Why Prophecy Is For Everyone

Uh, today we want to talk about prophecy. And this message or this episode is entitled, Your Sons and Your Daughters Shall Prophesy. Uh, talk to me a little bit about the title, uh, what it means to you, what you think about your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.

I think that this is a scripture that a lot, if you've been saved for a little bit of time, you've been going to church, you've probably heard this scripture, right? It's we say it a lot because it's so encouraging, it's so good, we love it. Um, but I still don't think we completely understand what that means, that your sons and daughters shall prophesy. So when we think about the word prophecy, it's like it's set aside for a very special time. And I think it's like only prophets can prophesy. So I'm not a prophet, so that doesn't pertain to me.

And I don't think that's true. That's not what the Bible says.

So, what is the difference between a prophet and prophecy?

Tabatha Claytor 1:51

Think a prophet is a a gift from God, it is an office given by God. You cannot make yourself a prophet. God calls you to be a prophet.

Ken Claytor 2:01

So in Ephesians chapter four, it talks about the fivefold ministry gifts. So we have the apostle, we have the prophet, we have the evangelist, we have the teacher, and we have the uh the pastor. Yes. And so the fivefold ministry gifts for me is what I call the New Testament governing arm of God. Um, Jesus was all. He was the apostle, he was the prophet, he was the evangelist. So now what he does is that he assigns men and women to fulfill these particular offices, which are divine graces operating on his behalf in the earth, so to say. So what you're saying is that we don't call ourselves to these offices. Right. Um, God calls us to the offices, and a man will affirm it. You know what I'm saying? We don't just go on the internet now and print out I'm a prophet or I'm a teacher. We need to have you, we don't want to be the wint, we want to be the scent. You know, we got too much unsanctioned ministry happening nowadays. Yeah. People that just go online and get themselves in ordination and just start doing whatever, but they have, you know, one of the things that's interesting in the New Testament is God told um leader, elder leaders to separate from me Saul and Barnabas to the work that I've called them to. So there was a time of fasting and praying, and then there was a laying on of hands, which represented a commissioning to set them apart. But anyway, coming back to the official, so a prophet is part of the fivefold ministry gifts.

Tabatha Claytor 3:16

Yes, part of the fivefold ministry gifts. And those gifts were given to the church. Yeah, they weren't just given to be outside of the church and operate outside of the church, they were given to the church. They were given so that we can be they can equip the saints. And I think one of the prophets' main things right now in the New Testament, in the in the church era, is to teach others, teach other believers how to what? How to hear from God and how to declare what he says. Okay. And so that's what we do as God's prophetic people.

Right. So this is an interesting thing. Uh I I got so many questions about this because you're a very prophetic person, and we have a prophetic family, we have a prophetic church, and I believe personally that every born-again believer should be operating in the prophetic. But there's also a war against the prophetic because then you have people that get weird with it. I heard about situations when people getting online and going on people's Facebook trying to prophesy certain things, and it almost gives it a bad rap, but you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Yeah. So we have the office of a prophet, but then we have like, let's just call it simple prophecy, right? Or the spirit of prophecy, which we all can operate in. So the office of the prophet would be a five-fold ministry gift that you are sanctioned into to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. Talk to me. What is the spirit of prophecy?

Um, I I think the spirit of prophecy is the Holy Spirit, right? Uh now, when the Bible also talks about um the filling of the Holy Spirit. So when we go back to the day of Pentecost, when we go back to the day where Jesus gave his disciples, his followers, a command, instructions, stay here and wait for the promise of the Father. The promise of the Father was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And we know that's what happened that day. The Holy Spirit came into the room like the sound of a mighty rushing wind, and everyone in the room was filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking with tongues of fire. And so that is the, you know, I think that is the spirit of prophecy when the when we receive the Holy Spirit is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And so if you are a born-again believer, you've confessed Jesus as Lord, He is the Lord of your life, that's

Prophet Office Versus Prophetic Gift

Tabatha Claytor 5:24

salvation, and you've been baptized with the Holy Spirit, according to the Bible, we now can prophesy.

