You don’t need a two-week vacation to reset your nervous system—you just need 60 seconds.
In this episode, we unpack "Pause Protocols"—micro-interventions you can perform directly at your desk to drop stress, reduce cognitive load, and clear brain fog in real time. Instead of waiting for weekend escapes or long holidays to recover fr
Yo, it's your main man, Ryan R CLY. Man, you don't need a two-week vacation to save your nervous system. You need a 60-second moment just out of your day, just every so often. You dig just to allow yourself to have that thing of, you know, that steady pace. You dig? Like most of us wait until we burn out to, you know, before we crash to just receive recovery. Like you always seen that person just gotta damn. You definitely gotta die to go to the hospital. You gotta die definitely to stop eating this. You feel me? Like, if you wanna like perform at a high rate, you dig? Like you want to keep moving, you want your battery to keep going, man. You gotta start taking microinterventions throughout your day. Like micro interventions throughout your day. Like having that. Uh I gotta chill for a minute. You feel me? Give me a tongue. Like, you know, some people say they smoke break, they chill break, they whatever break you dig. Like today, we are talking about like the pause patrols. These three scientific-based facts that give people their real life relaxation. Like, this is no type of taking no medicine. I'm not telling you to go to take nothing, go do something that's you, you know, that you're not born with, you dig? Like this is some shit that you can do in seconds. Like, you can directly affect how you feel at your dish or at your job or at any environment that you put yourself in, you dig? So let's get straight into it, man. And the first thing is, man, the psychological side. This is this is the simplest one. That's why I say it's 60 fucking seconds, right? Like micro resets. Like you want to quickly inhale through your nose. You feel me? Just breathe, inhale through that bitch. You feel me? Like inhale. Inhale means to breathe in. If you didn't know, you think I'm pretty sure that your ass know that, right? Then one thing you next you do is what? One slow exhale through the mouth. That's it. Every fucking day. You can do that all day throughout the day. Like this is real life. We don't breathe on our own. Like I read this book called, it was like how to breathe, right? And it's basically putting you on game of you not breathing on your own. People think that they breathe on their own. People think that they do this on their own like the hell nah. You don't do that on your own. You do that on command. You did your body, your heart beat on its own all day, but you don't. See how I gotta do that. I intentionally do it. You gotta be intentional. It's like you gotta, when people talking about they work out because they go to work, yeah, it's a it's a cool workout, but you know, you want to be intentional like this. A better one. You feel me? Like, you know, you have those intentional things, you know, that's a better, you you getting all the you getting all the angles basically now. You dig once you do something intentional, you getting every aspect of it now, right? So let's have those intentional small, you feel me? Before you smack a motherfucker, just breathe. Like sometimes you you ain't breathe all day. You ain't you just been so constricted, you got so much tension in your ass. You saw you see a high person walk. You feel me? How they talk. Do they have they that they ain't been breathing? You feel me? They just look too much, too tight. You feel me? They shoulders together, you feel me? They look scared. You feel me? They don't look like they you know ready to ready to fight at all. You feel me? They don't look like they got no type of you know energy to them. You dig because they got so much tension. They're not breathing, they don't think about breathing, they just do it every so often, you feel me? Spontaneously. You dig when a body needs some more oxy they probably yawn or something. You dig? But other than that, they not sitting there having no high, deep breathing section with themselves. They don't think that this is important, they don't think that this is the thing, they don't think that this is something that you really need. You feel me? If you rock with me, your ass need to be breathing every day. You feel me? If you rock with me, you need to be shaking your damn head, shaking your fucking head if you got to shake your head with it. Like, you feel me? You get that thought of like, boy, I tell you, you dig, and you'll leave shit alone, it's you will leave shit alone real quick. Like all the time I used to be mad, I wasn't breathing, I wasn't thinking about no fucking breathing, I wasn't thinking about no technique of how to really like it's a it's a trigger to this shit. Like, I'm reading my book called The Power of Habit right now, and it's like telling you it's triggers to your fucking habit, and it's a way to control your habits. So I'm finna get into this book. Like, it's a lot of books that then traded and that then changed all my habits. Like, you feel me? And I was way worse off with my habits at first. Like my habits was terrible. I didn't know it. But shit, this is how I grew up. So when I knew I decided to change shit, this is what I did, you niggas. So just take your time, right? Then let's get into the next one, man. The next one is the tactical anchoring, right? That tactical anchoring is a mechanism deliberately engaging in physical touch using thermal contrast. Example, like splashing, cold water, holding a chill mug, uh, distinctive textures, or grounding physical pressures, like just putting your hand on something, basically, what's it saying? Like, you wanna put your hand on something. If you don't do nothing, like nigga, let me go touch them, let me go get in the gym. You feel me? Let me go clean up the house. You feel me? That's some people's favorite thing. Let me go clean up. You feel me? Go clean up. Like this will make you feel way 10 times better. Like, this