey, is this the right thing for me or not? Right. And so, so this is really why we wanted to like hit on this because having thousands of conversations, there's maybe been three or four where the person had a technical issue, but almost every single person thinks they have a technical issue. They think they have an algorithm issue, they think they have a messaging issue, they think they have, and in reality, when I jump on and listen to some of their conversations they're having, either they're having none, or number two, they're having a bunch, but they're actually not confident in what it is that they're doing. And it's being portrayed to the client, right? That's why working on the adaptive challenge is so important. All right. Now, what I do want to do real quick is I want to walk through the technical process for finding clients. A lot of you guys are like, finally, Mark's gonna tell us how to find clients, and I'm going to, but remember, this is not something that if you oh, well, you're gonna see how simple it is, but this is not usually the solution to it, but I'm gonna share it with you anyway, all right? Now, actually technically finding clients is simple. Only three steps.
SPEAKER_01Simple steps. Okay. I'm gonna write it in the chat. Number one is you meet new people.
SPEAKER_02You gotta meet new people. If you talk to the same people over and over again, you're not gonna be able to find new clients, right? Especially if you're meeting people who know you as a certain way and then you became a coach. Very hard to sell them into it in the beginning, especially. But there are gonna be some ways of doing that in the future. But number one is you gotta meet new people. Number two, you gotta tell them you're a coach. If they don't know you're a coach, they have no idea that you can hire, they can hire you or help you. Or you can help them. No idea.
SPEAKER_01So you gotta meet new people, you gotta tell them you're a coach. Number three, you gotta ask them if they want your help. That's it. That's it. You start doing that, you will have probably three, four, or five clients by the end of the month.
SPEAKER_02Meet new people, tell them you're a coach, ask them if they want your help. Now, if you're not doing any of those, you have an adaptive challenge. If you're find yourself doing number one, you're meeting new people, but you're not telling them you're a coach. If you are telling them you're a coach, but you're not asking if they want your help, any of those things, or you're just not meeting any new people, it's because you have an adaptive problem. You have something in here that is convincing you not to do those things. Now, talking to a uh a client yesterday, and I want to give you this as an example, all right? The thing that she said is like, hey, I used to be in the MLM world, and our thing was sending a hundred cold messages to people. I refuse to do that and grow my business that way.
SPEAKER_01And so what she did is she sent this many messages and she's like, My business isn't growing.
The Three-Step Client Method
Breaking Outreach Myths And Blocks
Building Mastery Environments
SPEAKER_02And when I'm I'm talking to her and having our conversation, she associated the fact that reaching out to people and telling them you're a coach and asking them if they want your help felt icky like MLM, so she doesn't want to do that anymore. And so she literally said that she disconnected, and so she's having trouble finding finding a uh um clients. And I'm like, well, you kind of have to talk to humans to find clients. It's a part of the equation. If you've convinced yourself that the way that you used to talk to clients was not good, let's just find a different way. But she her way turned to zero, and she's like, I'm not moving forward. So here's the thing some people like being able to do all those cold DMs. Some people like using social media, some people like meeting in real life, some people like a podcast, some people like meeting people at their work, right? Just being able to be in their environment, they can have conversations. It doesn't matter how you do it. What matters is that you meet new people, you tell them you're a coach, and you ask them if they want your help. Not maybe all at the same time. I mean, you could, you could be a high performer and do that. I tend to do one at a time, but like this is totally up to you. And anything that you could think about that would prevent you from doing this is an adaptive challenge. Now we work through that adaptive challenge, and now she's in like three or four conversations with people who want to potentially hire her as a coach. But the truth is it would have been able to keep her stuck forever because she didn't realize that she made the way that she was doing this in the past mean that she can't do it that way ever again. But there's a million ways to do this. Just as long as you meet new people, you tell them you're a coach, and you ask them that they want your help. Now, if you avoid any of these steps, like I said, it's not technical, it's an adaptive solution. And so, like when you think about the process that you're going through, yes, I want you to have like different ideas about things to do, but I want you to get to the root of what's actually holding you back. Because that's what we did today is we really were thinking about, yes, how can you develop confidence? How can you show up the way that you need to? How can you like literally jump on a call, have a conversation, send a DM coming from this place of I am going to be able to help you no matter what it is that you bring me, because I understand that there's technical problems and there's adaptive problems, and I can help you solve