- These fat stores serve as a crucial energy reserve to support both the mother and the developing fetus. The growing fetus relies on a steady supply of nutrients, including calories, for its growth and development.
- The body undergoes significant hormonal changes during pregnancy, and fat tissue plays a role in maintaining hormonal balance, which is essential for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.
- fat tissue provides insulation and helps regulate body temperature, aiding in the mother's well-being and fetal development. Fat stores can also facilitate the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, A,D,E,K, which are vital for the mother and baby's health.
