The Power of No: Reclaiming My Body, My Voice, My Truth

Alexus Mariah Season 3 Episode 6

Gentle TW: In this episode, I talk about moments in my past where I didn’t feel fully in control of my body or safe to say no. Nothing graphic is shared, but I do open up about experiences that involve coercion, shame, and the healing process that followed. If you’re tender right now, feel free to pause or come back when it feels right. Your safety and softness come first.

This episode is for the girls who froze. The ones who didn’t say no, but didn’t say yes either. The ones who blamed themselves, replayed the moment over and over, and convinced themselves it wasn’t “bad enough” to count. The ones who’ve carried silent shame for years.

Today, I’m opening up about the moments I lost my voice. The times I didn’t know I had the right to leave, to say no, to protect my body. I’m sharing the truth I used to hide (even from myself) and what it’s looked like to reclaim my body, my voice, and my sovereignty.

This isn’t just a story of grief. It’s a story of power. Of unlearning silence. Of honoring your nervous system, your boundaries, and your worth.

If you’ve ever questioned your experience, if you’ve ever felt like your trauma didn’t “count,” if you’re on the path of coming back home to your body… this one’s for you.

You are not broken. You are not to blame. And you are not alone.
