Are you a mom who wants clarity in your purpose? Do you wonder if you're good enough? Are you looking for confidence that lasts?
I’m so excited you’re here! This is your go-to podcast for moms who want to overcome self-doubt by growing closer to God. You’ll learn how to apply the word of God to your daily life so you can feel purpose-FILLED in who you are.
Hi, my name is Caroline—mom, wife, and Jesus follower. I’ve struggled for much of my life to show up confidently in the many roles I play. I got stuck in the comparison mindset, lost sleep because of stress, and felt guilty for wanting to do more than just “be a mom.” Ultimately, I wondered why I wasn’t growing in my faith.
I realized that, in order to have the confidence I wanted, I needed to stop relying on the world for assurance.
I began reading the Bible and making intentional time for God. Focusing on my faith gave me clarity in my purpose, renewed my mind, and restored my confidence in who I am. This was a game changer because this freedom allowed me to nurture my children and help cultivate their faith as well.
If you’re ready to finally have sustainable confidence as a Christian mom—one who leads her kids to have a heart after God, builds a routine that fits your unique lifestyle, and grows in your relationship with God—then this podcast is for you! Grab your Bible, bring your kids along, and let’s grow together.

And honestly, I can say that the changes and growth that's been happening since October of last year is not slowing down. that means there is so much work to be done. This is the year of growth and busy-ness for me. Personally and professionally. Now speaking of busy, I used to pride myself in being busy. And if I'm honest, I used to use my kids as an excuse for my busy-ness because I thought I needed to stay busy in order to look like I was being productive. How many times did I say busy the last 30 seconds that I was talking, because this sounded like it was a lot, but seriously, I thought busy equals productive, equals good things, but what I ended up doing was distracting myself. From the important things, like be present with my family. Working on my spiritual growth and trying to find my purpose in life because at the time I had no idea what on earth? I was supposed to be doing, I even use busy as an excuse to not go after what I wanted. I mean, frankly, I used my kids as an excuse to, and the more I look back. The more, I realize how much time and energy I wasted on struggling my shoulders, because I didn't have all the answers. comparing myself to others and letting self doubt. Stop me from progressing in my goals. So to kick off 2025, we are going to be in scripture that tells the story of Martha and Mary, who are sisters to Lazarus. The three of them are really good friends with Jesus. Some of you might be familiar with this. For some of you, this might be the first time that you are hearing it. And that is okay. Because we're going to take a look at it together. So friend, grab your Bible. If you're able and turn to Luke chapter 10, we are going to be in verse 38 through 42. And as I read it, I'm going to give you some context too. So bear with me, but it's going to give us a glimpse of so many reminders. That's going to help you remove the number one distraction so that you could get clear on your purpose. So Luke chapter, ten marry and Martha reads. Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And so here, they means Jesus and his disciples and the village that they entered was Bethany. This is where Martha lived. So scripture continues and says and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving and she went up to him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone. Tell her that to help me. But the Lord answered her. Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her. And I like how in scripture in the English standard version, necessary is highlighted as. Some manuscripts. Say few things are necessary or only one thing And that's really helpful because that gives you an idea of what you need to focus on and what is important in that moment. I also looked at the king James version in verse 40 says, but Martha was cumberd about much serving. To be cumbered is to be over occupied and too busy. And so I know that this is going to be extremely relatable to you because there are so many things that I know you want to accomplish. but you have a busy life, especially as a mom. You go through the motions and still at the end of the day, you wondering if you've done enough? You wonder if you are enough, and if you are where you're meant to be. You've probably also wondered if you're truly living out your purpose, that God has over your life. But as we read here at Luke, there are so many lessons that can be taken away and applied into your life. As you begin to build confidence through scripture. So the number one distraction that you need to remove is busyness busyness is a distraction. That's why it says here in verse 40 in the English standard version. Martha was distracted with much serving. Distraction is when you are occupied with so much that you don't find time to rest and to get clear on what you're doing and where you're going. Motherhood is such a great example for this, because oftentimes it is used as an excuse for busy-ness almost to the point of complaining. How many times have you used that as an excuse to not show up? Where you said you would be, or would like to be now to be really honest with you. I hear a lot of moms say. They want to grow more in scripture. They want to read more, but they're just so busy with all of the things that comes with being a mom, right. They're taking care of their kids, constantly changing diapers. changing clothes, washing, laundry, cooking, and cleaning up after the kids. its an. endless list of things to do. Now, I'm not saying that these are things that you shouldn't be doing, right? You should not neglect this because it is work after all. But what I am getting out here is to encourage you to reflect if you are making time to sit at the feet of Jesus. And