Most people treat procrastination like a flat fee. You think, "If I don’t execute today, I’ll just do it tomorrow and pay a 24-hour penalty."
But delay doesn’t charge flat fees. It charges compound interest.
Every single time you choose the temporary comfort of putting off a hard task—whether that’s building your independent business, creating content, or executing an exit plan from your day job—you aren't just pushing the timeline back. You are actively multiplying the psychological, emotional, and structural cost of eventually getting started.
In this episode, we pull back the curtain on the brutal math of delay and break down why the long-term cost of comfort is infinitely higher than the short-term friction of execution.
Yo, it's your man, man. Right. Rossia, man. You look at procrastination, right? Like it's a goddamn game. You look at it like it's a flat fee. You feel me? You look at it, oh hey, I'm gonna pay you, and that's it. Hell no. Every time you procrastinate, it's compound interest, high interest. You feel me? It's triple, double, quadruple, ten times tax. You dig? Like it's so many ways to look at this. You feel me? Like most people think that I just do it to my shit. You just let yourself get away with it. No, you ain't getting away with it. Most of the times when you are procrastinating, it's like leaving a tab open on your computer. That bitch gonna sit there until you exit out. Until you say, I'm not doing it. You dig? It's gonna sit there. It's the same way that habit or that action is sitting in your brain causing you to feel emotional reactions to it. You feel me? Like you tied to it because you don't want to leave it. You feel me? Like we've been lied to that comfort actually don't cost. You feel me? Like choosing to count or choosing this to scroll or choosing just do to do whatever in the moment. This is high interest. You feel me? Taking out against your future self. You feel me? Like you letting your future self just get away from you. Your future self looking ugly right now. You feel me? That interest on your future self looking like it look like you're gonna be dead early. You feel me? That future self ain't looking too pretty right now. You dig that's why it's best to take it slow. That's why it's best to do something small every day. That's why it's best to just to eat one thing, just to start. You feel me? In the day, man, I'm finna get on your ass about this procrastination, man. Like, because I've been procrastinating in certain areas of my life. You feel me? I'm not gonna lie to y'all, like, I don't procrastinate on certain things, but some shit I don't play about. Some shit I'm not finna procrastinate on, some shit I'm finna get out the way. So we're finna go over it, man. This video, man. I'm gonna break down the brutal math behind the compound entries of delay and exactly how to stop trade and your long-term freedom for short-term comfort. And let's get into it, man. Let's get right into it, man. The first thing is, man, we're gonna call we're gonna break down the cost breakdown. You feel me? Like, we're gonna break down the cost. Like, we're gonna break that down. We're gonna talk about this first. Like, what is the cost of this shit? Like the cost. When you face a hard task, like working on your exit plan, creating some content, or taking a tough project down. You feel me? When you are looking at the predictables upfront cost, but when you choose comfort, the cost grows exponentially. Like it's just saying, like, it's just if you choose that comfort, like I'm just gonna eat this donut today. Man, that shit just it it it compounds like if you wouldn't eat that donut. You feel me? So, like this is dimension, right? You got the short-term friction and you got the long-term compound interest, right? Okay, energy cost. Say you want an intense 15 minutes of focus, you feel me? Just lock in. You dig? But this is the long-term if you don't, you feel me? The constant low grade mental drainage as the uncompleted task sticks in the background. You dig? Like it's just like a person just watching you like this all day. Washing the fuck out of you. Like that habit watching you. It's in you not doing it. It's looking at you dead in your eye. You feel me? Like you gotta look at that habit as you. That habit with you all day. That habit know you ain't dead, that habit know you ain't fucking with it. That habit know you ain't trying to get healthy, that happens know you ain't trying to get no money, that habit know you ain't trying to get to the place that you're trying to be. So that's why it's constantly just looking at you, staring you down, breathing down your back, knowing you ain't did what you supposed to do. Like, and this this no lie. When I ain't do some shit, it caused mental stress on me. I be like certain terms shit. I like, no, all right, you better go do that right now. You got 10 minutes. You feel me? Like the day I had to go running after I got off work. I don't give a damn how tight I am, but I'm luckily I was I ran faster because I had them heavy ass boots on at work, right? These some steel toe boots. Shit, I come home, put my motherfucking running shoes on. Shit, I