Ken Claytor 5:31

Okay, break that down for me because you say that's the spirit of prophecy. I'm not sure that I followed you. So the baptism of the Holy Spirit isn't the spirit of prophecy.

So the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you receive supernatural power from on high that enables you to prophesy. Yes.

Tabatha Claytor 5:45

I would I would, you know, and so yeah, I don't I don't know what you're so tell me what what is the spirit of prophecy.

Ken Claytor 5:51

Well, the spirit of prophecy would just be the anointing that every believer has to forthell a foretell.

Tabatha Claytor 5:59

Yeah.

Ken Claytor 6:00

That's that it's so so if you break it down and say, what does a prophet do? Well, a prophet is an office. Yeah. The spirit of prophecy is the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that allows sons and daughters to prophesy. Yes. So to me, then then you have to define, okay, what is prophecy according to that. Yes. So what you're taking is Joel 228. It says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Yeah. All right, let's just stop there for a moment because it's your sons and daughters. Talk to me about that.

Tabatha Claytor 6:29

Yeah, your sons and daughters. I love what the Bible does not say. It doesn't say your prophets shall prophesy, or your pastors shall prophesy, or these certain people. It says sons and daughters. Well, who are the sons and daughters? It's every person, you know, that believes in Jesus. We are adopted into his family.

Ken Claytor 6:44

I think that's an interesting passage as well, because, you know, there's this debate, and I I fall on the side that um of how God could use women. Yeah. And I fall on the side of I see women deaconesses and prophetesses in the Bible. Um, there was a woman apostle named uh Junia, I believe. Um a man and his wife is heirs together to the grace of life. Everyone knows. Now there's other people that fall differently because they take what the apostle Paul said and they create like a universal thing. But even if you came back to this one, you know that the scripture doesn't mean like women could never speak in the church because he says, your sons and your daughters, not just your sons shall prophesy, your sons and your daughters. And your daughters. I just feel like we're living in a time where the spirit of religion would love to muzzle half of humanity. But we need every single believer, man, women, boy, girl, to prophesy because prophecy is so powerful. And so one of the things, go going back to what you said on the day of Pentecost, so they spoke in other tongues, tongues of fire, but it also said, and they also prophesy. Yes. And so um there's a scripture that says that we should desire to prophesy. And it's almost like there's this thing of like people are like, Well, I don't know if I want to do that. What do you mean? We should all desire that. Yeah. Meaning that we should, that should be activated in us. It should be something that we want to do. Right. And there's real benefits um with it. What do you think about?

Tabatha Claytor 8:04

Yeah, I think that I mean, I think we will desire to prophesy when we understand what it really is. Okay. And so if we think that prophecy is just saying what God says and getting up and speaking to other people and you're prophesying to other people, you might keep your mouth shut because you're like, oh, well, I'm not a prophet, I'm not going to do that. That is a part of prophecy, but prophecy is also something else. And so we know prophecy as foretelling and forthelling. Foretelling meaning to know the future.

Ken Claytor 8:33

So not just to know it, but also to speak it. Speak it, yes. Because prophecy is a vocal gift, it will fall in the vocal gift category. Okay, go ahead.

Tabatha Claytor 8:42

And so, like the the Jesus is coming again. That is a prophecy. It's a knowing the future. It is going to happen, period. We know that. But then prophecy is also a forthelling where you cause the future. Like God said, let there be light, and there was light. There is a way that we can speak to partner with God to cause the future. And we see that so many times in scripture.

Ken Claytor 9:06

Well, that's a tough one for some to kind of wrap their head around because it would go into theology of dominion and authority and understanding your identity in Christ and the authority that He's given us to be able to forthell.

Yes.

Ken Claytor 9:23

But it's very, very biblical. It's very, very, very biblical. One of the examples that comes to mind with a forthelling would be Ezekiel. We'll talk about that.