is one thing I love talking about cleaning, wiping your ass, like being, you know, getting Brio chemicals. I'm gonna show y'all on my um on my YouTube too. What I'll be putting on my skin too. You feel me? Like, I don't know. I probably look like I got a whole lot of whole lot of um, but it's just it's just oil. It's nothing but one ingredient. You feel me? One ingredient on my face, right? It's no petroleum, it's none of all that goddamn this and that in there. There's no fragrance in that shit. You feel me? It's just oil, right? But anyway, just making sure that how you feel and what you're doing is is something that you gotta focus on. Like, you gotta focus when you're doing certain shit. You gotta look at this, you feel me? You can't just be doing this and doing it. You probably can be listening to something, but you gotta focus the most on you gotta put your eye on it. You feel me once you gotta put your eye on something, you you're not really thinking about the the um the things that are happening around you feel me. You're not thinking about the things that are going on, you feel me? Because you are what microdosing, right? You're trying to put yourself in a therapeutic form, like you can do this all day, like it's all about perspective. I was talking about this the other day, like man, your perspective is really everything. Like how you look at it, it's you can have therapy anywhere. You can you can um you can just know lock in on something anywhere. You know how some people just got an addiction on playing a game on their phone with some shit going on, or you know, they'll call somebody like it's it's it's natural, it's natural, right? So, and this impact is you rapidly pops up and collapse out the um, well, for you it's force your brain to shift from um focus from internal cognitive loops, overthinking, stress, back to real-time sensory input, snapping out of the out of the fight and flight response, right? So they're saying that shit, look, you getting out there, nigga, because you when you doing it, you thinking about shit that ain't even happening. Ain't nothing going on, bro. You know, you like you really just overthinking right now. Ain't nothing happened. Nothing. Like, what the fuck is wrong with you? You feel me? You ever seen somebody just going out of control for nothing? Like, man, what the hell? Who done got them started? Damn. But they probably going through episode. You never know what people going through. You never know how people's mindset is at that time. So I give everybody grace now. I'm like, damn, bro. He going, he gotta he gotta have his time with that type of shit. You feel me? Everybody's life goes through that type of timing, you know, at some point of the in their life. At some point, they gonna go through that. Oh shit. You feel me? Like, this is too much. But they know they don't know that they gotta go through that. They don't know that they know this is their time that you know have to, you know, feel the feel the pain, basically. Feel the the pains of the gangs. You dig like it's it's it comes pain, you gotta get some pain from something and somebody. You feel me? To have gangs later on in life. Like you, you don't you didn't learn your lesson, that lesson finna repeat itself and it's finna keep on happening. So this is all life is about learning lessons. If you don't learn a lesson, that lesson repeats itself. It don't go to the next person uh un unless you what repeat it with the you know, you haven't really you haven't learned your lesson yet. But once you learn a lesson, bro, you you know how you can do this and shit, you know, you know, I'm not touching that shit. No shit's hot, no. Uh you know, you know, Asian shit I don't like, no, I like that you it's your lesson. You don't like it, so you don't fucking deal with it. It's simple, right? And the next thing is, man, visual blank spaces, y'all. This is the last one mechanism setting up a designated area in your environment void of tech screens or clutter, such as a blank wall, a minis, a minute counter corner, or looking out a window into a distance. So they're just saying, right, setting up somewhere where you can just like not look at nothing. You feel me? Like you just want to minimize like what you're looking at. Like, you know, just looking at something that to clear your mind. They say looking at the sky shit. Like, it's just clear your mind. Like, this is a way to have a micro reset. This is all I'm talking about right now, micro reset, like just something small to do right then and there. Because that's what everybody wants, something quick and they can do. This is something quick to get your mind clear. Go look at the sky. You feel me? Go look at a go look at something, you know, like, you know, just not uh making you feel away. You feel me? Like setting up a designated area in your environment void of text, screens, or clutter, such as a blank wall. Like this is a blank wall. This is a blank canvas. Like I need to get a board right here. You feel me? So I can start writing on that bitch and show y'all what I be talking about on my on some more topics, right? But anyway, man, looking out in that window, just it's just gonna put you into uh, you see, like the clear sky. You feel me? Just put that mind like at ease. Like everything I get now has been like ocean and shit. Like you don't wanna see nothing. Like when you look at that, you know, it's not giving your mind up a specific goal, it's just thinking about you know, abundance, flowing, water. You feel me? When shit, water, shit is flowing, right? And this impact on this, right? It gives the optic nerve a rest. You feel me? Like you reducing stress, like reduce continuous visual prices and demand, and lower cognitive load to allow real-time mental recovery. And that's what it does. That's what I was trying to get to. Like, this is what it does for real. Like, when you're looking at something, like you can your mind, your mind, like think about when you're looking at somebody on Facebook or somebody on social media or on any social media platform or anything, period. You