both, right? There's a difference when you can step into the room like that when it comes to confidence, right? But but when we think about this, it's like really understanding not only your own problems and your own things that you're dealing with, but also the problems that your clients are dealing with. And when you can marry those, where you're like, hey, I understand when there's a technical problem or an adaptive problem and I have the solution to it, because I'll tell you in a minute how you can do that, by the way, because you know how to overcome both of those problems, that when you step onto a conversation with a client and they have either a technical or adaptive solution or a problem, you can actually jump in and help solve it for them. And that's really the power of not only what we call high impact coaching, but knowing that you're going to be able to help solve this for them. And that's, my friends, like produces not only so much confidence in you, but so much confidence in them. Because if they know that you believe in yourself, you believe in what it is that you do, and you believe in how you can help them, there's just something that transfers a different kind of energy on the call. And they're going to be like not only like wanting to take the actions and do it for themselves, but also they know that you're going to be able to help them, right? And this is how you find clients. You focus on your own personal adaptive challenges so that you can get through, right? Now, some people ask me all the time, like, how do you do this? How do you train for this? All right. And I want to share an idea, um, an idea, but I want to share a little bit about um our program called the High Impact Mastery Academy. But I also want to share some of the principles that we have in there to make sure that no matter what you do, that you put yourself into an environment like this, right? Now, when it comes to like the adaptive and the technical challenges, like there's some learning that needs to be done between two, between both of them, right? When we think about like being able to grow into the type of coach that can solve any problems, there's a couple things that you need to make sure that you do. Number one is um you need to have repetitions. Yes, you need some structure, but you need to actually repeat it and to do it over and over and over again to the point where um you get so good at it, like you can do it on autopilot. Now, it's not just important to do reps, but it's also important to get feedback when you're doing it too. For some of you guys who are in the health and fitness space, you know that if somebody does a rep and they do the wrong rep all the time, that it actually creates things that they don't want, right? It creates muscle imbalances and a whole bunch of other things. And I learned when I was getting my personal training certification. But it's like doing reps just by themselves is not good enough. You need to be able to do reps and get feedback to make sure that you're doing it right, right? But at the same time, when you're going through these adaptive challenges, you also have to put yourself into a real coaching experience where you're able to get reps, feedback, do it, practice, and get to see, like get somebody from the outside who's going to be able to help you to not only guide you through that process, but help you to continue to elevate, right? There's a lot of people who are going through like certifications and coach trainings where it's just videos. Um, and if that works for you, that's awesome. It does not work for me, and it has not worked for a lot of the coaches who come to us because you want real reps, you want to be in the real room, you want to get real coaching, not only for yourself, but also practice and get feedback in. That's why that's really an important part of our system is to make sure that you're in a room where you're practicing it, you're getting to see the difference between the technical and adaptive challenges and being able to have a framework to help guide you through that, right? Um, and then once you are able to step in and really help people see not only the problems, but also be able to help guide them through, no matter if it's an adaptive or a technical problem, right? Now, this is this is really where the work is. It's not just for you right now, even though this is some work to do in terms of like how to find more clients, you have to be willing to do this, but it's also the work when it comes to like actually being able to help people through a real life transformation, a real life change, right? There's a difference between doing coaching, which I can give you scripts, I can give you a workbook, all that kind of stuff that you can like just read from, versus somebody who's become a coach. And when you've become a coach, it's just something you do all the time. You don't have to put your coaching hat on. It's just immediately there, right? And this is what we help you do inside of the High Impact Mastery Academy. Now, um, I want to share this. Um, uh, for those of you guys who have been following along with us, um, you really do think that like um there's an adaptive challenge that you need to overcome. And you want to be like an environment, not only to learn how to do it for yourself, but also how to do it for other people. This is what we do inside of the High Impact Mastery Academy, right? Now, we currently have a round that just started. Um, and we do have a couple more spots that are available inside of the round. But the thing is, is that this isn't something that that we um that is for everyone. Like being a part of the High Impact Mastery Academy is not just simply reading scripts, watching