About Andrea:
Andrea Clark (she/her) is a functional somatic movement teacher and the co-creatrix of Nectar Retreat Centre + Mist Thermal Healing. She discovered early in her life that nature + solitude are her most potent healers. With ancestry from the Scotland, Ireland, + Scandinavia, Andrea was born + raised in close to the Rocky Mountains in Canada.
Andreaās journey, weaving through the realms of fine arts, design, movement exploration, + with an inherent gift for architecture, led her from the corporate world into the heart of yoga + spiritual exploration. Immersing herself in the teachings of revered artists + mentors, Andrea's extensive travelsāfrom India to St Lucia to Hawaii + beyondāshaped her holistic approach to well-being. Her studies encompassed traditionally rooted yoga, meditation, ayurveda, + functional movement, culminating in her role as a global retreat leader.
About Nectar:
Our Mission is to Seed Consciousness.
Our journey took an unexpected turn while traveling through India, Satjeetās ancestral land, leading us in the opposite direction of our original destination. What initially seemed like a āwrong directionā turned out to be a pivotal 18-hour detour, guiding us precisely to where we are nowāexactly on the right path.
We immersed ourselves in an ashram, exploring the Raja Yoga system, and gained a deep appreciation for the natural world and connected to our inner rhythms. Witnessing the Indian countryside's sense of community and simplicity fuelled our desire for a similar experience in Canadaāan immersive, nature-centric healing space that nurtures both body and spirit.
Our vision was to create a space rooted in tradition yet embracing modern comforts, welcoming visitors from across the globe. Returning to Canada's west coast in 2014, we felt the pull of Bowen Island, a small island off the coast of Vancouver. It was there where Nectar was born. Here, we not only established a home for ourselves but also crafted a sacred retreat center for others to experience tranquility.
