A tsunami alert hits your phone and half the neighborhood panics while the other half fires up a barbecue. That’s how this conversation starts, and it only gets more honest from there. Lynn joins me to talk about what it’s really like chasing modeling in Hawaii while staying grounded through storms, social media noise, and the weird stuff that comes with being visible online.
We get into her path toward cosmetology or aesthetician school and why she wants to pair beauty industry skills like waxing and lashes with a business degree. If you’re building a brand, thinking about entrepreneurship, or trying to create a stable career in the creator economy, her plan is simple and smart: learn a real skill, learn how to run the business, then scale with consistency. We also talk about rejection in modeling and brand collaborations, how she reaches out to companies, what “no” sounds like, and why it shouldn’t shake your confidence when you know there are more opportunities out there.
From there we dig into the social side: relationship boundaries, trust, jealousy, and how she handles DMs and attention without letting it run her life. We also talk body image, confidence, gym culture, and the pressure to look perfect on Instagram, plus practical photography lessons like angles and framing that can instantly improve your content. If you care about self-confidence, modeling advice, influencer marketing, and staying authentic online, you’ll get plenty to take with you.

Here we go. 54321. Welcome back to another episode of the relationship method podcast at your boy Chris. I kind of fucked up because we went into like a five-minute spiel without me pushing record. But that's okay. Life is about adjustments, and um I have integrity in telling y'all that I have I fucked up. Uh today I have a lovely guest. Um, she is an aspiring model, she is a student uh of the world. I have Lynn up on this bitch. Yay! Okay, round two. Lynn, how are you today?
SPEAKER_00I'm alright. I'm tired, and the weather was overwhelming me a lot.
SPEAKER_01Tell these folks about what type of weather Hawaii is having right now.
SPEAKER_00So I think it started Wednesday, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we were having a huge storm, power outages around I think most of the island. And me and my other half had to drive all the way to IAL because lights were cut off in Milalani, to Waipio, food places were closed, we couldn't do anything.
SPEAKER_01Was this is this the first time that Hawaii felt this type of like I guess storm or this hard of a rain for this long?
SPEAKER_00I'm not even so sure because I know like recently we've been having horrible weather.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I don't think it was as bad as this storm because we never had a power outage. I know we had the tsunami a while back, but it was a false alarm. So I think it's like kind of really bad.
SPEAKER_01Let me ask you this the tsunami, right? And I could tell you my story. What were you and your other half and your folks, what were you guys doing when this tsunami warning popped off?
SPEAKER_00Well, I was in bed and I was just scrolling on TikTok, then you know I got that alert on my phone. Yeah. And my boyfriend, he just got off work and he was working in North Shore. So I was like, okay, babe, like you gotta come over. And he's like, No, I'm just gonna cruise with my boys, yeah. All North Shore at the beach, and I'm like, that's not what you're gonna do. And he's like, Oh no, let's go fishing. But I forced him to come down, yeah, and like we just went on full like lockdown at the house, and I felt bad because I couldn't bring like all my friends in my house, yeah. So it was like, but it went over like super quick.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um my neighbors had a barbecue and they're like, hey Chris, you and the firm, come over. And I was like, uh, tsunami? They're like, uh no, come. And I'm like, all right, cool. So there were they got off work early and they were drinking and cueing it up, like my neighbors and shit. And I was like, Y'all don't take this shit seriously? Like, nah, man, it's it hasn't popped off the way it popped off. Like, I did a little research, but like back in like the 19 somethings. Maybe I didn't do my research because I can't even remember the year, but um, yeah, it didn't pop off like that. So yeah, we were just chilling. Did you ever get caught in that traffic or know anyone that got caught in that traffic coming back?
SPEAKER_00Oh, definitely. My friends were stuck like for hours coming from North Shore down to Milalani, and it's like packed there because I guess Milalani was like one of the safe spots.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I was actually really worried about this tsunami because I actually thought it was gonna happen. I don't think recently we've gotten a tsunami warning at all, or like my whole life. Yeah. So I was like, what the fuck is this actually happening?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But what um what precautions did your parents take?
SPEAKER_00My parents, they were both police, so they had to be directing traffic, they were like, Oh yeah, and they're stationed in Kalihi. So it's very hectic up there. So they were stuck from like morning to nighttime just directing people because they don't know how to drive when there's a tsunami warning.
SPEAKER_01This is true. Um, being a kid of policemen and women, um, how is that like?
Growing Up With Police Parents
SPEAKER_00Honestly, it's not even that bad.
SPEAKER_01It's not like you get away with a lot of stuff, or are they like away because you could get away with a lot of stuff?
SPEAKER_00My mom is like my best friend, she's my biggest supporter. And like she may be strict at times, but honestly, like when I was telling her, like, before I didn't even I was like a tomboy, I didn't do makeup, nothing. And she was like, Oh, I'm signing up for Miss Teen Hoy. And I was like, no, sign me out real quick. But when it came to like going out and like but boyfriends and stuff, she was like, as long as you're safe, keep your location on, if you need me, I'm there. But I moved out of her house at I think the age of 16, 15, and I moved into Mililani. But she's still like I still visit her a lot, she helps me so much, but she is the most like lenient person ever.
SPEAKER_01How about your pops?
SPEAKER_00He okay, so he's my stepdad. Oh, but he is a great guy, like he really stepped up as like a biological father, yeah, and like he has been there ever since I think I was like 10. And his kids too are like one of them is like she is like mom vibes. Well, she's obviously a mom, but she is like so much help when I I always run to her for advice and all this stuff, but he is such a sweetheart, like he's a big guy. You may think he's like rude or scary, but he's so nice.
SPEAKER_01That's what's up. Uh, me and your dad, stepdad have um something in common. I'm a step parent as well. Um and um I know the kid since he was like two or three. Yeah, so yeah, like I I totally understand. Like, I had to step in that role. So big ups to you know your your stepdad for for doing that. Because not a lot of men would take that role.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, and he treats my mom so good, like I've never seen my mom this happy in her life.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that girl, like, she does not need a man, she has rebuilt that whole backyard, she rebuilt a house, she rebuilt their kitchen. Like, she is such a hardworking person, but he treats her like the queen she deserves to be.
