Episode 178: Supporting the Spouses and Fire Families with Raquel Lorenzen

In today's episode, you get to meet Raquel Lorenzen. If that name sounds familiar, you may have heard a previous episode with her spouse, JLo! You can listen here if you missed it.

Raquel Lorenzen is blessed to be married to her high school sweetheart, Lt. Justin Lorenzen, also known as “Jlo," for 20 years, and looks forward to each new adventure life brings. They have two amazing sons, Noah and Braxton, and love to support their many passions as they grow into the men they are supposed to be! As a family, the Lorenzens love pretty much everything outdoors!

Raquel has proudly served our Veterans as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for 15 years at the OKC VA Medical Center, and for the past five years, has turned a hobby of photography into a side business.  She is part of a team of spouses that created the first Family Peer Support Team for OKCFD and currently co-coordinates the group. Raquel has a passion for supporting fire families in any way she can, whether it’s just a listening ear, helping find resources they may need, praying for them, or sharing their experiences as a couple, both failures and successes.

So what, now what?!?

Communication is the key, and finding your resources before you need them is critical!