Tabatha Claytor 9:32

Yeah. Ezekiel chapter 37. God gives Ezekiel a vision. He takes God in a vision to a valley of dry bones. God takes to a valley of dry bones. This is um human skeletons. And God tells Ezekiel to speak to the dry bones so that they may live again. And so Ezekiel begins to speak, and the bot and the Bible tells how the flesh comes onto the bones and they become to form like human beings again, but there was still no breath in their lungs. And so then God tells Ezekiel, prophesy again. Right. Ezekiel prophesies and breath comes into their lungs, and the Bible says it's like a vast, mighty army that rises up and they're all living again. Now, what was that? It was God, the Heavenly Father, taking Ezekiel, his son, and teaching him, this is how you

Pentecost And The Spirit’s Power

prophesy. This do what I would do. I would speak life into dead situations. And I think that is a wonderful example, a powerful example for us, his sons and daughters, to prophesy. Not to just look out and say, whoa, it's dark out here. What do we do about this? No, you look out into the dark and you prophesy, let there be light.

Ken Claytor 10:45

You look out into sickness and you say, healing, come forth in the mighty name of Jesus. You look out into a bad marriage and relationship and say that there is love in our home. You look out into a child who is not acting right in their wayward and declare that they will be a man or a woman of God. There's so much power and authority in our words, and it's not like blab it and grab it kind of stuff. This is very biblical. You know, the Bible says that life and death is in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof. And I think sometimes we don't understand the mass weapon that we have in our mouth. You know, the scripture in James says that um blessings and curses shouldn't come out of the same cistern. And so I don't use profanity, and it's not because I'm holier than thou, I just understand the power of my words. And um, I don't want to bl curse what I should be blessing. Um the Bible talks about how your tongue is the pen of a ready writer. So you can actually write your future based upon a lot of what you say. There's a scripture over in, I think it's Mark, it says that you shall have whatever you say. And he looks to the mountains and he says, If you say to the mountain, be thou removed and be cast into the sea, don't doubt on your heart, but believe those things you say shall come to pass. You can have whatever you say. And I realize that there are some believers that I don't know if they believe the Bible, but I do. I believe it. I don't believe that I can go out into the parking lot and just say, car, come, and it falls out of the sky or something like that. But I do believe Jesus said it this way, my words are spirit and life. And so if you're ever listening to like ungodly music, ungodly movies, there is a spirit behind the words coming through the screen. Just like there's a spirit of faith that's being released in the words. The words are not just their spirit, they're life. And so when I release words, I remember um the prince of Persia with being withstood. There was a spiritual battle that was going on in the book of Daniel. And the Bible talks about how the angel of the Lord shows up 21 days later to Daniel and says, Lo, I've come for your words. We have power in our words.

Tabatha Claytor 12:42

So much power in what we say. And I love I love the rip the scripture that you reference. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. And those who love it will eat its fruit. Like I always look at that, like, what does that mean? That means if I understand the word of God, if I understand the principles of God and how he put laws into the earth of seed, time, and harvest. I look at words as like seeds. Like you can plant seeds that will give you a bad harvest or seeds that will give you a good harvest. Now I love God and I love his principles. So I'm going to set myself to always plant good seeds. I'm going to set myself to always speak good words. So I want to speak life into bad situations. If I see something negative going on, I'm going to speak peace and healing and health into this situation. I'm not going to open up if it, if it, if something happens and I feel like, mm, that doesn't look good. If I don't have anything good to say, shut your mouth, girl. Don't even say that.

Ken Claytor 13:38

Yeah, it's the difference between talking about the problem versus talking about the promise. And I do know people and I love them, but they always got the problem on their mouth.

Yeah.

Ken Claytor 13:47

Oh, my glaucoma. Oh, my arthritis. Oh, I can never get a break. You know why you can never get a break? Because that's all you talk about all the time is you can't get a break. And the and the man doing this to you and the man doing, but I know, I know the man who made the man into it. That's right. You're going to focus on the promise. You're going to focus on the problem, and what you focus on expands. Um, give me some, let's make it like real practical. So we kind of just jumped into this because we're I'm excited about it. Okay. But I want our audience to know that this right here is like real, real applaque applicable to your life. Like, so you prophesying over your business, you prophesying over your marriage, you prophesying over your kids. Yeah. You prophesying over the nation. You prophesying. It's time for sons and daughters to prophesy. So can you just help me? Like, do you have any practical examples of what you've done before when it comes to prophesying or what you would encourage somebody else to do?

