042: How to Spiritually Heal the Narcissism–Codependency Cycle Through the True Meaning of Namaste
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the most intractable problems in healing — narcissism and codependency, the trauma bond, the cycle of giving too much and receiving too little — could be resolved not by changing the other person, but by clearing your own inner world?
What if the path to unconditional acceptance — of yourself, of others, of all that has happened — was not a spiritual achievement reserved for the most advanced practitioners, but the natural result of removing what has been blocking it all along?
This is Part 2 of a two-part series on the eternal victory of light over darkness. In Part 1, Ananta Ripa Ajmera explored the Bhagavad Gita's teaching that the greatest demon lives within — and that every outer darkness can only reach us through an inner resonance that can be permanently cleared. In this episode, she takes that teaching all the way to its most luminous conclusion.
Through the lens of Namaste — the ancient Sanskrit greeting that means "the divine in me bows to the divine in you" — Ananta explores what becomes possible when the inner clearing goes deep enough that we begin to see not through the distorted lens of our own unprocessed material, but through the clear eyes of the soul itself.
You'll discover:
- The full spiritual meaning of Namaste — and why most of us cannot truly mean it until we have done the inner work
- Why narcissism and codependency are two expressions of the same root wound — and why healing one requires understanding both
- How clearing trapped emotions, broadcast messages, and subconscious patterns through the Body Code and Emotion Code withdraws the inner resonance that the trauma bond and narcissistic cycle need in order to persist
- Why awakening spiritually without inner clearing leaves us projecting our unhealed self onto others — and what changes when the field clears
- The difference between spiritual bypassing and genuine unconditional acceptance — and how to know which one you are experiencing
- What remains when all the trapped emotions, inherited patterns, despair anchors, and subconscious programs have been released: a divine, unconditional acceptance of all that is — the purest love available to a human soul
- Why the eternal victory of light over darkness is not a future event — it is the present truth, revealed
For empaths, holistic healers, coaches, therapists, and anyone who has spent years trying to heal narcissistic abuse, the trauma bond, or codependency patterns without reaching the root — this episode offers the most complete resolution Ananta has experienced.

Welcome to True to Yourself — your soulful companion on the journey home to yourself. I am so glad you are here. Whatever you are carrying today, whatever season you find yourself in — you are in exactly the right place. Let's begin.
In Part 1 of this conversation, we explored the eternal victory of light over darkness — through the lens of Diwali, through the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita, through the profound realization that every obstacle was an opportunity and every outer demon was resonating with something within that was ready to be healed.
We arrived at perhaps the most important teaching of this entire series: that the greatest demon is ultimately the one that lives within. And that when we clear the inner resonance, we remove the invitation for the outer darkness to reach us.
Today, I want to take that even further.
Because once we begin to truly clear the inner world — once the trapped emotions, the inherited patterns, the subconscious programs and broadcast messages have been released at the root — something extraordinary becomes possible.
We begin to see differently.
Not just ourselves. Everything. Everyone.
And the ancient Indian greeting that most of the world knows simply as a beautiful gesture — Namaste — holds the key to understanding exactly what that seeing reveals.
In the Indian tradition, when we greet one another, we bring our hands together at the level of the heart. We bow our heads slightly. And we say: Namaste.
It is a word that most people in the Western world know from yoga classes. But its meaning runs so much deeper than a greeting, or a closing, or a cultural gesture.
Namaste comes from the Sanskrit: namas — I bow — and te — to you. But the full meaning of what is being bowed to is what matters.
Namaste means: the divine in me bows to the divine in you.
Not the personality. Not the history. Not the wound, or the conditioning, or the accumulated karmas and behavioral patterns. Not the fears or the projections or the illusions.
The divine. In me. Bowing to the divine. In you.
This greeting assumes something radical. It assumes that beneath every human being — beneath every personality, every trauma, every defense mechanism, every unconscious pattern — there is a divine essence. Unchanging. Uncorrupted. Eternal. Completely whole.
And it assumes that the person offering the greeting has access to their own divine essence — enough access to recognize it in another, even when everything on the surface might suggest otherwise.
Now here is what I have come to understand about why this is so difficult — and why it becomes so natural once the inner clearing has gone deep enough.
When we are full of our own unprocessed material — when the trapped emotions, the despair anchors, the inherited wounds, the broadcast messages are still running in our field — we cannot see clearly. We project. We see in others what we have not yet faced in ourselves. We respond to the present moment through the lens of the past. We mistake the person in front of us for the people who hurt us. We mistake our own inner story for objective reality.
In this state, Namaste is something we can say. But we cannot fully mean it. Because we are not yet seeing the divine in the other. We are seeing our own unhealed self, reflected back.
