Ever feel like you’re trying to build a completely new life, but the old version of you keeps showing up to run it?
We talk a lot about setting big goals, adopting fresh habits, and reinventing ourselves. But here is the hard truth: a new vision cannot survive on an old foundation. If your internal operating system—your standards, daily boundaries, and core beliefs—hasn't been updated, your old habits will quietly dismantle every piece of progress you make.
In this episode, we break down how to stop putting temporary fixes on deeper identity issues and start building a baseline that actually supports who you are becoming.
Yo, it's your main man, Rahin, Rah C L man. Man, you can read all the books. Man, you can take all the classes. Man, you can complete all the courses. You feel me? You can have a totally new mindset. But if you step back into that same environment, you feel me? That exact same social circle responding to the exact same daily triggers, your old life will drag you right back down. You feel me? Right back to it. If you over here changing something up, but you still hanging around the same people, man. Most people are what? They're gonna fall back into the long-term change because they treat their mind to like a switch in the head. You feel me? While leaving their reality completely untouched, your space, your circle, and your automatic reactions are pulling you towards what you want to become, acquiredly anchoring you to be you. You feel me? Like something either holding you back or something ain't holding you back. It's really that simple. You you know when the mother, when you done slip back into your old routine, and you done went back in that fridge, and you done went in there, bitch for an hour, two hours, just whipping up some shit, just putting some shit together. You said you ain't even have no motherfucking food, but you done went in there and put some shit together because you were slipping back to your old habits, right? In this video, man, we are running a complete audit on three critical eras, your physical space, you feel me, your relationships, and your daily hidden triggers. This is something I go through all week, every day. You feel me? It's a different way, different method. Like it's it's it's so many ways you can go with these things. You feel me? So by the time you finish watching this video, man, you have a clear framework to trip away the friction. You feel me? Establish hard boundaries and design an environment that makes you makes your success to the path of least resistance, right? Because this is what you want, man. You don't want to be like going once you resist something, it it just makes it come even faster, right? So let's go to the least resistance, man. The less we think about it, the less we gonna what wanna act on it, right? So the first thing we starting off talking about today is man, the physical environment audit, right? Like auditing our space, right? Your physical space continually shapes your cognitive load and behavior. When your space is cluttered or full of friction, your willpowers get drained. You dig like today. I gave myself, I said, look here, bro, first thing we're doing today, like because I've been behind on my on my recording, right? So the first thing I say I'm doing today was what getting up, getting straight to this. I ain't took no shower. I went running, I did me some pull-ups, and I'm right here. Like I was used to taking me a shower, you know, sit around and and and light up a blunt, then be writing my title, no blunt. You feel me? No shower, Raheem. That's what I told myself, Raheem. Like I I I control these bitch today. Rain, you switching up and you wanna get in the shower, nigga. Nah, we alright. You struggle in one mile, you good? You look got a little sweat in, but the sweat didn't dry it off as I was writing my title today. So I made sure I got that out the way. Because I know the hardest part is what me getting right here and me recording. So let me see how this free wheel really works, right? Because some people think free wheel is a motherfucking illusion. You feel me? So let me get in and get myself right so I don't, you feel me? I mean, some people thinking like when they do something that it's an illusion, right? So when I'm matching the new foundation, when I'm trying to match up my my new self, I need a new foundation. You feel me? I can't have the old foundation. You feel me? I gotta what match myself up. You feel me? That's what we focusing on. You feel me? Like, you gotta match up yourself, you feel me? Like, step one, map your core spaces, identify place where you spend 80% of your time. Home, office, bedroom, kitchen, car. You feel me? Like, where you spend your time here? I spend most of my time down there at home and in the car. You feel me? Like that's most of my time, you feel me? So, who with me at home? Nobody. Who with me in the car? Nobody. So I have no excuses not to get done when I need to get done. You feel me? So me having those things is my core, I know it's nobody stopping me but me. I know there ain't nobody in my way but me. I know it ain't nobody fucking up my what foundation. You feel me? Because I am organizing it right. Like, step two is to categorize items into three zones. Friction points. Eliminate or hide. This means do I need to eliminate or let's get rid of this shit, right? Items that trigger bad habits or mental clutter. Example, phone charges next to the bed, junk food on the counter, or uh unorganized paperwork. You feel me? Like, do I need to eliminate this or don't or do I need to hide this? You feel me? Like, some shit you need to get rid of. You feel me? Like right now, no food in front of me. None. You feel me? Um, I used I ate me two pieces of watermelon this morning before I went running, or any, I thought I came back. But I not two pieces, just two bites. You feel me? Two good ass. You feel me? Like it's my juice. Like, go ahead and get right. You feel me? There's something simple. Like people look at eating shit, but you eat junkies, like you eat a whole bag of Cheetos in the morning, time. Like, just get rid of that dumb shit from you in the morning. Like right now, I haven't I'm I'm rolling off nothing but what wild melon. Like, and I didn't went to the bathroom. So just