Tabatha Claytor 14:36

Yeah, I do. You know, I tell people, look, don't wait till you come to church to prophesy. You don't have to wait till you come to church to start speaking and declaring and, you know, praying over people. No, you do that in your home. I know with our children, you know, I would prophesy over our children while they were still in the womb, you know. Like we don't have grandkids yet, but I'm prophesying in the name of Jesus that they will follow after God and chase after God, you know. I prophesy over my kids when I put them to bed at night in the morning before they hit the school bus. I'm prophesying over them because I understand the power of the words that I say. And so we can do this in every day in our lives.

Foretelling And Forthtelling Explained

Tabatha Claytor 15:12

If I get a bad doctor report in the name of Jesus, I declare healing. What is that? I am speaking the word of God. Instead of aligning myself with what the world says, or instead of aligning myself in my in what I see, I'm going to align myself with what heaven says and what God's word says, because um, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In heaven there's no sickness. So I'm going to align myself with heaven and I'm going to declare by the stripes of Jesus I am healed. That's the spirit of prophecy.

Ken Claytor 15:44

Yeah, that's so good. So let me break it down just to make sure that everybody's with us. So with prophecy, you have a foretelling, okay, that's speaking about the future. Um, that's okay, we believe Jesus is coming back, or um, we believe this is going to happen and this person is going to be the president next, etc. etc. That's a fourth uh for a foretelling. But the part that a lot of people miss, and then we kind of put that to the side for a second, is the forthelling. And that's really what we're majoring on here. The ability to uh create the future, like Ezekiel, the the the ability to use the power of your words to kind of proclaim God's will into the matter. So to be able to do that, you first have to have a relationship with the word of God. Yes, because you're basically prophesying what he said in his words. Yes. Or the prophetic insight that God's given you, you are speaking that, so to say. And so that's you know what we're talking about. Now I remember when you were battling depression, um, you did the same thing. It was a level. Can you can you tell us that?

Tabatha Claytor 16:52

Absolutely. Uh so you know, I was depressed for 12 years and I got saved. And um, you know, uh God did a miraculous thing when I got saved. He he he he delivered me from the spirit of suicide, miraculous at salvation. You know, um, so I had been sexually abused, physically abused, um, verbally abused. There's this really hard childhood coming up. I lost my dad, I lost my grandmother. Um, and I just really struggled with suicide, suicidal thoughts, and I got saved. Someone came to my door, knocked on my door, opened up the door, I accept Jesus, I get saved. But like in that from that moment, I never had another suicidal thought. Like I I wanted to live, you know, and it it's just amazing what God said.

Ken Claytor 17:35

That's a miracle. That's a miracle. And it's good for people to hear that that miracle is possible. Yes. Because some people feel like, well, this is something I have to deal with all my life.

Yeah.

Ken Claytor 17:44

And God took it away from me. Um, that's amazing. That's amazing. Now, I will say this as a side note, you're more than your thoughts. Absolutely. You know, I've had suicidal thoughts um even not long ago, but I look at that as the plan of the enemy against my life, and I di I differentiate between what's what's God's thoughts, what's my thoughts, and what the enemy's thoughts. Yes, yes. So even now, it doesn't matter if it was like last night, if you're having a suicide, oh, that ain't my thought. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. I shall live and not die.

Tabatha Claytor 18:12

Absolutely.

Ken Claytor 18:12

But God did a miracle with you. He did a miracle, took away your those thoughts altogether. That's amazing.

