How to Decrease Anxiety Symptoms
Mar 26, 2024 Season 2 Episode 76
Lauren Wolfe MS, LPC
This episode is the 2nd in a two part series on anxiety. If you haven't listened to Ep# 75, "How to Prevent Anxiety Symptoms," it might be helpful to listen to Ep#75 first.

On this episode I'll tell you how my anxiety symptoms show up for me. Think racing heart, loss of appetite and some other not so fun symptoms that I'll share with you. I'll also tell you how I think of anxiety as an alarm bell that can be helpful to understand what is worrying us or what is out of balance in our lives. I'll tell you the exact steps I take when my anxiety shows up and how those steps help me get back to feeling calm and grounded. These steps include:

  • identify why I'm feeling anxious
  • identify what I need to do to move towards a more balanced life
  • notice my anxiety as a part
  • check in with my anxiety part to do some parts work (I'll tell you how)
  • journal
  • meditate
Whether you experience anxiety symptoms or have a child or family member that experiences anxiety symptoms, this episode will help you to better understand anxiety and how to decrease it.

On the segment, "Listener Questions," I'll tell you about how I was on two reality television shows and what that experience was like. Spoiler alert, it's not quite as realistic as it might seem.

And stay tuned to the end of the episode where I'll tell you, "What's Bringing Me More Zen Lately." If you have a spring break trip planed this will be a great item to have with you at the airport, beach or pool side.