can looking at the magazine, it's giving your mind something to think about, or you can be listening to something, it's giving your mind something to think about. Like when I'm on some peace shit, I'll just play me some jazz. It's like I got a playlist, it's this nigga named something, Jay White or something. But anyway, it's like he got like a whole bunch of done, like this almost like study movies to me. And I listen to while I study, like it's not you don't hear no words, it's just hear the beat. It don't make you want to rap. It's just a little cool little look. It's just, you know, uh damn near a hum, but it's not, it's jazz, like it's a bunch of like low. I don't know, they gotta have some saxophones or something, something going on in them bitches, but it's like horns. And you don't, you know, it's just clear your mind out. Study you hearing words or you seeing visuals or shit. Man, relax. I don't need that right now. Damn, let me look, let me look at nothing. When you go on break, let me look at nothing. Let me look at this guy. You feel me? And you look at this guy, you really looking at your own mind on paper. I mean, I mean, just in your mind now. You really looking at your own thoughts. You're giving your brain a break. Because when you look at people, you're judging people, you're thinking about them, you're caring for them, you're showing sympathy for them. Like your brain, like, damn, I'm tired of being nice. God damn, can I relax? You just say, hey, look, everybody in here, Rain. I'm tired. You feel me? I'm tired of telling people they look good today. I'm tired of telling people I like the shoes. I'm tired of telling people I like your hair. You feel me? I'm tired of telling people, man, you put that shit on today. You feel me? Like, my brain, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna give my brain a task every day, all day. I'm not gonna look at you if I know you and not say nothing. You feel me? I'm not gonna look at you and I know you and just pass by you. No, I'm gonna, what up? What the fuck? What's up? You feel me? Like, I'm just no, fuck that. I gotta say something because I I know that's rule. That is rule. You feel me? The older I get, the more I'm like, man, say something. What up, bro? I don't give a fuck. Where you at, what you doing, man? What's up? Be alright? That's what's up. You feel me? Keep pushing. Like, you gotta learn to goddamn it have that type of um mechanism at periods of time in your life for sure. But it's sometimes, man, you don't need to say nothing. If you don't need to say nothing, you need to be in the house, though. You feel me? Like, when you don't feel like seeing people or being around people, DoorDash. You feel me? Get us into the house. Like, get this shit, like um, order it. Like, don't be a you're not a people person go right now. You don't feel like being a people person, don't be out making people day fucked up because you your day going bad. Like, don't be that person. Like, go get you a visual, go so outside, sit in your backyard, even you ain't got no backyard. Go to the park and take a walk. Go look at the trees. You feel me? Go talk to the trees. You feel me? Go talk to God. Like, for real. Reset your mental. Because this is this is a big thing on a lot of us males, and females, you feel me? Like a man, don't he don't get to reset. Like some days, nigga, I gotta work all fucking day. I'm gonna look up. I'm gonna work all day today. Fuck it. It is what it is. You feel me? This is what niggas do. It is. But I'm saying, nigga, how I'm gonna work the right way. Now I'm gonna work for this. I want this right here. I'm on this, right? I want that. I'm like, okay, I gotta start doing this now. I gotta start putting this down. You feel me? Like it's different techniques, and it don't take, it don't just take you just, you know, everything just changed over. Now it's just take you changing that day. You feel me? Just think about that day. What can I do this day to make tomorrow better? Like then that shit just grows. It really does. Like if I ain't seen nothing grow, I've seen a lot of shit grow. For real. A lot of situations too. Like, you know, different situations just play all the way out to the end. Damn. That's how that went. I hope they're cool. Hope that shit get better. You feel me? Like, you know, you just everything, you know, I just hope everything grows. You know, I got faith for everything gonna grow. You feel me? Because shit growing, you dig, but you gotta, you know, you gotta you gotta keep maintaining it. Like, that's the main, that's the main thing. People can do anything, but maintaining this people's problem. So that's what we gotta fix it, man. So let's start microdosing, putting ourselves in that position where we not having all this stress build up, all this tension build up. We loose, we happy, we loving, we caring, we joyous. You feel me? We very happy. Like that's what we want. Nobody wanna be mad all fucking day, don't nobody want to be sad all day. Don't nobody want to walk around moping and and slow poping and shit, not trying to get somewhere. Don't nobody want to be around nobody uninspired or uh not happy all day. Like that shit is fucking draining. So get y'all mind together, man. Get your life together, man. Marco dose throughout your fucking day. Go go around this shit back and do those three things I told you to do today. And I promise you it's gonna ease your day, man. It's it's this facts to this shit. Everybody else didn't look through this shit and researched this shit. I can tell you about the research and I can give you all the sources and all that extra shit, but you can go look at it for your damn self. I'm just a I'm just a messenger. That's all I am, right? I'm a messenger. Don't look at me as no scientist, no, no expert, no, no this or no that. I am just a messenger. I'm giving you a message. You don't gotta take this in or believe it or or think it's true or false. Whatever I'm saying, look it up on Google. You feel me? Give yourself a give yourself a thorough look at it. I'm just a messenger, man. Let's go, man.