Tabatha Claytor 18:17

And I I think I I want to speak this into um the the suicidal thoughts, is that you know, there's there's times when you can have suicidal thoughts like, you know, like you might have a suicidal thought and you're like, oh, that's the thought of the enemy. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. I will live and not die. I love my life, God loves me. You know, that's a that's a thought. But then there's the spirit of suicide, and that's what I was dealing with. And people have to know the difference. When you just have a thought that's a uh, you know, a thought of the enemy, you know, and you you cast it down to, and then when you are tested with a spirit of suicide, and that's what I was delivered from. It was something heavy, it was something that weighed on me. The Bible says that the battle's not against flesh and blood, but powers and principalities. Like this was a spiritual situation that I was dealing with. And I would encourage anyone who's dealing with suicidal thoughts, heavy suicidal thoughts, and you feel like, man, this is a big problem. You speak to the spirit of suicide and you command it to leave your life in the name of Jesus. And um, it will, it must flee. The Bible says the devil will flee.

Ken Claytor 19:17

And we're always um big on Jesus and therapy. I mean, if this is something that's been prolonged, find yourself a good anointed Christian counselor,

Ezekiel’s Dry Bones And Speaking Life

Ken Claytor 19:26

do the natural and the spiritual. But I want you to tell me your finish your story. So what happened?

Tabatha Claytor 19:31

And so I'm I'm delivered from the spirit of suicide. I I feel at salvation. At salvation. I feel an oomph, like I want to live life, uh, but I could not get over depression. I still struggled with depression for another two years after salvation. And so what changed me was that it's not that I got born again. I had Jesus with me, but I didn't have the tools. I joined church and I started learning the word of God. Like I actually started reading my Bible for the first time as a Christian. I learned that God's a healer. And um, I learned that, you know, I have authority and power.

Ken Claytor 20:06

What did that look like? That was it an everyday thing where you were just going and you were opening up the Bible and were you looking for certain things or yes.

Tabatha Claytor 20:13

I went into the Bible and I looked up everything that talked about healing. I wrote down all of the scriptures on healing because I needed to be healed from depression. And then I also at the same time I looked up scriptures on identity because I didn't know who I was in Christ. I had to rebuild who I was as a child of God.

Ken Claytor 20:33

I think that that foundation is missing in so many people that they have not yet found their identity in Christ. They find their identity in their race, the color of their skin, they find their identity and how much money they have, they find their identity in their children, they find their identity and their sexuality. You gotta find your identity in Jesus and in Jesus alone, and that's what you were doing. Now that seems intense. Like I I don't think that people today they study the Bible like a scholar student diving into the word of God, but it feels like, and if I remember correctly, it was like you're going after what did God say in like, okay, get in every scripture.

Tabatha Claytor 21:10

Yes, because I tried everything else. Okay. I was on medicine, heavily medicated with antidepressants. I went to all kinds of counseling and therapy and group therapy. I tried everything. And so I said, if I tried the world's way like that, this is the word of God that's promising me healing. Let me get in here and let me stand on the word of God and let's see what God can do in my life. And that's exactly what I did. And so I did this. I would stand in front of a mirror and I would quote scriptures over my life. The thing was is that I wasn't actually just standing and quoting scripture. First of all, it was the word of God that I was declaring. The word of God is alive and active and sharper than any two or edged sword, right? These are seeds that I was sowing into my life. I was declaring, I was prophesying into my future. Um That I was going to be healed. And so I did that day after day after day.

Ken Claytor 22:04

Give me an example. Like what would you say?

Tabatha Claytor 22:06

I would say, you know, Tabitha, by the stripes of Jesus, you are healed. Tabitha, he was wounded for your transgressions, bruised for your iniquities. The chastisement of his peace was upon you, and with his stripes, you are healed. Now, and then I would speak to the spirit of depression. In the name of Jesus, I command you, spirit of depression, to loose me. Leave my life in the name of Jesus. Every tormenting spirit, I command you to go now in the name of Jesus. And I did that day after day. I was gaining, the more I said it, the more confidence, the more I knew it, the more authority that I would be able to walk in. One day I came downstairs just like I normally would, but I felt different that day. I felt something happening in my body. And with my spiritual eyes, it's like I could see a shadow lifting off of my body. And I watched that shadow move through our living room. I don't know if you remember our townhome back then, move through our living room and exit outside of our living room wall. That was the spirit of depression. Again, we battle not against flesh and blood, but power and principality. That was the spirit of depression leaving my life. And that was 24 years ago, and I'm still free.

