Alright, for those of you who don't know, I attended a women's conference last month called Powerhouse Women. It's in Scottsdale, Arizona. If you are listening to this and curious about it, I would highly recommend you going or looking into it for next year. This was my second time going to the conference. I went last year. I had a really great experience, and so I decided to go again this year. It literally is a conference where you're in the room with hundreds of other women who are
doing things just like you. It's amazing, it's the energy in the room's insane. I've met the most amazing women, amazing humans that are all doing really incredible things. And so if you are listening to podcast and curious about it, I would head over to the Powerhouse Women Instagram account and check it out and follow them. But I wanted to get on here and talk about something that one of the speakers talked about that really hit home with me today. And it was a panel interview actually of
four or five female entrepreneurs, one of which had the message that really hit home with me, Lori Carter. And she was talking about having the audacity. And you might be thinking like, what the hell are you talking about? Well, she was talking about in context, in more context, about how she was speaking at an event. And another speaker, a woman, came into the speaker's room where everyone was getting ready and she was all setting up and had her.
ring light and her staff filming her and she was getting ready and putting her makeup on and doing her hair and everything. But she was filming all of it for B-roll content. And Lori was sitting there talking about how she was thinking about that woman and thinking the audacity for her to do that instead of work the room, meet the other speakers, know, everybody play nice kumbaya. She was really focused on cranking out her content and getting what she needed. And that message really hit home for me because I was sitting there thinking like, why not have the audacity?
Like who freaking cares if someone's gonna sit there and judge you for filming or sit there and say like, what is she doing? Who does she think she is? Because at the end of the day, what are they doing? Okay, I literally have to think about that all the time because I still feel cringe when I'm on camera. I still feel cringe when I'm sitting there getting ready to hit post. And that feeling doesn't go away. It's not gone away over the years as I've been on this journey. And so why not be audacious?
