Supernatural Season 3, Episode 12, Jus in Bello recap 😈 Agent Henriksen finally has the Winchesters in handcuffs, and then an army of demons lays siege to a small-town sheriff's station in Monument, Colorado, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. (The title is Latin for justice in war: the rules of how a war is fought. Fitting.)

Sam and Dean get arrested in a bank, and who strolls in for the takedown? Agent Victor Henriksen (Charles Malik Whitfield), who's been chasing them since Nightshifter. While he's busy arranging their transfer, the lights go out, the phones go dead, and possessed townspeople surround the station. Now the FBI, the local cops, and a sweet, devout secretary named Nancy (Aimee Garcia) have to trust the two most wanted men in America to get them out alive.

Episode Highlights:

  • Henriksen's "Hannibal and his half-wit little brother" line (Sam went to Stanford, sir)
  • Sam sitting up when Henriksen goes too far. You rewound it multiple times
  • Nancy, the rosary-wearing secretary, being terrified of Sam's puppy-dog eyes
  • Dean's "but you didn't shoot the deputy"
  • Ruby's very dark plan, and the very high price tag
  • Nancy's choice (kudos to her)
  • Sam performing an exorcism from memory for the first time
  • The PA-system exorcism (genius)
  • The demons bursting into flames, something the show never did before (or apparently after)
  • A little girl looking for two brothers, and the scariest white eyes we've ever seen

In the lore segment, we dig into Lilith: from Sumerian succubus to Adam's first wife in the Alphabet of Ben Sira, the three angels sent to bring her back, the amulets meant to protect newborns from her, and how she became a feminist icon (hello, Lilith magazine and Lilith Fair).

"I've got a lot to celebrate seeing you two and chains." – Agent Henriksen

"You kinky son of a bitch. We don't swing that way." – Dean Winchester