Ken Claytor 23:19

24 years. 24 years ago. 24 years. See, sometimes you have a 12-step program and we we we applaud that. Yes. And we need that sometimes, but sometimes you need one step. You need Jesus to step in and deliver you from bondage. And that's what happened. But it was not

Words As Seeds And Faith Declarations

Ken Claytor 23:36

without your participation, it feels like you were prophesying I am the healed of God. I am set free from depression. I am not who they say I am. I am who you say I am. I just feel like there's somebody who's watching this, and you got to get aggressive again. You got to get aggressive and the violent take it by force. There are some things that the devil has stolen from you and your family that you have a right to, but you got to go get it back. And you got to break down that spirit of poverty and those poverty mindset and that scarcity mentality and stand on the word of God and prophesy over your future. Yeah. That's the power of prophecy, man. It is really we got so many stories that we could tell you of buildings that they said we didn't qualify for, but we prophesied over the building. We have children that was hard to conceive, but we prophesied over your womb. We can go through story after story about. And now we're in five um five five campuses and four cities and two different nations with thousands of people coming. They don't know that they were prophesied that they will come into that reality.

Tabatha Claytor 24:42

Yeah, and you know, so so we called this his sons and daughters shall prophesy. And I think the reason why you are able to confidently, you know, um speak in and prophesy the will of God is because you know that you're a son. Yeah. I know that I'm a daughter of God. And so the Bible says that we've been created in his image and in his likeness, that we are a spirit, you know, we are spirit beings. And God speaks in Genesis 1:1. He spoke light, he spoke into the darkness, he spoke and set boundaries to the ocean and the dry land. He spoke things into existence. And the more we can understand that we are like God in his image and in his likeness, we will begin to speak and expect the good things to happen. Jesus did the same thing if we look at the life of Jesus.

Ken Claytor 25:28

Well, you just got to know whose family you're in. You must somewhat hear that as heresy. I hear it as sonship and daughtership. It just depends on your amount of people.

Tabatha Claytor 25:36

No, it doesn't say that I am not God. I am like God.

I'm made in the image and likeness of God.

I bow down to God, I worship God.

Ken Claytor 25:44

Well, check this out. So Joel, Joel 2 and 28, it says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. It is an Old Testament um play. Now in Acts chapter 2, the New Testament's now quoting the Old Testament. You know it's when scripture is quoting Scriptures. It says, In the last days, God said, I'll pour out my spirit on all people. Um, so it wasn't just an Old Testament thing. This is a New Testament reality. And so to me, we have this expectation that we can get up every day and say, Thank you, Lord, that you're pouring out your spirit upon all people. And I'm one of those sons and daughters that's about to prophesy. First Corinthians 14, 3 says, The one who prophesies speaks to people for the strengthening, encouragement, and comfort, for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort. And I think that's very important because I hear some people they prophesy like this doom and gloom.

Tabatha Claytor 26:34

Yeah.

Ken Claytor 26:35

And I get it when you read the Old Testament, there was there was a level of doom and gloom from the office of a prophet that was trying to correct wayward nations and wayward authority to get back right. But the but the spirit of prophecy in the New Testament should have these elements. It should be strengthening, it should be encouraging, and it should be comforting. Yes. And so when somebody comes and they prophesy to you that, you know, you're going to die in a car wreck, I've rebuked that in the name of Jesus. I shall live and I die. To me, God's word, the logos, the written word, always overrides the prophetic word. So I don't ever see a contradiction between what God has said in his written word versus the prophetic or spoken word. And if there is, I'm dropping the prophetic spoken word and I'm going with the written word first and foremost. So the written word tells us that this tone of prophecy is for the encouragement, the strengthening, and the comfort. You know, I've had people try to give me a word, and I felt um attacked or accused or belittled. And I say, I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. Get thee behind me, Satan, because that be not of God.

Tabatha Claytor 27:40

And I also think that you didn't say that to the person in their face, but No, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Ken Claytor 27:44

Well, you got to know how to say, uh at the time, I say, okay, God bless you, and walk away and then say, I rebuke that in the name of Jesus.

