As a physiologist for 38 years, I thought I had a clear understanding of what a heart attack looks like – boy was I wrong!  I have 12% body fat, I lift weights three times a week and I swim, bike, or run 10+ hours a week.  I don’t eat fried foods, I have never smoked or used street drugs and I get 8-10 hours of sleep every night, with 2-hour naps on the weekends.  How in the world did I not see a heart attack coming?  

 Please take a moment to hear about my journey, which led to a heart attack and the need for a life-saving heart stent. In this podcast episode with Toolman Dan, I'll walk you through the various symptoms I experienced for over two years: fatigue, shortness of breath, limited mobility, tingling and numbness in my arms, nightmares, irritability, anxiety, anger issues, reduced appetite, brain fog, and vision problems. 

 I initially attributed these symptoms to long COVID due to the striking similarities, and I resigned myself to living with them. Despite my proactive approach in every possible way, I was mistaken—the symptoms weren't from long COVID but were actually warning signs of severe heart stress that eventually led to a heart attack.

 My ultimate hope is that everyone worldwide will listen to this podcast with an open mind and consider my symptoms, my approach, and how far off course I was in my understanding. I was fortunate to receive a second chance, and I aspire to inspire others to seek medical attention when things just don't feel right. I'm not a paranoid person, I lead a proactive life, but I wasn't proactive enough, and it nearly cost me everything I hold dear: my wife, children, family, and all of you, my dear friends!
