Chasing someone else’s metric of success is a guaranteed path to burnout. In this episode, we unpack what it takes to abandon the standardized playbook and build a career rooted in actual strength rather than manufactured prestige.
We dive deep into how to spot the warning signs that you’re climbing a ladder leaning against the entirely wrong wall—and how to pivot before wasting years on the wrong peak. Instead of posturing for status and collecting hollow titles, we explore the power of building undeniable "proof of work" and genuine competence. Finally, you’ll learn how to design a professional path that leverages your unique, unfiltered edge rather than forcing yourself into a generic corporate mold.
Yo, it's your main man Rahim Rossiel, man. Let's throw out the traditional playbook today, y'all. Let's get into a real bag of thinking about how we can get into the career that we are hoping for. The career that we are pushing for. The career that we okay, no, okay, this is something where I can see myself. This is something I can see myself doing. This is something I can see myself maintaining and you know, having to a high standard, right? Like every day we look at life, man, we are either living, chasing somebody else, definition of success is a guaranteed way to just burn out, right? We spend years grinding, second facing our time, and claming letters on to realize that the letter was leaning against the wrong completely while the whole time. You feel me? You done got on top of this bitch, and you done looked up. What the fuck? Man, hell no, man. No. This is it. This is the max out. This is it. Oh my God Lord. How long is it gonna take me to climb back down? Shit, about a minute gonna take you to climb up here. Well, god damn, I be damn. I be damn. Thank y'all. Thank y'all so much for y'all time. Thank you. You feel me? In this video, man, we're gonna throw out the traditional career play, but we're gonna talk about how we can break free from the prestigious trap, bruh. I'm tired of it. I know you're tired of it. I'm tired of it. I hurt from it every day. You feel me? So how to get to build an undeniable proof of work instead of just prospering for a status. You dig? And how to design a career around your unique filter edge so you completely become irreplaceable. You feel me? If you're tired of playing by the old fucking rules, man, hit the fucking comment, hit the subscribe button, man. Get into this video, right? Excuse my language, you don't like cussing, right? Recognizing the letter. The prestigious hook. Today, man, like do you actually want your boss's daily calendar or do you just like the prestigious of their title? Like, asking yourself these questions is gonna put you in that mindset of, okay, am I, do I really want to be a boss, or do I, you know, do I really just like, you know, like what he does, like how I make him look, make him highlight him, how you know how I make him feel. You know, you know, just you know, do I like the thought of it? You dig once you audit that shit and see, okay, I like being a worker or I like being a boss. You feel me? It's it's one of the other. There's no it's no in between. You gonna work or you're gonna be the boss? You gonna be the way you're gonna get that ass to work. You dig so how do you want to work? How do what what what do you feel like your stress levels are? Like you need to know this, you need to know what kind of what kind of people can you deal with? You know, what kind of audience do you attract? You need to know this. Like, uh every week I talk about somewhere, I'll talk about somewhere about auditing. Every week we're gonna talk about auditing. You've been listening, we know you gotta audit some shit. Like, what do you once you unpack this shit? Okay. I like helping niggas like this. You feel me? Okay, I like helping people do this. So once you unpack this type of information, you are quick to, you know, know how to move now. Okay, let me go ahead and you know, let me make sure I'm being a good worker. You dig? Then maybe I can be a good ass boss. You know, only a good boss was a good worker one time, anyway. So just knowing, okay, what's the how can I make this process is you know, prestigious? How can I make this process, you know, worthy? You dig like fuck the title, fuck being a boss, is about it's about my responsibilities. What responsibilities am I willing and and able openly to cater to every day on a daily basis? If I'm not willing to openly cater to this shit freely, you dig? If I'm not willing to sit here and talk to a people, group of people freely, or talk to a screen freely, I don't need to be doing it. You dig if I'm always looking for a you know a certain type of conversation for some compensation for something, I shouldn't be doing it. You feel me? Like, as you discuss like the the cognitive toll of your performance art at work and how you are masking your true deposition, you burn out faster than you are, faster than hard. You feel me? Like meaning for work. Like you not doing