In this episode, we break down why having a "Plan B" is the exact reason your "Plan A" never works. When comfort is always accessible, your brain will always choose the path of least resistance. True discipline isn't about waiting for motivation; it’s about engineering an environment where failure is too uncomfortable to tolerate.
We discuss how to strip away your mental escape hatches, aggressively lower your baseline comfort, and eliminate choices so that execution becomes your only default behavior. It’s time to stop hiding behind your safety nets. Look in the mirror, eliminate your options, and either do the work or admit you prefer staying exactly who you are.
Yo, it's your main man Brian Bry CL man. We back with another discipline day, man. It's Friday. I'm feeling good, and I'm finna get back on part five of discipline and making excuses. Making excuses and procrastination, man. You are not failing because you have a mindset to fail. You fail because of the past. You feel me? You fail because of the subconscious, man. You feel me? And today I'm finna tell you why you are failing because you have too many options. You have too many options. You have too many ways to go this way and do this and do that. You feel me? Like in this today, I'm finna piggyback out the rest of the days, right? So let's get into it, man. Sorry about this sorry intro I just said, but you know, it's gonna get better. It's gonna get better. We don't we don't go back around here. The core concept force field default execution. The myth of motivation, right? This is the one that hit me. You say we treat motivation and discipline like a feeling we need to wait for. It's not. This is a structural design problem. If you have to choose to be great every morning, eventually you will not. You feel me? You gotta make a decision for real. Like, then that's real. Because with my mind, there's no negotiating. I don't give a fuck where you at. You can go run. You can go do this, you can go, you know, you can go keep that up. You feel me? You don't win how many months without walking right here? You better go motherfucking run. You might feel to crawl. Get your ass up and go run. Like, I don't I don't give myself no type of room to ask a question. Am I gonna run? Nigga, you wanna be crawling again? You want your leg to go out on you? You better go run. Like you every everybody got different reasons and different motives to do what they do, but I do what I do because I know if I don't, I I I still do. You feel me? Still finna go. How slow I'm running today. Still finna go. Okay, how about it? I don't give my body no break. A mile? You need a break from a mile of running? You ain't ran five, you ain't run three every day. No, no, no break from a one male mouth. No. No break. You feel me? Because I know if I give myself a break, myself gonna think it got some control. My you know, my um my conscious mind, my subconscious mind already programmed it's time to run it's time to go. But I'm not giving my conscious mind. We don't even talk about running, we know what's going on with that. You feel me? So this is called scripping the tearing. You feel me? To fix the behavior, you have to run the alternative. You don't need no willpower. You destroy the environment that feeds your weakness. You feel me? Like that's all you do, you destroy it. You destroy any environment that feeds weakness. You dig? So to do this, you gotta remove the choice. If the phone is in another phone, you don't have the resistance of looking at it. You don't choose, you feel me? Because it don't exist. Like you got this in your way. You got a bag of chips by your damn bed and a drink of soda, eventually you gonna grab it. You got some shit, the remote control right beside you, eventually you're gonna cut the damn TV on. You feel me? But if you got some weights in front of you, eventually you're gonna lift the weights. If you got a trail meal beside the bed, eventually you're gonna hop your ass on it. If you got a book beside you, eventually you gonna read it. You feel me? So this is how you script your environment. This is how you tear down. Like, I make sure this environment's full of books. I'm gonna eventually read every book in this bitch. These are the ones I haven't read. I got them on top on purpose. My baby just rearranged them for me last night, just taking books and throwing them, but she had a little party, so I ain't tripping. And she'll be reading them later. She just touching all my books and just making sure that ain't no dust on them, I guess, you know. But uh anyway, to remove the luxury, if you have the baseline confidence too high, your tolerance for friction drops to zero. You feel me? Like, remove any luxuries. You know this is a luxury, this is around you