like uh video replays, and then and getting to the end without actually practicing. This is something that's an environment that kind of forces you to practice, forces you to take action, forces you to, I don't want to say forces, but it's kind of like calls you forward to be able to step in and and practice, coach, get feedback so that you when you get to the end of the seven months, because this is a seven-month program, that you feel like I'm not just doing coaching, I am a coach. And I've leaned in, I've become somebody different in the process. And I, and when you lean into that, when you are looking for clients, you will see that when you're jumping on with practice sessions, people are gonna be asking you about how they could potentially work with you, right? And it's because you really have been able to uh tackle these adaptive challenges. Now, I said that we have the high impact master academy. Um, I'm not gonna share all the details with you guys here. Um I'll put it, um, I'll put a link into the high impact master academy below. Um, for right now, for this week, we have opened, it's it's still open. Um, we have the first month of the High Impact Master Academy is a lot about teaching and training, not only the frameworks, but some of the ideas behind adaptive versus technical challenges. How can you spot them? How do you know if your client is actually dealing with one versus the other? How are you know if you're dealing with one versus the other? There's like processes that we take you through, um, as well as what we call our growth model to be able to understand how to help people and navigate the adaptive and the technical challenges. Is the first month is really laying that foundation. And then the six months after that is practice. First three months are practicing the foundation, the growth model. And then the last three months is generally what we teach to master coaches, higher level skills, so that you can actually help them with not just one thing, which is our growth model, but you can use multiple different skills to be able to help them on the other end. So this is a seven-month program. Um, like I said, I will leave you the link here for you to learn more about it. But I encourage if you're interested in doing something like this, you're really interested in like learning about how to overcome these adaptive challenges so you can find more clients, um, help you overcome adaptive challenges in your in your clients so that um uh you can actually get to the root of what they're going through. I would encourage you to actually reach out and have a conversation with me if that's something that you feel like um uh you want to have a conversation just to see if this is a good fit. All right. So I'm gonna leave you. Um, I'm gonna put the link here. Um, and maybe Teresa can say something while I put this link so it's not just completely quiet in here. I'll put a link in here that will show you um the details um about our High Impact Mastery Academy, which started um two weeks ago. Um and this will be something that if you decide to join, uh you would watch the first two weeks and then you would jump in um to our next live training. Um every we uh have calls every Saturday. So it's Saturday at 7 a.m. Pacific time, right? Um four weekends a month, four Saturdays, it's an hour long. Um, and all the details and stuff will be on that page for people who are interested. Modernleadership.us forward slash academy. Um, in terms of if you want to have a conversation with me, um reach out to me via email, marketmoderleadership.us. I know a lot of you guys are inside of our app, a lot of you guys are listening to our podcast, all those different things. Just find an avenue to reach out to me. Um, if you reach out to me on social media, my team will let me know, and then I'll have a conversation with you to see if this is a good fit. This is only gonna be open for another week and then we close it. We only have uh we usually only have one around every seven months, all right? So if that's something you're interested in, um grab a spot with the link that's there, or um send me an email if you want to jump on and have a one-on-one conversation over the next week or two um to see if this is a good fit, right? Now, um, Teresa.
SPEAKER_01Hi. How are you doing?
SPEAKER_00Good. I just wanted to say I just wanted to jump in here. Um, just thinking about like our the graduates from um the certification, um, because you know, you were talking about like how you go through a transformation yourself, right? Um you go through some of the adaptive challenges and you work through them so that you can also help your clients with that. Uh and what I see is that it's not like a, oh, once I'm done with this, then I'll find clients. It's like you're gonna, you're gonna find them in the process because you're gonna be working through your adaptive challenges. You're gonna be work, you're gonna be practicing, you're gonna be excited, you're gonna be much more confident as you go. And many of the people that were in the certification um found clients while they were doing this. Even even those who didn't have experience with coaching, who were just learning it, um, were finding people to talk to. And it's because they are working on themselves, they are going through and in um finding the solutions for their adaptive challenges and and and getting that to kind of show outwardly. So I just want to say that it's not about, hey, you know, if I do this, like I have to wait like all this time to be able to find clients. No, it's gonna be in the process if you're in there, if you're truly committed and you work through uh some of those uh challenges that you're going through.
