Mental Athleticism Part Two. Relentless Execution of the Daily, Boring, Unsexy Sh*t.
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Part one of the Mental Athleticism series was all about anchoring to a big, audacious vision for your life. But vision only becomes powerful when you’re willing to execute on it relentlessly.
Because big lives aren’t built in big moments. They’re built in small daily decisions.
In Part Two of What is Mental Athleticism, we break down what it actually means to train your mind like an athlete and why motivation alone will never carry you across the finish line.
We dive into the four pillars of Mental Athleticism—big vision, relentless execution, command of self, and environmental design—and focus on the unsexy middle: the daily reps that actually move your life forward.
If you’ve been waiting to “feel ready,” this episode will show you how to start executing today.

Defining Mental Athleticism
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to the Carrie Croft Show. It's us again, and I love it. Okay, so in the last solo cast, we talked about what is mental athleticism, the definition, which again, I'm gonna say it again, is the discipline practice of anchoring to a bold vision, a big bold vision, executing relentlessly in the smallest daily actions, and mastering both command of self and environmental design so you can consistently put yourself in a position to win. Okay? In a position to win. The four pillars of this system. Again, big vision, relentless daily execution, command of self, environmental design.
Why Daily Execution Matters
SPEAKER_00Today we're gonna just bite off the relentless daily execution. So many people fall off here. You know, you talk about the path less traveled. Well, you want to go on the path less traveled, you go on the daily disciplined, unsexy path, and there's not a lot of people on it. Especially in the world of quick fixes and uh shortcuts and instant gratification. You know, we have this big vision for our life, or we do anchor ourselves into a big vision, but then it's like, okay, well, I'm just gonna manifest it. Don't get me started on this manifestation thing. You just you don't want to hear my hot take on it. It's like you're like a cat. You're like a cat daydreaming, sitting on a couch with a on with an Afghan looking out a window, like a little kitty cat, purring, just manifesting your big dreams. You know, it's that's just bullshit. It's bullshit if there's nothing behind it. So that word manifestation, it just it bugs me.
Motivation Is Not The Foundation
SPEAKER_00When you can anchor your big visions with consistent daily uh effort, that is when you put yourself in the position to win. I mean, if you want to call that manifestation, you know, I guess it's just how you how you wanna how you want to word it, but just manifesting or just thinking about your big vision ain't gonna get you there, honey. So today we will focus in on these little daily actions. And I'm gonna talk about something else that's annoying to me in this vein. This this idea of motivation. And we hear this, you know, all the time about motivation. I'm here to to tell you motivation is fleeting. Motivation is not something that you can hang your hat on. That's not the foundation of the house. Motivation is kind of like the nice, it's the, you know, the really cool um accessory in the house that you can like move around or that shifts and changes. So I don't want to hear about motivation. I don't want to hear, I'm not motivated. Welcome, welcome. Motivation, example, motivation and happiness. Like, I just want to be happy. I just want to be motivated. Those aren't steady state things in life. Again, those are not the foundation of the house. Those things come and go, they're fluid. One day something happens and it makes me happy. The next day something happens and I'm not happy about it. Yeah, okay, great. But the foundation of the house still needs to be there. So let's not talk about motivation. The problem is not I'm not motivated. Let's just assume you're not motivated. And
From Big Vision To Me First
SPEAKER_00it's doing it anyway. So let's go back to the conversation we just had in the previous solo cast around anchoring to your big vision. Let's dial in specifically on the me first box. Do you see it? Okay, MF, me first. So we've anchored to our big vision in the me first box, and you've got, you know, whatever your priorities or your big goals are. Um what you're gonna have to do then every single day on the granular level is to say to yourself, okay, what actions do I need to take or stop taking in order to take little tiny steps forward toward that box, toward that end. It's not rocket science, okay? It's it's boring, it's hard, it's not fun all the time. And that's why people consistently kind of fall right off the cliff. Because as much as they say they want something, the moment life presents something more comfortable, uh, that possibly has some sort of short-term good feeling attached to it, then you're like, oh, yeah, we'll do that, we'll do that another time. So it is really, really important if you want to be mentally athletic or practice mental athleticism, that you continue to build this muscle. And this is not an all or nothing, like you have to be perfect every single second or you suck. This is a building of a muscle over time so that you get so good at it that you're either never missing or you're barely
Building The Consistency Muscle
