Prior to coming to TCSA in January 2014, David served as executive director of the Tennessee County Commissioners Association. Before that, he served on the legal staff of the County Technical Assistance Service. He received his bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College in Memphis in political science and a law degree from Vanderbilt University.
Wes joined CTAS in 2021, bringing extensive experience in corporate and nonprofit marketing, communications, and digital strategy.
Wes earned his Master of Science in Communication and Information from UT Knoxville in 2023; he also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University.
Jon Walden has been with the University of Tennessee’s County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) since 1993 and was appointed Executive Director on December 1, 2021, following service as Interim Executive Director from May 2020 to November 2021. In this role, he leads statewide efforts to support Tennessee’s 95 county governments through technical assistance, training, and information services, advancing CTAS’s mission of promoting better county government.
Prior to his current role, Walden served as Manager of Information Technology and Environmental Services from 2002 to 2020.
Walden holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Tennessee State University, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Public Service from Lipscomb University, and a Business Management certificate from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. He is also a graduate of the University of Tennessee Executive Leadership Institute.