knowing what I need to release and knowing what I need to keep or hide is it's always pertinent to your growth. You feel me? Because sometimes you don't don't you don't need to see that shit. You smoke cigarettes all day, you don't need to have a pack of cigarettes in front of you when you're trying to do something. No, it's gonna slow you down. You feel me? Hide it, get it out the way for now. You feel me? Like let there be your what? Like let there be your reward at the end, like neutral zone, right? Organized, standard uh functional items that don't directly affect your goals, right? Neutral zone, organize, standard functional items that don't directly affect your goals. So just put shit in the way that if it don't affect your goals, man, organize and get it out your way. You feel me? Like some shit, if you feel like it it do, yeah. You can leave it there. You feel me? But if it got a strong hole in you where you gotta keep looking at it and keep going over it, leave it alone. You feel me? In the prime catalyst, right? Highlight primitive visual queries that trigger your new desire. Example, a visible, a visible bottle of water, a clean des only that with the current task, books related to your target mindset. You feel me? This is what I got in front of me. That's what I got beside me. You feel me? Things that I know help me. Everybody around me right now help me. All my books. I got my um my notepad in front of me. I got my Bible, I got my my daily plan or my hour plan. Like, I got my budget. You feel me? Like just these are people that help me. Like these are real hermans right now. You feel me? These books are alive. You feel me? Like my my word, my writing is alive. You feel me? Like what I put on paper, that's alive to me. So these are my friends, these are the people I talk to. You feel me? Like, this is who I come to myself and I vent to. You feel me? This is where I vent to my journals. This is where I vent to my things that I know what require the good in me. You feel me? They don't take the bad out of me, don't pull the bad shit out of me. They just ask me questions. You feel me? So that's how I redesign my rules. You feel me? I make good habits require one step, and bad habits require five steps. If you want to spend less time scrolling, put your phone in another room. Five, I mean, for um, room, five steps. If you want to write daily, um leave the notebook open in the pen in the desk, you feel me? This one step. You feel me? Like, I got my book, my book is on the counter right here. But as soon as I open the book up, boom, I'm already on the top. You feel my here go right. You feel me? As soon as I open this book back up, it's already in there. Boom. One step. You feel me? And this is how I do it. Like, if you want something like green, you make time for it. I I haven't been making time for reading, so I'm making time for it. I'm gonna put two, three minutes in, two, three chapters in. Like, just as soon as I open it up, boom, just start back reading. You feel me? Like, and I like to read books like thoroughly. Like, I don't read books fast like everybody else no more. Like, I usually just read them and get them out the way and chunk them. Now I like to read them. I do what I like to do with these. Like, I see how I got all these books. I went in these books, but I used to read them straight through. But now I slow all the way down on how I read because I try to actually implement what I'm reading. And next thing is, man, step two, man, the race flip audit, man. You don't need to cut off everyone, but you do need to be intentional about who influences your head space. People generally fit their three categories, and here they go. The drainers, the the drainers, you feel me? Limit their ass. The anchors, they protect them and the propellers seek out, you feel me? Drainers, they undermine your new goals, trigger old defensive behaviors, and trick and project their own insecurities onto your progress. You feel me? The immediate action to take when you got them motherfucking people who draining you around, set new boundaries, man. Shift low frequency, like communication, limit time meeting or avoid discussing specific goals with them. Like you sometimes, you can't just tell shit to them because they ready to what pull you down. They really just drain your energy. They ready to tell you that it's not gonna work. So you got to go. You feel me? Like, I had those people in my life. I was like, damn, they don't think you talk to me one time. Man, get on. You feel me? And then this just is what it is. You can't even get mad at them because this is how they is. You feel me? You got the anchorage, you feel me? Family slash friends who love you but keep treating you like the old self out of habit and comfort. You feel me? That's your mama, this your that's your sister, that's your you know, that's your brother. That those are the people that are close to you. So they're gonna see only what the old you, they're not gonna see the new you, they can't reframe expectations. You feel me? Gently signal to your new boundaries through change behavior and rather than long um explanations, like fuck talking about it. They're gonna see that you're about it once you uh don't do it once you like once you don't entertain what they're talking about no more. So once once they see that, guess what? They aren't gonna be let go, they'll stop the bullshit and the propellers. You feel me? People who embody the mindset, standards, or habits you are scribbling to adopt. You feel me? Proactively seek it, seek out, engage in communities, active accountability partners in spaces where their standards are baseline. You feel me? You got the people who propel you, people who gonna lift you up. That's the running club, that's the book club, that's the goddamn recording club, that's the goddamn um, that's the movie club. Like, these are the people who lifting you up. So let's focus on them. Like, let's focus on the people who propel us. You feel me? You're not on what I'm on, bro. Ain't no wrong with that, but I can't be on what you want because it's nothing that you own. You feel me? If you want nothing long enough, I'm gonna get it on it with you, and we both gonna be on nothing. So we both gonna be failing. They're both gonna be what