SPEAKER_01And they're both police officers.
SPEAKER_00Yes, they are, but my biological dad, he I think he's a prosecutor.
SPEAKER_01I thought you were gonna say a prostitute. I okay, a prostitute. I heard prostitut and I was like, oh.
SPEAKER_00I mistakenly said that one time. Like, um, we had like class presentations, yeah. It was like, oh, what do your parents do for work? And I was like, Oh yeah, my dad's a prostitute.
SPEAKER_01And everyone was like, hell yeah. Like you said it very proudly, Lynn.
SPEAKER_00I know. Fuck. I was so confident in that answer too.
SPEAKER_01Like, oh man, and they believed you because you said it sounds.
SPEAKER_00I was like, fuck.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, do you have a good relationship with him? Somewhat.
SPEAKER_00We we stay in contact here and there. Yeah, it's been like a very rough patch with me and him, but that doesn't mean like I hate him or I don't love him at all. Yeah, he was still a good father, uh-huh, but not in like specific aspects of being a father. Yeah. So it's like if I need him and I call him, he will be there.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I don't need to call him all the time.
SPEAKER_01Oh, facts.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it's alright. Like it's not a hate relationship.
SPEAKER_01And um you are uh a student?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I am.
SPEAKER_01What's the uh what's the goal?
SPEAKER_00What's the what's the major that you're trying to um So I'm planning on going to either cosmetology or aesthetician school? I want to do waxing, lashes, all of the above. And then I want to go to college for business. Mm-hmm. To be able to manage my own business and then to use that degree to get into like big jobs, you know?
SPEAKER_01Little TMI, um, have you ever been waxed? In order for you to be in waxing, like are you supposed to like feel oh not feel but know what it feels like so I could tell the customer, oh, this is the pain level, and this and the third.
SPEAKER_00I wax myself. I have never let anyone wax me in my life.
SPEAKER_01But does it hurt?
SPEAKER_00Okay, in like certain areas, yeah. Like armpits are like.
SPEAKER_01Like like the region. Yeah. Does it hurt in the region?
SPEAKER_00Oh, definitely. Oh, like armpits? No. It's fine.
SPEAKER_01Legs, no, arms, no, but Does does a woman uh do they get used to the pain in the region area? Like, are you used to the pain yet?
SPEAKER_00Or no.
SPEAKER_01No, it's still like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_00I've done it once or twice and I was like, yeah, never again.
SPEAKER_01Never again, huh?
SPEAKER_00I don't want to do that.
SPEAKER_01Fun fact, um, back in high school, um, I used to put nair on my legs. Yeah, I didn't know nothing about shaving. Oh my god. And as you can see, like I I have patches, but I mean Yeah, man. I guess I'm half of a man. Not really psych. But um, yeah, I nayed it up, and then after Nair, I was like, nah, this this shit lightweight burned, so like I started shaving and shit.
SPEAKER_03Burned?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know why, but yeah, maybe I put too much or I just got the wrong type of nair. But um, yeah, I almost like I almost on a dare, I almost put it on my eyebrows, and I was like, nah, dude, I'm straight. I'm cool, I'm cool.
SPEAKER_00I put it on my boyfriend's legs one time. Yes, and it didn't grow back until like two weeks.
SPEAKER_01It kills your shit.
SPEAKER_00I think, but it smells like fucking crap.
SPEAKER_01It did, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It smells like it's like it smells horrible, but I was like, I might as well just put it on your whole legs.
SPEAKER_01Girl, yes. Oh my goodness. Um with with with the guy, well, with your man, um, was it the whole leg or was it like the knee down?
SPEAKER_00So it was like the knee up. Like he was playing Hold up.
SPEAKER_01Wait, wait, so he wasn't he was hairless uh from the knee up, but hairy from the knee down?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Huh.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that's different. That's different.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because he was like playing on his PS5 and I was like, oh babe, I have this. Like, can I try it on you? He's like, okay, whatever. Uh-huh. So I put it on him, I was like, okay, wait five minutes. And then later he just hears me like rubbing harsh on his leg. He's like, what the fuck? And then all this hair was gone. And he's like, Oh.
SPEAKER_01Have you ever waxed him?
SPEAKER_00So the first time I ever got a waxing.
SPEAKER_01That's a yeah, that's a yeah.
SPEAKER_00The first time I ever got a waxing pot, I did not know how to wax.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, okay, babe, let me try on your back. And it was like his lower back, and it was like it was so watery, and your waxing's supposed to be like super watery. Okay. It's like super hot. And I I put it on him, and he jumped up so quick, and it messed up everything. But he like refused to rip off the wax strip, so I did it when he wasn't paying attention.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00Ever since then, I'm not allowed to touch him.
SPEAKER_01Good hey, good for him.
SPEAKER_00No, good for him.
SPEAKER_01Like, yo, boundaries, babe. Bound motherfucking dreams.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely not.
SPEAKER_01Oh, goodness. Um, with men, um, do you suggest uh them to be wax or do you like the is the hairy look more natural on them? Does it depend on the person?
SPEAKER_00For me, I don't like my boyfriend being hairy. Like he has tattoos all over his body. So when he has like arm hairs and it's covering his tattoos, I'm just like, that's so ugly.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But he knows to shave them now. Like leg hairs, I don't mind at all. Sometimes it annoys me. But like when it comes to body hair, I'm like, yeah, no, you have to shave it off.
SPEAKER_01Really? I've always wanted body hair.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01Um, I want chest hair because uh you ever watched the movie Austin Powers?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01I want to have the design of a penis on my chest. You know what I'm saying? How sick is that? Like a Filipino cat walking shirtless with a p you know what I'm saying? Oh my god. That's the only reason why I would want to be hairy, you know?
SPEAKER_00I don't like it, like and he has like chin hair, mustache. Like, I don't know if you spot that when you met him, but I hate it.
SPEAKER_01And I'm like, You don't like like facial hair?
SPEAKER_00No, why not?
SPEAKER_01What what is it?
SPEAKER_00I just want his baby face. Like, okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Tell me why. Like, why do you like the baby face? Because I know men they want to have the facial hair. He does he want it?
SPEAKER_00Oh, definitely.
SPEAKER_01You're the ones like, no, babe. Do you got do you guys compromise in that?
