I think we're witnessing one of the biggest shifts in family structure in modern history.

More women are choosing motherhood before marriage (or without marriage altogether) not because they've given up on love, but because they've stopped seeing romantic partnership as a prerequisite for building a family.

For generations, women were told there was only one acceptable order:

1) Find a partner.
2) Get married.
3) Then have children.

But what happens when you're ready for motherhood long before you've found the right person? What happens when the desire to build a family becomes stronger than the desire to keep waiting?

The women I speak to every day aren't anti-love.
They aren't anti-marriage.
They aren't anti-men.

They're simply asking a question that previous generations rarely felt they had permission to ask:

"What if I don't have to wait?"

The conversation around family, motherhood, partnership, and female autonomy is changing rapidly. And whether people agree with it or not, it's a shift worth paying attention to.