right now. No, no, this is not the environment for you. Close it up, lock it away, put it up. Put your phone on what? Airplane mode. Don't disturb, don't store, don't even work. They don't work. People still will call you through that shit. Like they phone go through, don't disturb now. Like that shit don't work. It's just useless. It's waste of a time, right? So if I got any luxuries around me, it's got still. Anything that makes me grab and go and get up and ooh, what the what is this? No. If my if I can't be in, like, I can be in my room, I can be in the house all day, I can be in your room all day doing work. Some people need to be in public, some people need to be outside, some people need to be with in the classroom, some people need to be in the library. Everybody got their preferences, right? So you don't know where you want to be at until you go be there first. See how it feels for you. I don't like everybody looking at me where I'm doing. I like being damn near no nothing but a damn some damn sweat trunks on. That's it. None but some damn gem toys on. I don't like having clothes on when I'm working. I don't like having a bunch of clothes on. I like having my massage things where I can massage my feet. I like being in my fucking environment. You dig? I don't like people looking at me and able to stop me and ask me shit while I'm doing something. No, I don't like that. You feel me? I I can't put my headphones in and listen to some common music. And I tried that, but I'm not. I'm gonna keep on looking up some shit. You're gonna see some shit that you make you say, what the? Or somebody might get the, you know, have a confrontation, anything going on. I don't want to be around it. I don't want to be looking. I want my mind to be locked in on this, you feel me? So this how I remove the safety net, you feel me? Like remove the safety net when there is a backup plan, survival instincts take over. Execution stops being a choice and becomes a default behavior. So when you got some, oh, I can do this instead. Oh no, I'm gonna do this. This is my excuse. I ain't doing that. I ain't fucking with it. You feel me? Like your brain ready to ready for that. You feel me? So if it got any type of, oh hell nah, you here? I can you can drive. Nah, hell no. Act like I ain't here. No, I'm tired of driving. You dig everybody in that day every day relationship. Nah, babe, I'm tired. You feel me? Because you got this safety net. You dig like this with anything. You got a safety net, you want to use that bitch immediately. And yeah, nah, babe, drive, please. I'm tired. Uh uh. That's my safety net. You feel me? So if it's anything that you know is uh requiring you to, oh man, you hit their mama. I was finna go work out. I ain't you can use anything as a safety net. I ain't finna go work out now. I need to spend some time with you. Ain't you hungry? You fucked the dad. Fuck the plan. You finna go out to eat on. You feel me? That's that what? Survival mechanism popping dropping back in. You would have you if the goddamn, if the real you would have talked and had the damn control, you would have said, look, come on, we finna go walk. We finna go eat, then we finna go walk, walk it off, okay? Okay. You feel me? She probably had no damn problem there, but you would but you resorted to the fuck it, you wanna get two L's today. You wanna get an L phone eating and L phone working out. You feel me? So now your day is now tomorrow is just kind of fucked up. Now tomorrow is more like shit, this is what we did yesterday. Can we do that again, please? Shit, you might do. So let's get out of that mind frame, right? And let's talk about the framework. Three things people try to escape, three escapes to kill. The digital escape, the financial slash lifestyle escape, and the tomorrow escape. The digital escape, right? The comfort it provides. A dopamine demand that tasks get too difficult or boring. How to destroy it? Kill it. App blockers that that require um that you to know a phone is time and safe or completely a task. Like, get them down. You know them apps that you can't open your phone until you did 10 plus or you can't open your phone until you did certain squad. So get the app, get get something to get on your ass. Like get something to be on you so they see your task. Like that while everybody tells you look, you got if you're doing something every day, track it. This is the way you'll do it every day. If you track it, you more likely to hit that button again. If you track it, you more likely to go ahead and you know, go ahead and go back at it. You feel me? So track it. The financial slash lifestyle escape, living right at or above your means, pretending you are comfortable when building nothing. You feel me? That's their