hang onto his words as if he is sitting here right in front of you at your house. If he was sitting with you at your house, would you be like Martha, Or would you hang out with him, be at his feet and listened to his teaching? I think it's really easy for us to say, well, I would love to hang out with Jesus. I would be at his feet. But what are our actions saying? So, yes, we all have work to do whether it's working a job, being a stay-at-home mom, running errands, doing things for your business, cooking, cleaning, laundry, everything, everything that you do is considered work. I really like what Matthew Henry says. In relation to this particular scripture. He says whatever. Cares the Providence of God cast upon us. We must not be cumbered with them. nor be disquieted and perplexed by them. To be disquieted. My friend needs to be worried or to be an easy, we must not be worried about the. Providence. That God cast upon us. We, but it's not be uneasy about them. and perplex just means to be puzzled or to be at a lost. I also liked that he finishes this statement by saying care is good and duty, but cumber is sin and folly I really like this because it serves as a reminder that yes, we still have work to do. But tying it back to what. Jesus said at the end of the verses that we just read. At verse 42, Jesus says, but one thing is necessary. Martha has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her. So are we going to be choosing the good portion? God blesses you with so many things, right? Your beautiful marriage, your beautiful kids. A place for you to live. The place for you to work and all of the things that comes along with it. Right. All of it is still work. But don't be distracted with it and get stuck in a cycle of busy-ness that you become worried and puzzled or lost. How many of you have ever laid down at night before you went to bed? Let out a deep sigh and reflected on your day thinking, is this it? Is this what life is about? And then you reflect and drift off into sleep with feelings. Of exhaustion and worry that you may never be satisfied in life or feeling lost and wondering what more is there to life. I know that you long for a sense of connection and clarity with God. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here. Working on overcoming self doubt by building confidence through scripture. So, how are you going to remove busy-ness? Well, let's take a look at Mary. She not only sat at Jesus's feet, which by the way, also shows that she was eager to learn. She also listened to his teaching. She was not distracted or zoned out and caught every other word that Jesus was saying she was listening. The king James version said. And heard his word meaning She was listening to understand being present mentally to receive all that Jesus delivered. It is such a good thing that you have work. We ought to show up with joy for the work. And that is when we can. Be at peace and fully know that. No matter what we do there's work, but at the same time, we don't have to be stressed out about it. We don't have to be perplexed as Matthew henery says, so we don't have to be cumbered. As king James says, we can take good care and steward. Well, the work that has been set before us. And so as you journal prompt, which I highly recommend, how can you do that today? What are the steps that you can take? And what have you learned at looking at Martha and Marry today? Now I know that this time was so long ago. So as you're trying to grow your faith and build that confidence, It can be hard to relate what we are talking about and reading in scripture to what is happening in your everyday life. because Jesus is not physically here to teach. We cannot physically sit at the feet of Jesus. So what can we do instead? Well, God speaks to us through his word, which is the Bible. And that is why I encourage you to read your Bible. So that you can't be at the feet of Jesus. And learn as you read scripture. The more that you read with readiness and intention to receive, like Marry did. The more, you will come to know Christ and the more clarity you will get on your purpose. So friend remove the busy-ness. That is the number one distraction that is keeping you from getting clarity on your purpose. Stop getting distracted with the work or worrying about what's next and letting that perfectionist mindset rule over you. Don't let self doubt stop you from. Reading the word from growing and gaining clarity on your purpose. Find the time to rest and sit at the feet of Jesus and be ready to receive what the Lord is saying to through the Bible. It will help you get clarity on your purpose. Don't use being a mom. And all that comes with it as an excuse for your busy-ness. Yes, there is work that needs to be done. You do have to work, but you don't have to be distracted. You don't have to be cumbered. You can steward. Well, The task that has been set before you. And honestly, when you read scripture, there's just so much truth and light that is going to be revealed to you. As long as you come to scripture, ready to receive the good and awesome news and the good at awesome teaching that it has for you. Now I know this has a short episode. I intended it to keep it that way because it is new year's day after all. And I really want you to spend time with your family. I also hope that you take this and apply it into your 2025 as the days carry on. Do not get distracted with the busy-ness that is coming. You're probably already in the season of busy-ness my friend. But don't get distracted. I would hope. That this episode encouraged you to reflect on how you are approaching your time with God. I know that it can be so much easier said than done given the fact that life just happens, that we can't control a lot of the things. And it is going to take effort for you to. Make the time to read scripture, but What can you change in your daily life? That can help you carve out just a little bit of time to be with God, to read his word, to be at the feet of Jesus. I know it's so much easier said than done, but my friend, you can do hard things.
