Podcast of the Day

Prior to the Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, Lauren sat down with the National Champion of Ireland PD Savage to talk about his journey to qualifying for the CrossFit Games.

Already a seasoned Regionals athlete, PD came back from an injury during the 2019/20 season to take the top spot on the Irish leaderboard but that didn't come without a fight.

The mental stress of qualifying for the pinnacle of the sport doesn't go unnoticed by the 30 year old, as he speaks about his social media black out during the Open and the pressure he put himself under to realise his goals.

His family play an important part in his journey, as does his coach Neil Laverty of SYSTM training, all of whom contributed to his success. This podcast acts as a reminder of the sacrifices athletes make to get to the top and the devotion they need to get there.

Plus PD is an all-round nice guy and a podcast king.