comfort. No, you just working your ass off, ain't paying off no bills, ain't paying off no debts, ain't doing nothing, but getting yourself in more motherfucking debt, paying more bills, having more things to do because you are what trying to stay comfort. You are trying to stay comfortable with the with the with the with the real feeling of being uncomfortable. You feel me? You got all this shit going on, gotta pay all these damn bills. You gotta be gone all day for work. You can't get no fucking break. You got people calling you about this, you got people calling you about that. Man, what the fuck? You like you didn't got yourself into a bunch of shit. You uh you like a cow, you got a bunch of shit going on around here. God damn, like a big load of it. You feel me? Like, you seem like a manure. Like, once you do that to kill this, you're gonna lower your baseline expenses to absolutely the floor. Force yourself into a corner where every single dollar has a has a strict aggressive directive. Like, man, no. Like, I see how people get comfortable now. I see what's going on. The less I got to do, the more happy I am. You feel me? The less I have to worry about, the less I got to do. You dig? And that's how it is, you feel me? And like the less you gotta do, the more you have. Because like your time is really everything. You feel me? We need money, of course, but how we get it is very pertinent. How we get it is very important in my eyes. How we how we bring in income is so important. If that shit don't fit you and you make it fit you, man, you start making other shit fit you. You start eating food that you don't supposed to eat, you start smoking, you start doing all types of extra ass shit that you don't supposed to do. Cause you got the money now, you like fuck it, I can eat it. Fuck it, I can smoke it. Fuck it, I can drink it. You feel me? You dig like you don't do nothing with it.
unknownUh-huh.
SPEAKER_00But kill yourself. Literally. Ain't finna go get no fruit. Nigga ain't seen the fruit station in a year in years. Nigga go in there, bitch. The first thing he sees the fruit, he walk right past that shit. Why that shit got that shit right here? I need something to drink. I need something I can pop open. That's what them niggas, that's why they put the water all the way in the back for you, motherfuckers. I understand that to those teeth. Let's put the water in the milk down into the last aisle. Cause they gonna walk through the whole step though. We know damn the 95% of y'all coming in and putting these bitches to get something to drink. Y'all gonna look at it as something. This fruit and your vegetable, put this shit in the front. Nobody wants that shit. Nobody knows that shit. They put the drugs in the back. Put the good shit in the front. You ain't even gotta walk far from the front. You can go right in the start, walk right in and out. They can make it good for the people who eat healthy. You motherfuckers who don't want to eat healthy, oh yeah, you don't make your ass walk. You need to walk anyway. You feel me? So let's just kill it, man. Let's just then another thing to kill is the tomorrow's case. The lie you will have more energy, better focus in a better environment later. Kill it. Set micro dad lives in real time. Immediate consequences. If it isn't done by 8 a.m., it counts as a defensive loss. Like, give yourself a flag, nigga. Blow the whistle, nigga. Whistle, do something. Get yourself, man. I fouled out today. They were fouled on me. Like I did. I had something on. I saw I had to go apologize because that was on me. If I had to go, look, I that was on me. Because I you ain't did shit to me, bro. You feel me? You ain't there, they were on there was like sometimes I'm I'm not right. Most of the times I'm not I'm not right. You feel me? So if you wrong and you caught it, man, go man. Be a man and apologize. Be a man and say, man, that was on me. You feel me? Like some people can't do that, but I'm I'll be ready and say when I didn't fuck the purpose. Because I know I let my anger or I let my frustration get to me sometimes. And that's just natural. You feel me? So I am able to fully completely control that. It's gonna come out of me sometimes. But majority of the time, I'm not I don't rather apologize to nobody. But when I do, I do it, man. I you know, just this is my fault, man. Hook it out. You feel me, box it out, whatever you want to do. But I ain't gonna, I'm trying to bring the piece. You feel me? So the close up, man, when you script away the any noise, the fake business work and the safety net, you leave you are left with a terrifying, clear mirror. You feel me? Nothing you can really see. Damn, I do got time. Damn, I can do it. Damn, I can, you know, keep pushing. You feel me? Like