High Impact Mastery Academy Invite
SPEAKER_02Yep. I love it. I love it. I actually, as you're having that conversation, I was thinking of Lisa, right? Um, so here's the thing like um the reason why uh, first off, why we call this a high impact mastery academy is because it takes a different caliber of coach um to want to go through this program. Um, this is not, like we said, following scripts or frame or like um uh just, you know, kind of like mentoring um based teachings. This is really understanding how your brain works, what can actually hold you back, and being able to create a plan to actually create something new, right? But it takes work to be able to do that, right? Most coaches probably aren't gonna want to go through something like that. They just want um to just go through the part of the process where they get to learn which questions to ask and stuff like that. And and that's not what we do here. We are more focused on mastery of coaching, not just basic level coaching. Even though we teach that in the first three uh months, this is really about learning how to master it. So you don't have to think about it anymore. It just happens on autopilot, right? And when I think about Lisa, the thing that I love about Lisa is she always leans in. She always like is willing to not only show up for the calls, but to take the action. And so that's why she's get she gets a lot of amazing results from it, right? Um, I mean, she started her own program, she has her first paid client, like all of these different things that would have never like um she would, she like was saying that she would have never had if she didn't really not just learn how to coach, but became a coach, right? And when you really not only understand that, but you lean into it and you get uncomfortable and you put yourself in that environment and you learn through practice, repetition, and through those that feedback, it just creates an entirely different process in the end. And then you've you fundamentally have changed, right? And then you get to the end and you want like, what's the next step? Which is awesome because we do have stuff like that, which we call like the master coach collective. But it's like that next step, you're like, okay, what is that next thing? But you have to be like, especially in the beginning, you have to be like uh focus on not only like um joining and being being a part of this, but actually showing up, showing up with the intents of like, I'm gonna be coachable. I'm gonna like literally go through this process, I'm gonna be transformed in the in the process. So that by the time that somebody else gets in front of me, they're gonna be like, this person has fully transformed and they're gonna want to hire me, right? I get this a lot. Like um, when I go uh in, like let's say when I go to the debt edge or go on speaking opportunities, I get two things. Number one is um, after like uh just having a little bit of a conversation with me, one of the things they say is like, oh, I know what you do. Like you don't even have to tell me what you do. I can already tell you're a coach. And um, and it's not because I like I purposely do that. It's just because I've been in trust, like in train um what's the word? I've been like um uh so deep into coaching for such a long time. And I constantly want to grow that it just happens automatically. It's like I don't even have to think about it, right? I know we were talking about this the other day, Teresa is like like people get afraid of the word mastery. And I'm like, I love mastery because it makes my life so much easier. I don't want to have to try and force things or think of like which framework should I use. No, I just want it immediately to be just like um uh to come up for me because I'm like, nope, this is the exact thing my client um needs. Yes, David, entrenched. There we go. There was the word. Um uh, but being able to like lean into that, lean into like just showing up as who I am and with the tools that I have, and and not only have to worry about like um uh what tool should I use, it just comes out naturally when I'm doing that, right? And and it's really powerful when you can step in that way because you're now, you've mastered that thing. And when you have those conversations, people are like, yep, that person can help me. Absolutely, they can help me, right? It's really powerful when you step into that. So, all right, guys, going back over to the beginning, real quick, when you think about struggling with finding clients, what is the perspective? What is the story you sell you're telling yourself that is preventing you from finding clients? Might be the service level one, probably not. It's probably three levels deeper. If you're willing to find out what that is, if you're willing to face it and you're willing to overcome it, jump into the High Impact Mastery Academy because that's what we do. Not just in this area, but in every area of your life that that could be coming up for you. Because this is how real change and transformation happens. If that's not for you, totally cool. Stay close if you enjoy this information. Um, continue to put yourself in environments where there's other coaches because it really is uh powerful to be able to do that. Um, but if you feel like you can't do this on your own, you feel like trying to do this on your own, it just feels like you're spinning and spinning and spinning. It's time to do something different, right? That's us, whether that's with us or someone else, to be honest. Like, I just want what's best for you. I want you to lean in. I want you to overcome that adaptive challenge because it'll make you the perfect person to be able to help somebody else through it too. Right? All right, guys. Thank you for leaning in. Thank you for showing up like how you guys always do, and like we say, thank you for leading from the front. Teresa, thank you for being an incredible co host here with your blue shirt on. I appreciate you so much. All right, everybody. Have a great week. Um, we'll see you real soon, all right? All right, bye.