failures. So then step three is man, the daily trigger, man. Like, what triggers that habit? You feel me? Like, like let's out of that habit. Like everything we talk about is talking about auditing something. You know, you gotta see what's what's what's what. You feel me? And once we conduct it, man, triggers are in environmental and sensory cure that automatically initiate old habits. You feel me? Conduct a a trigger log for three days. Notice every time you slip into the old habit, feelings or thought pattern, you are trying to outgrow, write down or precise uh sequence, right? Where was I? What time was it? Who was I with? Was it an immediate emotional state? What action did I take? You feel me? Like just knowing these, like where you was when that shit happened. You feel me? Knowing what time was it? You feel me? Knowing who was you with? Knowing what was your immediate emotional state? Boredom, stress, fatigue? You feel me? Like, how did it make you feel? And what actions you take? Like, once you know these, now you identified your triggers. You identified like what the fuck made you, oh hell no, every time I go over there with that shit, nah, I don't I ain't I don't be feeling it. You feel me? Once you know your triggers, you're not gonna pull it all the time. Cause you know how you you finna get people not gonna fuck with you because they know your triggers. You feel me? Like, you know how people don't fuck with you because you know your triggers, because they know your triggers. You should be the same way because you know your triggers. You feel me? You should be the same way about yourself. Like, we we do so much for other people to the point that we won't do it for ourselves. You feel me? We'll do so much to make sure that people see what's doing good, but we won't do so much to make sure ourselves doing good. Like, that's how I train my body, train my mind. Like, I don't I don't care if you see it, no, I ain't gotta post it all, but I can show you personally if you want to. I'll record a little bit of it. Here you go. You feel me? Or I can show you that this year the proof for the days, man, it's all about proofing because everybody lying. I mean, everybody lying, so I'll keep me a little proof on deck somewhere. You feel me? So keep that, keep that proof, man. Keep that going, right? And let's let's get into these man, let's get into these Bible verses, man. You know, I had to get to the Bible verses for y'all. You know I did. You know I did, you know I did, you know I did. Oh no, this is not this is not the one about the Bible verses. But anyway, though, but this is the one. This is I'm gonna I'm gonna get on the vibe versus tomorrow. That's for tomorrow. My bad, y'all, my bad, my bad. But anyway, let me just get y'all to wrap up on this though. Like, match the new foundation. Just match it, just match it, match it, match it, match it. Whatever the new you're trying to bring, get rid of some old shit. That's all I'm talking about right now. All I'm talking about this week was getting rid of the old shit. You feel me? You feel me? Like, let's get rid of the root, let's get rid of the root cause, let's get rid of the bullshit, and let's only deal with the good shit. And that's how we become better, that's how we become new, that's how we become neutral. You feel me? Sometimes when you neutral, you don't you ain't it ain't no bad or no good. You feel me? You fuck with everybody. You feel me? You ain't gotta, you know, you it's hard to be like me. It's hard to just you know be cool everything with the with the with the dumb and the small. You feel me, with the uncool and the cool. So you don't gotta be both, but you feel me, but you can what you can make sure that you not just having no type of feelings towards your people who pull you down. You feel me? You ain't gotta let them know that, bro. I ain't fucking with that shit. You ain't gotta let them know they're gonna know by your actions, they're gonna know by how you treat them, they're gonna know by how you move. So let them know through that. You feel me? Like, don't just eliminate them on no heavy hard shit, cuss them out, fucking all this shit. Man, I said I'll be back around. Like, your friends ain't going nowhere. Man, I know that my friends ain't going nowhere. Literally. I'm gonna know where they stay at, live at. Like I do gonna talk to me, say nigga when you ate what y'all. Is it? They're gonna tell me, seeing the address, everything. Ain't shit gonna be changed. They're gonna be still what? Chilling, raising their family, making sure everybody eating good. You feel me? Getting big and dying. That's it. They're gonna wanna guess what? By the time you get back around, they're gonna be like, wish they would have started their journey with you. But it's okay. It's okay. It's still your friend, they're still your dog. You feel me? But know your triggers. Don't know that Joe and your dog to make you say, Boy, I gotta go eat. Let's go eat. Let's go drink. If he pulling it out, you and you're not in that phase of your life right now. You get from around him right and leave him alone. You feel me? Ain't like he's doing it around because he wanna go drink and smoke and have a good time. He don't he don't see life like you see it. If he's happy the way he's happy, let them be, man. And it's real if y'all end away, man. Y'all like, y'all come in, y'all subscribe, man. Y'all let go of them triggers. You feel me? Y'all match the new foundation. You feel me? Match it. Match it. You feel me? What they say? Like, you know how they do the 401k? Man, look at whatever you put on, we're gonna match it. That's how you need to do in your life. Like, whatever, whatever you put on, you need to match it. You feel me? Like, you doing something. If you putting in this right here, the person that you with, they need to match it. Or the thing that you doing, you need to match it. You feel me? You need to make sure that um that we matching, that we looking right. That was this is what we do. We look like a team once we outside. We don't look like no guy. We don't look like we separated. We look like we together. We look like we all one. And that's how you want to be, man. Y'all start playing our time. Y'all stop playing all like, man. Look at the list. Go. Man.
