Aware And Prepared
Hello! This is the Aware and Prepared podcast. I'm your host, Mandi Pratt, a trained domestic violence advocate. I teach women and vulnerable populations how to be street smart. I'm a mom with a gnarly backstory from almost two decades ago. The FBI showed up at my door one day to alert me that my abusive ex had become wanted for multiple bank robberies. Our story was in the news (a few times). I was tired of feeling vulnerable and learned how to keep myself and my son safer. I wish when I was a young woman I'd known about red flags to watch for in relationships, and had learned how to be street smart. This podcast is for 15-year-old me and is meant for families and community groups to listen to together. After all, women's safety is a community issue. I'll share with you stories like mine and interview detectives, psychologists and many other experts to NOT only hear their jaw-dropping stories, but also what we learn from them to prevent harm for our every youth and grown up listening. I don't want anyone else to have to go through what I did - scared, vulnerable and needing decades of counseling and healthcare to heal. I want you to feel safer with less fear and more power!

Hey, welcome back to the Aware and Prepared podcast. Today is a little bit different. I just wanted to pop in and take a second to remind you what's available to you through this community.
So for free, you get this podcast and a weekly companion email that goes along with it and brings the episode link straight to your inbox, plus a little extra from me, places I'm traveling, photos, and a little something I call a moment of peace at the end of every email. So this is only once a week, and it has some very helpful things in it, very short. People seem to really like it.
I also travel nationwide from my home base in California to speak to students, educators, HR teams, and more on topics like personal safety, emotional safety, like boundaries, intuition, resilience, and then also nervous system regulation.
So this summer, I'm also running a few in-person trainings focused on emotional and physical safety, so you can live safer with more peace. The best way to stay connected and not miss any of this is to make sure you're on the weekly email list.
So the podcast companion email list. So you would just scroll to the bottom of the show notes on any episode and tap where it says, "Send me a message." So you can use it to drop your email in there and make sure you're not missing out on anything, or you can ask me a question, or you can just say hello. I'd love to hear from you.
Another way to connect with me is through social media, so you can find me on Instagram at womenawareandprepared, so that's plural, women with a E-N, awareandprepared. And then on LinkedIn, just as my name, Mandi Pratt. That's Mandi with I, and then Pratt's P-R-A-T-T.
So I hope to connect with you, and thank you so much for listening to the podcast. If you want to leave a review, that helps the show reach more people, so I can help others live safer with more peace as well. So once you are in your listening app there, you'll see in Apple, if you just scroll down to the bottom of the episodes, you'll see the stars down there, and you can click the number of stars, and you can even say something if you want. Or in Spotify, I believe it's in the top right-hand corner, like the dropdown menu, uh, I believe. So yes, I read those, and I so appreciate it when you guys drop the reviews in.
So I hope to connect with you guys either through email, so you just go send me a message, give me your email address, and I will make sure only I- my eyeballs see that, and then it is literally just me sending out these emails. Or connect on social media. I would love to see who you are and be able to say hello to you there. So let's connect, and until next week, take care. You are worthy of a safe and peaceful life. Talk to you next week.
