This young, rising culinary star began his career as a cook apprentice, honing his skills abroad, in places such as New York and France before returning to his home country. Chef Gísli showcases traditional Icelandic cuisine with modern techniques, utilizing the surrounding resources of the islands to create his culinary delights. His restaurants are globally recognized, beginning with his flagship restaurant, Slippurrinn, which he established with his family in 2012, followed by 3 more establishments, as well as a cookbook and pop ups around the world where he promotes Icelandic cuisine.
