Life I Love with Chas

Episode 8: Gracefully Grieving the Life We Envisioned with Dr. Jackson

Chasmin Moses Season 1 Episode 8

On today’s episode, I chat with Dr. Jackson about her journey from deep East Oakland, to becoming a doctor.

Dr. Brigée Jackson is a native of Oakland, CA, a follower of Christ, a lover of all things food, and everything for the ‘99 and ‘00. She is the youngest of three and the baby of an entire generation. She has always been a keen observer of people with a curiosity for understanding the connection between thought, feeling and behavior.

She earned a Bachelors of Science from Howard University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Administration of Justice. Later, she earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Currently, she is working in the field of Forensics, supporting the reintegration of individuals who have been institutionalized due to criminality and acute mental illness. Her dream is to bridge the gap between faith and mental health, and create a space for healing soul wounds and drawing people closer to God. Her biggest flex is being the mother of her daughter, Kathryn Grace, who is by all accounts, God’s greatest blessing in her life.

This conversation with Dr. Jackson is full of love and light. My biggest takeaway is the importance of letting go of what you envisioned for your life - and learning how to lead a life you love, regardless of your circumstances.

Let’s get into it!
