Hi, I’m Caroline Thao—Jesus follower, wife, and mom who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by expectations that stem from a perfectionist mindset. It led me to try to control everything—and when I failed, I felt the heavy weight of mom guilt. For years, I second-guessed everything: my parenting, my faith, my dreams. I felt torn between being fully present with my kids and pursuing the passions God placed on my heart. Worst of all, I believed the lie that I had to choose one or the other—until I learned to forgive myself so I could finally show up as the mom I wanted to be.
And here’s the good news: you don’t have to live stuck in guilt or strive to be a “perfect” mom.
Through scripture, intentional habits, and faith-filled mindset shifts, I discovered how to let go of guilt and live like the mom God created me to be—not the one guilt kept me stuck as. And now, I want to help you do the same.
Each episode will give you biblical encouragement, practical tools, and simple habits to:
- Break free from mom guilt and the perfectionist mindset that leaves you feeling stuck.
- Walk in confidence in all the roles God has entrusted you without needing to do it all.
- Lead your children with grace, love, and patience—not pressure.
- Finally becoming the mom you’ve always envisioned yourself to be.
So if you’re ready to stop running on empty and start thriving in your motherhood journey, you’re in the right place. Grab your Bible, invite the Holy Spirit in, and let’s walk this journey together—one peaceful step at a time.

I'm excited to connect with you! Remember, you can do hard things!
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me"- Philippians 4:13
Hey mama. I know your summer is probably in full swing. Maybe you're soaking up the moments or maybe you are already feeling a little worn out from trying to make it magical for everyone else either way. I want you to know that something incredibly fun and special is coming your way. Next week I'm kicking off a brand new summer confidence series right here on the podcast, and trust me, it's not what you're thinking. This isn't about spa days or feel good outfits. It's a space where we'll give ourselves permission to release perfection, to let go of the pressure that you have to quote unquote, love your body's every second. And to rethink the idea, the summer has to be packed and picture perfect to be meaningful because let's be honest. When you're struggling to feel confident in that swimsuit, stressed, because your plans keep falling apart or silently wondering why you can't seem to enjoy summer as much as you hoped you're not alone and underneath all of it, you might just be carrying that heavy weight of mom guilt, quietly whispering that you're falling short again. So take a deep breath, mama. You don't need to fix yourself before you show up. And you know, I have been really wanting to do a series like this, especially after we had planned to kick off summer with a fun family trip to Great Wolf Lodge. And it was supposed to be the highlight of the first week after school ended as a celebratory moment for such a great school year. But then things didn't go according to plan. My husband had to leave for. Work. So he was gone for a week and then when he came back he had to work through the entire weekend. So essentially he was gone for another week. And by the time we realized how much time had actually passed, three weeks had flown by and our trip had not happened. So we finally booked the one night stay, and as the day got closer, I started stressing not about the logistics of this trip, but about how I felt in my body. I looked at my swimsuits and when I put them on, I felt uncomfortable and it almost was an instantaneous effect. My swimsuits were not anything extravagant either. They were just simple, one piece swimsuits, and yet I still felt incredibly uncomfortable in them for some reason. So I thought about not packing it, but I also knew that I did not want to sit on the sidelines. I wanted to create memories with my kids as well. Since this was a trip that they had been looking forward to, I could have gone without a great Wolf Lodge trip. But they really wanted to do something different this year and they were excited about that. So I didn't wanna watch them be excited from the sideline. I wanted to be present with them, but as it had turned out, my insecurity and my swimsuit was not even the biggest challenge because what actually happened on that trip reminded me that no matter how well you try to plan things, life has a way of throwing you curve balls. And it got me thinking summer is supposed to be the season that we look forward to as a family, but sometimes the pressure to make it magical, to feel good in our clothes and to not quote unquote waste the time can sneak up on us. And that's why I am so glad you're here because this Summer Confidence Series is about making space for honesty, for letting go of the pressure to do it all perfectly, and finding joy in the moments that don't go as planned, which can be a lot harder than it seems, But it can also serve as a pivotal moment to create a new memory or even an inside joke within the family. So with the hustle and bustle of vacations, or the unexpected, throwing off your rhythm or throwing off your routine, mama, I wanna leave you with a mini challenge that is going to be so impactful in your day, and you can start right now. And that is to let something be easy today. So whether that's ordering, takeout, or skipping the dishes. Or wearing the same outfit two days in a row, because let's be honest, we all have done that At some point, I want you to choose ease on purpose because it's one small way to remind yourself that rest gets to be a part of your summer. So make sure you're following the show by tapping on that plus button. It usually says following, or it'll say plus and then the word following. That way you don't miss out when the first episode drops next week. And if you want a little extra support along the way, come join my free online community. The link to that is going to be in the show notes. You'll get updates when new episodes go live, and even more encouragement as you keep breaking through. Mom guilt. Alright, mama. I hope that I see you next week or in my community. Until then, no matter how crazy Summer gets for you, just remember that you can do hard things.