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure. Like, I'm just like, can you take it off? And he's like, Absolutely not. I've had this my whole life. And I'm like, Well, I miss your baby face. He's like, I don't care about no baby face.
SPEAKER_01I look like a picture.
SPEAKER_00I look mature now, and I'm like, absolutely not. Like, you're still young. When we're like parents, then okay, yeah, you can grow your facial hair, body hair, whatever.
Body Hair Debates And Waxing Chaos
SPEAKER_01There's a stipulation, girl. Um, you're also an aspiring model. Yes. Um how did you get into that? Like, what made you um, you know, look in the mirror and be like, you know what? I'm finna be incredibly good looking as an occupation.
SPEAKER_00This is my favorite topic because I was inspired by my best friend. Like, you will never meet another person like her, but she is a model too. She is so beautiful. And she was like, Oh yeah, I modeled for this thing called Anellaware. And I was like, Oh, that's cool. Like, I see the bikini brand, I've always wanted to. And then they had openings, and she sent it to me, and she's like, You have to do it. Like, if you want to do this, you have to apply. So I did. It was my first, um, not first official photo shoot, but it was a good photo shoot, and then after like me and her have been doing modeling together for a while, we take each other's photos. She's like, Oh, reach out to this brand, or let's both collab with this brand. She is so supportive, but she is the reason I got into modeling.
SPEAKER_01Really? Um, was this the one that was supposed to come, but couldn't? Mm-mm-mm, you're missing out, girl. Missing in some missing out on the ambiance, you know what I'm saying? Um, shoot, that's that's that's freaking cool. And then well, after was it a a rough start and everything, or like once you got hired by you know this this place, everything just started clicking, or was there like any type of struggle?
SPEAKER_00So I don't think there was any struggle. Like before getting into modeling, I would just post randomly in bikinis and whatever. And my following went up from like a thousand to uh six thousand because of modeling, no, just because of posting random photos, uh huh. And then I was like, okay, I'm done posting for a bit. My following went all the way down to like five thousand, got back into modeling now. I'm at like seven thousand.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But it wasn't any struggle. Like some brands, they will either not respond to me or deny me. Some brands will reach out or I'll reach out, but so far, like it's been going really good.
SPEAKER_01That's good. Girl, um, don't worry, I'm going through my I'm going through my good. Um do you have anything for me before we um we start um busting this shit fucking down?
SPEAKER_00You wanna be a model?
SPEAKER_01You know what? Uh okay, I I said this story like twice, I think twice on the pod. So back when I was like, I'm gonna say in middle school, and this is when I had dyed hair, I had the bangs, like I really looked like the typical old school Filipino, right? Um, my dad put me like in these pageants because my sister was. So it's like I did it, and it wasn't for me because I'm I'm such a goofball. Like when they say pose, or when they tell me to like I can't stay in that you know, I can't pose and I don't know what to do with my I'm a guy, so what do I do with my hands? Like I feel so like a robot if it's yeah to the side, so I'm like this and shit. I couldn't take direction for the life. My sister did it, but I couldn't take direction for the life of me. So I was like, yo, I can't do it. Like, even when I do like my headshots or like when I take pictures for the studio, yeah, I can't even fucking do it. I'm like, what do you like do something? I'm like, okay. So I just sit on the ground Indian style. Like, what do you do? As a guy, what do you do? I'm just I just feel so awkward. And I don't know, like maybe it's maybe it's like my like my insecurities or whatnot, but I just can't do it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you rarely see any male models. I mean, like, there's some, yeah, but like in Hawaii, like I see one that's often, uh-huh, but it's not even like they even know what to do.
SPEAKER_01Girl, like I want to be a hand model. I could definitely like make a V. I'll be like that. Make a W. Okay. How about you give me a finger? Alright, you know, like I could definitely be a hand model, but man, being like a model model, it's like, I don't know, man. I have a mole somewhere on my body, and I'm just like, I don't want someone to be like, hey, this motherfucker got a third nipple. You know what I'm saying? It's like, nah, man, it's a mole, goddammit. You feel me? So I don't want that shit coming my way, you know? And then um, yeah, man, I just I don't I don't know. Am I open to it? Maybe. Like if someone was like, hey, Chris, I think you'd be like a real good mom. I was like, alright, cool. Can I one, can I be covered up?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because I'm shy with my toes, you know what I'm saying? I'm not trying to show off my toes. Okay, me too. Um, you know, like two, uh, I want to be like indoors because your boy can't do heat. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm sweating, like, I I I'm cool, but I start sweating like fast. For some reason, I'm like a fast sweater. And then um, yeah, but I I'd be down to do it just in those types of conditions, you know.
SPEAKER_00High maintenance, huh? Fuck yeah! Why the why the fuck?
SPEAKER_01I know my goddamn worth girl. Um tell me like a um like say uh like a a modeling shoot that was that didn't go your way. Like it like it was supposed to be sunny, but the clouds rolled in last minute, you got rained on. Like, what was like the most horrendous modeling shoot that you've experienced?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna be honest, like you haven't had one. I watched the weather, but an elect like it was a set date, set time. Like storms were coming, it was raining every single day, and they were like, Okay, we're gonna shoot for this day. I don't care, and then like it was honestly not that bad. It was sunny, but I don't think I've ever had an issue. Like, I don't know, rain doesn't follow me when I'm taking photos.
SPEAKER_01Lynn, shut up, I have the perfect shoot every fucking time. Oh, my name's Lynn. Oh here's it. We're gonna go into these questions now. Um, dealing with rejection and um and auditions, have you ever got rejected while trying to get like a like a photo shoot with someone or trying to like try out for some type of brand or whatnot?
SPEAKER_00Oh, definitely.
SPEAKER_01How did you um how did you overcome that? And when you first got that news of being rejected, how did you feel?
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, like I reached out, I was like, hi, I love your brand, I love what you sell. Like, would it be okay if we collaborated? And they were like, they gently said, No, we're not looking for ambassadors right now, and like our brand isn't that big enough to have models. So I was just like, okay, I completely understand, and if any like time further than that, you need a model, I'm always available. But it doesn't affect me because there is so much brands out there, uh-huh, and there's so much opportunities for me that one rejection, couple rejections, five rejections, it won't affect me because I know there's bigger and better things to come.
