Episode 24 - Intrepid x Jack Jarvis: "Winners never quit"
Jack Jarvis is a serving British soldier and the first person to row solo, unsupported from mainland Europe (Portugal) to North America (Miami), covering 4630 miles across 111 days - a route never previously attempted. Jack raised £65K for Braintrust, in honour of grandfather. And never mind the endeavour, Jack should have got a World Record for the immense beard he grew over a period of nearly 4 months at sea.
Only 5 months later Jack ran 250kms across the Atacama desert (Chile) in just 6 days.
Jack has a brilliant podcast - ‘Winners Never Quit’ which is how we met when he interviewed me.
Most recently, Jack has diced with death, narrowly surviving a parachute jump in which his leg became tangled in the deployment line at 1,000ft at 120mph. He was quoted on the BBC news saying “And so my leg’s flapping around, I’m in a lot of pain, my back was facing towards the earth, my leg up in the sky.”
Jack's playful and fearless approach to life is infectious and I know you're going to love him as much as I do.