feel like I'm running on shit. This is these shoes and got a hella light. You dig? I don't know what I ran today, but I know I ran faster though. But anyway, this is just my part of my day. I got to run them out every day of my life, right? So the next thing, right? This is another confidence, right? The short-term thing that you pay up front, every completed action reinforces self-trust and proof of capability, right? So now you trust yourself more, right? You can go running every day. My God, you can read every day, or you can post every day, or you can be positive every day, or you can go look for the thing that you need to look for to become because you need to become, or you can study this thing every day. You think just doing little small things can trickle into you doing bigger things, or you can make your bed up every day, or you can just do this, you feel me? Just giving that shelf that reinforcement gives you that confidence, but this is what the long term comes out when you don't do it. You feel me? When you delay the action, like you are depreciating every delay, reinforces the subconscious mind that oh, I can't handle this, I can't handle this. I ain't do it yesterday, you think I'm gonna do it today? Oh, I ain't do it the next day, you think I'm gonna do it right now? No. You feel me? The mind, the mind is tired of putting up with your shit. You feel me? So it it just no, it don't even think about it, it look at it. And you're trying to act like it ain't thinking about it, then it goes go scroll some more, go look at some more shit that's gonna depress the mind some more. Go look at some, go do some more shit that I ain't got no substance to it. Just watching your life away, watching your watching your life walk away from you because you want to sit there and watch TV all day, because you want to sit there and play all day, because you want to sit there and take life as a fucking joke all day. Everything is funny. Nah, fuck no, right? So the next thing you might get is to what complexity, right? So the paying up front, right? This is what you pay up front. The problem is exactly as big as it is right now. You feel me? Like, shoot, I'm gonna handle it. I'm gonna handle it from right here, from where it stands, right? Like this is what if I if I got complexity, right? This is what I'm the static, any static, it's gonna I'm gonna handle it today. Come on, you know, nigga call you on a handle your business right now, not later on, but right now, right? And the next thing is complicity, right? When come compounding, circumstances change option arrows and a simple task evolves into a what crisis. So now you said fuck it. Now, now you owe interest on this car notes, now you owe uh late fee on the rent, now you owe you know interest on the phone bill, like now it's compounding because you were delayed that because you were procrastinating. You feel me? You could have been got that out the way, but now it's bigger than what it is. Now the problem is way bigger. Now you owe way more. Oh, you wanted the loan for a hundred dollars a month, and this shit could have been paid off in 90 days. Oh, now the interest is way more. So sometimes the best thing is what to act right now. You feel me? Like knowing that. Let me go ahead and get into let me get in the game. Let me get in the game. Like this week, I'm going over nothing but why you ain't gotta make excuses, how the man gotta, you know, be on top of excuses. Like, we know we're gonna get right into it today. This is part one, and we're gonna get we gonna we're gonna keep pushing, right? So next thing is opportunity cost, right? Like paying the cost up front, zero. You are actively building the essay. You feel me? Like, if you start right now, boom. You ain't no you know, it ain't no problem. You actively go ahead and stuff doing what you need to do. But if you delay it, uh the absolute, you lose the upside of what the action would have been generated during the time you waited. Now all that time waiting, you could have nigga, they could have seen you, they could at least seen you grow up. They could at least your audience want to see you, you know, take, take goddamn, you know, rocket ship. You feel me? So the younger you are, the better. You feel me? The the the the the the more you can do at a younger age, don't matter how bad it looks, just go ahead and start. If it forget me, like the next the next thing you ain't gonna look way more different if you study, if you still going. You feel me? So keep going, keep pushing, right? And the next one is man, is number two, right? This is gonna be the the cognitive load, right? The cognitive text, the open loops, and this shizzing fatigue. Like, this is something that I go through all the time, right? Go over all the time. So this so there's a um person named the Ziggler effect, which states that a human brain remembers the uncompleted tasks and unorupted tasks much better than completed ones. So your brain basically remembers the bullshit. You feel me? Remember that dumb shit. You remember that undone left shit that you don't want to think about. Oh, it remember that way more than remember the shit that you