this shit is you know, okay. You like automotive, you need to be doing something automotive. You're not you like doing something dealing with art, you need to doing something dealing with art. You need like you like helping people with their um get you know, just with their physical health, you need to be doing something with their physical health. Like it's it's something for everybody and everything to do. But it's how you do it and how you look at it is gonna, you know, bring other people out they shall and and allow them to be fulfilled and and do what they want to do in their life. Like, this is a way to pick yourself up. So just check yourself out. Like, nigga, what what's up? Like, you know, what's the work game? Like, this is what I I love talking about work because it's an important part of our life. Like, we don't understand it till certain, like, and I feel like my culture and my age group, like we we didn't get the the importance of getting an education. Most motherfuckers I knew that were females and all them wanted to be teachers. You dig? But the men, the one they all most likely wanted to go to welding. You dig? And other than that, it was over with. I knew I just wanted to go do whatever they didn't do. You dig? So I just, okay, let me go do computers. I should have stuck with computers. You dig? Computers is something, it's a particular. It's a trade, it's a job, it's something you can get, you're feeling. Like industrial technology, that's a feel. You dig? Like business was too broad. So now I'm looking at school in a different perspective. Like, okay, it's just the degree I wanted to get. I wanted to make something easy, and I made it something made it hard for myself, basically. So now that I know better, I do better, right? So I pick myself up on what kind of career do I know what kind of career I would sit there. Would I you gotta have a career that you don't mind taking on for a certain period of time if you want to be a boss anyway? If you gotta have a good career that you don't want a career that's not making any money or a job that's not really bringing in real income. Like you want real income coming in so you can be able to manage your bills that you currently have and you know stack on top of that, right? Let's get into the next section, man. The next section is proof of work versus the status of postering, right? Why credentials matter less than undeniable output? Shift the focus from resume to a building asset. You feel me? Like, you wanna be a motherfucker, you don't want to just look good on paper. You wanna be a motherfucker who can really do it, you dig? Like you wanna stop asking for permission and just build things in public. Like, like you wanna do be able to be able to be that person who just can do things without, you know, needing that recognition all the time. Like once you need the recognition, you're not you're not gonna be real in your career. Once you always need somebody to, you know, to judge you, you're not gonna be your best creative self. You dig? You probably can't come out your shell here because they jobs don't this this job don't allow that side of you. So you wouldn't climb it ladder that you gotta get old. You feel me? You gotta make some type of decision, like which how do I want to grow old? Do I want to grow old sadly? Do I want to grow old poorly? Do I want to grow old gratefully? Do I want to grow old you know joyfully? So just knowing, okay, um, I'm okay, I'm let me create a you know, create tight feedback loops where your the real world results dictate your your progress, not your annual corporate review. Like get some outside of work. If this is not a job not pushing you, I'm making you feel fulfilled. Like, let me get out of this bitch, like, because I'm wasting time here. You can go get money from anywhere. You feel me? But how you get it is very pertinent on on how you're gonna feel in the end, your end game. Like, you say you don't like a job, you need to be trying to get out of there every day. You need to be trying to feel like application, like you don't even work there. You feel me? Uh you got something else you can be doing, you need to be doing it. Like, that's it. That's my opinion on any of any of that. If you're working somewhere, you don't like working there, you need to be at home acting like you don't work there. You need to be at that job, feeling like application. You need to be calling people like you don't got no damn job. Like that's the only way to get into another job. Or if you got something else that you can do, hustle up on. You got a side hustle that you can use, use the side hustle, get the side hustle going. Like, make sure that you are advertising this shit in every way possible. Let everybody know that you know you do this shit. So it's ways to up and and um up your income and stuff that you like doing. It's always an audience for your crowd, like, period. So it's a nigga waiting for to buy some art. It's somebody waiting to buy some surf, it's somebody waiting to get