26. The Healing Benefits of Postpartum Bodywork
I’m super excited to share more about the work I do outside of my birth education and coaching, which is bodywork! I actually specialize in prenatal massage as a massage therapist, but my deep passion is in craniosacral therapy. I work with moms who are trying to conceive, through their pregnancies, and in the postpartum period. I get to see the healing benefits of postpartum bodywork firsthand, and they truly are incredible.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about:
- Reasons why moms and babies comes to me for bodywork in the postpartum period
- The beautiful and intricate work of craniosacral therapy
- What the fascia is and how I work on it in the body
- What craniosacral therapy can help with
- Real stories of moms and babies I’ve worked with who processed their birth stories together
- Physical benefits of craniosacral therapy
I’m very passionate about this work, because bodywork is an essential part of the healing process for both mothers and babies in the postpartum period. I believe we should ALL be getting bodywork when we are postpartum, because we just lived through one of the most intense experiences of our lives. After all, when a mother is well-nurtured and thriving, the rest of her family is too!
