"Your thoughts"

In this mini episode, I’m taking a moment before my summer pause to share a little more about who I am, why I started Caffeine & Clarity, and how this podcast became something different than I originally imagined.
What began as a two-woman conversation became a monologue — but it was never meant to feel one-sided.
This episode is an invitation to become the second person in the conversation.

Since I'm going to be taking some time off for this summer, I thought I should tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a single mom with a full-time job, two startup companies, and a side hustle. One is this podcast. The other is helping people of all ages with their skin, mainly teenagers with acne. My side hustle, well, that's flipping furniture, and truly that's just for fun and a little extra cash. What can I say? I have an array of interests. I don't say this for sympathy. I say it because it's a fact. After my divorce, I knew things were gonna be tight. That was a choice, and that choice had a consequence. So here I am making the best present for myself and my daughter. And somewhere inside all of that, caffeine and clarity was born. Originally, this podcast was supposed to be with a good friend of mine. It was meant to be a two-woman show where we discuss topics the way we do it in real life. Unfortunately, she began a long divorce that prevented her from having the headspace and time that is required to dedicate to a podcast. After waiting a year, give or take a few months, and her divorce was still ongoing, I decided to go ahead and begin this journey alone, with the hope that one day she'll join me. So the two-woman show became a monologue. But in a way, it still feels like a conversation. The topics discussed here are ones that would have fallen into our conversations or ones we've experienced. They're the kind of things you talk through when you're trying to understand yourself, your relationships, your choices, your patterns, and the moments that make you stop and think, wait, why did that affect me so much? And now you're the second person in the conversation. At least that's how I'd like you to feel. I'd like for you to participate in this. What part can you contribute? Where are you in this space? What topics would you like to talk about? Because this podcast was meant to feel like the kind of conversation that helps something finally make sense. So while I take a little time this summer to breathe, regroup, and tend to the other parts of my life, I'd still love for you to stay close to the conversation. Go back and listen to an episode you may have missed. Share one that made you think. Send me a topic, a question, or a moment you're trying to make sense of. Because caffeine and clarity was never meant to be me just talking into the air. It was meant to feel like a conversation. And if something here has ever made you pause, reflect, or feel a little less alone, then I hope you'll come back when I do. Until then, take care of yourself, and as always, give yourself enough room to find the clarity.