without dress cutie, you fail. You fail a day that means only one thing. You actually choose to stay exactly where you are. This is it. You just want to stay right here. This cool being right here. You feel me? You no longer blame the environment, the time, or the energy. You look at the work you and you look at your life and say, I prefer being weak. If the realization doesn't make you sick, nothing will. You feel me? So if you know you just gave up, just nigga look at yourself like, no, I don't give a fuck about my body. I'm finna go out here and go hunting. Fuck that. I don't give a fuck about my mental health. I'm finna go out here and you know do what I do. I don't give a fuck about my family. I'm finna go to the club. You feel me? Like, you gonna like face the facts that just you don't that you don't want to be shit. Face the fact that you don't want to do nothing. Like once you face that fact, you get way more peace. Like I know motherfuckers who don't give a fuck about you know raising their kids. They can get the kids away. You feel me? They shit fuck that. The daddy wants them, let them get them, you feel me? And if that makes you at peace with yourself, do it. Don't be having the kids around them, you want them. Fuck that. Give them to somebody who wants them. Don't go get it, don't have no kids and you want to mistreat them. You feel me? Get them kids to somebody who wants them. You feel me? So put that in your mind, man. Put it in your life, man. Face the brutal truth of whatever it is. I don't want to be shitting. I just like, I just, I'm just gonna have to be miserable at this job. I'm just gonna have to do what they say and then suck it up. Once you tell yourself that, watch how you come in work the next day. Overjoyed, bitch. I'm here, get what you finna do. Come in that bitch with your shirt tucked in. You finna come in that motherfucker clean. You finna come, you finna be the best worker. Because now you done got yourself over that hump. Over like, oh shit, I don't you know, I don't know to I don't give a fuck. I'm I'm I'm here. Now I'm finna, you know, you know how the motherfuckers that work to be the best workers, they ain't know what they want to do, but they said, fuck it. This is what feeds my family. I'm finna be the best in this bitch. I'm finna show these motherfuckers how to work. I'm finna be the manager in this motherfucker. Something. You feel me? Like, yeah, this is why ain't nothing wrong with not with working or uh doing what you gotta do, but let yourself know that I'm all right, nigga, this is what we doing. This is this this is the program. This is what I'm doing. I'm I'm not going through that type of stress. This is the stress I'm going through. You know, you choose your damn stress levels. You feel me? You choose that. That's why I'm saying, like you choose a level of income, you choose the level of stress too. You say you can, you, you set your temperature to dealing with that type of stress, shit. That's you. That's you. It don't matter if it makes your ass bleed out the eye. It don't matter if you make your damn um your ass have a uh a hemoglobin. You feel me? What matters is you guess what? You chose this shit. This is what matters now. You chose to over one of work all motherfucking day. You chose this over chilling with the family. You chose this over running around and being intentional working out instead of working out because you say, oh, I'm working out at work. But you finna get out of work and go out there and sit the whole cottage, all them cottages. You just lost their work, you finna go get them right back. Or you finna go get it on lunch. Your ass finna go eat a whole motherfucking shit, a three-person meal on lunch. So it's it's no, some shit is no, you know, isn't it's no, it's just too many ways that damn subconscious mind can just give you an excuse to do some bullshit. So it's new thing from here on, we not thinking about no bullshit. We thinking about, hey, I know what I gotta do. And I'm finna do it. That's it. That's all I'm thinking about. I'm not thinking about what I can't do. I can do something today. You know you can. And what it is I'm gonna do it, I'm not. Just admit it so you can let that so you can breathe again. Because you can't breathe once you got with that damn tab open. What I tell y'all about that tab, you got that tab that's sitting there. That tab is gonna sit in your brain. You gotta do that. You gotta go handle it. You gotta tell them folks that you ain't gonna do that or you gonna do that. You feel me? So handle that business, man. I hope this video in some type of way, man. If it did, man, y'all like, comment, and subscribe, man. Y'all stop playing your time, y'all stop playing y'all like, man. Let's get a list. Yo, man.