But as the field clears — as the material that was distorting our perception is released, one layer at a time — something begins to happen that I can only describe as the gradual return of true sight.
We start to see people as they actually are. Not as the roles they play in our inner drama. Not as the faces of our wounds. As human beings — carrying their own accumulated histories, their own unhealed material, their own inherited patterns — doing the best they can with what they have been given.
And from that seeing, Namaste becomes not just a word but a lived reality.
The divine in me recognizes the divine in you. Not because I have to. Because I can finally see it.
I want to speak directly now to something that I believe is one of the most painful and seemingly intractable problems in modern healing culture.
Narcissism and codependency.
These two patterns seem, on the surface, to be opposite problems requiring opposite solutions. The narcissist, we are told, is the one who takes. The codependent is the one who gives too much. One is the predator; one is the prey. One has too much self; one has too little.
And yet — as I have moved deeper and deeper into the understanding of how energy actually works, of how our inner field attracts and resonates with outer experiences — I have come to see something that changed the entire way I understand both of these patterns.
They are two expressions of the same root wound.
Both narcissism and codependency arise from a fundamental disconnection from the divine essence within. The narcissist has filled that disconnection with a false self — a constructed identity that demands external validation because it cannot access the intrinsic worth that lives within. The codependent has filled that disconnection with self-erasure — giving, giving, giving to others because they cannot access their own worthiness without external confirmation that they are needed, useful, loved.
Two different strategies. The same root.
And the resolution — the genuine, lasting resolution — cannot come from fixing the other person. It cannot come from leaving, or setting better boundaries, or understanding the psychology more thoroughly. These things help. But they do not reach the root.
The root is cleared from within.
When I released the trapped emotions and despair anchors and broadcast messages that were creating the resonance in my own field — the "hurt me," the "I am unworthy," the "I'll always be alone" — I stopped being a match for the experiences that had reflected those beliefs back to me.
Not because I became harder. Not because I built better walls. Because the invitation was withdrawn. Because what the outer experience needed in order to reach me was no longer there.
This is how you resolve narcissism and codependency at the root — not by changing the narcissist, and not by becoming less empathetic. By becoming so clear, so grounded in your own divine essence, so fully present in the truth of who you are — that the distorted mirror no longer has anything to reflect.
You yourself are our own greatest friend or our own worst enemy — as the Gita teaches. And when we choose to be our own greatest friend — through the devoted, courageous work of clearing what blocks us from our own divine essence — we stop needing the outer world to play out our inner conflicts for us.
We start to see the world not as a battlefield but as what it has always been, beneath all our projections.
A divine mirror. Everywhere. In everyone. In everything.
Reflecting back, finally, the light that we have always been.
If what I have been describing — the clearing of inner resonances, the recovery of true sight, the resolution of patterns like narcissism and codependency at the root — if this is calling to you, I want to offer you two pathways.

I want to close this conversation — and this season of episodes — with something that came to me after a very long journey.
When all is cleared. When the trapped emotions have been released, and the inherited patterns have been dissolved, and the despair anchors have been lifted, and the broadcast messages have been reprogrammed, and the entities and saboteurs and cords have been removed — when all of that interference has been taken away — what remains?
What is left?
I can tell you what I found.
Peace.
Not the peace of having resolved every outer conflict. Not the peace of everything finally going the way I wanted. But the peace of no longer being in conflict with what is.
A divine, unconditional acceptance of all that is.
Of all that was.
Of all that will be.
In the Vedic tradition, this is called samadhi — the state in which the individual consciousness recognizes itself as inseparable from the universal. In which the small self that has been suffering, striving, defending, and despairing is finally seen for what it always was — a temporary wave in an infinite ocean, no more separate from the water than any other wave, no more in danger of disappearing than the ocean itself.
And from that recognition — from that place of unconditional acceptance — something extraordinary becomes available.
Not detachment. Presence.
Not indifference. Love.
The kind of love that doesn't need the other person to be different in order to extend. The kind of love that doesn't require conditions to be met or expectations to be fulfilled. The kind of love that simply is — because it arises not from the wound, not from need, not from fear of loss — but from the divine essence itself, which is love, which has always been love, which cannot be anything other than love.
When we greet someone with Namaste — when we bow our hands at our hearts and say the divine in me bows to the divine in you — this is the reality we are pointing toward. Not as an aspiration. As a recognition of what has always been true, beneath everything that temporarily obscured it.
The eternal victory of light over darkness is not a future event.
It is the present truth, revealed.
And every step of this journey — every wound, every demon, every dark night, every act of clearing — has been in service of one thing only.
Helping you see it.
I see it. I see it in you.
Namaste. 🙏