did. It like skip over the shit, like the shit that you done did, like it got a check mark and you on to the next thing. You feel me? But the shit that you ain't did, man, it shit sitting there. So when you delay and actually to um to choose comfort, you don't actually get to relax. You hear me? When you delay some, like comfort, you don't actually get to relax, man. You see your subconscious task, your subconscious keeps that task open, like a resource-heavy tab running in the background of a computer. You feel me? Like the tabs up to your computer, you see the tabs. I put all my tabs in order. You feel me? I put them from the most important to the least important. You feel me? Like, I put every I keep a tab open. You feel me? And it's your brain. Your brain keeps a tab until you say it's completed. You feel me? So let me put this in my mind. The daily task, if a task takes two hours of focus, friction to complete, delaying it for two weeks means you carry 14 days of low grade anxiety, guilt, and mental clutter. Now you got a bunch of bullshit on your mind. Now you're feeling guilty. You don't want to look at a gym. You don't want to look at a goddamn vegetable because you've been eating motherfucking what? You've been cheating on the vegetable with eating chicken all week. You've been cheating on the fruit because you've been wanting to goddamn eating a motherfucking um fruit cake. Like you've been doing dumb shit, and you know it. You you know you've been misusing your resources, so you got that guilt hanging over you, that dark cloud over your mind. Now you got all this shit just constantly what fatiguing you, making you tired. You don't want you so damn tired. You just want to go home and go to sleep, take a bath, and and just do something like your layup. You feel me? You just want to do nothing now. Literally, you didn't the the the the day didn't fuck you. Like you didn't let the day get the best of you. You feel me? You didn't went through the whole day, you didn't went to work, you didn't deal with the work said do. You did what they say do, yeah, for sure. You went there, bitch, and performed. You made sure your church was tucked in, smelling good, looking good, fresh. But when it came to you, when it came to clock in for you, you say, Oh no, excuses, where are you? You just start looking for them, bitches. Excuses, excuses. Can you please find me? You just started looking for them bitches immediately when it came to you and yourself. Like this one thing you know we got to work on. You feel me? Because all this guilt is it brings high what anxiety. Now you motherfucking itching all day. You always scratching all day. You got this shit on your mind, you got that on your mind because what you procrastinate, because your brain is it knows just some shit needs to be done. The tab is still floating around in your head. So, man, the results of this, man, you spend an exponential amount of energy dreading, remembering the feeling the guilt about that task. You feel me? Like feeling that if it would have been taken you simply to execute the finding place, the comfort is an illusion, just deferred by pain with interest, right? So let me read that one more time. That's on my computer. Okay, you spend exponentially more total energy dreading, remembering, and feeling the guilt about the task than it would have taken to simply execute it in the first place. Like, you know how some shit, like my mom used, my granddaughter used to say man, you gonna do it, it won't take it, it won't you won't even have to say nothing. You feel me? And it's real. You feel me? By the time you got them get done talking to that ass, you could have been dead by now. Trash took out, fuck it. I took it out. You feel me? Oh shit, I done ran five minutes. Oh, push-ups done. You feel me? You gotta make that shit simple. Like, if you want to do more, you can do more. But getting that brain started is my motherfucking, is my is my recipe. If I know how to get some shit started, like I'm the one some shit going on, I'll go ahead and start. Fuck it, let me get mine out the way. Y'all get y'all pain late, I'm gonna get mine right now. Fuck fuck it. Like, I don't like pain, so getting it out the way is the best way to do it. Let me go work out. My damn legs hurt. Oh well. Let me go work out. You feel me? Let me go get this motherfucker stronger. Like, no way I'm finna sit here and let myself get weak and get sick. No. Right. The next thing is, man, the structural math. This is the last part, right? And I got an abundance for y'all on this one. The structural math, right? The price of a delayed start. In fan ants, the greatest leverage variable in compound interest is time, right? Starting five years earlier matters more than saving twice as much later. The same rule applies, rule applies to your execution. You feel me? Like you start right now, don't give a fuck. They just matter because it's something. You know, it don't matter, you would double it then, but now you what? Your time is now you use more your money as your time. So let's get into it though. Look at the mathematicals, right? It says the land and asset, asset maintenance