SPEAKER_01Girl, um, I guess the follow-up question uh lines up with your answer. Um, building discipline while chasing, like chasing that dream. Like uh in order for you to accept that rejection, you had to be really disciplined because it's one of those things where it's a numbers game, right? Like four would say no, but then after that fourth one, six would say yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know? Oh man, how did you feel when you um like after a booking? Like, are you ecstatic, or is it one of those things like, man, I can't believe I got it.
SPEAKER_00I'm just like, oh my gosh. I call my best friend and I'm like, guess what?
SPEAKER_01Hey, Destiny, check it out.
SPEAKER_00Like, guess what? I just got the brand. Like, you reach out to them too now, so we can do it together. Uh huh. Or I'll text them so you can do it with me. Or I'll call my boyfriend and I'm like, babe, you have to bring me to this photo shoot. You have to take my photos, and he's like, Oh fuck, okay.
SPEAKER_01He's your BTS guy?
SPEAKER_00Oh, definitely. He is such a good photographer.
SPEAKER_01Really? He knows angles and everything.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like we went to the beach the other day to uh model in like two bikinis, and he got this really low angle, and I was like, before I even seen the photo, I was like, babe, I fucking hate that angle. Like, get up. Uh huh. And he's like, wait, you have to see it first. And then in the end, it was the photo that I posted and that I'm using for every single thing now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And big ups to you, guy.
SPEAKER_00He's annoying.
Getting Into Modeling And Early Momentum
SPEAKER_01Uh um, just recently I've figured and I figured out um angles because I'm taking Pictures for my wife, right? And she always said, and this is be back in the day where you know, before social media, I was like, damn, I took I take ugly pictures, you know. And then once I started getting in you know into this creative world, I was like, Oh shit, angles do really matter. You know what I'm saying? Because like you ugly as shit when you take a picture like this, but then you handsome or you cute when it's like up here when the jawline is contorted.
SPEAKER_00You can't see that triple chin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. So it's like the angles are, and then um what what did I learn? Something lines or something? Did you ever learn about lines or middle lines or third lines or some shit?
SPEAKER_00Oh, like the grid.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, so I I I recently learned that. So now it's just like, oh, okay, angles are so important.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it took me so long to learn about angles and photography. Like, I own two cameras. I would do senior portraits, regular portraits, beach photos for other people, like and sports. So going into photography class too helped me a lot. And especially with that grid stuff, because they would be off camera.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Half of their bodies out of the camera, but then I finally learned angles and everything.
SPEAKER_01But so you were an aspiring photographer as well.
SPEAKER_00I was.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you was until modeling became full-time?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and like I kind of I was just like, I don't want to take photos of people all the time.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, fill you.
SPEAKER_00Like, I'll take photos, you ask me, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But it's not like I'm you fit in a be make it a future. Yeah, I don't want a job like that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Um, what's the reality behind like looking perfect all the time since you're a model? Do you be do are you like, and this is like in your your your own psyche, you have to look a certain way before heading out the door, or are you cool with like La Bun, no lashes, motherfucking beef in your teeth?
SPEAKER_00Nobody will ever see me in public without lashes. That's one thing. Like, you can see me like bare face, but I always have to have lashes on.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00But when it comes to like taking photos and stuff, I'll go to the beach full face of makeup just for the photo.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And then I'll go in the water. But it's like I have many flaws on my body that is a big concern to me when I when it goes into modeling. But when it comes to my face, I need makeup.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But even if I don't need to put on makeup or and just lashes, that's okay.
SPEAKER_01Aren't you afraid? Because I've seen this several times, that your lashes will like kind of fall off or plop off if you're like going to the beach or doing some type of strenuous activity.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so my boyfriend, he has like sounds, you know, like how Hawaii boys lifted trucks at sounds.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Yoda.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_012000 Tree.
SPEAKER_00He has a lifted Yoda.
SPEAKER_01Brand new cherry, bruh.
SPEAKER_00But he was like so into silence. He was super loud. Like, you'll see his bed was full of speakers, yeah. His doors and whatever. He had subs. And like he'd crank that bass knob, and my hair would just go insane. Eyelashes are about to fall off, and I'm like, bruh, we gotta be somewhere. I need to look at it.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. But has it ever because that I could only like if I saw that while I'm driving and someone's speakers were going that loud and that was those bumping, and it just it hit you so hard, like the lashes fall off. I think I'd cause an accident because that would be so hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like he was so into sounds.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Recently I've made him remove them. What? So he only got like a rack in there. But he's gonna go back to sounds in the summer. But he was so into sounds, he would bring me to all these sound comp sound meets. He'd put me in the cars and he's like, okay, let's see how your hair goes, and then everything's falling off. I don't have a hairbrush, like it's tangled.
SPEAKER_01Really? I need to be dude, post it, and then I need to go to one of these because I want to see like what the f like hair being removed by these sounds. That'll be I laugh my ass off. And it's just because I think it's funny. It's not like I'm dissing anyone, but I just think it's funny as fuck.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, they put a lot of girls in the trucks.
SPEAKER_01Oh hell yeah, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I think Hawaii is most like very known for our truck cruises and our sounds and our gifted trucks, but I hate it.
SPEAKER_01Girl, um, have you figured out who you are before becoming who you want to be yet?
SPEAKER_00Hmm, that's a good question.
SPEAKER_01I know, girl. Come on, man, I'm the podcaster.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. Figure out who I am.
SPEAKER_01Um, or is there is there still like more growing with you?
SPEAKER_00I think there's so much more for me to learn. And I don't think that right now I'm like where I want to be, uh-huh, who I want to be, and whatever. Like, I feel like I could do so much better in life. Like, sometimes I feel like I'm way behind.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But then like I'll talk to someone about it, and they're just like, you have to realize, like, you're not like crazy, like older now. Like, you're not doing all these things, you're slowly getting there, but you have a plan and you're sticking to it, so that's good. So, like, as long as I'm trying, it's just like I'm not where I want to be right now, but I will be in the future.
