As well as being an RN, Yamel is an IBCLC and a Doula, supporting birthing people in various settings throughout their labour and birth experiences, and today she is joined by two midwives - Amy Reinke, a hospital-based midwife and Mary Catherine Hamelin, a home-birth midwife. Together with Yamel, they dive into the crucial topic of navigating the complexities of childbirth advocacy in the United States, discussing how you can be an active part of your birth experience, the importance of having a birth plan (download your Birth Plan Template here) and how to build your team in order to have a positive birth experience.
