On today's episode, we're back talking about marketing and I'm going to share some copywriting tips which will make a massive difference to your marketing performance and hopefully help you sign up more people, sell more products and make more money, because that's the goal of any business make money. Okay, let's jump into it Now.

Speaker 2:

You've probably heard this from a million different people and from a million different places. Customers buy because of emotion and then justify their decision with logic. This is true, it's really true, and this is why you've heard it from so many different places. But when was the last time you really leaned into this while writing a sales email, creating an ad or crafting any other marketing material? You probably don't do it that often, or if you do it, it isn't fully intentional. Going forward, I seriously encourage you to make some slight changes to your marketing and watch how much better everything performs.

Speaker 2:

The last few months in BusterBox have been the best in the whole existence of the business, and what I'm about to share is part of the reason I spent some time a while back writing all the emotional and logical triggers that make somebody want to sign up for our box. I now make sure I include some of these triggers in all of our marketing material. The results have been pretty crazy and we're now getting more subscribers signed up to our box than ever before. One email I wrote with these triggers got 500 new subscribers signed up to our box than ever before. One email I wrote with these triggers got 500 new subscribers signed up alone. Now let me explain how this works and how you can apply it to your subscription box business. Okay, emotional triggers. Like I mentioned, people purchase through emotion and then justify with logic. So we're going to start with the emotional side of things. Every successful subscription box and product has emotional triggers that make people buy. If you don't know what they are for your box, you need to spend some time doing some research and testing different things until you figure out what works best.

Speaker 2:

Buster box is obviously a dog toy and treat box, so all of the emotional triggers are centered around making the dog happy. We all know that if you own a dog, you will do anything to keep them happy and healthy, so for us, we lean into that angle a lot with our marketing. Here is some copy we've used in ads, emails and other marketing material which shows exactly what I mean. Okay, this will make your dog very happy and that's all that matters. It feels really good spoiling your dog. Your dog brings so much joy into your house and doesn't ask for much in return. We have made thousands of dogs happy. Now we want to do the same for your dog. A happy dog means a happy home. Let us help you make that happen. When we highlight how our box will make the customer's dog very happy, it triggers a emotional response in the customer's brain and makes them want to sign up to our box, because everybody who owns a dog wants to make them happy. This is a very powerful marketing concept and I would highly recommend doing the same in your business if you seriously want to increase conversions. No matter what subscription box business you have, there will be emotional triggers which will make your customers want to sign up. Here are some examples.

Speaker 2:

If you had a self-care box all about putting yourself first and looking after yourself If you don't make time for yourself, how can you look after anybody else? A kids box it's all about making the kid happy, educating the kid being the best parent possible. A health or a gym box. This will help you get in shape. Look after your health. Think how much better you will feel and look in six months when you use this box to help you get fit. Book reading box. Escape the stress of everyday life and immerse yourself in magical stories delivered to your door each month. Rediscover the joy of me time with your favorite genre food meal prep box. Bring your family together over delicious, stress-free meals cooked by you without the hassle. Create lasting memories, one bite at a time.

Speaker 2:

Now, these are just some simple examples to demonstrate my point. I would highly recommend spending some time on this and testing different emotional triggers until you find the ones that work the best. Once you find the core ones that work the best, you can repurpose them repeatedly in your marketing by spinning them in different ways. As you can see from my examples above, our core trigger is making the dog happy, but we have many different ways of saying that in our marketing. To keep things fresh, we're not just repeating the same thing over and over. Now. I regularly update a Word document with all of this stuff and then pull from it when I'm putting together some marketing assets. I recommend you do the same thing. It will make your marketing work so much better.

Speaker 2:

Okay, moving on Logical triggers. As I mentioned above, people buy from emotions and then justify with logic. So if you have very powerful emotional triggers mixed with a logical reason to buy your box, you are going to send your conversion rate through the roof. Now let me share some logical triggers that work really well in BusterBox. Number one you get high quality toys and treats for a fraction of the price you'd pay in the pet shop. Number two BusterBox saves time compared to visiting the pet shop. Number three everything is hand-picked by experts, ensuring your dog gets the best. Number four never worry about running out of toys or treats again. Buster box is delivered straight to your door every month. Number five our treats are made with all natural ingredients, ensuring your dog's safety and health. And number six our toys are durable and safe for your dog, tested to withstand hours of play. As you can see, these are all solid and logical reasons why somebody would sign up to BusterBox.

Speaker 2:

Now, any successful subscription box business is going to have its own logical reasons why somebody is going to sign up. Your job as a marketer slash subscription box owner is identify yours and then use them very regularly in your marketing. Here are some examples from other subscription box niches. Self-care box receive luxury self-care items every month for less than you'd pay in stores. Number two kids box keeps kids entertained for hours while helping them learn and grow. Number three health gym box save time shopping for fitness products everything you need in one box. Number four book reading box convenient monthly delivery so you never run out of great reads. Number five food meal prep box cost effective and healthier than takeout cooked in your own kitchen.

Speaker 2:

These are some simple logical triggers to demonstrate my point. Every single successful subscription box business is going to have their own triggers. Again, your job as a marketer slash subscription box owner is identify yours and use them regularly in your marketing. I would recommend following the same process as your emotional triggers and keeping record of all of this stuff in a Word document which you can revert back to whenever you're creating marketing materials. Now, going forward into 2025 and beyond, I highly recommend using emotional and logical triggers in your marketing. I promise it will make a serious difference to your marketing. Now, if you really want to create magic and send your conversions through the roof, I would recommend doing all of this in your marketing Emotional triggers, logical triggers, amazing offer, urgency and scarcity. And social proof. When you mix those five elements with a really good product, really good things will happen for your business and you'll be able to drive a crazy amount of signups to your box.