SPEAKER_01That's facts because um, like uh, I know this. Well, I don't know him personally, but there's this actor. He started acting at 53, and he's like one of like he's one of the prestigious actors in Hollywood right now. And um, before that, he was just uh he wasn't slanging his dick, but he was um what was he doing? He was uh he was uh a a waiter? He was a waiter or a bus boy or some shit. I think he was a waiter, and then um yeah, he just got found at age 53, started acting and shit. So I was like, damn, you know, so it's never too late for someone to to find his or her like calling. And it's it's not bad to try things out, you feel me? Because um, when I started this pod, episode one, I was like, what the fuck? But now I'm like at episode triple digits, and I'm just like, oh shit, yeah, it's cracking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was binge watching your page and I was like, oh, what kind of questions there is?
SPEAKER_01Let me ask you, what do you think? Since you, you know, you're on my page, what did you think of the topics that I was, you know, putting out there or I was really interested in it. Oh, really?
SPEAKER_00And I thought it was like straight relationships.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00So like I was like, okay, I'm probably gonna expect like, oh, oh yeah, it's this and that. But I was watching it and like the girls, the guys, they're so funny. And like they're I love it. It's like it's so what is it called? Like eye-catching. Like, I wanna keep watching it.
Rejection Proofing And Booking Confidence
SPEAKER_01Oh, I appreciate you. Um, I think it's because like each person, they all have the same story, but it's di it's a different telling, you know? Yeah, like someone could got cheated on, but the way they got cheated on could be different in like 15 million ways, you know what I'm saying? Like, oh, I caught my husband fucking a goat. Fuck, okay. I caught my wife, you know, cheating with a mailman, or some shit like that, right? Uh-huh. So it's like it's different, and I think it's because I'm not a local and I don't talk about Hawaii just like these other podcasts. Yeah. I think that like, I don't know, it it what makes me stand out and shit. Um, but thank you. Hey man, thank you for binging my shit, man. Of course. Um influence of friends versus staying authentic.
SPEAKER_00Um, my friends influence me a lot, but they do it in all good ways.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Like, none of my friends well, I've had bad influences, uh-huh, but they're not like in my circle anymore.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00Like, I know who's good, who's bad, and my own opinion. So whatever I know is best, I will follow, but I'm not a follower. I'm a trendsetter. No, I'm joking.
unknownUh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But like my best friend, yeah, she will never lie to me. She'll never give me like sweet stuff. Like, yeah, if I need to know something and it's serious, she'll tell me. Like, if I need to leave someone, I'll leave them because she told me to.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, girl, so um, with your friends, do you like do you seek their guidance sometimes, or are you fully independent with your thinking?
SPEAKER_00I can never say that I'm 100% independent.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You can ask my best friend. I rely on her so much.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00She is like my sister, and like I will run to her about every problem. Even if I know the answer, I'm just like, oh, help.
SPEAKER_01So you want you want the validation from her?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like even if it's not what you're hearing, you're still gonna Yeah, even if I don't want to hear it, I know that I need to hear it because she will never lie to me.
SPEAKER_01Let me ask you this when you're asking for these advices, right? Are you the type of person that will take them, or are you just like, nah, fuck that, I'm gonna do my own shit.
SPEAKER_00She I'm such a hard head.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Like, I will take the constructive criticism, but I'm a hard head. Yeah. Like for like five, like the beginning of the conversation, I'll be like, whatever.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00That's that's your opinion. I don't care. You don't need to be in my business. Like, we've had so many arguments because I'm like, you won't be in my business anymore. You don't need to know anything anymore. Got it. And then she'll just thumbs up and we'll go see each other for like a week, and we're like, Oh, I'm so sorry. Like, but I'm a big hardhead, and she is too. So it's like it's such a funny friendship. We're just stubborn people, huh?
SPEAKER_01How do you uh okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Dating while focused on your goals. How is your your I guess your your relationship with these goals that you have for yourself?
SPEAKER_00My relationship is so good. That's good. My boyfriend is my biggest supporter, he is so secure with me. Like, I will do what I want if I need like if he has boundaries, then I will respect them. But he has never brought up a boundary that stops me from doing what I want.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I tell him that I want to do all these things in my future, and he's like, Yeah, do it. Like, I got your back. Like, you're going through financial problems, I'll help you. Like, you need your photos taken for a model. I got you. You need me to take you, I got you. Like, he is such a blessing.
SPEAKER_01Let me ask you this then. Um, oh shit, I just had a brain fart. Uh-huh. Oh, okay. Um, how did I get the yes from you to like come on the pod?
SPEAKER_00I was in bed with my boyfriend, and then uh you sent me the message. I'm like, babe, look at this.
SPEAKER_01And I've shut your ass up. You did not go off this.
SPEAKER_00I've seen your page, that's why, from that Casey girl. Oh, okay. So I was like, oh my gosh, no way. Uh-huh. And then he's like, What's that? And I was like, it's a podcast. Like, oh my gosh, I want to go, babe. He's like, okay, go then.
SPEAKER_01So you didn't think of it like as a like a as a as a random guy creeping on your page just to send out a DM. That never crossed your mind?
SPEAKER_00No, because this is your like this is what you do.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00It's not like I'm looking at you a weird way. Like, if you had no post on your page, then it'd be like, okay, no.
SPEAKER_03Red flag. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But you have had continuous people and you have had people that I know and I trust on there. So it's like, okay, yeah, I trust this. I'm down.
SPEAKER_01So having a relationship with people that you know helps out the credibility of, like, say, the person that's asking. Did that come out right? So let's say we both know Casey. If Casey was to say, hey, don't go with this photographer, he's a sleaze ball, would you listen to her, or would you be like, you know what? I'm gonna give this sleaze ball of a photographer a try.
SPEAKER_00I'd ask her for her specific reasons and if it's just her opinion or like he like they actually came off in a wrong way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then if she's like naming reason after reason and it's like really like bad things, and I'm like, okay, yeah, frick no. But like she never said anything bad about you.
SPEAKER_01Uh huh.
SPEAKER_00So it was like, okay, that's great.