building, action, like building a personal brand, a business, or a skill. Total access value equals action times one plus consistency, and it got time is like then the um as a process for you, right? When you delay getting started, you aren't just looking at the days you miss, you are looping off the tail end of the compound curve, the period where effort will have yielded the massive exponential returns. A six-month delay doesn't count, doesn't cut um and doesn't cost you six months of a beginning process. A six-month delay today doesn't cost you six months of beginning process, it costs you six months of peak high leverage output at the five-year horizon. So it's saying like shit, a six-month delay doesn't cost you six months of beginning practice. It's cost you six months of peak high leverage output at the end of the five year old. Okay, so it's saying, like right now, right? Like me. I'm in this position. I can just notice shit in my head. I feel like my podcast is if I'm rating this bitch from a scale of one of ten, I'm giving it a two. You dig? Because this is all I got right now, but guess what? This is I'm gonna keep coming with it. I'm I'm I'm not gonna stop. I ain't gonna plan on stopping. I ain't got no plan on, you know, this not working. I already prayed about this one. I just gotta keep pushing. You feel me? Like, I already know. I believe in prayer and everything you pray for. If it comes slow, that's that's good. Shit, I can pray for stuff and it can't the next day. Like, god damn, I'm never even ready. But God, if you ask for something, it's some stuff he can deliver fast, some stuff he gotta take some time with. So, whatever you want, just keep doing it. Just keep doing it, just keep doing it. You can go five or ten years doing it. You do this shit for a job for free. You're working to give your money back to another motherfucker so he can go pay his bills with it and reinvest it. You just could spend up, most likely. You feel me? Like the majority of people are spenders. We are gonna spend it. So you might as well spend it doing something that you like to do and pray about it and keep doing it, make sure that it benefits and help other people. You feel me? Like, and it's gonna come, it's gonna come to fruition, it's gonna come through. It says whatever things you want, just pray about it. You feel me? Like, ask God and God's gonna give it to you. Like for real. It's a quote I got in here. Like it say, just ask. He got you for real. Like, if you want something, just give it, just ask. If you want some, just say look at it. Yeah, um, pray for it, then you ask. You feel me? Like, for something, you pray and you ask. Like, I don't got it in front of me today, but it's probably in the kitchen or in the bathroom. I got quotes everywhere. But uh anyway, man, y'all get the game. Look at it. Let me get y'all to this. Let me get y'all to this thing I said I was gonna get y'all to anyway. This is the bonus, right? The hard truth, man. Short-term friction lasts until you get into momentum. Usually about 10 to 15 minutes. Long-term comfort feels good for those same 15 minutes, but leaves you paying a tax of regret, diminished self-trust, and misleverage for months or years to come. So, man, let's just get on do some shit. We need to put our top priorities, three priorities: health, money, skill. You feel me? Just a just an example. You feel me? Let me get this shit. Okay, now you break those three down, right? What can help my money? What habit could help my money? Okay, what habit could help my health, and what habit could help my skill. And you get uh a habit for each one of them motherfuckers. This is what you do, write it down on paper and put your time and the date on it. You feel me? You just get better with it over time. You get better with like, damn, I said I am got a little better with it. You feel me? You're gonna see the growth, you're gonna see the exponential what time because you've just been doing it for so long. Now become what stuck in that subconscious mind. So let this shit sink in that subconscious mind so you can become the person that you need to be and do what you need to do in this lifetime, man. Y'all stop playing with y'all time, y'all stop playing with y'all life, man. Hope this video helps y'all in some type of way, man. I'm coming back with part two tomorrow. This is part one, and we're talking about no excuses all fucking week. We talking about not the land, no motherfucking nothing, no procrastination, no excuses, no none of that BS that causes us to let the day slide. No, no. This week we're talking about not letting the day slide. Everything finna correlate. And this is how just me getting better with this. I have learned how to what put it incorporate into my pattern things that pick it back off the next thing. So, this is gonna help me grow and help y'all grow at the same time. So, tell a friend to tell a friend that man, I'm on the ground. I'm I'm thinking, I'm coming, I'm and I'm not finna stop, man. This video helped y'all in some type of man. I like coming and subscribe, man. Y'all stop playing y'all time, y'all stop playing with y'all life, man. Yeah, let's go, man.