Tabatha Claytor 27:51

Right. Because we need to know how do we handle this situation.

Ken Claytor 27:55

But I think accountability is huge.

Tabatha Claytor 27:57

Yeah.

I think that we're in a day and time where if people are giving prophetic words, don't feel like just because God um people say, Well, God said this, you're obligated to receive it. No, in the mouth of two or three, I'm gonna have some witnesses judge that word. Yeah. Prophetic words need to be judged. You know, the body of Christ recently came through this situation where there's a particular stream that was having a certain person who was a prophet come, and he was basically giving prophetic words, but he was getting on social media like Facebook and Instagram, finding people's

stuff out, and then giving them words based upon that. And then it came out that he was doing that, and then you have a whole section of people like, oh, it's almost like that's why we don't even trust prophets and prophetic stuff. It's almost like they wanted just to put on the whole movement. Yeah, so one person was lying, was yeah, one person was lying and manipulating people, but now they want to throw the whole prophetic gifting.

Tabatha Claytor 28:52

See, that's why those prophets that's crazy, y'all.

Ken Claytor 28:55

That means that you would have to throw out whenever there, man, there's been corrupt people that are in pastors, that are leaders, that are car salesmen, insurance. That means you would throw out whole industries just because of the because of a few. That's crazy. Yeah. So just but but but what's missing is just accountability. So even in our church, if somebody gives you a word, you all right, if it bears witness with you, you want to receive it, you know it's from God, okay, you can do that. I would really encourage you to go find two or three other pastors or people that we have set that can judge the word. And after every service, we have pastors there. People in our church come right up to them. Hey, somebody said this to me. Can you pray with me about that? And then you take the spooky out of it, you take the weird out of it, and you take the the the wrong the wrong stuff out of it.

Tabatha Claytor 29:40

Yeah. I think that's good. That's safety. And again, you know, as believers, you know, God didn't He created the church for us to do life together. Yeah. Like we can't, it it's dangerous to for us to be out here alone, you know, just us and the voice of the enemy and trying to distinguish what's God, what's no, we need every all of us. You know, I've been in ministry for a long time. I still need people to speak into my life. I go to people and say, Hey, what do you think about this? We all need, excuse me, we all need that.

Ken Claytor 30:11

Here's another thing. Um, you prophesy according to your faith. So a lot of people say, Well, I just don't know if I have anything. I feel like I always got something. Why? Because I I got the faith that as I begin to move, God's gonna give me a prophetic word for the situation. And so I think you prophesy according to your faith, which means that there's gonna be an element where you can miss it because you're doing it by faith. And now we see through a glass darkly, but then we'll see face to face.

And I think that when you present prophetic words with a spirit of humility, it's like, hey, I believe that can I share it with you what I feel like God put in my heart for you to pray about? You can take it or leave it. Yeah. But I just want to share it with you. When you present it in humility, not like well, thus saith the Lord, so you don't have to present it that way and you don't have to receive it that way because it ain't that deep. It's true. We all get to hear from God, and I thank God for the edge of the prophetic that can come as a confirmation and an affirmation to give me strength and courage and hope. But at the same time, I can hear from God for myself at the same time. When the gifts have love and humility and submission, they're not weird, they're beautiful. All of them are beautiful and they need to be activated. And so I don't know, is there any other practical step that you would want to share with the mom who's watching, the businesswoman, the businessman, um, the person who's just um an everyday person when it comes to the, you know, um, your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Anything else?

Tabatha Claytor 31:30

I would say yes. I would definitely ask God, Lord, um, your word says that I should desire to prophesy. Teach me more, Lord. Help me to see this. Help me to hear your voice. Yeah. Um, help me to know how, you know, how you speak to me. You know, some people God speaks to some people through, you know, people hear a lot. Well, I heard God say, well, I heard God say some people feel a lot. Well, I just feel like some people see, I see visions, you know. Some people just, oh, I know. I know. I just and and so you, you know, this is something for you to go after, to seek after, to study, to show yourself approved.

Yeah. And I I'm sorry, go ahead.