SPEAKER_01Girl, she she better not. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm supposed to have her back on, right? Um shit, my shit cracked. I'm supposed to have her back on. I haven't said a date yet, but she will, Casey, if you're watching, listening, I will have your ass back on. Maybe I have both of y'all on, who knows, right? Um, but yeah, okay. Um, yeah, okay, cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Uh um, okay, peer pressure um to be in relationships. Um, in your modeling shoots or whatever, were you ever like pressured to well, you're not out there out there yet, but yeah, like to say, oh man, say you're single because you'll get more clout, or you know, just were you ever pressured to do something that you're like, uh nah, I'm straight?
Photoshoot Skills And The Power Of Angles
SPEAKER_00No. Okay, good. Because you can't control my relationship. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like obviously, I get more views when I don't post my other half. Yeah. But there's his name, his highlight, like all this stuff. And on other platforms, he is like just all over my page. But like there will be people that like don't like my relationship, and they're just like, yeah, no, don't post that. Don't do this for him. Why would you do this for him? And it's just like, I don't care. That's my man, not yours.
SPEAKER_01How do you handle the the horny women and men that you know that slide into your DMs and such?
SPEAKER_00It's funny, like it's super funny because my boyfriend has my account too, so like sometimes he'll respond to them jokingly.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And it's like, it's it's just a laugh for us. And like, I find it so weird because I've seen like like explicit things and all this stuff. Uh-huh. But they're weird. The only thing I pay attention to is my mutuals, brands, like people are important.
SPEAKER_01Did your boyfriend ever DM me back? Like when we were you know chopping it up. Oh, okay. Because I would have been like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Like he he gets notifications. Like this morning, I was like, babe, you've seen the address, right? And he was like, Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00And then he opened it and I was like, like, why'd you open the message though?
SPEAKER_01It's not, was was your oh wait, you stayed Melanni, right? Okay, not not that far, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was like what 16 minute drive.
SPEAKER_01Um, oh, here you go. Jealousy and insecurity with social media attention. Um, you said that your man is um secure.
SPEAKER_00Definitely.
SPEAKER_01How about the other way? Are you secure?
SPEAKER_00So he's definitely like not like been around. Like he is Mr. Aloha. He would go to Sandy's every weekend, you'd see him out, like all this stuff. So I'm just like, there's a girl following you? You want me to text her? You better remove her. No. But like I'm very secure with him. I trust him. Yeah, okay, okay, okay. I honestly trust him so much. I just don't trust females.
SPEAKER_01If you trust him so much, why would that be an issue with the females?
SPEAKER_00Because you know the game. Why the fuck are you gonna text my man? You don't even need to follow him. You see I'm in his bio, you see I'm in his highlights. No, you're removed.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so but what if he doesn't follow back? They follow him, is that okay?
SPEAKER_00It's alright.
SPEAKER_01Okay, but when he starts following back, then it's like, babe, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_00I'm just like, okay, how do you know her? And if he's like, oh, like it's uh it's my boy's girlfriend or it's my friend from high school, I'm just like, okay.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay, no, no questions asked.
SPEAKER_00I'm just like, did you have any relations with them like physically, sexually, intentionally? And he's like, no. And I'm like, okay, that's fine.
SPEAKER_03That's good.
SPEAKER_00But there's some girls that I know have hit on him, uh huh. Exes, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I'm just like, yeah, automatically no.
SPEAKER_01Automatic no.
SPEAKER_00But as of now, like, he is so obsessed with me. I'm not worried. I don't check his page, I don't check anything.
SPEAKER_01When you say obsessed, right? Because my wife threw that word around. I'm like, dog, uh I'm obsessed with myself before with you. You know? Um, is that uh yeah, like how do you know he's obsessed with you? And my answer to my five, was that wrong?
SPEAKER_00It depends.
SPEAKER_01Like well, I mean, we have that relationship though, like we're not so funny like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's fine.
SPEAKER_01Uh huh.
SPEAKER_00My like in my term of him being obsessed, is like calls me, updates me all the time, the which is bare minimum, but then he's like, Oh babe, you're so beautiful, and I'm like, I'm in his clothes, I'm in like I'm in the most homeless outfit ever. Yeah. And he's like, You're so beautiful, you're my beautiful angel. And I'm like, what the fuck? Like, are are you like Is he helping material? Oh, definitely.
SPEAKER_01Does he cook and all that stuff too?
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't really let him in the kitchen.
SPEAKER_01Why not?
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I think Are you the cooker? You don't even cook either, huh?
SPEAKER_00I I know a little bit.
Beauty Standards And Always Wearing Lashes
SPEAKER_01I don't want to make eggs. I wouldn't, I wouldn't say, oh yeah, but I ain't no motherfucking Yang can cook.
SPEAKER_00Oh that's one thing, girl.
SPEAKER_01Damn, that's expensive as shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but he's a very good guy. Like, he would get me gifts all the time. Roses when my roses would die. Like that man is in love.
SPEAKER_01I'm in love too. Kudos to you, big dog.
SPEAKER_00I already have my second promise ring.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. So a promise ring?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I got two.
SPEAKER_01Cute. Cute. It's shiny as hell, too. If y'all can see that shit, that shit's shiny as fuck. Um, here we go. Uh, posting for opportunity versus posting for attention.
SPEAKER_00I post for both. So, like, if I'm collaborating with a brand, I tell them, like, they'll ask why, and I'm like, I want more audience to reach the both of us while bringing more opportunities for myself and for this brand. So it's like I do it for people to see, people to interact, and all this stuff. So I guess it's like it's a two-in-one deal, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Why didn't I even ask that? Is there any pressure to be interesting to to look interesting online? Do you think there's pressure nowadays, or for you in particular?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think that when it comes to like posting, it's so like because there's so many beautiful models, and it's just like, fuck, I need the right photo, I need the right angle, I need to have my page looking the way I expect it to be. Like, I don't want to post two times in a row, like it's it's like a schedule.
SPEAKER_01I've said this before, and I think um I don't know if people heard it or someone anyone followed up, but if you want to see the real person on Instagram, just look on the tagged photos because it's always the ugliest pick. I took those down. Yeah. Oh, you did?
SPEAKER_00I remembered to make that private. They have to ask permission.
