The HER LAB Podcast: YOU. Unfiltered & Alive!
Where bold women 50+ stop performing their lives and start fully living them!
You’ve checked the boxes. Built the life.
But somewhere in the mix of roles, reputation, and responsibility… YOU disappeared.
Welcome to The HER LAB—the place where you return to yourself.
I’m your host, Linda Ann Barber—freedom activator, bestselling author, and unapologetic voice for the woman who’s done shrinking, softening, or sugarcoating.
This podcast is NOT another fluffy reinvention pep talk.
It's NOT another 'better version' of yourself.
It’s where you strip away what’s no longer you—so the truest, most unapologetic version of you can rise!
Here, you’ll:
- Unmask the roles, rules, and survival patterns you’ve outgrown
- Anchor into identity over image—truth over performance
- Reclaim clarity, confidence, and presence as your new power tools
- Live by your own standards—not society’s expiration date
- Say yes to truth, no to guilt, and lead the second half of life on your terms
This is for the woman who:
- Isn’t stuck—but done with the version of herself that no longer fits
- Isn’t chasing more—but ready to be more
- Feels the fire of HER within—and refuses to keep dimming it for comfort
The HER LAB isn’t here to fix you.
You’re not broken.
You’re remembering who you’ve always been!
This is the lab where truth gets louder.
Where freedom becomes your baseline.
And where your boldest, most alive self is finally the standard.

Acting Independent vs. Embodying Independence
In this episode titled "Acting Independent vs. Embodying Independence," join us on a journey of self-discovery as we explore what it truly means to be independent.
We'll dive deep into what it feels like to embody true independence.
Imagine taking on the job or client you want, not the one you have to. Imagine knowing who you are and who God says you are, and worrying less about what others think or say. Picture exercising your boundaries instead of tolerating out of fear, and feeling emotionally worthy and enough without relying on outside validation.
We'll contrast "acting independent" with true independence. From childhood to adulthood, acting independent may have involved buying your own clothes and prepping your own meals, but it often came with a cost—seeking love or validation. As an adult, divorce and leaving a marital home might have seemed like independent actions, but they often stemmed from being in survival mode.
What does true independence mean? It involves responsibility for yourself—taking control of your reality, acknowledging your feelings and emotions, and recognizing your value. It means having your own back, not out of ego or trauma (hyper-independence), but at a soul level. True independence is about releasing codependency and aligning with your values and future self.