Tabatha Claytor 32:10

No, I was gonna I was gonna say because as a prophetic people, we're God's prophetic people, we're spirit beings. We haven't been just, you know, we we're so used to hearing and seeing and feeling from our five physical senses. But that's yeah, we're in this flesh body, but there's a spirit inside.

Ken Claytor 32:27

Well, what I want people to know is that your coworkers need you to prophesy.

Tabatha Claytor 32:30

Yes.

Ken Claytor 32:31

Your neighbors, they need you to prophesy. There are people that they won't even believe in God until God discloses something to you that you could only get from God, and you come up with meekness and humility, but also authority, and you say, Hey, the Lord showed me what's happening in your marriage, but just know God's turning the heart of your spouse back to you, and I see a better day ahead.

And they're like, Oh my God, how did you even know?

Ken Claytor 32:53

To God be all of the glory. See, we need to activate the gift of prophecy and the working of prophecy throughout the church, and not just in the church, but outside the church, just like as a lifestyle.

Tabatha Claytor 33:02

Yeah. And that spirit of prophecy that you were talking about, that is just if if you just embrace the prophetic and say, I am a prophetic person, God teach me more, you change your outlook on life. You see the world as the glass half full, not half empty. You know, you begin to see with positivity in the world. So what you're doing is you're aligning yourself with what God says. You're aligning yourself with heaven. And so I would say to and anyone who wants to be more prophetic, you have to know the word of God. You better get into the word of God because you can't say what God says if you don't know what he says. So you have to get into the word of God just like I did. So whatever your situation is, let's take the businesswoman or the businessman, you know, or you know, you're working and you need your workplace to change, get into the scripture, write down every scripture that pertains to your situation in the workplace. Then you get up every day and you declare it. Go to your job declaring it. Nobody has to know that you can do it.

Ken Claytor 34:02

Nobody got to know. Don't get crazy.

Tabatha Claytor 34:04

Right? Nobody has to know it, but you can at your desk, you can walk to the water fountain, walk to the bathroom.

Ken Claytor 34:09

Do the oil put it on your finger? Nobody has to know.

But who are the ones that are going to stand up and prophesy?

Ken Claytor 34:15

Lay hands on the desk, lay hands on the desk. I command dissension to leave, division to leave, political atmosphere to gone in the name of Jesus. Yeah.

Ambassadors of Christ.

You got so many stories about how we did that. Took relatives' pictures and just lay hand on them and just pray, God, I pray that they be born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and now they're in ministry doing what God's called them to do. Yeah. I would also encourage you when you say you got to go after it. You know, we have a conference that's coming up in November, and I know this is August right now, but every November we do a thing called a live conference, and it's an encounter conference where we want to activate your spiritual gifts. And um, we actually have a prophetic room where everybody who comes, we pray prophetically over them. Yes, but we also pray for the gifts of the spirit to be activated on the inside of you. You owe it to yourself to at least come one time. Orlando's a cool place. People come from all around the world. They said 72 million people came last year. And a lot of them come to see Mickey. You need to come to see the master. Come on. And I will, I would, I would register. Tickets are limited, get your ticket right away. October's coming soon. Yeah. Um, we would love to see you here. But in closing, I want to give you five practical ways to grow in your prophetic gifting just to be as practical as I can, and we'll be done. Okay. Then I want you to share this, share this episode with as many people as you possibly can. Um, talk about it in your small groups, and let's and let's see the spirit of prophecy be released and increased. Number one, you got to stay rooted in scripture. God will not contradict his word, and the prophetic word should not contradict as well. Number two, pray consistently. Sensitivity, it grows through intimacy. So the more time you spend with God, uh the more your prophetic gifts will be activated and released. Number three, remove

Judging Prophetic Words With Accountability

constant noise because distraction, it dulls discernment. And many times we don't hear from God because we're hearing from uh Netflix TV shows, uh, our explore page, all this. Number four, you got to stay humble. Pride corrupts spiritual gifts. And I know some people that um have a spirit of pride and they're prophesying and the prophet lying because their spirits not right. Number five, you got to test every word, even prophetic words should be discerned. And so that's why accountability is huge.