SPEAKER_01I had so many, like back in the day, I had you know, like just drunk picks, and just I was so unaware of the flash that you know they would tag me, and of course they're like, I look, you know, yeah, not there. But yeah, I tell people if you really want to know the person, you gotta look at the tag to the page.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, and I stalk those too. Really? If I'm looking at like someone and I'm I'm just like, I don't know about this page, it doesn't seem too real. So I look through the tag post. And if there's a tag, then it's like and you see like group photos, you see like school stuff, and I'm just like, okay.
SPEAKER_01What do you think of the cancel culture and the um and online judgment?
SPEAKER_00It doesn't faze me when people judge me, honestly. Like, you're giving me more attention, honestly.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And what do I have to worry about? If you're prettier than me, then okay. Like, it's no competition in life for you to be prettier than me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, I think I come off as a very sweet person. I hope I do.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'll play I'll play, uh keep going. I'll play. Go ahead, keep going.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think I do come off as a sweet person. So I don't like I hope that people don't find reasons to hate me or dislike me. But obviously, there's people like high school, like they used to bash me all the time. And I'm just like, okay, look where I'm at now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You don't it like you don't worry me.
Identity Growth And Friend Influence
SPEAKER_01Girl, let me tell you about this. When people still bash you from high school or like still trying to relive their high school popularity, I to me it it's somewhat cringy, but I laugh because it's like, yo, you were so popular, and now you're trying to like you're at this age now to where you still think you're it but you're not anymore. And I'm just like, yo, you're not it anymore. Like the the nerdy ones, the the bookworms and the geeks. Hey, we glowed up. I'm not gonna uh I'm not you know I'm I'm tuning my horn, man. I glowed the fuck up from high school, man. So yeah, that's yeah, when you said it triggered me. High school triggered the fuck out of me, right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like the Queen Bees, they Queen Bees are like they are still stuck in their high school like popularity, especially football boys. They're like, oh yeah, I was a star in high school. Okay, well, now where are you now? Like high school did not matter.
SPEAKER_01It didn't.
SPEAKER_00I looked, I mean, different. Yeah, like from my freshman to ending, it was just like I looked so different in my freshman year. I was bullied so much because of it.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But now, like some of them even look up to me, and I'm just like, that is sweet of you, but it's embarrassing if you're gonna be talking crap about me and now you're a fan of me?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Mm-mm. Let me ask you this then. Um, are young people rushing to to become adults to adulthood?
SPEAKER_00Definitely.
SPEAKER_01Why do you think that is? Do you think it's social media, or do you think it's the time that we're living now?
SPEAKER_00I would definitely say it's social media, and also if they have older siblings, because me as a younger sibling, it's just like they have so much opportunities, and I just feel like I'm so behind, and I want to catch up to them, so I want the same opportunities. Uh huh. Like my sisters got a tattoo at like 18, whatever, and I was like, Oh, I want a tattoo, so I got one at 15.
SPEAKER_01And it's like, wait, hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up. You got a tattoo at 15.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I got all matches.
SPEAKER_01Is that um hold up? Is that common in Hawaii?
SPEAKER_00Honestly, yeah.
SPEAKER_01See, if you if you had a tat back in Cali, and me being the nerd, I was like, oh my god, I think she went to like she came from jail or some shit. Like, I would definitely fucking say that shit. But I mean, I've noticed out here it's a culture, like young kids begin yaded at an early age.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Your parents was cool with it?
unknownOh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Your stepdad and your and your mom's.
SPEAKER_00So we have matching tattoos, that's why.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, you got the coolest parents ever. Say, hey man, I'm taking you today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I have a rose with three butterflies, and they had like different stuff.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So after that, I attached a dragon all the way down to my ribbon stomach. And it was like, okay.
SPEAKER_01At least it was a meaningful one. And it wasn't like, oh, Justin Bieber on your forehead, right?
SPEAKER_00I will always have a meaning to my tattoos. Okay, good.
SPEAKER_01You know, you know, motherfuckers, they they they put their body look like a scratch pad, you know.
SPEAKER_00I judged my boyfriend on that.
SPEAKER_01He has a scratch pad.
SPEAKER_00When he turned 18, he got tatted up. I mean, he has a tribal tat, which has a meaning, of course. But it's like there's so much random tattoos. He has like one of one, and I'm like, boy, you are not one of one. You're a local boy. Put that look at his place quick. He's like, I am one of one. What do you mean? I was like, you're a local boy, go to Sandys, lift idiot, like you get gold chain, all this stuff. You're not one of one. Yeah, you're yeah.
SPEAKER_01I ain't talking trash, dude.
SPEAKER_00But you're the one in my heart.
SPEAKER_01That's your girl. That's your girl. That's your girl speaking. Um, have you ever be have you ever been sexualized in public places, especially the modeling work that you be doing?
SPEAKER_00I've been like cat called and stuff, and like there will be random people that will say the most outrageous things like as I'm walking past. It feels uncomfortable, but I'm just like, oh.
SPEAKER_01Really? Yeah, it's like has has a cat call ever become flattering to you, or has it always been like a oh, what the f when it comes to girls?
SPEAKER_00Like, sometimes I'll walk they're like, Oh, you're tea, or like, goddamn, and I'm just like, Oh, thank you. And then we exchange Instagrams.
SPEAKER_01And a guy would be just weird.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Not even a compliment would be like, oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_00If it's if I know, or like if he looks like a mature, well put together guy and he's like, You look very beautiful, and I'm just like, okay, thank you.
SPEAKER_01Like you look pretty today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but if it's like some weird stuff, and I'm just like, I don't even I don't even act like I heard them.
SPEAKER_01I could attest to this, it feels good getting a compliment from a gay guy because gay guys are like freaking I don't know, like they're I think they're like the judge of everything, right? Yeah, so when a gay guy is like, hey Chris, and I'm like, hey, he's like, you're looking great today. And I'm like, fuck yeah, okay, thank you. Or a random gay guy is like, hey, you know what, you're you're a handsome fellow, you're kept together. I'm like, thank you, sir. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00I don't have many gay friends. Why not?
SPEAKER_01Why don't you have any gay friends in your in your book of friends?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, like they just don't reach out to me.
SPEAKER_01But you gotta know like at least one or two in your repositive, yeah.
SPEAKER_00They're the funniest, like they're so sassy, but I love it. And like I trust their judgment so much.
SPEAKER_01Me too. Me too. Um, what scares you more? Failing or never trying?