their hair done, it's somebody waiting to go, you know, and and and service, get service done. You walk outside, you're not, you're not going outside for free. Unless you're finna go to the beach or to the park, you dig, but other than that, your ass gotta pay. So no, no, it's uh always a crowd for you, right? So don't don't lose your strength on your whatever you love to do. Don't don't don't lose that that drive, right? So next one is gonna be designing your unfiltered edge, man. Like, when you explain, like it says explain why fitting a generic mode helps you easily replace combining two to three distinctive skills, creates an intersection where you have no competition. Like, whatever you feel like you got an edge on, basically, right? Defining your unique edge. What feels like play to you, but looks like hard to other everybody else, that's what you need to be doing. Like, this feel like easy to you, okay. How can I make this make this a source of you know, source of income? You dig this something I don't mind doing, but everybody else hate doing, then this is a service. This is something I can, you know, service and help other people with. Because it's everybody, everybody got something they do. They don't look, everybody don't like going fishing. Everybody's not finna go out there and go catch no fish. But it's a group of people who don't mind. They they do this for a living, they catch masses with fish. You feel me? They really got this shit as a business. You feel me? It's most people, it's people that hate doing, hate traveling. It's somebody that loves drive traveling truck. You dig it's some people that hate doing this, but it's some people who love doing it. That's how life is made, that's how God, you know, created us. So we that's why we all are uniquely made. Like the ultimate goal, though, you're trying to frame your autonomy and freedom, just not just monetary compensation as true measure of your career success. So y'all heard it says it's not money. You're gonna get the money. People gonna only you know take what they can out your ass anyway. How much you make, baby? Oh, these are this income based off your income. You feel me? Like the shit, it don't give a fuck. But you should want to be able to make more for yourself, so, and do more for yourself. So you'll be making more that way, mentally and physically, and that way you can think and your income grows as you grow. You get smarter as you get smarter. So you seeing that versus that job that's paying all that money, but you look like a bat out of hell every time somebody sees your ass. Like you ain't got no sleep, like your like your head hurt, looking like something wrong with you, never got no time for family, never got no time for no real shit, but you know, but you still trying to hold on to this thing called uh um your job and and this and and it's thinning you out. You're not gonna be able to spend no time with your family, you're not gonna be able to spend no time with the people you love. You feel me? Because you are so focused on the monetary value. Like sometimes they fuck the monetary value. You feel me? What about the stress level? If it's scratching you out and it don't pay you, it's time to go. You dig? If it's paying you, but it's scratching you out, it probably can stay a little longer. But you need to be trying to find something else. It depends on the situation you in that do I have to leave this shit alone? If it's really thinning my hair out, if it's really taking a toll on my mind and my mental, I got to go. So let's get real in our careers, man. Do I really need to be here? You feel me? Am I really pushing the needle on my side hustle? Am I really trying to make it my main job? You feel me? Ask yourself these questions so you can know. All right, I'm not, I ain't doing shit. I don't really want this shit. Let me go ahead and go get me a degree. You feel me? Let me go get me a uh a real degree so I'm gonna give me a real job making a hundred thousand. You feel me? Let me go give me a real, let me go get me some real, a real trade. You feel me? And let me go find a job and look, tell you folks I'm finna go do go to school and I'll be back in a year or two. You feel me? Uh four years, whatever you gotta let them know you're finna come back, though. Stay on their ass. You feel me? Just stay on their ass and let them know you're on the way back, man. I hope this video helped y'all in some type of way, man, because I know it helped me in any, in any and all ways. Cause like just thinking about like, because this is shit I need to hear. This is shit I want other people to know. Like, damn, this nigga was thinking like this way back then. He found the way he gave him a job, he he did this, he or he made that, and you know, and it happened like this. So just have it on your mind, man. Have some type of social direction. So when it's time to go, you know, you know which way you're trying to move. Y'all start playing that time, y'all start playing like, man, I get a less. Go, man.