SPEAKER_00missing. And so if you're never missing or you're barely missing, then you're gonna be in a much better position to get yourself to those boxes and those visions that you have for your life. At a high level, a person who practices mental athleticism can attach themselves, anchor themselves into the big vision. And then they can also take those daily boring, mundane, unsexy little steps toward those big, lofty, audacious goals. So it's it's as simple and as complex as that. Now, if you're listening to this and you've listened to the solo cast before and you're like, gosh, I'm interested. This sounds great. I just, I really don't know how to start. It just is overwhelming for me. That's exactly why we started and created the B10, because you have to start somewhere. And what I would say about the B10 that is launching, again, our second one at the end of April, it gives you sort of an entrance into this world. I'm not gonna inundate you, I'm not gonna overwhelm you with all of the details around mental athleticism. We're just gonna let you peek through the door and take a couple steps in and start to build tiny little muscles. And then if you're willing and you're starting to see results and you're starting to feel the momentum, then we'll continue to go down the path together around making you a fucking mentally athletic animal. So the B10 is basically a 10-day challenge, and a whole group of us get together. There's an embrace the challenge contract that you sign, and I want you to sign it in front of someone that you love. We give up five specific things, all of us. And then there's another five things you can choose. There's a bunch of choices on the contract that you can decide based on your life what you want to do. And so there's 10 things that you're either giving up or doing within this 10-day challenge for yourself because you've committed to it. And then the only other thing we're gonna do is basically practice some training wheels with mental athleticism and doing small things every single day that add up. That's it. That's it. And I will, you know, during those 10 days, we'll be very much in contact on Slack, on email, and I'll be dropping more education for you around mental athleticism. So 10 days in, are you an expert?
Introducing The B10 Challenge
SPEAKER_00Are you, you know, perfect? No, but you will feel so much more stable and ready to sort of take the next step into mental athleticism. So very, very excited about that. And the thing we do within the B10 that I'll share with you that's really, really impactful. And it last the last group in January, it only reinforced me how great of a system this is. It's called the DOT system. And it's the simplest thing. But when you put it in practice, you see why people fall off. The dot system is simply do one thing. So every single day during the B10, we do something so, so small in the spiritual, mental, organizational, physical, and relational buckets. That's it. But once you start getting into it and you're like, oh, wait, like this is interesting. It truly is a mental muscle that you're building. So if you're curious and you do want to take a bit of a step into mental athleticism, I highly recommend the B10. Um, very low lift, fun, interactive, uh, great community. And if you want to be a part of it, you can just send me a DM with your email and we will add you to the wait list. Okay, well, that was easy. Easy peasy. The goal of these solo casts are to be short, sweet, and effective. So hopefully I was able to draw in a little bit of this daily, relentless execution for you. And now that you've listened to solo cast one and two, what I would like for you to do now is to think about, okay, I've I've taken this big vision and I have
The DOT System Explained
SPEAKER_00these four boxes with these specific things in each box. What is it I could do on the ground level every single day to ensure that I put myself in a position to win in each of these boxes? And it can be messy, just write it down. It doesn't have to be perfect. None of this is. So please, if you have questions, if you want to talk about that, send me an email, carry at the carrycroft show.com. Send me a DM. Let's look at what you've got and let's figure it out. Okay, some housekeeping things. Very, very excited. I just talked about the B10. So that's going to be happening the end of April. If you want to be a part of it, DM me your email. I'll add you to the email list and then the wait list. Secondly, don't sleep on it. Mental Athleticism Live, our first one happens March 11th at noon. It's all about what your comfort zone is costing you. And again, come to train, come to be interactive, bring with you whatever it is that's holding you back. I want this to be an interactive training experience, not some check the box call that you jump on. So March 11th, noon, you and me, baby, sign up. The in real life event in her badass era happens April 9th. Tickets are going to be going to the public soon. If you want to be a part of that, you can always send me a DM. Action Steps And Support
SPEAKER_00up. What else are we missing? Oh, the infertility series in April. So if you have anyone who has gone through it, has, you know, anything to do with infertility that you want to be a part of this year, please send us a note. We would love to hear from you. And that is all she wrote for this solo cast. I hope you have a fantastic day. I hope you realize today how capable you are, how much control you can have over your life. And I want you to go out there and just be the badass beast that you are. And until next time, keep moving, baby.