SPEAKER_00Never trying.
SPEAKER_01This is true.
SPEAKER_00Because I agree to that. Yeah, like if I fail, there's so many chances to retry. There's so many chances to do this and that or that. So it's like if I feel okay, what I can do better, uh-huh, you know. So if I don't try, I just feel like a loser.
SPEAKER_01Really? I've been put in situations, especially in the military, where it's like, hey, you, you're in charge of this, and I'm like, fuck, I've never done this before. And there were times where I'm just like, dude, I can't do it. I really can't. Or but there was like a lot of times where I was able to like rise to the occasion, right? Like um execute it successfully. And it was those positions where I was like, oh shit, I never thought I had this in me.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like uh, like shooting a weapon, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01If I was back home, I would never know, like I would have never known that I was a pretty good shot without trying. You feel me? So yeah, like not what was the question again? Never trying. Yeah, I'm I'm a I'm a real big firm believer of dude, what's there to lose with you, you know, like if you try if you tried acting and you didn't get a gig, well shit, at least you're that five percent that said, Oh yeah, you know, I did go to an edition.
SPEAKER_00I feel like I fail when I don't try.
SPEAKER_01Oh, facts, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, if I'm not putting in any effort, but I'm like, oh, I want to do this so bad, I want to get here so bad, but I don't put in the effort, it's like okay, you automatically failed.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Mindset.
SPEAKER_01Um, when do you feel the most confident and the most insecure?
SPEAKER_00I feel the most insecure when I start paying attention to like my body, and I'm just like, oh, I have hip dips, oh I haven't gone to the gym in a while, oh I have like dark spots on my body. It makes me feel so insecure, and I'm just like, maybe I'm not up for modeling. You know what I mean? Yeah. But I feel the most confident when I finally get myself ready, put on my makeup, and then I turn to my best friend or my boyfriend, and they're like, You look so beautiful.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00And I'm just like, okay, maybe the things I'm looking at aren't even as bad. Like, you know, like when you look at your flaws too much, you think they're actual flaws, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, interesting. I like that.
SPEAKER_00So I haven't been feeling insecure because of the people around me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
Dating With Goals And Social Media DMs
SPEAKER_00And I think like it's so great to have a good friend and a other half, and especially supportive uh parents and stuff. So I'm just like, oh, I'm confident.
SPEAKER_01Girl slay, yes. Um, let me ask you this. Um You say you go to the gym, right? Are you a uh a before pooper or like during the gym you have to poop? I've never been constipated before or during really yeah, like when I I think, well, for me, right, I have to poop before the gym. And like while I'm at the gym, like let's say I'm I'm doing legs, right? I feel it in my stomach, I'm like, oh shit, I gotta go. And I I'm that type of person that I hate eating. Like, I don't I want to do it like in an empty stomach.
SPEAKER_00So I need to eat like two hours before I go to the gym.
SPEAKER_01You have to eat what, like something big or like peanut butter and jelly sandwich?
SPEAKER_00Like peanut butter jelly. And I'm on birth control, so for the first three months of birth control, I would go to the gym and I would throw up every time. Like I cannot eat.
SPEAKER_01After the gym sesh, you would throw up.
SPEAKER_00Before. Oh, before? And after. Okay. So it was like super bad, but the thing is, I need to pee before I go to the gym. If I pee during the gym, I feel like I lost everything I worked out for. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01That's weird as fuck. Well, hold on. You you low you feel like you lose everything when you pee.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so like if I'm hitting legs or glutes or whatever, which that's like the only thing I do in the gym.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay, continue.
SPEAKER_00And then I'm like, oh fuck, I need to pee. I go to the bathroom and I'm just like, uh, I feel like I lost my ass.
SPEAKER_01But don't you drink water or some type of liquids while you're working out? Or are you like so you lost your ass while peeing? I think that's how that's your that's your psyche.
SPEAKER_00I think. So then I'm just like, okay, I gotta work out another hour.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, okay, okay. The gym culture, right? And you know, you go to the gym, you work on glutes, so I'm I'm assuming a lot of guys be like looking at your behind, right? Have you have you caught a guy staring? And if so, like did they apologize or did you make eye contact with them? Like, how does that work out with you? What work out, huh? Look at that.
SPEAKER_00I've caught people staring, and then sometimes I make eye contact and sometimes I don't, and then sometimes they walk up to me and they're like, Oh, I thought you were really pretty. Can I have your Instagram? And then sometimes I'll be like, Okay, sure. And then I won't follow them back and I'll tell my boyfriend. I'm like, oh, I just got a free follower.
SPEAKER_01Is there a time and place in the gym to I guess talk to a woman? Like while they're working out, or well, like in your in your perception, in your eyes, is there a place and time?
SPEAKER_00If it's like we're using the weights and we're in that exercise room, and I don't know how to do exercise correctly, or I'm like, oh, I love her gym set, like where'd she get it from? Then I'll go up and I'll be like, Hi, can you help me? Like, you look experienced, or you look cute. Like, can I know where you got your stuff?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But honestly, I was so nervous about going to the gym because I was like, What if people look at me and they're like, You don't you don't belong in the gym, like you don't look at it? Like, but then when you get in the gym, it's like not a lot of people stare at you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's you're you're in your own lane.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, they're focused on their own stuff.
SPEAKER_01I tell my wife all the time all the time, like, because she's cognition of going to the gym, and I'm like, yo, everyone's not really checking other people out. Glances here and there, but yeah, I guess they're not they're like, I'm trying to do this for me, man. Fuck her, fuck him, you know what I'm saying? I'll like I'm gonna do good for myself.
SPEAKER_00I mean, like, I would see my other half in the gym. Like, we were together, but we wouldn't go to the gym together, and like we'd text each other late, and we're like, Oh, just got to the gym, and I'm like, what do you mean I'm at the gym? And then I'll see him across the room, like working out with his friends, and we'll do our own workouts, and by the end of his workout, he'll just like hit me on my head or something.
SPEAKER_01It's like, oh, hello.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but he'll he'll pay attention, and I'm just like, okay, nothing's happening.
SPEAKER_01Girl, girl, girl. Jim no wants us. Um, Lynn, that was fun. Uh, an hour flew by.
